Walt Disney World hasn’t opened a new theme park in nearly 30 years, and an argument could be made that they really should have. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Over the first 30 years of its existence, the Walt Disney World Resort added theme parks with relative regularity. After the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, EPCOT Center came along in 1982, the Disney-MGM Studios in 1989, and Animal Kingdom in 1998. However, for the last 27 years, the company has taken another approach. Instead of opening a new park, Disney has instead added to their preexisting parks, for better or worse. We’d argue that it’s well past time for Walt Disney World to have added a fifth park, and these are the main reasons why. Intellectual Property Invasion Over the last several decades, Walt Disney World has – – somewhat controversially – – added a litany of intellectual properties to the resort: Pandora: The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios, and Frozen Ever After and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. One thing all of those expansions have in common? All of them had to fit into preexisting spaces within their respective theme parks. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Imagine instead if they had debuted as part of a purpose-built new “Worlds of Disney” park? How much larger could the lush landscapes of Padora or the settlement of Batuu have been? Instead of being set within a fictional Wonders of Xandar Pavilion, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind could have been part of larger cosmic Marvel world (which might have negated the fact that so many of Marvel’s characters are legally unavailable to Disney in Florida). Ditto a fully realized Kingdom of Arendelle like the one featured at Tokyo Disneysea. Obviously, some properties would have to still be added to the preexisting parks, but space could have been more evenly allocated across the board. Fantasy Springs Arendelle castle in Tokyo DisneySea Preserving the Past In addition to giving some of these intellectual properties a chance to breathe a bit more, the availability of more space could have perhaps saved some of the iconic parts of Disney history that have been lost over the years. For example, perhaps Monsters, Inc. or Cars could have come to the Walt Disney World Resort without sacrificing the Rivers of America or Muppet*Vision 3D. Again, these are just examples, and surely some classic Disney attractions would still close as change is simply a fact of life when it comes to these parks, but it would have given Imagineering a bit more wiggle room. Kermit in Muppet*Vision Crowd Dispersal This one is a bit of a given, but from an operational standpoint, a fifth theme park could help redistribute crowds around the resort, lessening the overall impact of heavy crowds and wait times at the preexisting Disney World theme parks. Crowds at the Haunted Mansion Perception is Reality On May 22nd, Universal is opening Epic Universe. Some Disney fans – – and Disney executives – – will spin the opening of the new park as “good for Disney”, saying that the company has been “preparing” for Universal’s new park by adding to their existing roster for years. There is likely some truth to this, as historically anytime a new attraction opens in Orlando, it benefits Disney. Universal Studios However, there’s also perception. Not only is Epic Universe going to be a modern, technologically advanced theme part, it’s also the SECOND theme park Universal is opening since Disney last opened one at Walt Disney World. In fact, since Animal Kingdom debuted, Universal will have added two theme parks, a water park, the full CityWalk district, and 11 hotels to their resort. Whether fairly or not, this gives the perception that Disney World has stood pat while Universal has continuously grown. Epic Universe Disney World hasn’t added a new, full theme park since 1998, even though they arguably should have. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World’s evolution. Many people choose to head to Disney World, Disneyland, or Universal Orlando for their family vacations. These theme parks are a classic for a reason! Magic Kingdom Whether it’s due to nostalgia, the magic of Disney, or the thrills of Universal, these are some of the most popular theme parks in the country regarding attendance. However, USA Today just came out with its list of the top ten theme parks in the United States, and Disney AND Universal have been left off of the list entirely. The list was released on April 30th, 2025, and was created by theme park experts. Then, USA Today readers voted on the nominees to see who would make it into the top ten, and, of course, who would come out on top. We’ll be the first to admit, some of the parks on here SHOCKED us. To start, Number 10 is Kings Island (which we honestly thought would be higher up), Number 9 is Holiday World (which is only open from May-November each year!), and Number 8 is Hershey Park (which we honestly forgot existed, for the most part…sorry Hershey). Number 7 is Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which we think lands in a pretty good spot, and then Dollywood comes in at Number 6! We can see that, for sure, and we’ve heard that some people absolutely adore the park, but choosing it over Disney or Universal? We’ll have to see for ourselves one day, that’s for sure. ©Dollywood Number 5 is Kennywood, and Number 4 landed with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (again, we see this one being on the list, but this close to number one? Shocking!). But then, get ready for the real shocker — SeaWorld Orlando landed in the Number 3 spot! We know there are some pretty fantastic rides here, but we really didn’t see this one coming. ©SeaWorld Number 2 is Knoebels in Pennsylvania and Number 1 Silver Dollar City. Needless to say, we’re VERY curious about these rankings, and to see Disney and Universal not mentioned at all was a bit of a shocker. However, we fully recognize that both of these locations are EXPENSIVE, and if the people who voted can make it to these other parks much easier than getting all the way down to Orlando, we can understand. ©Silver Dollar City Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? Disney World’s Lightning Lane system certainly isn’t perfect. Lightning Lane at Expedition Everest In fact, many people complain about the system for one reason or another, whether it be price, ease of use, or the booking process. Sadly, Disney World is likely not going to let us have Lightning Lanes for free again (ah, the days of FastPass+), so if we had to pick one change for them to make to the system, we’d probably want an update to the availability. Based on our many experiences using Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the main change we’d want Disney to make is to give users more availability when booking. It can be incredibly frustrating when you’re willing to pay for a service to make your theme park day more enjoyable, but there aren’t enough options available to make it worth the cost. Lightning Lane So what does “more availability” look like? First of all, users want to be able to book Lightning Lanes even if it’s last minute. Sometimes your park plans change the day before, or Annual Passholders want to stop by without planning in advance. And what happens in many of these cases is that the “good” Lightning Lanes are all booked up. ©Disney If you’re booking with fewer than 3 days to go until your visit, you might be stuck only with the least popular rides, or with times that don’t fall until 6PM or later in the evening. What are you supposed to do for the first 9 hours of your day if you don’t want to wait in line? ©Disney Also, when booking last minute, many Lightning Lane users want guaranteed access to Tier 1 options. You see, at three out of four Disney World parks, the Lightning Lane attractions are split into Tier 1 and Tier 2. When booking before your visit, you can only make ONE Tier 1 reservation, while the other bookings must be made from Tier 2. This is because the Tier 1 attractions tend to be the most popular Lightning Lanes. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight Tier 1 attractions include the following rides: Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Soarin’ Around the World, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Slinky Dog Dash. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane If you’re booking your Lightning Lanes last minute, you may find that all the Tier 1 options for your chosen park are completely gone. That’s definitely disappointing if you were willing to pay for Lightning Lane Multi Pass just to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or Slinky Dog Dash without the wait. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure One possible way to help with availability is to limit purchases of Lightning Lane Multi Pass just a bit more. Some people on our team have shared that they’d rather be guaranteed decent availability of Lightning Lanes and be possibly denied the chance to purchase Multi Pass than to purchase Multi Pass with bad availability. Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival Overall, people want to know that they’re getting value for their purchase. Thankfully, you can view availability before you make your purchase! So when you go to select your Lightning Lanes, you can decide if the cost is worth it before you confirm. We’ve seen some pretty wild pieces of Disney merchandise over the years. Walt Disney World Castle Figurine Sometimes, Disney releases strange designs that leave us wondering how they got approved, and other times, it’s merchandise that costs so much that our jaws completely drop. In this case, it’s the latter — Disney just released a $2,000+ DROID online, and we have no idea what to think. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Nope, we’re not kidding. Disney just released the G1T4-M1N1 Droid online, and it costs $2,875 (yes, we nearly choked on our drink when we saw that number). ©Disney But what the HECK is so special about this droid that makes it worth nearly $3K? Well, its value will ultimately be up to you, but this droid essentially brings to life everything you love from the droids in Star Wars. It’s equipped with sensors and a camera that allows it to follow its owner around with ease, has a cargo bin that can hold up to 20 lbs, and is ready to follow you around on your adventures. ©Disney You heard that right — you can take your droid on a picnic, no picnic basket or backpack needed! Its battery lasts seven hours and has a built-in Bluetooth speaker…but that’s about it. It has software that will allow for future updates, but as of right now, it basically can just follow you around like a glorified suitcase and Bluetooth speaker. But hey — if you’re a Star Wars fan…owning your own personal droid is a pretty sweet accomplishment. ©Disney We know the tech inside of it is what’s worth that cost (to some), but we think we’ll stick with building our own droids when we’re looking to splurge in Galaxy’s Edge. But if you’ve always dreamed of having your own droid friend follow you around, now is your chance! If you’d like one, grab it here! Have an extra day to fill during your Disney World vacation? Try spending it at Disney Springs! Disney Springs This shopping and dining complex has dozens of offerings, from snack shops to gourmet restaurants to brand-name stores. You could honestly spend an entire day exploring the place. But coming soon, Disney Springs will boast a NEW entertainment offering — LEVEL99! Several years ago, a large building in Disney Springs’ West Side area was home to an “indoor interactive theme park” called DisneyQuest. This special offering was available from June 19th, 1998 to July 2nd, 2017, featuring a variety of virtual and/or interactive attractions. ©Disney DisneyQuest closed to make way for the new NBA Experience, which opened in 2019. Sadly, the NBA Experience only lasted a few months, closing in 2020 due to the pandemic, and then never reopening afterward. NBA Experience After the closure of the NBA Experience, the building sat abandoned for years. Aside from a few pop-up experiences, it hasn’t been home to anything operational in FIVE years. Thankfully, Disney has announced something new coming to the space — LEVEL99! ©LEVEL99 LEVEL99 is a destination for “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults featuring over 50 physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. It’s essentially arcade-meets-entertainment center. Sounds fun! ©LEVEL99 LEVEL99 already has a few locations around the country, but the Disney Springs spot will be the largest one yet, with over 45,000 square feet in a two-story space. This area will include a dining location that features Detroit-style pizza and a full chef-crafted menu. ©LEVEL99 According to LEVEL99‘s website, the goal of your experience is to “work with your friends to discover new challenges, collect all the stars, find digital treasure and master new experiences.” If you enjoy activities like escape rooms or obstacle courses, this will be right up your alley! You can play three different kinds of games: rooms, duels, and art hunts. ©LEVEL99 Tickets are required to play the LEVEL99 games, and reservations are encouraged to make sure your group can get in during your desired time. There’s no age restriction, though this does seem to be an experience marketed to adults. ©LEVEL99 So, when can we expect this new addition? Well, there’s no opening date yet, but recently, a permit has been filed to commence construction on the building. The permit was filed on April 16th, 2025, with an expiration date one year from that. ©LEVEL99 So we’ll be waiting with bated breath for any news about this addition. To learn more about what you can check out in Disney Springs, check out our ultimate guide video below! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on all the new things coming to Disney World. We always want to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip, and one thing you need to be on the lookout for is possible closures and refurbishments. We don’t want you to be disappointed when you roll up to your favorite ride only to find out it is closed for refurbishment. Magic Kingdom There are TWO big changes to the closures in Disney World this week, and we want to make sure you are aware of them. Plus, we are also rounding up everything else that will be closed this week. Blizzard Beach Typhoon Lagoon officially reopened on May 1st, while Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishment. However, Blizzard Beach will only be closed for a few weeks this time. Disney has been having one water park open at a time seasonally since 2020, but that is changing this year. Blizzard Beach BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open at the same time from May 21st through September 7th, 2025. That means that soon you will have options of which water park you want to go to. Right now, though, just Typhoon Lagoon is open. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano We are getting close to the closure of this Hollywood Studios restaurant. If you have been wanting to have one last meal here, make sure you stop by on May 10th or before, as the restaurant is officially closing for good on May 11th, 2025. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano The restaurant is closing in Muppets Courtyard to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. themed land. Eventually, the rest of Muppets Courtyard will also close, including Muppet*Vision 3D on June 8th, 2025 (last day to experience the show is June 7th). Keep reading below to see what other attractions and locations will be closed this week, May 3rd through May 10th! Magic Kingdom Playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor children’s playground inside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue closed for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025. While the playground is closed, the ride is still open and available for kids of all ages to soar through the sky! Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor playground is expected to reopen in Spring 2025. Hall of Presidents The Hall of Presidents closed at Magic Kingdom on January 20th. The Hall of Presidents The attraction will be closed until later in 2025, though Disney has not shared a specific date. We will keep an eye out for updates, though! The closure is likely to change the current president, as January 20th marked Inauguration Day. While it is closed, other maintenance and routine work may also be happening. Astro Orbiter If you want to blast off into space, you’ll have to head over to Space Mountain because Astro Orbiter is temporarily closed for refurbishment! Astro Orbiter closed as of January 13th and is planned to reopen in the summer of 2025. No specific date has been announced for the high-in-the-sky ride, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for an update from Disney. Astro Orbiter is currently dismantled! The ride has currently been completely dismantled and is being refurbished elsewhere. It definitely looks a little barren as you are walking into Tomorrowland right now! However, Disney recently filed a permit that could mean the attraction will soon be back in its place in Tomorrowland. 3 Magic Kingdom Restaurants the Experts Refuse to Book Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that has been closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to hang out in Disney World and take a rest, this could be it! Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is also a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we have seen it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! All the New Rides and Attractions Coming to Magic Kingdom in 2025 and Beyond EPCOT Test Track Test Track closed on June 17th, 2024, and Disney is giving this ride a BIG makeover! Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, that was originally there when the park opened in 1982. Test Track Disney shared more details at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, and an updated opening timeline was announced! We’ll be able to ride Test Track once again in late summer 2025. We recently got a look at the new Test Track cars, too. We are getting closer and closer to its reopening! Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is currently closed as a dining location in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when the restaurant could fully reopen. Restaurant Marrakesh Occasionally, we’ll see it open as a lounge or Kidcot Fun Stop. So, if you’re in the Morocco Pavilion, check it out to see if it’s open. We’re watching for updates on when the full restaurant could reopen! “This is what the stink eye was invented for” — Disney Adults Are TIRED of This Restaurant Trend in EPCOT Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom invites you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to Be a Bug is closed! It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. DinoLand Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” These Disney Adult Animal Kingdom Hacks Are Getting Out of Control Disney’s Hollywood Studios Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The Cars-themed show featuring Lightning McQueen permanently closed on October 8th, 2024, to make way for a brand-new Villains show. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The Cars show was previously housed in the Sunset Showcase building, but the last day for guests to enjoy it was October 7th. The new Villains show officially has an opening date! The show will debut on May 27th, 2025. We also recently saw that they have begun to dismantle the outdoor exhibits from Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Voyage of the Little Mermaid As well, Voyage of the Little Mermaid is currently closed in Disney World. A bit ago, we saw that the iconic Voyage of the Little Mermaid marquee has been removed! So far, it is still missing, but we are curious what, if anything, will take its place. Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a new, updated show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” and will be debuting on May 27th, 2025. It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” I Go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Every Week. I ALWAYS Ask for the Back Seat on These Rides Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is undergoing refurbishment Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! REVIEW: Why EVERYONE Should Try This Disney Springs Restaurant At Least Once Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Alright, it is only kind of closing, but we wanted to make sure you were aware! From April 28th until June 16th, 2025, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will be undergoing refurbishment. However, even though it will be getting refurbished, you can still stop by to play a round of golf. Only ONE course will be open at a time during the refurbishment, so you won’t have your choice of The Summer or The Winter Course; it will just be whichever one is open. Winter Summerland Mini Golf As well, Winter Summerland won’t be taking reservations during this time. If you are looking to play a round, you will just head over to the course as a walk-up. You can also head over to Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf if you are looking for even more mini golf fun. Come With Us to a Limited-Time Event at a Disney World Hotel Disney World Hotels Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk is officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Stormalong Bay and Hurricane Hanna’s– Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts Stormalong Bay is the shared pool between Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. It features a beach, a lazy river, a large pool, and an exciting pirate ship slide! When we stopped by recently, we noticed that they were hard at work at Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay Construction This pool area will be closed for refurbishment until June. While it’s closed, hotel guests can use the Tidal (Beach Club), Admiral (Yacht Club), and Dunes Cove (Beach Club) leisure pools. During the refurbishment, Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool bar at Stormalong Bay, will also be closed. If you’re a theme park fan, you know that Universal Orlando’s NEW theme park, Epic Universe, is the biggest news these days. Epic Universe The theme park has been highly anticipated since it was announced in 2019, and many fans are even canceling or shortening their Disney World trips to visit Epic Universe in its first year of operation. With Universal adding a new option on the scene, people are starting to push for a new park from Disney World as well. But as a theme park expert (it’s my job to visit and write about the Central Florida theme parks and their brands), I do NOT want Disney World to introduce a fifth gate right now — for some very important reasons. Let’s start things by acknowledging the differences between Disney World and Universal Orlando. Disney World is already home to four theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and dozens of hotels. Before Epic Universe (and its new hotels), Universal Orlando was home to two parks, one water park, CityWalk, and eight hotels. Universal Studios Florida As someone who looks at financial reports for these two companies as part of my job, Universal is not as close in competition with Disney as you might think. Looking at the theme park segment revenues for the last three months of 2024 (which is fiscal Q4 for Universal and fiscal Q1 for Disney), Universal came in at $2.37 billion (including domestic and international parks), while Disney rolled in a whopping $8.078 billion (including domestic and international parks). Yep, Disney’s theme parks made TRIPLE what Universal’s did during the same time period. Magic Kingdom So when fans assume that the opening of Epic Universe is going to absolutely demolish Disney as a company and wreck them financially…that’s just not true. Universal still has a long way to go to catch up, even if we break things down into domestic park numbers. However, Epic Universe will likely help Universal close that gap somewhat. Portal Entrance to Super Nintendo World From a data standpoint, Disney doesn’t really need to build a fifth gate to “keep up” with Universal — they’re already ahead financially and just in sheer park numbers (4 theme parks vs. Universal’s now 3) and park attendance. But what about from a fandom standpoint? Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Over the past few years, Disney World has been focusing on building new lands and reimagining existing experiences, as well as adding hotel capacity. Those things just aren’t quite as glitzy or glamorous to fans as an entirely brand-new theme park like Epic Universe, and therefore, people rank them as “less important” in their minds. But here’s the thing, Disney World NEEDS to do the smaller expansions before they could ever think about adding a fifth gate. Pandora Most people treat Disney World as an all-in type of vacation. Many stay on property and don’t leave for the duration of their trip, so the resort needs the capacity in the hotels to house a large portion of the people visiting the parks. And in reverse, they need the park capacity to house all the people staying at the hotels. That’s a big priority these days. Island Tower As Disney World builds new lands into the parks — from Galaxy’s Edge to Villains Land — they’re adding capacity to each park. Have you ever felt cramped in Magic Kingdom? Well, adding a multi-acre land with new attractions and shops will definitely help disperse people! It may draw in additional guests, sure, but those crowds will be offset by more square footage and offerings overall. Villains Land Concept Art ©Disney If Disney World were to build a fifth theme park without first expanding its current parks, it would likely draw in SO many people that the current parks would struggle with capacity. Anyone who’s ever been to a Disney World park on a full-capacity day (like New Year’s Eve or the 50th Anniversary) knows just how miserable that can be. So, if they added a fifth park instead of the expansions, you could probably expect more of those jam-packed full days during your vacation. WOW! Could Disney theoretically build a fifth park in Florida down the line? Yes, they could. However, they first need to complete the current expansions planned, and they may even need more hotel rooms to house those extra people that the park would draw. With so many new lands and attractions on the horizon, it’s likely that many of Disney’s resources are occupied at the moment. It takes a LOT to expand the parks and work on a dozen different projects at once. ©Disney So honestly, I’m glad they haven’t announced a fifth park yet. I may be able to hope for that expansion in my lifetime, but first, I want to get more space in the current parks. Additions like Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land have helped with the crowd flow of Hollywood Studios, so just think what Villains Land and the Frontierland expansion will do for Magic Kingdom. Those changes are necessary before we invite thousands more people to come visit Disney World. @Disney If you want to learn more about big changes coming to Disney World, check out our YouTube video below. We’ve got some bad news, friends. Magic Kingdom We’re always doing our best to bring you the latest Disney tips and tricks, and some of those include some shortcuts that Disney may noooot want you to know. We don’t encourage breaking rules, but if you haven’t wanted to pay for your PhotoPass photos, you have been able to screenshot them in the app, as long as you don’t mind the logo across the photo. However, we’re sorry to say that this has now CHANGED! The My Disney Experience App has changed, and now, you are unable to screenshot any of your PhotoPass photos. Instead of seeing your photo, you’ll be met with a white screen. White screen! The same thing happens if you attempt a screen recording –– there’s now no way to get your photos from the app without someone else taking a photo OF the photo over your shoulder, or purchasing the photo/purchasing PhotoPass. PhotoPass Photographer This is an unfortunate change that we know will upset many Disney fans, but alas, at this time, there’s no way around it. From our research, this is the case for both the Disneyland and the My Disney Experience app. PhotoPass photographers in Disneyland Looking for more recent PhotoPass news? Check out our posts below! Disney World works hard to make the parks as safe as possible for guests, but even with all of the precautions in place, injuries can still happen. Cosmic Rewind Safety is a major priority for Disney World, but with millions of people visiting the parks each year, injuries do occasionally happen. And in the first few months of 2025, seven different Disney World rides had injuries reported. Each quarter, a report is released reviewing the injuries reported at the theme parks. Major Florida theme parks must self-report serious incidents where visitors are injured on a ride and are hospitalized for at least 24 hours. The report for the first quarter of 2025 reveals that seven different Disney World attractions had injuries reported during those three months (January 1st, 2025 – March 31st, 2025). Cinderella’s Castle Of the Disney World theme parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios had the most attractions with injuries reported in the first quarter of 2025. Three rides at Hollywood Studios reported serious injuries: Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Alien Swirling Saucers. There was one injury reported at each of the attractions. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster One injury was reported at two different Magic Kingdom attractions: Peter Pan’s Flight and Mad Tea Party. Peter Pan’s Flight An injury was also reported at two EPCOT attractions: Frozen Ever After and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Frozen Ever After During the first quarter of 2025, Disney’s Animal Kingdom was the only Disney World park with no attractions that had reported injuries. Again, this report only includes serious injuries that required at least 24 hours of hospitalization, so incidents where someone had a minor injury but continued on with their day are not counted. Tree of Life While serious injuries are relatively rare, it’s important to take steps to reduce your chances of getting hurt while visiting the parks. The precautions you can take include reading warning signs, checking in with your body, listening to Cast Member instructions, and being cautious as you experience attractions. Not all injuries can be prevented, but being mindful of these preventative steps can help keep you safe. Always read the warning signs! We’ll continue to check in with more theme park news, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates!
