Okay, so when you’re looking for a little snacky snack in Disney World, you have a TON of options, including Mickey pretzels, Dole Whip, Mickey ice cream sandwiches, and so many MORE snacks (so many that we can’t even list them all here). American Adventure However, what if you’re craving a classic theme park kind of snack that can satisfy your sweet tooth? If you’re craving a funnel cake, you might just want to head to the Funnel Cake Stand in the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOT. Well, we did JUST THAT recently to get you a full review of the funnel cakes. Atmosphere So the Funnel Cake Stand is basically just a kiosk in the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOT. It’s just a small colonial-looking stand that’s all about that most classic of American snacks, the funnel cake. Now we will warn you, this is just a snack stand and there is NO dedicated seating, so you’ll have to wander around the pavilion to find a place to sit and eat your funnel cake. Funnel Cake Stand But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu As you may have guessed, the menu is ALL about funnel cakes. You’ve got a variety of funnel cakes available, including special special festival-exclusive funnel cakes, as well as regular funnel cakes with sugar, whipped cream, ice cream, and a Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake. The only beverage available here is water. BUT you can also buy a Funnel Cake Kit to take home to make your own funnel cakes. Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We decided to try two of the classic funnel cakes here, starting with the Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake for $15. It’s served with Sugar, Vanilla Ice Cream, Crushed Cookies, and Chocolate Sauce. This is a classic American snack, complete with the whole cookies and cream flavors. Also, we are obsessed with the block of ice cream on top — SO interesting. We did notice, though, that the block melts slower than when they just put a scoop of ice cream on something, and maybe there’s some ice cream science thing happening here…who knows? Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake The funnel cake itself is crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and full of sugary flavor, especially with the powdered sugar. The crumbled cookies add a nice crunch. We also liked that there was a light chocolate flavor that wasn’t TOO chocolatey. The ice cream was nice and creamy and worked well with the funnel cake. If you’re craving a funnel cake, this is it, y’all. A sugary treat We also decided to get a traditional Funnel Cake with Sugar for $10. This is just a funnel cake…with, well, with powdered sugar on top. Now, we noticed that this one wasn’t as fresh as the Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake, but we think it was cooked a bit longer. It was a little crunchier and kinda’ falling apart on us. So yeah, because these are made on the spot, you might see some inconsistencies in the fried dough. Funnel Cake with Sugar However, you’re getting it hot and fresh, and that’s worth it. Also, pro tip: eat it while it’s still hot because it gets a little tough if it sits awhile. ALL the sugar This is one sugary treat, but if you want a classic funnel cake that reminds you of an American fair, this is it. Nosh or Not This Disney World snack spot is a must if… You want a classic American fair kind of treat. Yes, most of us can get funnel cakes everywhere, but if you’re from another country, you certainly need to try this fried dough treat at least once. You have a sweet tooth. If you love sweets, a funnel cake can’t be beat. You want a fresh snack. These are made on the spot, so you’re getting something that is made to order. You should skip this Disney World snack spot if… You don’t want a sugary snack. The funnel cakes here are loaded with sugar, so if that’s not your thing, stay away. You want to sit down and enjoy a snack. Although you might find some seating at the American Adventure pavilion, there is no dedicated seating for the Funnel Cake Stand, meaning you might end up eating it off the top of a trash can. You want a snack that’s not so basic. This is a basic snack that most Americans can get anywhere. If you want to try something a little more unique, visit the other World Showcase pavilions instead. Overall The Funnel Cake Stand fills in space at the American Adventure Pavilion, and maybe for those who aren’t from America, it could be a chance to try a classic American snack. The lack of dedicated seating is off-putting because who wants to eat a funnel cake standing up? Anyway, it’s basic, but it can satisfy a sweet tooth, so there’s that. Luminous at EPCOT This premium experience will feature a “tasting tower of savory light bites, sweet selections, Champagne poured tableside, and event-exclusive cocktails.” Sign us up! ©Disney This is an add-on experience, outside of the normal lounge. Say CHEESE! Yehtta Instant Digital Camera print If you’ve ever traveled to Disney World with a child, you know that youngsters will often want to take photos, which can become a bit of an issue since keeping a smartphone charged is an integral part of a modern Disney vacation. However, we may have found the answer!. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Yehtta Instant Print Kids Camera This camera bundle is currently available on Amazon, and is headlined by a camera that features a 2.4-inch IPS screen, clear 1080P high resolution video, 16x digital zoom, flash light, black and white instant prints, color photo shooting, continuous shooting, time-lapse, and filters, as well as a built-in MP3 player and 4 fun kids’ puzzles. The bundle also includes a 32G SD memory card, a Camera Lanyard, a Type-C cable, and 3 rolls of instant printing paper. Yehtta Instant Digital Camera We actually tried the camera for ourselves and came away highly impressed, firmly feeling that the camera was worth the cost (roughly $40.00). On a visit with kids, our reporter observed that they were instantly smitten with the device curious about how it worked. Instant Digital Camera We were big fans of the rechargeable battery, the fact that the front tear teeth are plastic so you don’t have to worry about cuts to you or your little ones or the inside of your bag. Plus, you can take pictures and videos without printing if you want. Yehtta Instant Digital Camera Now, that’s not to say the camera is perfect. The photo quality isn’t the best, especially of moving subjects. Yehtta Instant Digital Camera In the end though, we felt the camera was great investment for parents who want to give their kids some autonomy in their trips and see the parks through their eyes and things they want to remember. You can even take the SD card out and save the images and videos in full color outside of printing them. It’s lightweight and plastic so it’s not going to set off the security screenings, and it’s fairly durable. Plus, having it for kids to use definitely made the day go smoother. SHOP HERE If you’re traveling to Disney World with kids, we’d definitely recommend this Yehtta Instant Print Kids Camera for your next trip! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips! While she may “tumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen,” Dolly Parton is VERY direct when it comes to her favorite eats at an incredibly popular fast food joint! Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP/Shutterstock Whether you’re the everyman or a country music ICON, most folks have a favorite fast food chain. For Dolly Parton, Taco Bell has a soft spot in her heart, and she’s even shared her go-to order! In an interview with Business Insider in 2024, Parton elaborated on her love for Taco Bell — which included a partnership with fellow musician Doja Cat to promote the return of the Mexican Pizza to the Taco Bell menu. ©Taco Bell In the interview, Parton said she likes soft-shell tacos, “but they fall apart so bad, especially if you’re riding around. So I always get a Taco Supreme, with the sour cream and all that, in the soft shell. I love that.” She’s also a fan of the aforementioned Mexican Pizza, saying she missed the item on the menu and her only fix would be to “make them bigger so I could have more of it!” Parton also orders a side of rice and beans as well as mild sauce. She added, “I don’t like to get it too hot and ruin everything.” Absolutely justified, in our opinion. Anneta Konstantinides/Insider In the past, Parton has reminisced about Taco Bell date nights she had with her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away on March 3rd, 2025. She talked about how they would drive through fast food restaurants and, sometimes, she’d be recognized. ©Taco Bell It’s hard to doubt Dolly Parton’s taste in anything, so we’re sure this order is likely on another level! If you’re planning a trip soon that involves plane tickets, we have news for you! Welcome to the Orlando International Airport Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines has cut back on their flights for the second half of the year but what does this mean for travelers? According to CNBC, airlines are struggling to fill all the seats onboard which means flight prices are going down. ©Southwest Airlines Many major airlines have cut down on the number of flights they’ll be offering for 2025 saying that the U.S. economy is too hard to predict right now. Airfare fell 5.3%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even with spring break and Easter vacations, flights have been down. Southwest Airlines In addition to families not traveling as much, corprate travel also because less common as companies look to save money where they can. Many business travel customers are less price-sensitive when it comes to tickets and often have to book last minute, so without that income, airlines are facing some difficulties. While there might be less flights to book from, airfare will likely be cheaper than normal with more sales and promotions being available. ©Getty Images If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, be aware that even with flight prices lowering, the other costs are not. We’re SO close to the opening of Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Epic Universe, which is officially happening on May 22nd, 2025! Epic Universe Epic Universe brings five new themed lands as well as three new hotels to Universal Orlando, and to say the hype is real is a major understatement. We’ve had the chance to explore the new theme park and we can’t wait to go back again and again. And, if you can’t make it to Epic Universe to see the Chronos Tower anytime soon, you can always plan a trip to New York City instead! Universal went and put a whole dang Chronos Tower in the middle of New York City! The statue work and coins for the actual portals at Epic Universe can be seen here — just like they are at the real park. It’s located about 10-15 feet from where the Rockefeller Tree is at Christmastime, which is a prime spot, and with the nice weather when we visited, the area was crowded and people were meandering over pretty regularly. Epic Universe Chronos Tower in New York City! Essentially, you walk up through a small queue with an employee dressed up in Epic Universe garb. They’ll take your photo in front of the Chronos, which has the concept art of the park entrance. The other side with a screen From there, you walk around to the other side, where the map is replaced by a screen that plays a CGI sizzle reel of each of the lands. It’s about a 60-second loop and shows off the 4 different portals and Celestial Park. At the end, a QR code pops up on the screen, and employees encourage you to scan it for the chance to win a 5-day trip. Sweepstakes All-in-all, there’s not really much to it at all — the whole experience was probably about 2 minutes. But just from placement alone, the NYC installation is being seen by a lot of people. As far as the remaining stops on the Epic Universe Portal Tour, you can see them below: May 16th-18th: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (The Rocky Steps) June 13th-18th: Chicago, Illinois (Pioneer Court) Ministry of Magic Hours are from 10 AM to 8 PM (although hours are subject to change). Those who visit the portal will get a photo op beside it, PLUS see a night show with “dynamic lighting and all-encompassing music.” You can also get a chance to enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Universal Orlando to check out Epic Universe for yourself. Isle of Berk In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Epic Universe and Universal Orlando. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest theme park news! It’s no secret that there is PLENTY to see, do, and eat around the Disney Parks on any given day — and we love it! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland But, what about those days when there’s something EXTRA special going on? You know, when you notice that a ton of people in the parks are all dressed kind of similarly, almost as if there’s a secret event you don’t know about? Well, friends, sometimes that’s exactly the case — just like with Bats Day at Disneyland! We know what you’re probably thinking — what exactly IS Bats Day in the Fun Park? Well, this annual event has been taking place for over 25 years and celebrates all things Disney — and goth! Folks don their spooky — and all black, everything — best to join together in community while enjoying a day at Disneyland. ©Bats Day This non-Disney affiliated event took place this past weekend, April 26th and 27th, with a day at Disneyland Park on April 27th! In the past, hundreds of Grim Grinning Goths all came together to celebrate their love of the parks and all things macabre. There is even a Baby Bats meet-up for little Disney goths, too! ©Bats Day But, Bats Day isn’t the only event that took place at Disneyland this past weekend — TikiLand Day was also on Sunday, April 27th! The fifth annual event celebrated all things Disney and tiki and was created as another excuse for tiki fans to get together in the park aside from on Adventureland Day! Just goes to show you that you never know what sort of fun events might be taking place around the parks whether you know about them or not — but now, you do! ©TikiLand Bats Day 2026 is scheduled to take place on May 3rd at Disneyland Park! Disney World’s Skyliner is temporarily closing early next year, and it’s affecting our hotel choices! Disney Skyliner at Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts The Disney Skyliner system, first opened in 2019, has become one of the most popular transportation methods at Walt Disney World. The efficient gondola system links the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios theme parks with the Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera resorts. In fact, its presence serves as one of the major perks of those respective resorts… when it’s running. Of the four resorts on the Skyliner loop, it can be argued that Pop Century “gains” the most from its presence. While Pop is one of the most uniquely themed hotels on Disney property – – its focus on mid-20th century kitsch makes it a particular favorite of your humble writer – – it is still at its core a Value resort, with Value-level amenities and rooms. Everything Pop Shopping and Dining Compare that to the other hotels on the loop: Art of Animation, while still technically a Value Resort, features an array of deluxe family suites, Caribbean Beach Resort is sprawling Moderate Tier property, and the Riviera Resort is a luxury Disney Vacation Club property. In other words, Pop Century loses the most perceived value when the Skyliner is closed, which is going to be the case early in 2026. Skyliner Station at Disney Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort According to Disney, “from January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.” Inside a Skyliner Gondola During the Skyliner’s refurbishment period, we’ll be skipping Pop Century despite the resort being one of our favorite Disney Hotels, as its arguably biggest perk will be missing. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s refurbishments and how they’ll affect the rest of the resort. Seriously, WHY Do These 3 Things Even Exist at Disney World?! A former Disney World employee has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for hacking into the menu software Disney uses to update its restaurant menus, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Magic Kingdom In addition to prison time, Michael Scheuer, 40, of Winter Garden, Florida, must pay almost $700,000 in fines for his crimes, which included updating Disney restaurant menus to falsely show certain food items didn’t contain peanuts and other allergens. A U.S. District Court Judge sentenced Scheuer on April 23rd, after he pleaded guilty in January to one count of computer fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft as part of a deal he made with prosecutors. He is also required to turn over the computer he used in the offenses and pay $687,776 in restitution to victims. Our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table Prior to being terminated for misconduct in June 2024, Scheuer was a menu production manager for Disney. Since the hack, Disney has changed the software from the Menu Creator that was previously used. He was arrested last October after an FBI investigation. The criminal complaint stated that Scheuer “knowingly and without authorization caused the transmission of a program, information, code, or command to a protected computer and intentionally caused damage.” Within the complaint, Disney is only referred to as “Company A,” but according to Michael Scheuer’s lawyer, the company mentioned in the complaint is, in fact, Disney. Full Spread In his plea agreement, Scheuer admitted to breaching the company’s software multiple times between July and September. He made “notations to certain menu items falsely indicating they were safe for people with specific allergies such as to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish and milk,” the agreement said. He also changed wine regions on menus to areas that recently suffered mass shootings, added a swastika to at least one menu, and changed QR codes to direct visitors to a website that encouraged boycotting Israeli companies, per the agreement. Yak and Yeti full spread! Scheuer blocked 14 Disney employees, including former coworkers, from their company accounts through denial-of-service attacks. The accounts were locked after too many failed login attempts, and he used a script to make over 100,000 automated attempts. The FBI discovered he had also collected personal information about four targeted employees. He initially denied involvement in the cyberattacks and said that Disney was trying to frame him. Full spread The night before he was arrested, Scheuer drove to the home of one of the employees around 11 PM, walked up to the front door, and gave a thumbs up to the Ring doorbell camera. The employee was forced to leave his residence and was placed in a hotel by Disney. Make sure you stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news. It’s certainly a time for expansion for the Disney Parks. Peter Pan’s Never Land at Tokyo Disney Walt Disney World is changing more than one of its parks, and over at Disneyland, a new era is being ushered in as well. However, it’s not only Disney’s domestic parks that are potentially being overhauled and expanded — a new report from Tokyo Disney shows the parks could be in for some BIG changes. The Oriental Land Company, owners of Tokyo Disney Resort, shared very early concept art of potential changes and expansions to the parks over the next several years, including major changes to Adventureland and Westernland at Tokyo Disneyland, along with updates to Port Discovery at Tokyo DisneySea. In the concept art of changes for Adventureland, it looks like the Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, the Swiss Family Treehouse, and the Western River Railroad would be removed to make way for new experiences. The press release didn’t go into detail about these changes, but did give a rough timeline that these changes would take place through 2035. ©Disney From what we can tell, it looks like Paradise Falls from Up might be added to the land, along with what appears to be a playground, a flying swing ride, a rollercoaster ride, and more. ©Disney In addition, new concept art was released showing changes at Tokyo DisneySea’s Port Discovery area. Most notably, the opening day attraction, Aquatopia, is missing. Again, Tokyo Disney did not release any details or explanations along with these images, but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the latest updates for more news. ©Disney It’s entirely possible that these are just “Blue Sky” ideas and plans, which we’ve seen Disney do in the past, but Oriental Land Company certainly knows how to dream big — and to execute those dreams REALLY well. ©Disney While we’d certainly be sad about the loss of these iconic attractions, we can’t wait to see what this new era will usher in. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates from Tokyo Disney Resort, so stay tuned to DFB! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! We’re giving you an exclusive look inside the mind of Disney Cast Members! We love Cast Members! Many of us on the DFB team are former Disney World Cast Members and we’re constantly pulling back the curtain to give you insight into what it’s like to work behind the Disney scenes. For this peek, we’re going over some situations where Cast Members aptly did their job and delivered great restaurant service…and what they actually wanted to say instead. Buckle up, we’re getting real! Reel Your Kids In It goes without saying, but allowing bad behavior from kids at Disney restaurants creates issues for multiple people. Sit back and watch as you dine! From kids throwing food, to climbing on tables and chairs, to disturbing other guests, we’ve seen it all. Bad behavior at the table causes trouble for everyone in proximity, but when parents can control the situation, life just becomes easier for everyone. Yelling at Us Won’t Speed Up Service Believe it or not, screaming at your server never yields anything productive. Cast Members Preparing Orders Berating Cast Members or any guest should never be tolerated. Remember — treat people how you would like to be treated. In fact, by treating folks with respect, you up your chances of getting great service. Please Don’t Forget to Tip We know you’re spending your life savings, but please don’t forget to tip. Cast Members at Disney World work especially hard to bring you that patented Disney quality service, so — while tipping isn’t required — it’s certainly encouraged. ©Disney Tipping may be a foreign concept to non-Americans, so use this point as a reminder for the next time you visit the U.S. and Disney World. Re-Read the Menu This may seem like a silly complaint, but you’d be surprised by how many people don’t actually know what they’re ordering! The menu! Read the menu to make sure you’re not ordering anything with ingredients you might not actually want. Remember, servers and cooks cannot read your mind, so re-read the menu just in case so that the kitchen team can make your order exactly to your liking! Don’t Bank on Free Booze Sorry, we can’t fill your flask with top-shelf liquor and mark it as a use of the beverage portion of your Disney Dining Plan credits. Dining room While alcohol may be included in your Disney Dining Plan if you’re 21 years of age or older, it is to be consumed AT the restaurant in a cup or glass provided by the restaurant. Understand What You’re Getting with the Disney Dining Plan Speaking of the Disney Dining Plan, it’s super important to know what your plan includes, and arguing with Cast Members won’t magically make your food free. The Disney Dining Plan is back! The Disney Dining Plan includes: 1 Quick-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Table-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay 1 Resort-Refillable Mug Popcorn We’ll continue to give you all kinds of Cast Member insight as well as all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned right here at DFB to stay in the know!
