Move over, Kitchen Sink, another family-sized dessert just dropped in Disney World!

There is no shortage of great restaurants in Disney Springs, with options to match pretty much whatever you’re craving! If you’re in the mood to treat yourself, The BOATHOUSE is a signature restaurant known for its steaks, chops, and seafood. But the fun doesn’t stop at the savory stuff! You can also find unique menu items here, like the adorable Duck Duck Razz cocktail and delicious desserts…like the massive NEW one we just tackled!

The BOATHOUSE is no stranger to massive desserts, like the towering S’mores Baked Alaska. So when we saw a new shareable dessert make its debut on the menu, we had to go try it out for ourselves. The White Chocolate Confetti Cake is a citrus cream cake, layered with white chocolate mascarpone, covered in white chocolate ganache, and served with a side of Homer’s vanilla ice cream (all topped with festive rainbow sprinkles, of course).

Look at the size of that cake slice!

Okay, let’s start with the elephant in the room — this thing is HUGE! The menu says it serves two, but after taking it on ourselves, we’d say it seemed more family-sized to us. You could probably get away with splitting it between four or more people, especially if you’ve already had a full meal first. And at $26.50, it’s actually not a bad deal (as far as Disney prices go, at least), if you do plan to split it between a whole crew.

The Menu Says it Serves Two, But We’d Say Four!

Another thing to consider with the size is that this dessert gets melty fast, and it’s prone to toppling over. If you are planning on ordering this, try to sit inside so the outdoor heat and humidity don’t supercharge the melting. Plus, you might want to go ahead and turn the cake over on its side after you snap a few quick pictures, so it doesn’t crash down on you. The structural integrity of our cake started to fail after a few minutes, so make sure you’re ready to avoid any gravity-related incidents!

Now, let’s talk taste! The layers of mascarpone and coating of ganache give the cake a white chocolate-forward flavor. But even though the flavor was prominent, the layer of white chocolate ganache around the outside of the cake was pretty thin, so it’s good for people who don’t like a lot of icing texture covering the outside of their cake. Plus, the layer on the bottom had a nice crackle to it, and we loved the texture it gave. Even though the cake looks like a standard yellow confetti, we definitely picked up on the citrus flavor, which tasted like a lemon cake. The brightness of the citrus complemented the sweetness of the white chocolate super well, and we loved the way all the flavors and textures worked together!

The vanilla ice cream also made for a perfect complement to the cake. All the elements worked together to make this a delicious, creamy, and smooth dessert that we’d come back for again in a heartbeat! We’d just bring a few more friends next time to help us take it all on!

If you’re a fan of white chocolate and don’t mind a hint of citrus, this could be right up your alley, just like it was for us. Just don’t let the massive size (and resulting physics) catch you by surprise, and come prepared with a team to help you devour this sweet treat!

We’re always on the lookout for new menu items in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB to help you pick out all of your must-trys for your next vacation!
