Disney4me Posted March 24 Report Posted March 24 If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery has you covered and then some. The Cake Bake Shop Bakery This bakery is connected to The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant on Disney’s BoardWalk, and it’s home to some massive (and fairly pricey) treats. We have loved most of the things we have tried here, and now it’s time to review three more treats! Peanut Butter Crunch Cake Starting our list is the Peanut Butter Crunch Cake for $22. This was layers of chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, chocolate ganache, and crunchy chocolate pearls between the layers. Peanut Butter Crunch Cake Honestly, this cake was SPECTACULAR. That chocolate was rich and sweet, and the ganache complemented the peanut butter nicely. The peanut butter buttercream was our favorite part though — a delightful peanut butter flavor and some excellent texture from the crunchy pearls that made it more unique. Look at those layers! The cake itself was moist and thick, and, as usual, very high quality. The whole thing is sprinkled with edible glitter, which just makes it all the more magical. YUM We highly recommend this treat if you’re a chocolate and PB lover. Wowzers, y’all! Coconut Cream Pie Switching directions to a completely different flavor palette, we have the Coconut Cream Pie for $12. It’s coconut cream custard in a vanilla wafer cookie pie crust. Topped with freshly whipped cream and toasted coconut. A whole tray of them. They’re served in little cups, and most of the top that’s visible is whipped cream. In fact, about half of the serving height was whipped cream. Once you get past that layer, there’s a layer of vanilla custard, which was sweet and lightly vanilla-flavored, but not too special overall. Coconut Cream Pie At the bottom, you get a layer of coconut flakes blended with graham cracker crust. This has a very coconut-forward texture to it, so if you’re averse to that, you’ll definitely want to avoid this treat. But it was definitely the most interesting layer texturally and flavor-wise. Honestly, this snack would be best if you mixed the custard and crust layers together. Lots of whipped cream on top! Ultimately, it didn’t really feel like a pie, per se. It was more like a parfait or trifle. It was nice for coconut fans, but probably not the top item we’d choose from their menu. White Chocolate Pearl Latte Last but not least, we’ve got the White Chocolate Pearl Latte for $9. This is made with Ghirardelli white chocolate, French vanilla and almond syrups, steamed whole milk, topped with whipped cream and pearl sprinkles. Boy, is it a BEAUTY! White Chocolate Pearl Latte But sadly, the flavors didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Really, only the French vanilla and coffee flavors come through, with the almond and white chocolate getting lost. The whipped cream on top didn’t add much to the overall effect, especially because the drink was served iced, and honestly, with the iced version, the sprinkles were kind of a choking hazard. The sprinkles are very hard and sink to the bottom of the cup, so when you drink through the straw, they come shooting up the straw into your mouth unannounced. It was a little alarming. Topped with sprinkles! We were most impressed by the cake here, but of course, it is The Cake Bake Shop. We’ll be back in the future as they release more new items!
