  1. Where do you go when you need that midday caffeine pick-me-up or the morning cup of Joe? Fun fact: Coffee tastes BETTER by a Castle! For Disney World fans, you typically have two choices — either Joffrey’s or Starbucks. And if you’re one of those Starbucks fanatics, we’ve got some exciting teasers about seasonal drinks coming soon. Bring on the falltime treats! Starbucks has been posting some rather cryptic things on Instagram that we think need decoding! Three different videos have appeared in recent days that seem to tease fall flavors. Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs First up, we’ve got this strange video of two people grilling corn…except it turns into candy corn? People in the comments are very intrigued by the possibility of candy corn-flavored beverages coming to Starbucks. Alas, Starbucks hasn’t yet released details about when these new fall drinks could drop or what they will be. We can’t wait to check out the lineup! Typically, these seasonal beverages will also be offered at Starbucks locations in the Disney parks — what’s more magical than a delicious coffee on Main Street, U.S.A.? We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for an official announcement from the company, so stay tuned to DFB. Click Here to Check Out One of Our Starbucks Reviews! 2. Hey, friends! Are you looking to take your little on to Disney? Do you feel like you have 1000 questions and 2000 worries about what to do and what could go wrong? Disneyland Don’t worry — I’ve been in your shoes, and I’m here to HELP! Not only have I been working here at DFB for over 5 years but I also used to be a Cast Member. So, I happen to know Disney like the back of my hand. BUT I don’t live right next door to Disney. I actually live all the way in Texas. So, I only get to go to the parks every now and then. Because of that, I have to pack and prepare for a Disney trip like most of you likely have to do as well. SO, when I took my then 10 month old to Disneyland for the first time, I had so many questions and stresses. And honestly, I learned quite a few lessons the hard way. I’m here to share some of those struggles so you can avoid then when you take your little(s) to Disney! Expect the Unexpected If you’re a parent, then you obviously know that babies and children can be pretty unpredictable, especially when they are in a new place. Will they want to ride in the stroller? Who knows. Will they want to be held? Who knows. Will they want to crawl or walk around? Probably because that happens to be pretty darn stressful for us parents at Disney. Going in with the mindset that things might not go as planned and knowing that your little is going to have plans of their own is the best way to set yourself up for success! So sleepy I seriously wasn’t prepared for Emmitt, my son, to want to be down trying to explore at Disneyland as much as he did. He wasn’t walking at the time but was a very quick crawler. He also loved pulling up on things and standing as much as he could. For some reason, I thought he was going to be so chill and just would want to snuggle in the stroller and look around at all of the pretty scenery. Well, I was WRONG. Very wrong. And if you know Disney, you know there aren’t too many areas where it’s easy for a baby to crawl around. This lead to quite a bit of frustration and was something that I wish I would have planned for a bit more. He loved the castle so much! Lesson: Expect your littles to really want to get down and explore. This is all so new to them. They will want to look but they might want to touch and feel as well. What I learned: If I were to take an infant to Disney again, I’d bring a few more pairs of shoes/socks so they aren’t caught barefoot when they want to explore. I’d also bring a travel blanket or picnic blanket so there’s a nice cozy spot for them to explore. We spent a lot of time in Toon Town on the grassy area but in the mornings, the turf was really wet and Emmitt would end up soaking wet! Clean Those Hands! So, on the last day of our trip, Emmitt became really fussy. I thought he was likely just exhausted from all the go, go, go. But NOPE. When we woke up to head home the next day, we figured out that he had actually caught a really bad tummy bug that had my entire family sick for a week after we got back home. He had been touching all kinds of stuff throughout our trip, and I honestly hadn’t done the best job at making sure his paci and hands were squeaky clean. See those hands! Gotta touch it all lol The next time we go to the parks, I plan on washing my hands and Emmitt’s every time someone in our group stops for the bathroom, even if we don’t need to go. I am also going to set a few little alarms to remind me to clean his paci and to put on some hand sanitizer just to add an extra layer of caution. The days are so fast paced, so I’m hoping little alarms will really help remind me to clean his paci and will help keep those germs away! Lesson: Germs exist, even at the Happiest Place on Earth. (No duh, I know. But my baby getting sick was the last worry I had on my mind when taking him to the parks.) What I learned: Overdo it when it comes to keeping your babies hands and paci clean! You might spend a lot of time at the Baby Care Center I expected to be at the Baby Care Center every now and then but I truly felt like I lived at the Baby Care Centers on my trip. This was OK because the Baby Care Centers truly are nice but I got pretty lonely. Of course, I could have nursed and changed Emmitt elsewhere but this was just the most private and cleanest spot to do it. Also, at Disneyland, you don’t feel like you’re walking forever and ever to get the Baby Care Centers since the parks aren’t insanely huge. But if you are planning to feed and change your baby at the Baby Care Center, maybe download a few Disney movies on your phone or something. Then you can still feel connected to the magic while you’re having to step away for a bit! Baby Care Center What I didn’t realize and wanted to share for any moms that are needing to pump while in the parks is that Disney cannot store your milk. So if you are needing to keep milk cool, you’re going to need to find a way to preserve it on your own! Lesson: Bringing a baby to the parks can feel kinda of lonely. Lesson I learned: Find other ways to feel connected to the magic while you’re feeding your little. Listen to some Disney tunes or watch a Disney movie on your phone. Oh, and if you’re a pumping mama, have a plan for your milk! These are just a few of the lessons I learned about taking my little to Disney for the first time. I’m taking him to Disney World for the very first time this fall, so I can’t wait to come back to share all my takes and all the lessons I learn! 3. As you can imagine, the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event dropped some massive Disney parks news and left us shook! Magic Kingdom I mean, we were all “ready” and waiting for the Horizons — Disney Experiences Showcase on August 10th, but truthfully, we weren’t ready. But instead of recapping everything that went down, we want to focus on Magic Kingdom right now as it got a LOT of announcements. We found out about projects like the new nighttime parade, Villains Land, and even Cars Land and they’re all coming to Magic Kingdom sooner than you think! Speaking of the Cars Land, once we found out about where it would be located, you could say that Disney fans are quite divided on the HUGE Frontierland overhaul that’s a coming! So, just to catch us all up to speed, Disney did officially announce where the brand-news Cars land will be located in Magic Kingdom. ©Disney Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America and will be transformed into this brand-new land coming to the park. That means that Cars land will be located in Frontierland and that makes sense as Disney will, and I quote, “put our guests in the driver’s seat as we—quite literally—explore a new frontier in Frontierland.” We tried to figure out the exact location by zooming into current Magic Kingdom map and comparing it to the concept art released by Disney. We circled with a red line where we expect the new Cars area to be. Map of where the new Cars area will be As further confirmation, there is this one building near the bottom of the concept art that looks a lot like the current Liberty Square Riverboat building. Concept Art Moving right along, the new Cars Land in Magic Kingdom will include have two Cars attractions. The first one will have us racing through the mountains and along wild terrains, all while trying to dodge geysers and splashing through mud holes. Cars is coming to Magic Kingdom! ©Disney And the second attraction will be more family-friendly (more appropriate for our smaller racers). ©Disney So, as we were saying, all these announcements have DEFINITELY sparked some emotions in Disney fans and left many divided. For example, DFB reader @masenmotivates shared, “Turning Tomorrowland Speedway into a Cars themed space makes a lot more sense to me.” There is nothing exciting about this @dradisney shared the same sentiments and expanded them with, “So many problems. First: Cars theme doesn’t fit at Frontierland TIMELINE. Second: With so many land available, why not beyond Thunder Mountain? Third: why not place the cars rally at tomorrow land, where tomorrow land speed way is? Don’t tell me we will get a new brand rally attraction but speedway will still remain on TOMORROW land? Tomorrow land wasn’t suppose to bring the freshness of tomorrow? Why place race cars in a time where there were horses, wagons and nostalgia? Where is the Magic Kingdom that doesn’t mix storylines and has an underground tunnel made initially to don’t mess with the immersion? Why not place this in Hollywood Studios?” Tomorrowland Speedway @vincent_devecchis agreed with, “This is gonna ruin a thematic cohesion of the land. You’re gonna walk out of haunted mansion and boom there’s gonna be talking cars plus the river area kind of cools down the park. If it’s just cement it’s gonna get super hot.” I’m sure that is something that Disney will have to consider as that river does naturally help cool down that side of the park. Tom Sawyer Island Then @letsplayschool shared, “Super sad about what’s being replaced and taken away. Excited for the new – just wish it wasn’t taking away such classics…. ”. That’s always the unfortunate thing about projects like this — something old tends to give way for something new. Tom Sawyer Island Lastly, we have @anthonynunzioviscuse who shared, “This is horrible. Walt not only enjoyed but intended for areas of the park to be passive enjoyment. He loved the west. He loved the stories of America. Tom Sawyer island is a much needed “respite” from the crowds and stimulation of the works themselves. It’s a quiet reflection and place to spend some family time. It’s also a huge piece of living history in the Magic Kingdom. That matters. It isn’t just an add on to the Disney World experience, it IS Disney world. On a personal note, my wife and I said our vows in a cavern of Tom Sawyer island and it means so much to us to be able to take our children to a beautiful, nature filled nostalgic area that I myself grew up visiting with my father. I’m so sad about this.” Dead Man’s Grotto on Tom Sawyer Island We do know that the construction on this new land is to begin in early 2025, so if you would like to take one more trip on The Rivers of America or explore all the goodness of Tom Sawyer Island one last time, the clock is ticking! We’ll be watching for more details as this new project begins at Magic Kingdom and all the other new projects around the Disney World parks. Keep following DFB for all the latest Disney news! 5. As we were making our way around Magic Kingdom this morning, we spotted something mysterious… Liberty Square We want to make sure you have the most up-to-date and useful information about Disney World, so we are in the parks EVERY single day! We want to make sure you know about all the latest treats, but we are also here to give you a heads-up when something is a bit amiss. While we were in Magic Kingdom today, we noticed something a bit mysterious while we were checking out merchandise inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe Walls have appeared! Yep, walls have sprouted inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe! Walls were put up inside of the shop, closing off half of the store. Some of the merchandise that was located in that part of the store has been moved to other parts of the shop, while other merchandise like The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise has been scattered around the park for now. We spoke with Cast Members inside of the store and they did not know why that part of the store was closed or how long to expect it to be walled off. We weren’t expecting to see this… Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is a merchandise store located in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. Inside, you can find a large selection of ornaments, stockings, holiday decor, and more. The store has holiday cheer year-round, and also offers personalization! Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe We were definitely surprised to see a bunch of walls inside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe; however, this store is definitely no stranger to construction. Back in February, work was being done on one of the store’s entrances. This construction is now complete, but it looks like more work may be getting done inside of the shop. It could also be a temporary wall to clean up or fix something quickly on that side of the store. Construction going on here! If you happen to be in Magic Kingdom at night, you can also spot a special character in a window of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe! If you look closely, you might just see the shadow of Ichabod Crane! Mr. Crane We will continue to keep an eye on Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, and we will update you when we see more progress! You can still check out half of this store and find a huge selection of ornaments and more. 6. We say it all the time, and we won’t stop because it’s SO true — choosing where to eat in Disney World is BEYOND hard. Cinderella’s Royal Table First, you’ve gotta figure out what your budget for the trip is, and how much of it is allocated to dining, and THEN you need to decide what table service restaurants to book (up to 60 days before your trip begins) and what meals you’ll stop at quick service restaurants for. On the Disney World website and My Disney Experience App, you’ll find that each restaurant has a number of dollar signs that can help you get a quick picture of how much it costs. However, it’s easy to make a mistake at a select few of these restaurants, and we’re BEGGING you not to fall victim to it! There are a select few Disney World restaurants that are EXTREMELY expensive. While the Disney World website and My Disney Experience app only go up to saying “Over $60 per adult” when it shows 4 dollar signs (looking like “$$$$”), there are other restaurants that aren’t just a little over $60 like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest Restaurant (which are still expensive, but are at $69-$84 per adult and $70 per adult, respectively). No, there are other restaurants on property that cost HUNDREDS of dollars per adult. Be Our Guest Takumi-Tei, located in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion, is one of these. While upon first glance you’ll see that the restaurant has 4 dollar signs and says over $60 per adult, just like all other Disney World restaurants listed on the website and app, you need to click ON the menu to see what the actual price is. And if you don’t? Well, unfortunately, it seems many people have booked a reservation here and been VERY unpleasantly surprised by their bill. Takumi-Tei Instead of clicking on the menu and seeing that Takumi-Tei is $250 PER ADULT (and starts at $100 per child), guests have apparently been assuming the meal will be closer to $60 due to the Disney World app and website not having an option above the listing. In a recent email we were sent by the restaurant, they wrote at the bottom, “sorry about confusion over the price, Disney website will only go up to “over $60.'” The Sushi Platter YIKES. We can only imagine how many times this mistake has been made by guests in the park to warrant Takumi-Tei sending out an email partly regarding their pricing. That’s why it’s SO important to do all your research on the Disney World restaurants you’re looking at dining at and remembering that “OVER $60” could really mean ANY price above $60. By just taking one extra step and clicking on the menu to see what’s offered, you’ll also see the exact price per person. Takumi-Tei Additionally, we feel it’s important to mention that Takumi-Tei’s plant-based meal option USED to be cheaper than the traditional $250 per adult, however that has since changed. Now, the plant-based option is the exact same price as the non-plant-based menus. Takumi-Tei also verified with guests that they do not participate in the Disney Dining Plan, and as of September 1st, 2024, Annual Pass and DVC discounts will not longer be valid. Takumi-Tei offers one of the best dining experiences anywhere on Disney World property, but it’s important to know that you are paying up for this meal — and you’ll need to budget correctly for it! With DOZENS of places to eat at Disney World, we know it can be tough to plan your meals. That’s why we wrote the DFB Guide to Dining at Walt Disney World. 10. Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! Recently, an interesting pattern of wait times has developed, and we need to discuss it. It’s Halloween in Disney World! Disney World is now officially celebrating the Halloween season in Magic Kingdom. A new skip-the-line Genie+ replacement called Lighting Lane Multi Pass is now in effect. So, with these factors in mind, what are the average wait times looking like in Disney World for the first week of August? Let’s take a look! Take a look at this week’s average wait times! Magic Kingdom Wait Times The Magic Kingdom had a pretty great week — the average wait times ALL stayed under 60 minutes. What does that tell us? Well, for one thing, it seems like the Magic Kingdom isn’t too crowded, or the new Lightning Lane system is doing a pretty good job at keeping those wait times evenly distributed. Either way, spending a day in Magic Kingdom right about now is the way to go! (REMINDER: Tron Lightcycle / Run does not currently use a standby queue; it’s not included here, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure does not have a standby queue yet.) 14. When it comes to food, things are changing ALL the time in Disneyland. Goofy’s Kitchen A TON of new Halloween treats will be arriving in the parks, at Downtown Disney, and hotel restaurants soon. Several new restaurants have opened recently in Downtown Disney. We just got an opening timeline for yet ANOTHER new restaurant coming to Downtown Disney. We also learned about a fun Halloween character dining experience coming soon at Goofy’s Kitchen, but we’ve got a word of warning: the price of that dining experience has gone up. Character dining at Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel used to be $55 per adult and $33 per child (3-9) for breakfast and $64 per adult and $36 per child for lunch and dinner. As of August 23rd, that price will be $65 per adult and $36 per child for breakfast and $75 per adult and $39 per child for lunch and dinner. Goofy’s Kitchen spread This price increase starts just as the new Halloween dining experience at Goofy’s Kitchen begins. This experience starts on August 23rd and runs through October 31st. During that time, characters will appear in their Halloween costumes, and special seasonal offerings will be available on the buffet, like prosciutto and arugula eggs benedict with sun-dried tomato hollandaise and orange Mickey waffles for breakfast and cheese ravioli with pumpkin cream sauce and BBQ pork spare ribs for dinner. Pluto at Goofy’s Kitchen We’re not sure if this price increase is permanent or if Disney just implemented it for the Halloween dining experience, but if something changes, we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. Reservations are open now for the Halloween character dining experience at Goofy’s Kitchen, so if you’re interested, make that booking now! Goofy’s Kitchen Meanwhile, Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel is also having a fall character dining experience for breakfasts this Halloween season, so if you can’t grab reservations at Goofy’s Kitchen, that could be a good backup. Those reservations are also open. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Disneyland Is Getting 6 New Rides! Want to Learn More About Disneyland? Check Out the Links Below! 16. Okay, is it just us, or is it always the TV shows you’re JUST getting into suddenly get canceled? ©Amazon We’ve had some pretty surprising cancelations recently. For example, the entertaining Renegade Nell was canceled on Disney+ after just one season (which is a SHAME, y’all). We recently learned that the seventh season of The Good Doctor will be its last. Well, another show that we THOUGHT was super popular just got the axe — and we’re not entirely happy about it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon has canceled My Lady Jane after just one season. The period drama was set to become the next Bridgerton…but with a fantasy twist. The show is based on a novel by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows and offers an alternate world and fantasy retelling of the saga of England’s Lady Jane Grey, who was VERY briefly the Queen of England. ©Amazon The story begins by introducing Lady Jane (Emily Bader) as a headstrong, smart young woman who wants to do anything but get married but somehow ends up getting married anyway and then goes on to become Queen of England. Set in 16th-century England, the series also introduces shapeshifters called Ethians, who can take the form of people or animals. Jane sympathizes with Ethians, which causes problems once she rises to power. ©Amazon The series was set up to be Amazon’s period drama answer to Bridgerton and received mostly favorable reviews. However, it seems viewers didn’t catch on to the show: it didn’t break into Nielsen’s top 10 streaming charts a month after its release. ©Amazon Of course, this could highlight a big problem with new shows on streaming services: viewers often feel burned by these cancelations and won’t commit to a series unless it has more than one season. This results in shows getting canceled before they have a chance to hit their stride. So, as they say, another one bites the dust. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. ‘Tis the season of all things Haunted Mansion, although we might argue that Haunted Mansion should be popular year-round. Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom But it is the season where we get new Haunted Mansion merchandise and snacks (again, why not ALL year-round, Disney? HUH?). So we wanted to talk about this ride that makes spooky season even spookier (especially during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party). We decided to ask YOU, our DFB readers, about something that people do on this ride that annoys you, and let’s just say YOU ANSWERED. That’s right, we went on Facebook and asked you, “What’s something people do on the Haunted Mansion that drives you CRAZY?” Y’all came up with a LOT of comments. Whew! So here’s what you told us. Taking flash photos Okay, this is one that we hate, too, because it’s against the ride’s rules! The Ghost Host LITERALLY tells you not to take flash photography, after all. Dulcie answered our question, “Take flash photos or text the whole time! Yes, both are distracting. Haunted Mansion Shyan added, “Flash photography/recording with flashlight on.” We were actually surprised at how many of you mentioned this. Flash photos on Haunted Mansion are obviously a real problem on the ride. Stephanie has a solution for those who do it: “Flash pictures, on ANY dark ride. Disney jail immediately .“ Disney World Is Getting 8 New Rides! Talking loudly in the stretching room Okay, we’re just going to say it: the stretching room is part of the ride, and you should NOT talk through it. To quote DFB reader Sean, “Talk so loud in the stretching room I can’t hear the Ghost Host. That’s some iconic dialogue I’m missing!” Maureen sums it up perfectly, “Talk loudly in the stretching room! Just because I’ve been on it 20 times doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear the Ghost Host.” Don’t talk here!!! Nancy added, “TALK in the pre-room and the stretching room. SHUT UP!!!!! I want to hear Paul Frees, not you.” SAME, Nancy, SAME. We’ll also point out that several of you mention people screaming during the pre-show and ride, and yes, that bothers us, too. Older Disney Fans Are Sharing the “Shocking and Annoying” Things Younger Generations Do Reciting the dialogue Along with the talking, it’s also annoying when others are reciting the dialogue. Stacey commented, “Recite the stretching room spiel loudly.” If you can’t help yourself, you can just whisper it or mouth the words. Seriously, people! Julie agreed, “Recite the entire pre show or talk during the whole thing.” Keep your mouth shut, people. This seems to be a HUGE problem in the stretching room — yes, you’ve been on this ride a million times, but there are people in there who may be riding Haunted Mansion for the first time. Rob said it best: “Nobody thinks you’re cool because you memorized the ghost host in the stretching room. No one. We’re all judging you the rest of the day. Everytime we see you.” We Couldn’t Believe Our Eyes When We Saw This Disney Ride Model Pushing and shoving The stretching room is just an annoying place, in general. That’s probably because everyone has to crowd into the room, and once the doors open to join the ride’s queue, people just start pushing and shoving their way through. Like, what’s the hurry? You’re already pretty close to getting in a Doom Buggy, we promise. Angela answered, ” I hate it when people try to push their way through you when the doors open or when they’re practically climbing over your back when getting in the narrow part of the queue.” Yep, it’s the WORST. Yes, it gets crowded in here, but pushing is not necessary Ben-Angela said, “The line…like, dude, it’s a constantly moving ride and we’re all gonna get on within just a few buggies of each other. Don’t push me, DEFINITELY don’t push my kids, and don’t separate my family.” Karen also has a problem with the pushing and shoving: “Push in to the next room. My family always gets separated because someone always pushes through to try to get to the front even though half their family is still way in the back.” Hatbox Ghost says to stop pushing and shoving Susan prefers to wait it out, “Push and shove when it’s time to leave the stretching room. I usually wait until they rush out so I don’t get trampled.” Some other annoyances include standing up inside the Doom Buggy, spreading the ashes of deceased loved ones on the ride (yep, that really happens), and leaving gum on the seat (ew). 8 Disney World Rides That Seriously Need To Make a Comeback So the next time you ride Haunted Mansion, remember that it takes no effort at all to be mindful of other riders. 19. “Soarin’ to tower! We are ready for takeoff!” Soarin’ Around the World Before you get ready to ride Soarin’ Around the World in EPCOT, and have the chance to meet Patrick, the Chief Flight Attendant, we have some tips on what rows to request for the best experience. One of our favorite rows to get on Soarin’ Around the World in EPCOT is Row B1, and we are going to explain why. However, there are also some other great rows that may better fit your desires, so we are discussing them all! Soarin’ If you have never been on Soarin’ Around the World before, it is a simulation attraction where you are visiting iconic locations around the world. You are seated in your ride vehicle and then lifted up in front of a screen. Your ride vehicle will move to mimic soaring through the air as you view the locations from the sky. Soarin’ in the Land Pavilion Since you are watching the attraction on a screen and there is the potential to see your fellow flyers during the attraction, there are some seats that we think make for the best experience. Soarin’ Seats Keep in mind that you are always welcome to request rows at an attraction in Disney World, but your request may not always be able to be accommodated. Ask nicely and be respectful if the Cast Member isn’t able to accommodate. We promise you will still have an amazing time on the ride no matter where you are sitting! Soarin’ Queue Alright, onto the best places to sit while riding Soarin’ Around the World! One of the most popular rows is row B1. In row B1 you are in the center of the screen and have no feet dangling in your view. Although you are higher up than the exact center of the screen so there will still be some distortion. However, this is a fan favorite because you will get the least amount of distortion from the screen without feet dangling in front of you. Soarin’ Around the World If you are looking for the absolute least amount of distortion and don’t care about feet hanging in front of you, then row B2 is where you want to be. In row B2 you are in the true center of the screen so you have minimum distortion. But, be ready for some feet to be in your field of view. Think of Soarin’ kind of like a 3×3 grid, there are three sections (A,B, and C) with three rows each (1, 2, and 3). In row B2 you will be smack-dab in the middle of the grid. Soarin’ Around the World Seating Our final row recommendation is for anyone who isn’t a fan of heights or wants to be as close to the ground as possible. You will still be off the ground, so if you are deathly afraid of heights this still won’t be a good row for you. In row B3 you will be in the center of the screen, but a bit lower than the exact center so there will be some distortion. You will also have feet dangling in front of you, but you will be the closest to the ground of any row. If you’re not in the center, everything is at an angle! Both section A and section C will be slightly to the side of the screen so you will notice more distortion than in section B. However, row 1 of these sections will still have you soaring without any feet in front of you, and row 3 will get you as close to the ground as possible. While we prefer the B section as you are in the middle of the screen, you will still have an amazing time on Soarin’ no matter where you sit! So even if you don’t get your first choice of seats, you are still getting to fly around the world without leaving EPCOT! 20. If you’re obsessed with the Haunted Mansion, this is the BEST time of year to find Haunted Mansion collectibles. Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Halloween season means Disney drops a ton of new Haunted Mansion souvenirs (and snacks!), and we’ll admit that we usually want to buy ALL the spooky merchandise. However, Disney just dropped a Haunted Mansion souvenir that most of us regular Disney adults will never be able to see — but we’re sharing it with you anyway because it’s EPIC. So not only will you need to travel to Disneyland to grab this souvenir, but you’ll also have to fork out the THOUSANDS of dollars it costs to be a Club 33 member because this collectible is only available to Club 33 members. Yep, it’s THAT exclusive. However, we can’t help but stare at it because it’s so awesome: it’s a Haunted Mansion Tightrope Walker Tiki Mug. Excuse us while we drown in FOMO! On one side is the portrait, which you initially see in the Haunted Mansions stretching room. That tightrope walker is named Sally Slater, and she’s an ICON! ©@enchantedtikibar on Instagram On the other side of the mug is the full portrait of the Tightrope Walker walking a tightrope above a body of water with an alligator lying in wait ready to CHOMP. SO cool. ©@enchantedtikibar on Instagram So, if you ARE a Club 33 Member, you’ll want to keep an eye out for this new collectible. It comes with a drink made with gin, pear liqueur, honey syrup, allspice dram, and Angostura bitters. The drink also includes an umbrella, because OF COURSE IT DOES. Anyway, that sounds SO good, right? Like most of us, though, you can join us as we just stare at photos of the mug, which is probably the closest we’ll ever get to it. 21. There’s just nothing like taking a ride on the Disney World Skyliner, you know?! Disney World’s Skyliner I mean, when you’re on the Skyliner you’re soaring high above the crowds, waving “bye bye” bus lines, and traveling “oh so conveniently” between many of the Disney World Resort hotels and the parks. We’re big fans of the Skyliner experience (if you couldn’t tell). If you’re looking forward to hopping aboard on your next trip to Disney World, we’ve gotta go over the dates you’ll want to avoid! Just in case you have no idea what the Skyliner is, let’s do a quick refresher. The Disney Skyliner has been running since September 2019, and it provides a super convenient way for guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century, and Disney’s Riviera Resort to access both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Skyliner Now, with that out of the way, there are some dates that you should avoid the Skyliner, but don’t worry that you’ll be stranded. You will still have options like buses, monorails, boats, Minnie Vans, just to name a few. Here are two specific dates when you should avoid the Disney Skyliner. When It’s Closed for Refurbishment First up, as you can imagine, in order to keep the Skyliner in tip-top working order, Disney has to shut it down for maintenance. In the past several years, we have typically seen the Skyliner go down each January for around a week. The Skyliner closes temporarily in January Here are the dates it went under refurb for the past four years: January 24 to January 28, 2021 January 23 to January 28, 2022 January 22 to January 29, 2023 January 16 to January 27, 2024 (most of it reopened on January 21st) Skyliner Closed So, if that regularity is any indication, you would most likely want to avoid trying to use the Skyliner for at least the last two weeks in January each year when it goes under refurbishment. Days When Bad Weather is Predicted In case you didn’t know, Florida weather can be a little unpredictable. One minute it’s sunny and beautiful, and the next it’s like the sky just decided to empty itself all at once. Now, the Skyliner doesn’t do well with bad weather, especially lightning. If any lightning is reported within a 10-mile radius, you’ll find the Skyliner shut down for safety reasons. Look out for stormy weather! On days like this, it’s better to plan ahead and have your alternate transportation method in mind (buses, Minnie Vans, etc.). Once the weather passes, the Skyliner will be back up and running again. Also, remember that Florida gets hit by hurricanes, so you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather when you’re making your plans. Too many storms for the Skyliner Those are just a couple of the most important dates to try and avoid the Disney Skyliner when planning your next trip to Disney World. In the meantime, keep it right here at DFB for all the latest! 22. So a LOT is going on in Magic Kingdom right now. Rivers of America Tiana’s Bayou Adventure just opened recently, as did an all-new version of Country Bear Jamboree. Construction may begin soon on an all-new Cars land PLUS a new Villains land is on the way, too. Well, now, we’ve got another change to warn you about coming up soon: a classic Magic Kingdom attraction will temporarily close. The Liberty Square Riverboat, which cruises the Rivers of America around Tom Sawyer Island is not showing any hours on the Disney World calendar as of of August 20th. This generally means that the ride will be closed. We’re seeing the same on August 21st and 22nd. ©Disney The good news is that the website is showing hours for the Riverboat on August 23rd, so this is just a temporary closure. However, we’ll admit we got a little nervous. As we previously reported, the new Cars land announced for Magic Kingdom will be taking over the space occupied by the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. For a hot minute, we were wondering if construction would begin REALLY soon. ©Disney So it’s likely this closure has nothing to do with the new land being built. We also do not know what will become of the Riverboat once construction begins on the new land: will it be removed entirely or relocated to serve another purpose? Now, we don’t know if Disney is taking any suggestions, but we think a restaurant on the Riverboat would be an EXCELLENT idea — maybe something New Orleans-themed to go along with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? Magic Kingdom is in sore need of better food, after all…so we’re just throwing that idea out into the universe for consideration. 24. We are just a few short weeks away from the END of the 3-month-long festival drought in EPCOT with the start of EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival! 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Menus have FINALLY been released for the festival, and words can’t express how excited we are. We’ve already been looking through it and making our festival plan, our eyes brightening as we saw more and more options coming back that we’ve enjoyed in years past, and then — wait, what is THAT?! *sigh* The truth is, friends, there are some offerings returning to this year’s festival that, for lack of a better term, BAFFLE us. We try ALL the new eats at the festival each and every year, and often try ones that we’ve had in years past too to see if they’re still worth (or not worth) your money. The Noodle Exchange Booth Not every item at each booth is a winner, and that’s not surprising since everyone’s taste buds are different! However, sometimes there are items that are just REALLY not it, and we expect them to never return again. This alone is why you see entirely new menus at the Italy pavilion nearly every single festival (because, let’s be honest, it’s been a LONG TIME since Italy has had a winner — maybe this will be the year!). Disney doesn’t want to keep hated items on the menu, because then no one will buy them and they’ve wasted ingredients and time on food that won’t get eaten. 2023 Booth Which is why we were SO surprised to see that some…questionable options are coming back to the festival this year. Okay, that’s being kind — the internet HATED these items last year, and yet, here they are again! One of the biggest ones that our jaws dropped at seeing come back is the Pickle Milkshake from Brew Wing! Pickle Milkshake Some thought it tasted more like dill than pickles, and others (who are normally pickle lovers) absolutely hated it. At the end of the day, no one can argue that this wasn’t unique, and we thought it was a little TOO unique for it to come back — we’ve been proven wrong. It’s so…green Also from Brew Wing, the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings are making a return! Like the pickle milkshake, this is VERY unique, but we actually really enjoyed them! Yes, they do really taste like peanut butter and jelly, so if strange-flavored wings aren’t your thing, stay far, FAR away, but it wasn’t too unique that we disliked it. But will they do it well enough AGAIN this year? Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings But this last one, y’all, we’re truly at a loss for words. The Swine Brine is coming BACK at the Flavors From Fire booth, and we’re just shaking our heads. Swine Brine (2023) Hear us out — we’ll try anything once. We’ll even try most things way MORE than that, but the whole team is sending good thoughts and vibes to whatever reporter gets assigned this booth because, well, this drink, made from Jim Beam Bourbon, apple cinnamon cider, bone broth, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard, was on our list of hated items last year. When we first tried it about 4 years ago, we didn’t despise it, surprisingly, but last year, the flavor of bone broth was SO strong we almost spit out the drink. Not only that, the pork inside the drink looked gray in color, which was very off-putting, and our official stance was to stay away. Swine Brine (from 2020) Despite these…intriguing items, we’re really looking forward to the festival this year and can’t wait to bring all the latest news and reviews to you! 25. It’s pizza time!!! Yummmmmm We had a major craving for pizza (preferably not of the puffy kind) and decided to stop by Disney Springs to see how things were going over at Blaze Pizza. While there, we tried some of their brand-new menu items and wanted to share our thoughts with y’all. Atmosphere Blaze Pizza is a casual quick-service restaurant famous for the customizable pizzas that they make right in front of you (think Subway but with pizza!). This is a restaurant chain that exists outside of Disney Springs and is a pretty popular spot for dining. Blaze Pizza Aside from custom pizzas, the menu also features signature pizzas, salads, sides, and desserts. And as for beverages, you have the options of flavored lemonades, teas, beers, and soft drinks. Blaze Pizza menu Blaze Pizza has tons of indoor and outdoor seating, so it’s a great place to sit and eat after a day full of shopping and adventuring at Springs. Indoor seating Menu When we dined in, we noticed that new menu items were being offered, including Fast Fire’d Meatballs, 2 new Signature Pizzas, Spicy Cheesy Bread, and Cinnamon Bread. Blaze Pizza new menu items We decided to order a couple of familiar items along with some of the new options from the menu, to test out if this is a solid option at Disney Springs to dine at. Full Spread Eats First up was the classic Cheesy Bread, which is available for $8.25. The Cheesy Bread is made up of their classic dough with shredded mozzarella, oregano, olive oil drizzle, with a side of red sauce. Cheesy Bread We have to be honest about this one it wasn’t really our favorite. It tasted like standard cheese bread and although it was advertised as having oregano and garlic, our batch didn’t exactly have much of it, so the flavors were very bland, even when paired with the red sauce. We think this would taste better possibly on another visit, but it’s not a dish we’ll go out of our way to order again. Cheesy Bread with red sauce A new menu item added is their Fast Fire’d Meatballs for $6.99. It includes 3 pork/beef blend meatballs submerged in their classic red sauce along with a dollop of ricotta cheese and a banana pepper. Fast Fire’d Meatballs Honestly, we were actually surprised by these meatballs. We were thinking we would be biting into the grocery store/freezer section-style meatballs, but they actually tasted as if they were homemade. The sauce was light in flavor but paired well with the meat. We honestly wish meatball subs were a part of the menu because these meatballs would rock on one. 10/10 meatballs Next up was the Spicy Pepperoni Pizza, a new menu item available for $11.95. This pizza comes with spicy red sauce and mozzarella cheese. It’s then topped with double pepperoni, jalapeño with garlic, and your choice of spicy hot or spicy sweet drizzle. We opted for the spicy sweet drizzle, which was a hot honey sauce. Spicy Pepperoni Pizza Seriously, Blaze ate with this one (or well, we technically ate it), but they truly knocked it out of the park with this signature pizza. Since Blaze pizzas are made inside of an open flame oven, the dough is toasty and crispy and the cheese is perfectly melty. But the combo of pepperoni and jalapenos along with that AMAZING hot honey sauce was just pure YUM. Although we expected the pizza to be incredibly spicy, we would say it wasn’t to the point where we couldn’t enjoy it. We’d say this is a great pizza for those who enjoy a little kick, but if you have a lower tolerance or don’t like spice in general, this may not be your fave. Overall, we’re definitely coming back for this one! Ding ding, we have a winner! Now on to desserts (our favorite part!). We first dug into the S’more Pie which is a classic on the menu. For $3.25 you get melted chocolate and a marshmallow smushed between 2 McVitie’s biscuits. You have the option of getting this pie heated up for you, which gives the marshmallow a more accurate s’more-like consistency. S’more Pie This pie tastes exactly like a s’more and left us wanting more (crickets probably). But honestly, it’s a really good option for a dessert that’s more unique than the cookie or brownie that Blaze Pizza offers. It’s a simple treat, but still very good. A classic treat And last but not least, it was time for the Cinnamon Bread to shine. The Cinnamon Bread is made up of their house-made stretched bread, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and drizzled in royal white icing. This is another new menu item and is available for $4.99. Cinnamon Bread Another surprise hit for us. We were thinking that it wasn’t going to satisfy our sweet tooth since the breading is similar to the pizza dough, but it’s actually way sweeter than we anticipated. The best part about this treat is that it’s sweet without feeling overwhelming, so it’s a solid dessert option if you’re looking for something that doesn’t feel too heavy on the sugar level. The cinnamon sugar was distributed perfectly throughout each piece and the frosting was delicious. We definitely hope this one stays on the menu! Honestly a fun little fall treat! Overall If you’re looking for a more casual spot to eat, we’d say that Blaze Pizza is a pretty solid option! The prices are fair and there’s enough seating where you don’t have to worry about not finding a spot. Not only that, but we very much enjoyed the food we got and will not hesitate to return. Great for guests wanting pizza on property that’s not specifically the Disney kind. Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza Nosh or Not? Stroll on over to Blaze Pizza if… You love pizza! Their pizzas are delicious and with their customizable options, you’ll be sure to find a pie you really dig. You’re looking for a casual bite with less wait times. Disney Springs is a popular spot so other restaurants get pretty busy, especially if you don’t plan ahead or have a reservation. You want to save a bit of your dough. No pizza pun intended, but Blaze’s menu is pretty affordable and it’s filling. So not only do you get yummy food, but you don’t end up spending a ton of money on one dish as opposed to other sit-down restaurants at Disney Springs. Avoid Blaze Pizza if… You want a more unique dish. This is pizza from a chain restaurant that exists outside of Disney property so we understand that when you come to Disney World, you may want to try something more memorable or exclusive. If you’re not a fan of pizza. That may sound silly, but truly, there aren’t a lot of main options on the menu aside from it, so if that’s not your thing, we don’t suggest picking this spot out.
