Strolling EPCOT’s World Showcase can give you the sense that you’re visiting another country between the smells, the decor, the shops, and the attractions, but this popular Disney World restaurant takes that notion one step further. If you’ve ever truly wanted to immerse yourself in another culture through food, festivities, and music, there’s one specific restaurant you CAN’T afford to miss on your next visit.

Biergarten

We recently stopped by Biergarten at EPCOT to scope out one of the liveliest meals you’ll find at Disney World, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!

Atmosphere

Inside this restaurant is where you can celebrate Oktoberfest all year long! Here at Biergarten, you’ll feast on authentic German cuisine while enjoying the lively entertainment within its open dining room.

We love the live entertainment!

As you step through its doors, you’re immediately greeted by its open, yet amphitheater-style tiered levels to its dining room as your host brings you around to your table. Now’s certainly not the time to be shy, as you could find yourself making new friends and sharing a table with other diners.

Time to make friends!

After you’ve been seated and your drink order is taken, your server will direct your attention to the buffet stations that are towards the center of the room.

Buffet

But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!

Menu

Since this is a buffet, you’ll pay one set price for most everything you’ll find on the menu. For adults, this meal will cost you $49, and for children ages 3-9, you can expect to pay $28. The buffet here is fairly extensive, so Disney World only lists a partial assortment on their menu online, but you can expect to find salads, traditional sausages, Sauerkraut, Schnitzel, rotisserie chicken, Spätzle, and Nudel Gratin here to grub.

They’ve got a small assortment of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from, like sodas, tea, coffee, and German Spezi…

…as well as a healthy beer selection.

There are also a few white and red wine offerings, too!

And if you’re feeling up for shots — they can accommodate that request.

And now, onto the main event — the food!

Eats

We loaded up our plate with many favorites from this restaurant, starting off with the Pork Schnitzel. While our reporter isn’t the biggest fan of this dish, it clearly has that meaty flavor you’d expect and is breaded well. We personally preferred the Chicken Schnitzel, which is closer to chicken tenders in the best way. You can grab lots of different sauces to go with your meal, such as mustard, hot mustard, ketchup, and even apple sauce!

Our plate!

As for the Pretzel Bread, we could eat our weight’s worth in it and still not be satisfied. It’s AMAZING. It’s beautifully soft on the inside and goes beautifully with the beer cheese soup.

Pretzel Bread

One of our favorites here is the Baked Mac and Cheese — it’s creamy, gooey, and almost a little greasy on the inside in the best way. If you’re someone who really loves cheese, this is 100% a dish you need to grab! The Vegan Pot Roast also really shocked us, because we would have believed that it was a regular pork pot roast. The meat was extremely tender, though, and while we’re usually used to lots of vegetables with pot roast, this seemed to only have carrots. Overall, we were very impressed with everything we tried!

The Mac and Cheese is our favorite!

Then it was time for dessert! Nothing here really stood out to us, unfortunately, but our favorite was the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Bite. It has a great salty/savory flavor thanks to the pretzel on top, but then the inside was gooey, creamy, and tasted just like a salted caramel cheesecake.

The Chocolate Cupcake wasn’t anything to write home about, but if you’re someone who really loves chocolate or is looking for a classic dessert, it may be a good option. Our second favorite dessert was the Apple Strudel, which has cinnamon apple on the inside and strudel on the outside. We drizzled some of the vanilla sauce over it, too, and that really elevated it!

Apple Strudel

The Trifle was unfortunately a little dry for us, and we wished the chocolate had been more of a frosting rather than a pudding, but we did enjoy the cherry flavor in it. The Lemon Raspberry Square treat we had was just okay, too — it’s a little too tangy for us, and it was too floury in consistency, so we couldn’t get past that texture.

Our entire dessert plate!

The Chocolate Chip Cookie actually REALLY surprised us, because it tasted homemade. It was ooey gooey and was so easy to pull apart and munch on, but at the end of the day, it IS still just a chocolate chip cookie. Overall, we enjoyed most of these, but we don’t really think it’s worth stopping by JUST for these.

Drinks

To drink, we picked up a liter of Warsteiner Dunkel for $18.75. This is a classic German-style dark pilsner that’s a deep, chestnut brown color. It has a smooth, toasty malt flavor and mocha aromas, so much so that it almost tastes like espresso to us! While it’s very stout and heavy in flavor, it’s not going to weigh your stomach down, which we appreciated.

Warsteiner Dunkle

We can totally see how this is a favorite at this restaurant, and how you can just keep drinking it without getting tired of it. Our reporter isn’t the biggest beer fan normally, and they were a BIG fan of this one!

Nosh or Not

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re a big fan of German cuisine
  • You’re more of an adventurous eater and love trying new dishes
  • You love dinner and a show!

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You’re a picky eater
  • You want a quiet meal and/or don’t do well in loud environments
  • You’re not comfortable being seated right next to other parties at the same table.

Overall

Not only were we really big fans of our meal, but we also adore the entertainment that you get to experience during your meal! The performers do a lot of classic German polka music, some of which is inspired by Disney songs, and they’ll even invite you out onto the dance floor at times, as well as encourage you to toast in your seats at certain points.

It’s so lively and fun!

The price of this meal is hard to justify for just the buffet itself, even though it is a really solid meal, but once you see how great the entertainment is, then the price makes more sense. We’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond.
