In this case, we actually got a great new way to enjoy Diet Coke through the TV screen from Woody the Cowboy himself! During an appearance on CBS’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert a few years ago, Tom Hanks revealed a Diet Coke hack for adults 21 years of age and older that immediately got our attention! View this post on Instagram While speaking to Colbert, Hanks revealed that he isn’t much of a drinker but opts for Diet Coke in an effort to get a nice little caffeine jolt to get him through long evenings — ultra relatable! “So I have a little bit of caffeine, Diet Coke in a glass, and I sip that through the night. But they brought the champagne around. They brought the nice flutes. It was like the last episode of The Bachelor. And I just had this Diet Coke and I said, ‘Oh give me a shot of champagne in there for crying out loud.’ So I had a sip of this. Stephen, it was delicious,” said Hanks. Hanks and Colbert in 2016 (Timothy Kuratek/CBS) Colbert had heard this story and was prepared. He pulled out a couple of glasses and they began to recreate this concoction. Hanks said he poured about a third of a can of Diet Coke (he added, “It doesn’t have to be Coca-Cola. It can be any cola product.” He then suggested sticking with diet, since he has type two diabetes) and then topped it off with champagne. He then lauded the color, calling it “kinda gorgeous”, and after his first sip, Colbert was floored. Hanks gave himself a pat on the back, saying, “How ’bout that?” You can watch the full interaction below! Labeled “The Diet Cokagne” from Colbert and his team — a nickname that should probably NEVER be spoken aloud — this is a simple drink that is easily accessible to many! In fact, this is a concoction you can put together the next time you drink around the world at EPCOT! Champagne Flute Tom Hanks discovering the next big drink is no shocker. The prolific actor is Hollywood royalty and has done tons of unreal work for Disney, including playing Woody in the Toy Story franchise, Walt Disney in Saving Mr. Banks, Scott Turner in Turner & Hooch, James B.
