It’s an iconic park with many classic rides that you won’t want to miss on your next Disney World vacation. Magic Kingdom Many people rope drop this park, meaning they get there before it officially opens so they can hit the rides immediately when they open. This technique can help guests get on high-demand rides before the lines get really long. However, there are still rides you’ll want to avoid if you plan to rope drop Magic Kingdom. People staying at Disney World hotels can get into the park half an hour early with the Early Entry perk, so the rides to AVOID at this time may be different than the rides to avoid if you’re getting to the park at the normal opening time. Let’s check out which rides to avoid for each of these scenarios. Early Entry TRON Lightcycle / Run TRON Lightcycle / Run is a very popular ride. Lots of people like to go straight to it in Tomorrowland, making this line LONG first thing in the morning. TRON Lightcycle/Run It’s a fun ride, but we suggest avoiding it and checking out some of the other rides right away in the morning. You may be able to check back throughout the day and catch it with a shorter line, or you can always purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for it. Frontierland and Adventureland Rides If you’re rope dropping during Early Entry, don’t plan to go on any of the Frontierland or Adventureland ride, because these two lands will still be closed. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The rides in these lands include: The Magic Carpets of Aladdin Pirates of the Caribbean Jungle Cruise Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (This ride is closed for refurbishment until 2026) Jungle Cruise Instead of going left in front of Cinderella Castle, go straight to Fantasyland or right to Tomorrowland. Regular Opening TRON Lightcycle / Run By the time the park opens at it’s regular time, the line for TRON will likely be quite long. You’ll probably want to come back later or purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass. TRON Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Seven Dwarfs Mine Train’s line will also fill up VERY quickly. But if you hustle back there as fast as you can (without running, of course), you could get in the queue ahead of quite a few people. However, if you don’t want to hustle at break neck speed, we suggest avoiding it. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train This ride is open to Early Entry guests, so when you get back to it after the park opens, there will likely already be a line, which is why it might be a good idea to avoid this at rope drop. But if you’re one of the first people to get there after opening, your wait may be shorter than it would be later in the day. Peter Pan’s Flight This small ride is one of the most visited rides in Magic Kingdom. It is open for Early Entry, so it will likely already have a very long line by the time the park officially opens. Peter Pan’s Flight in Disney World This ride uses the Lightning Lane Multi Pass system, so you can book it in advance, if you’re hoping to ride it! Guests staying at a Disney World hotel and select other hotels can reserve Lightning Lanes seven days in advance of their trip, and everyone else can reserve them three days in advance. This ride can have very long lines! Instead of heading to these rides at rope drop when the park officially opens, consider heading to Adventureland or Frontierland!
