SeaWorld Orlando prepares 8-coaster challenge Saturday

SeaWorld Orlando is planning an “ultimate challenge,” inviting visitors to experience all eight of its roller coasters Saturday, which also is National Roller Coaster Day.

SeaWorld is the city’s most coaster-heavy theme park, and its lineup ranges from Super Grover’s Box Car Derby (a junior coaster in Sesame Street Land) to Journey to Atlantis, a hybrid ride with both a splashdown and a coaster rail stretch, to Mako, the dramatic hypercoaster that is Orlando’s speediest, traveling up to 73 mph.

The first 2,000 challenge participants will receive a lanyard for tracking their progress, and people who complete all eight coasters will receive a 2025 national Roller Coaster Day poster.  There will be a check-in table near guest services at the front of the park on Saturday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.  (Park hours Saturday are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

Other SeaWorld coasters include Manta, Kraken, Pipeline, Ice Breaker and Penguin Trek, which debuted last summer.  The coasters all have height restrictions, and for half of them, riders must be at least 54 inches tall.

In addition, SeaWorld Orlando pass members can get a behind-the-scenes tour of Kraken on Saturday. The floorless coaster is marking its 25th anniversary. Tours will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and sign-ups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, secured at the SkyTower Tour Desk.
