  1. This Disney World trip R.E.P.O.R.T. isn’t for the faint of heart because I am ready to SPILL the TEA about my latest visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. EPCOT monorail I’ve been going to Disney World since before I could walk and I’m lucky to still live within a few hours of the parks, so I visit every chance I get — for business and for pleasure (I am an editor here at Disney Food Blog after all, so sometimes it really IS my job to go to Disney World!). My latest trip to Disney World was actually to celebrate my latest trip around the sun, and I’ve got some HOT takes about what I experienced. I loved the trip R.E.P.O.R.T. my friend and co-editor, Maddie, recently did after her most recent visit to Disney World, so I decided to steal it for mine! This was just a quick visit to EPCOT — mostly for my birthday dinner (more on that later!) but I was still able to fit in plenty of fun. Reading — All the little non-festival things EPCOT almost always has a festival going on these days, but my most recent visit happened during one of the rare times that there wasn’t. And truthfully, I took my time to appreciate all the little, non-festival things that make EPCOT great all year long. EPCOT Canada Pavilion Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of EPCOT festivals — especially the Festival of the Arts which kicks off on January 17th! But, strolling through the waterfalls back in the Canada Pavilion or taking the time to read all the animal facts inside the Seas Pavilion is a welcome respite from the chaos that EPCOT festivals can be. Eating — Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs I don’t want to toot my own horn, but here at DFB, I’m known for being something of a Corn Dog Connoisseur. So, of course, I had to make my way over to Disney’s BoardWalk during this visit to FINALLY check out Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Let me tell you, trying to decide which corn dog to order from this menu was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made and I’m definitely not being dramatic about this at all. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Eventually, I decided on the Golden Dragon. It’s an all-beef hot dog, fried in a cornmeal batter, and rolled in panko bread crumbs. It’s served with sriracha mayo, sweet Thai chili sauce, and a bag of chips. It sounded like a fancy take on a traditional corn dog without a ton of fuss — but there was, in fact, a fuss. Unfortunately, my corn dog was overcooked and became a pretty greasy mess. Blue Ribbon Corn Dog I know corn dogs aren’t a healthy food, but mine was left in the fryer a bit too long and soaked up a good amount of oil. Not only that, but while I thought the panko would help make the dog crunchy, it actually just turned into tiny little shards of violence that cut up the roof of my mouth. I’ve never really met a corn dog I didn’t like, but this one came pretty close. Playing — The absolute bangers that play when the torches come on before fireworks Is there anything better than EPCOT at night when the sun goes down and the torches around World Showcase come on? Not only do the torches create a whole vibe, but the soundtrack that plays before the Luminous The Symphony of Us fireworks show starts is full of absolute banger tracks. Spaceship Earth Actually, this isn’t even exclusive to Luminous — both the pre-show soundtracks for both the Harmonious and Illuminations fireworks shows were pretty stellar, too. If you spot a short brunette with a margarita in her hand dancing to the music… it’s definitely (probably) not me. Obsessing — over the Reuben Croquettes at Festival Favorites If the Reuben Croquettes at Festival Favorites over at CommuniCore Hall have zero fans, it means I’m dead. These little pockets of joy came back around during the 2024 Festival of the Holidays, and to my absolute surprise and delight, they were still around when I visited EPCOT recently! They’re a potato croquette made with pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese with a thousand island dipping sauce. Reuben Croquettes I first tried them during the Festival of the Holidays and they were easily one of the best things I had at the festival, so when I saw they were still around I had to get them again. The pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese are perfectly balanced and when they’re wrapped up into a mashed potato ball and fried, well, I’m pretty sure that’s the closest I’ll ever get to having all my dreams come true. Recommending– Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya during fireworks For my birthday dinner, I wanted to finally check out Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya in the Japan Pavilion. This is the newest EPCOT restaurant and one that has been on my list to try for a while — and I’m SO glad I did. I timed my reservation so that I’d still be in the restaurant during the fireworks and it may be one of my favorite Disney World experiences I’ve had in a while. Kara-Age Chicken The menu here is primarily small plates and sushi, so we got an assortment — the Bluefin Chu-Toro Nigiri, the Grilled Wagyu Gyoza, the Kara-Age Chicken, and the Beef Yaki-Udon. Each dish was excellent in both quality and preparation, and the service we received was unmatched. Plus, ending my birthday with fireworks was a pretty sweet deal. Treating — myself to a little something because I deserve it “It’s my birthday and I’ll buy myself something if I want to,” said me to me when I spotted this Winnie the Pooh sweater in the UK Pavilion. But actually, shout out to my mother-in-law who ended up buying it for me instead! I’ve been eyeing this sweatshirt ever since I saw it roll out online but couldn’t justify it until I saw it after having multiple margaritas from La Cava del Tequila. Pooh Sweatshirt It was a short trip, but even the shortest trip to Disney World typically ends up being one for the books! 2. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom serves up the best treats to satisfy your sweet tooth! Main Street Confectionery You’ll find caramel apples, frozen Glacier drinks, and many other fun snacks. There are a lot of sweets (and savory snacks) to try at this shop. Plus, if you’re a lover of popcorn, you can create your own popcorn mix or try one of their seasonal mixes at the Kernel Kitchen inside the Confectionery. We recently stopped by for a snack and happened to notice a new popcorn mix being offered! So of course, we had to try it. Currently, at the Main Street Confectionery, you can try either the Valentine’s mix (which is the same as it was last year) or the NEW S’mores mix! Since we have previously tried the Valentine’s mix, we decided to try out the S’mores mix. This popcorn mix is a combination of caramel popcorn, milk chocolate M&Ms, marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, and a drizzle of chocolate on top. S’mores Popcorn Mix For $16.99 you get a tub of the popcorn mix that’s easily shared between 2 or more people. The chocolate drizzle hardens which made it a little hard to dig into at first. However, we were able to crack it apart by pushing on the sides of the container. Once it’s broken apart it creates a yummy candied popcorn bark on top! This is a yummy popcorn mix! You can get the full effect of eating s’mores when you have a piece of every item in your bite. While it’s not hot and gooey like s’mores are, you still get the feeling of sitting around a campfire eating a tasty s’more! Of course, getting a bite of every piece individually is good, it’s even better when you grab a handful of it all together. It’s like eating s’mores around a campfire We always enjoy grabbing these popcorn mixes at the Main Street Confectionery! This was a delicious combination of flavors, and we suggest giving it a try. 5. Construction walls have officially gone up in DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom. The first construction walls are up The first round of closures started on January 13th, 2025 to make way for the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The closures consisted of TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and the Fossil Fun games. We can’t believe the time has finally come to say goodbye. Three major parts of DinoLand U.S.A. operated for the last time yesterday. Today, January 13th, 2025, we spotted the first construction walls up as the land begins to change. Construction walls around Fossil Fun games. DinoLand U.S.A. has been a staple in Animal Kingdom since the park opened in 1998. The story of the land is that an amateur fossil hunter discovered authentic dinosaur bones in this small town which led to many scientists and archeologists moving to continue the search for more bones. Many plants walls! Once the land began to grow, Chester and Hester, two locals, decided to cash in on all of the new residents by opening their own carnival and roadside games. More walls around TriceraTop Spin TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun games were the first to go from this land with Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurs, and the snack stands following later this year or early next year. The exit of Dinosaur. While we are excited about the changes, we won’t deny that this made us pretty sad today. Disney had a good reminder for us posted on some of the construction walls. On one of the walls, you can read, “Change is good” with Rafiki on top. Change is good. In all honesty, this made us shed a few tears because change is good but also hard sometimes. More construction Inside the new land, you can expect to find the new Indiana Jones attraction, an Encanto attraction, a new carousel, food stops, and more. Disney has released several pieces of concept art to give us an idea of what to expect inside the new land. @Disney So today we will check out these huge changes while mourning what’s gone and enjoying Dinosaur while it’s still around. Disney has shared that guests will need to head back in time to help that Dino while they can in 2025. Don’t forget to keep following DFB for more of your Disney news and updates. 6. Astro Orbiter is now closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom. Astro Orbiter is closed The ride officially closed on January 13th for maintenance, and it will once again open later this year. Magic Kingdom saw another ride closure as Astro Orbiter closed for a lengthy refurbishment. The ride joins Big Thunder Mountain in closing. Disney hasn’t given a specific opening date for Astro Orbiter, but they have mentioned it will reopen sometime in the summer of 2025. You won’t be able to ride Astro Orbiter for a few months There are currently construction walls up around the ride that you’ll notice if you ride the PeopleMover. Walls are up It is likely this refurbishment will include routine maintenance that Disney conducts on its rides from time to time to keep them working smoothly and properly. 8. Sometimes you can’t just walk up to a Disney World attraction and get in the queue. Virtual Queue sign up If a Disney ride has gone down and the queue has needed to be evacuated, you won’t be able to stand in line to wait (though you can stand around the ride if you’d like, but we don’t recommend that if the Cast Members are hinting that the ride could be down for awhile). However, there are a handful of Disney World rides that have what are called Virtual Queues, and you must enter one of those to be able to ride. If you’re heading to the parks this year and haven’t been in a while, these are the only rides we expect to continue using Virtual Queues this year. First, let’s review what a Virtual Queue is. A Virtual Queue can be entered at 7 AM or 1 PM via the My Disney Experience App as long as you have a valid ticket, or park pass reservation for that park. Availability often runs out in seconds, sometimes even a single second on extra busy days, so it’s important to be right on the dot. Virtual Queue Once you’ve been told you’re in the Virtual Queue, you’ll be given a boarding group and an estimated time your group will be called. If you’ve gotten an early group, sometimes they’re called before the park is even open, but other times, you could wait hours for your group to be called. Once you get the push notification from the app that your group has been called, you have one hour to return to the ride and get in the actual line (which is much shorter than what the line would be WITHOUT the Virtual Queue) — it’s essentially just a way for Disney to pace how many people are heading to the attraction at one time. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure At the time of writing, the only two attractions in Disney World that use Virtual Queues are Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is also included as part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which reservations can fill up fast for. However, if individuals are able to get a spot in the Virtual Queue for the ride, they’ll often forgo their Lightning Lane reservation, so be sure to check for new availability right after 7AM! Cosmic Rewind, on the other hand, can be bought individually as part of Lightning Lane Single Pass but is not part of Multi Pass. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind We aren’t anticipating any new rides other than the revised version of Test Track to open in 2025, and as there’s already a Virtual Queue in that park, we don’t anticipate Test Track having one when it reopens. We’ll be sure to keep you updated though, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! 4 Rules You Need To Know Before You Use Virtual Queues in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 10. Happy New Year from Disneyland! We’re celebrating this epiphany the best way we know how: with FOOD! We are Disney FOOD Blog, after all. It’s kind of our whole thing. And, it wouldn’t truly be a new year at Disneyland without heading out down to the Bayou! Tiana’s Palace in Disneyland We’re heading down to New Orleans (Square) at this park to check out a festive returning treat that we look forward to getting every year. That’s right — King Cake is back at Disneyland and we’re bringing you our FULL review. Welcome to Tiana’s Palace, where you’ll find all sorts of southern eats and treats — and right now, you can get a King Cake! King Cakes come around to celebrate the New Year in several different cultures, but a New Orleans King Cake is a pastry typically made with cinnamon dough, covered in icing, and decorated with purple, green, and gold sprinkles. You can get the one available at Tiana’s Palace for $7.95. King Cake from Tiana’s Palace Much like holiday fruitcakes, King Cakes can vary wildly and we’ve seen King Cakes pop up around Disney parks before — so we were interested to see how this one stacked up. Unfortunately, this dessert was just okay. It was essentially a cake donut with vanilla frosting and a brown sugar-flavored filling. While we enjoyed all the flavors, the texture of the cake was pretty dry which made it harder to enjoy. The filling had a bit of a crunch to it with a sweet brown sugar flavor, which helped a bit with the dryness — but not enough. The frosting was a sweet vanilla flavor and we got a bit of a lavender and lemony flavors from the sprinkles that paired nicely with the vanilla. If the cake was moist or a bit fresher we could see ourselves enjoying it more. It was a bit on the dry side If you’re a King Cake connoisseur, you might not find this one too enjoyable — especially considering it was missing the tiny little baby that’s supposed to be inside (it represents good luck!) 11. In October 2024, Disney launched a pricey new Lightning Lane service option — but there’s one BIG perk that’s missing! Kilimanjaro Safaris Want to cut down on your wait times on your next Disney World vacation? Disney offers several add-on options that allow guests to access shorter “Lightning Lanes” for select attractions in the parks. But the most expensive Lightning Lane option is missing one HUGE benefit that might make you second guess the hefty price tag! First, let’s take a quick look at the three types of Lightning Lane services that are available. The Lightning Lane Single Pass is essentially a pay-per-ride service where guests pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual, in-demand attraction. This is only an option at 1-2 of the most popular attractions per park, and the pricing varies by date and attraction. Lightning Lane Pricing at Magic Kingdom for January 19th, 2025 The Lightning Lane Multi Pass service lets you bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at multiple select attractions. Guests can make up to 3 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections in advance of their visit, and they can continue to make more after the initial selections are used, holding up to 3 Lighting Lane Multi Pass selections at a time. Pricing for this service also varies, but it tends to be between $15-$35 depending on the date and park. EPCOT Lightning Lane Options While the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass services have been around for a while, on October 30th, 2024, Disney introduced a third, all-inclusive option called the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This add-on is available for guests staying at select Disney hotels and includes one-time entry into EVERY Lightning Lane eligible attraction in a given park for one price, eliminating the need to monitor availability and make new Lighting Lane reservations throughout the day. ©Disney Sounds nice right?? Well, there are a few more details you might want to know before you click that purchase button! First, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is EXPENSIVE. Pricing varies by day and park, but we’ve seen prices as high as $449 per person per day at Magic Kingdom. Lightning Lane Premier Pass Pricing on Thanksgiving Day ©Disney And even with that high price tag, there’s still one major perk that’s missing — there are currently no Lightning Lanes offered for any character meet-and-greets, even with the Premier Pass! Mickey and Minnie meeting in the Imagination Pavilion The wait times to meet the characters can get pretty high, especially for fan favorites, so if seeing them is your highest priority, beware that shelling out the big bucks for a Lightning Lane Premier Pass won’t help you on that front! Cinderella If you aren’t big on meeting the characters and prefer to stick to the rides and shows, then the Lightning Lane Premier Pass could still be a good option for you if you’ve got the money to splurge in your budget. But if your top priority is meeting as many characters as you can, you may want to put that money towards booking character dining experiences where you can meet multiple characters all while enjoying a meal! Farmer Mickey at Garden Grill in EPCOT You can find character dining restaurants in each of the parks — and several hotels — including popular spots like Cinderella’s Royal Table, Garden Grill, ‘Ohana, and Chef Mickey’s, to name a few. Just be sure to make your reservations early, because character dining can fill up fast! 13. BIG changes have hit Magic Kingdom’s flagship merchandise store and we’ve got the photos to prove it! Magic Kingdom There’s nothing like coming home from your Disney World trip with a bag full of new souvenirs. But, if you’re heading to Magic Kingdom soon, it might be a little bit harder for you to shop ’till you drop like you normally would. The Emporium is currently undergoing construction, leaving a large portion of this store unavailable. Greetings from Magic Kingdom, where we’re investigating the sudden closure of part of the Emporium — the flagship merchandise store at this park. Construction walls have gone up around certain areas of the store in order to make some updates. Typically, the Emporium is one large, connected store divided into different sections depending on the type of merchandise. But now, that has changed! Emporium construction This design allows energy and people to flow freely from one end of the store to the other without interruption. You are missing the back section of the last room, but thanks to the design and color palette of the walls, it doesn’t feel like you’re boxed in or like anything is missing. Still able to walk through A Cast Member told us that tomorrow they’ll be adding a trim to the top of the walls, which should help blend everything together even more during this construction. Luckily, Disney has done a good job at keeping this store functioning as a retail space (you still have access to the registers) without feeling confusing or constricting, and how it manages to preserve the charm of a store we’ve always known and loved. It might even hint at what we can expect from the future color palette! Merchandise can still be shopped We’re not sure exactly how long this new “normal” for the Emporium will last, but we’ll keep an eye on the store for updates. We’re in the parks every single day, so we’ll keep you updated on everything you need to know. A typical view of the Emporium In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates from Magic Kingdom and the rest of Disney World! 14. So Disney made a lot of MASSIVE announcements in 2024, especially about the parks. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom We learned about all kinds of new lands and rides coming to Disney World and Disneyland. Now, we don’t have a LOT of details on many of these projects, but we expect to find out more soon, as well as learn more about Disney’s financial state, as a whole. That’s because Disney is hosting its Q1 2025 earnings call on February 5th — and we expect to get some BIG announcements during that call. So here are some of the announcements we expect Disney to drop during the earnings call on February 5th, 2025. Disney World Construction Updates So we have opening timelines for many of Disney’s big projects, including things that are expected to open in the spring and summer of 2025, which really isn’t that far away. So we expect to get exact dates for the first performance of Disney Starlight, Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime parade, as well as the new Spaceship Earth lounge coming to EPCOT. ©Disney We also expect to get specific opening dates for Disney Villains: Unhappily Ever After, a new show coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as the new Little Mermaid show, The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. ©Disney We also hope to get more details about all the OTHER new stuff coming to Disney World (SO MUCH NEW STUFF, y’all). We’re expecting to get more details about the Cars expansion and Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom, the Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios, and Pueblo Esperanza, the new land that will take over Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. @Disney Speaking of Dinoland, we previously learned that we would be able to ride Dinosaur at least through 2025. However, we’re hoping we get an exact closing date for that ride and the complete closure of the land as it gets converted to its new theme. Your 2025 Disney World Trip Is Going To Look DIFFERENT — Here’s Why Disneyland Construction Updates Likewise, we’ve recently had a lot of big Disneyland announcements, too, without any opening timelines. So we expect to get some more specific details and opening timelines for the Avengers Campus expansion that will bring two new rides to the land, as well as the new Coco ride. ©Disney Disneyland is also set to get a new Avatar-themed land, so we’re hoping we also get some more details and an opening timeline for that. Everything That Will Be CLOSED in Disneyland in 2025 Disney+ and Streaming One of the things that will certainly be discussed during the earnings call is Disney’s streaming services. We’ll get revenue and subscriber numbers for Disney+, as well as for Hulu and ESPN+. We may even get an announcement about a price increase for the services later in the year (but here’s hoping not!). But one thing we’ll be looking for is more details about the Disney’s Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo merger that just recently happened. ©Fubo We also expect to learn more about why Disney decided NOT to go through with its controversial sports streaming subscription service, Venu, which would’ve brought sports content from Fox, ESPN, and Warner Bros. Discovery in one app. A Disney Streaming Service Is CHANGING and We Have All Of The Details Here So those are the announcements we expect to hear at Disney’s earnings call in February. However, there will probably be some surprises (sometimes there are), so you’ll want to stay tuned to DFB for more! 8 Disney World Announcements That Rocked the Boat in 2024 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 15. Is it your turn to take center stage? Disney California Adventure There are so many exciting things happening in Disneyland in 2025! From Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebrations to the new Walt Disney – A Magical Life Show, there will be a lot to see and do this year. Thanks to this latest casting announcement, we think there might be something more to see this summer! According to the Disney Careers website, Disney Live Entertainment is casting for a new role and looking for vocalists for a new show coming to the Disney Theater in California Adventure! Hopefully, this means we’ll get an announcement for the Hyperion Theater soon too! According to the listing, Disney is looking for a DJ who is youthful and quirky with “great comic timing.” The show is coming in Summer 2025, and while we don’t have many details we can start getting excited. A look inside the park The listing details that the actors applying should be “vibrant, energetic, and dynamic vocalists.” There is no specification for genre, ethnic, or cultural backgrounds meaning the casting is open to anyone. If you’re looking to apply, the listing says you should be “friendly and comfortable engaging with children, especially in a live performance.” Could this be related to Pixar Fest? Well, it’s complicated. Screenshot from Disney Auditions site This festival took place in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure from April to August in 2024 with tons of characters, special foods, and dance parties. Now there’s really no way to know if this casting news is related to this festival at all but it’s fun to speculate! It is important to remember when Disneyland released its 2025 schedule, Pixar Fest was noticeably absent. It’s a Pixar Party! While this might mean Pixar Fest was scrapped for 2025, we can only continue to hope that this fan-favorite festival will return at some point. This is clearly just us manifesting. Realistically, this will likely be another summertime addition to the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebrations which run until Summer 2026. Some delicious eats from Pixar Fest! So could this finally be your time to hop up on that Disney Stage? Maybe so! Just head to Disney Careers to submit your application online and check in to the audition to be considered. 16. Disney dining is basically our entire life. Mickey Pretzel It’s literally in our name! Eating at Disney World is our bread and butter. It’s why we spend our time creating the ultimate guides to Disney restaurants, the best dishes, and the Disney Dining Plan! Through all of this food testing and guide writing though, we’ve noticed one glaring problem with Disney World breakfast. So you’re heading to Disney World, you’ve planned it meticulously, and you rope-dropped your favorite theme park. This is a dream day in our book with the cherry on top being a delicious Disney breakfast right after you get off the most popular rides with little to no wait. Full breakfast spread at Satu’li Canteen There are tons of great breakfast options in each park like Satu’li Canteen’s entire breakfast menu, the breakfast Ronto wrap, and early morning tatchos. The main problem in our eyes is that these items are only available for limited times during the day! Ronto Morning Wrap We are breakfast people! Disney have you never heard of breakfast for dinner? Breakfast for lunch? We find it deeply important that we can get a breakfast Ronto Wrap at any time during the day because some of our team actually prefers it over the regular wrap. Breakfast at the Cake Bake Shop When we are craving chocolate chip waffles from the Cake Bake Shop, who are we to be denied our cravings? Breakfast at Disney World ends at varying times but typically you can expect most quick services to end around 10:30 AM and some table-service restaurants around 11:00 AM. Steakhouse 71 Breakfast If you’re a breakfast fan like us, make sure you double-check what time breakfast ends at each restaurant before booking a meal. We made the grave mistake once of booking a 12 PM O’hana reservation desperately excited for noodles and chicken wings only to find out from our waiter that breakfast at O’hana doesn’t end until 12:15. This is the reverse of today’s topic but you get the idea. It was tough to change our cravings in the moment. Breakfast Skillets at ‘Ohana are delicious We just want to know Disney, why can’t we at least get the Garden Grill or Whispering Canyon breakfast skillets later in the day? We think the people are demanding change. (It’s us, we’re the people.) Breakfast at Garden Grill Wouldn’t a Mickey Waffle taste just as sweet at 2 PM as it does at 8 AM? We also think Disney needs to consider the fact that while many people love the taste of breakfast but, for whatever reason, can’t grab it before 10:30 AM. Chicken-Stuffed Mickey Waffle at Coronado Springs Maybe it’s the fourth day of your Disney trip and you just need to sleep a bit. You still deserve a Mickey Waffle to snack on! We have been in a position where rope drop is going so well we don’t want to miss out on rides so we’ve missed out on delicious breakfasts forcing us to eat a Cosmic Ray’s Burger at 10:35 AM. A breakfast biscuit from Westward Ho in Magic Kingdom For now, our only option to bridge the gap is brunch in Disney World. Not every restaurant does brunch and some only offer it on the weekends but if you can snag a brunch reservation, we highly encourage it. We did make the ultimate guide to the best brunch in Disney World to make this a bit easier on your trip planning. There are also waffles at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom if you’re looking for something a bit more chill but they haven’t been our favorites since the changes last year. Brunch at Wine Bar George So Disney this is us pleading, give us just a few all-day breakfast options! And no, dry cereal and granola bars don’t count. We want a warm Mickey waffle or breakfast skillet at all operating hours, please. We’re asking extra nicely! Don’t forget to keep following DFB for all of your Disney food news and updates. 21. Moonlight Magic is back for 2025 for Disney Vacation Club members! Moonlight Magic This FREE DVC perk is an after-hours event with low crowd levels, entertainment, free snacks, and meet-and-greets with rare Disney characters. Recently, Disney revealed the dates for the 2025 Moonlight Magic events, and something caught interesting caught our eye! Disney will host Moonlight Magic Events at four theme parks and one water park this year. DVC members will be able to enjoy after-hour events at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney California Adventure, and Typhoon Lagoon. Moonlight Magic at Hollywood Studios What’s interesting is that dates for these events at Typhoon Lagoon have been announced, but Typhoon Lagoon is currently CLOSED while Blizzard Beach is open through the winter months. It’s expected that Typhoon Lagoon will reopen for the spring and summer, but Disney hasn’t announced a specific reopening date. Is it possible that we now know a rough estimate of when the water park will open thanks to the dates for Moonlight Magic? Typhoon Lagoon Moonlight Magic events will happen at Typhoon Lagoon on May 20th, June 9th, and August 11th, 2025. That means that the water park will have been reopened at least by May 20th! Typhoon Lagoon Last year, Typhoon Lagoon reopened on March 17th. However, no times are currently available for the water park on the Disney World website, including May 20th (the listed date of the Moonlight Magic event). We expect Disney to eventually list dates on the website, and it’s likely we’ll see them showing up for dates before May 20th. Typhoon Lagoon We’ll be watching for more concrete updates on the reopening date of Typhoon Lagoon. In the meantime, you can visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach while Typhoon Lagoon is closed. If you stay at a Disney World hotel in 2025, you can visit the water park that’s open on the date of your check-in for FREE. For now, the water park you can visit is Blizzard Beach, but when Typhoon Lagoon reopens, it’s likely Blizzard Beach will close. Blizzard Beach For more Disney news, keep following DFB! 22. Animal Kingdom is about to look a whole lot different. A brand-new Tropical Americas-themed land called Pueblo Esperanza is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027. Animal Kingdom But, this new land is taking the place of DinoLand U.S.A., and the first phase of closures has already happened. And, now that the street carnival known as Dinorama is no more, Disney has rolled out some new park maps for Animal Kingdom in the park and on the My Disney Experience app. Let’s check it out the changes! Welp, it’s official. The first phases of closures have hit DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and to say we’re sad is an understatement. But, to usher in this new era, a new park map has been rolled out in the parks and on the My Disney Experience app, which might give us a clue to just how big the footprint of the new rides could be. Dinoland U.S.A. For reference, here’s a look at what the map looked like before these changes. You can see the Dinorama carnival area in the very center of this screenshot… ©Disney …and here’s what the map looks like now! The entire Dinorama roadside carnival area where TriceraTop Spin and Chester and Hester’s used to be is now entirely covered up by palm trees. Of course, this is just the first phase of closures for DinoLand and as Disney continues to make progress, more closures will be announced. As of now, no official closing date has been revealed for DINOSAUR or the rest of this area, but we’re expecting it to hang around at least through most of 2025. ©Disney But, this new map image may reveal just how big the footprint of the new Encanto Casita ride could be! There’s a lot of room to develop a brand-new ride back there. When the news first broke about Pueblo Esperanza, Disney explained that DinoLand would close in phases, adding that fans would still have some time to visit the popular Dinosaur attraction before it and the other DinoLand rides close permanently. So, while a large portion of DinoLand will be closed soon, Dinosaur will remain open a little longer. DinoLand U.S.A. When the new land is complete, there will be a ride inspired by Casa Madrigal, an Indiana Jones ride, and a carved wooden carousel featuring tropical animals. There will also be at least one restaurant and other attractions, including a large fountain where stories will be told by gathering villagers. The Tropical Americas are home to the largest biodiversity on Earth, so it’s likely we’ll see some amazing details from these areas. TriceraTop Spin One thing is for sure: we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates on the transformation of the Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom. 23. This isn’t Antarctica. We’re not dealing with subzero temperatures or anything, but hey, it’s COLD in Disney World right now! *Cue incredulous laughter from the North* Even in Central Florida, you can experience temperatures in the low 40s — and even 30s — from time to time. So, what do a bunch of Florida locals do when it gets chilly in Disney World? Well, we do something you would NEVER expect. Blizzard Beach What’s the last thing you feel like doing when it’s snowing outside? Jumping in a cold shower? Walking around in shorts? Eating a bowl of ice cream? Surprise! Even when it’s freezing cold outside, the DFB team is eating frozen treats. But there’s a method to our madness! We go to Disney World EVERY DAY, and we’re letting you in on one of our secrets. Yes, it’s COLD in Disney World this week, and that means it’s the perfect time for us to get frozen treats. Yes, that sounds SUPER weird, but hear us out. Look at the PEAK on that Dole Whip mountain When we buy a Dole Whip (or a Mickey Bar, or an All-American Sundae), our first step is NOT to dig in. We need to take photos and videos of those treats to bring to you. (You’re welcome!) And, as you might imagine, that’s hard to do most days in Florida. So, while most people are looking for hot coffee and hot chocolate, you’ll find us in the nonexistent line at Aloha Isle for a cup of Pineapple Dole Whip — because we have a few extra precious minutes before it melts. Time flies when you’re photographing soft serve For comparison, here’s a photo of what happens to our Dole Whip on a hot day. Mind you, this was taken pretty much right after we paid for our treat. In fact, we started snapping photos before we even found a table! DOLE Whip Orange Soda Float Even by MARCH, it starts getting warm in Disney World, as you can see from our half-melted Dole Whip Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl. We never said this was easy, people. Dole Whip Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl So, while we don’t love bundling up on a visit to the Magic Kingdom, at least we have some pretty new snack photos to admire! Ooh la la! YUM! If you see us enjoying a frozen treat in the middle of winter…don’t judge, OK? As you can see, there’s no such thing as an uneventful day around here! 25. There have been a LOT of Spider-Man iterations over the years. Maybe you liked Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, or maybe you were a fan of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. Most recently, Tom Holland has stepped up to take on the role, and there was even an EPIC crossover event with ALL THREE characters at once. Our minds were collectively BLOWN. We love ya, Peter Parker! Look out for Spider-Man! But do you want to know who CLEARLY has something against Spider-Man and his friends? The people behind this $139 Spider-Man set at Target. Every so often, we browse the Target website to see what kind of NEW merchandise is available for Disney and Marvel fans, and we were BAFFLED by this item. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Spider-Man: No Way Home Marvel Legends 6-Inch Action Figures Case of 6 ©Target At first glance, this set of Spider-Man action figures looks pretty normal, right? But the longer we stare into those eyes, the more we start to feel a little…uneasy. Why does everyone look so SAD?! We will say that they TOTALLY nailed Tom Holland’s face. It looks just like the actor! But some of the others… ©Target Let’s look at poor Zendaya for a moment. This figurine does NOT do her — or her character — justice. ©Target And then we get to Andrew Garfield. Can we talk about Andrew Garfield? Look at his face! They did him DIRTY. His Spider-Man action figure looks haggard, and are those dark circles under his eyes?! What did they do to you, sir?! ©Target Over on the left, the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man looks pretty darn realistic, too. But, again, why so SERIOUS?! Are they posing for a passport photo or something?! ©Target OK, thank you for letting us get that off our chest. We feel better now. And, despite the harsh words, this is a pretty cool set for collectors, so if you’re willing to pay the $139 price tag, we can’t even blame you. We collect Disney pins, Loungefly bags, and Funko Pop! figures, so we’re in no position to judge. View on Target In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Marvel souvenirs, so stay tuned for more. Check out our Amazon Storefront for more Disney items!
