We have been waiting patiently since we first heard the announcement, and the day has finally arrived. The doors to Amorette’s Patisserie have officially opened! Learn About: Amorette's Patisserie Downtown Disney Disney World Restaurants The brand new, upscale bakery joins other boutique sweets spots, like Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, The Ganachery, and Vivoli Gelateria, at Disney Springs this week. The work on the newly re-imagined shopping and dining district is just about complete, and it’s pretty amazing. But along with other carts and shops, Amorette’s Patisserie has been on our short list of places to anticipate! Let’s head in and take a look around. Atmosphere Step into the newly opened Town Center at Disney Springs and you’ll soon locate Amorette’s Patisserie. The Disney-created back story is charming: artistic sisters Kara and Sara are the current owners of the shop, which has been passed down through many generations of their family. The shop dates back to the earliest days of Disney Springs, around 1900. Amorette’s Patisserie Sign Amorette’s Patisserie — Outside But the sisters are as interested in artistic expression via beautiful and delicious pastries as they are in other forms of art. And so you see evidence of their handiwork throughout the shop. We’ll get to some sweet examples in a minute, but first, let’s look around a bit. I was expecting more light from above, like an artist’s studio. Instead, ceilings are high, with warm wooden beams and whimsical painted touches outlining some of the wood. Inside Ordering Area and Lines on Opening Day Ceiling Detail This Tiffany-inspired chandelier is framed by beams, and stands out over the front entrance of the store. Stained Glass Chandelier and Ceiling Details The round pedestal table directly below gives you a hint at some of the treats you can enjoy at Amorette’s. You can see the artistic references in the presentation — like the cookies in the artist’s paint box. Display at the Front of the Store I love the vintage-looking glass cloches — but don’t be tempted to grab a treat from beneath one. Those are for display only. Macarons On Display Ultimate Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Cookies are packaged and ready to go, but you can also get them warm if you prefer. Amorette’s Ultimate Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies on Display for Purchase Macarons in a myriad of pastel colors also make a nice take-along treat. They come six to an order, and flavors include Cassis-Violet, Caramel Sea Salt, Pistachio, Chocolate, Passion Fruit, and Citrus. Macarons on Display for Purchase It’s an interesting aesthetic. Bumped up against the vintage decor and pink packaging, you have surprising “pops” of color, like this display in the show kitchen area. Looks a lot like a collection of paints for the artists, doesn’t it? Decoration in Work Area More Colorful Artistic Decor We also spied some colorful and surprising artwork on inspiration boards. Once again, the theme of Amorette’s being part artist’s studio, part patisserie is driven home by the translation of the painting’s palette into cake. Inspiration Board Inspiration Board Beyond the main ordering area and to the left, you’ll find a separate counter for Beverages. Here, you can enjoy a variety of drinks. There’s milk for dunking cookies, of course. But there’s also a variety of Joffrey’s Coffee and Espresso. If you’re looking for dessert in liquid form, Amorette’s Hot Chocolate Ganache with Chantilly and Shaved Dark Chocolate will fit the bill nicely. Beverage Ordering Area Beverage Station Fix your coffee just the way you like it at the Beverage Condiment area, which sits to one side. Check out the tile work! Beverage Condiments Or you can elevate your pastry experience with a glass of Champagne or Sparkling Wine. At present, they offer Taittinger Brut La Française, Iron Horse Fairy Tale Celebration Cuvée Brut, Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco, and Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Red. Champagne and Sparkling Wines Chilling And — surprise! — there is seating here! You’ll find actual tables and chairs, but there are also bars at which you can stand and snack. The set up is similar to what you find at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion. Indoor Seating There is additional seating outside too, if you prefer dining al fresco, and pergolas filter the light, especially as the sun is setting. Outdoor Seating Outdoor Seating Back inside, you might be wondering how it all works! Cake Pick Up Sign Let’s take a little tour of the show kitchen and pastry cases to get a feel for things. Amorette’s Patisserie Show Kitchen Speaking of the Show Kitchen, it’s an extra special treat to watch the pastry team put together these edible masterpieces. This place really is equal parts art studio and bakery. A Cast Member Creating Pastries Creating Tiny Masterpieces Decorating the Finished Pastries While watching the action, we spied Amorette’s Signature Cake on display. Amorette’s Signature Cake Cake on Display We’ll be talking a little more about this one later (and we’ll give you a peek inside!) Eats The space is lovely and watching the the culinary team craft individual treats is mesmerizing. But at the end of the day, I wanted to dig in and sample. After all, pretty is great and all, but delicious is best. To assist us in ordering on opening day, the bakery actually had card stock menus, so I snapped pics of them for you to see all that’s available. Amorette’s Patisserie Menu — Click to Enlarge Amorette’s Patisserie Menu — Click to Enlarge It’s a lot to take in, so we’ll take them as they come. We’ll start with the Mickey Financiers. Like the Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Cookies we spied earlier, these are boxed up and ready to go for guests who are looking for a pastry fix tout de suite. Mickey Financiers Financiers are small sponge cakes, usually with almond flour in them, and these are marked gluten friendly. (We’re seeing this term used more and more when a restaurant wants to indicate that there is no gluten in the recipe, but they aren’t prepared to declare an item totally gluten free due to the presence of gluten in the kitchen.) Mickey Financiers — Up Close in the Box Diving into the large bank of refrigerated pastry cases, it’s important to note what you will not find at Amorette’s. This is not a Disney Confectionery stop like Big Top Treats, Sweet Spells, or Zuri’s Sweets Shop. There are no Caramel Apples (Mickey or otherwise), Marshmallow Wands, Krispies, or other familiar treats. Likewise, you won’t spy boxed “generic” Disney candies for sale anywhere. For now, anyway, they seem to be staying true to the story. Yep, there are some Mickeys (and Minnies), but they’re all woven into the ethos of the spot. As promised, Amorette’s is more than just a stop for a pastry. The shop also creates large cakes. We saw a few different varieties on display while there. The Macaron Cake is a showstopper. Featuring Lemon Chiffon Cake, White Chocolate Mousse, Raspberry Pate de Fruit Jelly, and Italian Buttercream, the cake is trimmed with Macarons and topped with a Gold Leaf-Flecked Rose. How much would I love to see inside this one! Macaron Cake But I’m guessing that many Minnie fans will adore the Minnie Cake. Similar to the Macaron Cake, this one features a Lemon Chiffon Cake and White Chocolate Mousse as well, but the Pate de Fruit Jelly here is Strawberry. (Dome cakes fashioned after all of your other favorites — Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto — are also available for order.) Minnie Cake We also caught a glimpse of the shop’s Signature Cake, boxed up and ready to go. Signature Amorette’s Cake — Up Close Eleven layers here include (hold onto your hat): Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Cake, Cherry Mousse, Chocolate Mousse, Raspberry Pate de Fruit Jelly, and Italian Buttercream — all under a blanket of Hibiscus Fondant. (We’ll give you a look inside in just a sec.) Signature Amorette’s Cake Which one do you want to try first? We can’t decide! While we’re all deliberating, we’ll check out the individual desserts. Many come with whimsical names that sound like (surprise!) paintings. For purists out there, there’s the 49th and Broadway — N.Y. Cheesecake. It’s dressed up with Lemon Curd, Blueberries, and Chantilly. 49th and Broadway — New York Cheesecake Next, you can savor the Avant-Garde, a Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Chiffon Cake. Avant Garde — Chocolate Mousse We spied a Caramel and Coffee Eclair, but the menu hints that other flavors will be available. Caramel Coffee Eclair Dancing with Pavlova is as delicate as a ballerina, and offers Meringue Crisps sandwiched together with Raspberry Pate de Fruit Jelly. Dancing with Pavlova — Raspberry Pavlova The dramatic Palais Garnier is Chocolate Opera Cake with layers of Almond Cake, Chocolate Ganache, and Coffee Buttercream. Palais Garnier — Paris Opera Cake But Reflections in Memphis is the answer to your salty-sweet cravings. The dome-shaped sweet includes Peanut Butter Mousse, Toasted Cake, Banana Pate de Fruit Jelly, and Caramelized Bacon. Is this the new King Cupcake, do you think?? Reflections in Memphis — Peanut Butter Mousse Dome Sunrise Tokyo Bay features some wonderfully unique flavors. This Yuzu Chiffon Cake includes Green Tea, Yuzu Jam, and Mandarin Orange. Sunrise Tokyo Bay — Yuzu Chiffon Cake The Viennese Waltz is Amorette’s take on another classic confection, the Sacher Torte. This version stays uber true to tradition with Chocolate Almond Financier Cake and Apricot Jam! I’m so excited to see this. Viennese Waltz — Sachertorte Strawberry Fields of O.C. will have strawberry-lemon lovers singing for sure. This square offers Lemon Curd, Strawberry Mousse, and Basil Sugar. Strawberry Fields of OC — Strawberry Tart For our final treat, we travel to the Southermost Spot in the U.S. and pay homage to Key West with the Sunset on Mile Marker 0 Key Lime Tart. Sunset on Mile Marker 0 — Key Lime Tart So…what did we order?? Glad you asked. Here at Amorette’s it’s a lot like the set-up at the Ganachery — a cast member guides you through the process like a personal shopper. Lemme tell you — it wasn’t easy to make decisions! Since I was “eating in”, I was handed my order on this beautiful hammered copper tray. It was a nice touch. Assembling My Order Since it was still pretty crowded in there, I headed outside where the light was better and it was a little quieter so that I could enjoy my treats. My Order! Our Order and the Beautiful Copper Tray I started with the Avant Garde — Chocolate Mousse. Deep, rich, and chocolatey, this is definitely going to hit the spot for chocolate fanatics. Avant Garde — Chocolate Mousse One word of advice, though — don’t plan to take this one home with you. The mousse isn’t going to stand up to the Florida heat for long. We loved the nod to the Big Cheese on the gold medallion. This one is suuuuuuper rich, and you’re definitely going to get the hints of coffee here. Plan to share it if you don’t want chocolate overload. Avant Garde — Chocolate Mousse — Cross Section But you know we’re lovers of Key Lime here! So we had to represent and get the homegrown choice. Sunset on Mile Marker 0 is a lovely upscale tribute to this classic dessert. Besides, that tiny Macaron on top is too cute to pass up! Key Lime Tart The light and crispy Macaron base and Graham Cracker Crust made this extra special, and the rings of sweet White Chocolate garnish complemented the strong and tangy lime nicely. Key Lime Tart — Cross Section Speaking of Meringues (not AJ’s favorite, but we digress ), the Dancing with Pavlova was definitely very pretty. Raspberry Pavlova — Up Close The airy light dessert is perfect for someone who likes just a whisper of something sweet. With no overtly rich components, you definitely won’t feel weighed down with this one. It’s your ethereal choice. Raspberry Pavlova — Cross Section We couldn’t resist the chance to sample Sunrise Tokyo Bay, which brings together the tang of Yuzu (an Asian Citrus Fruit that tastes a lot like key lime) and the herbal grassy notes of Green Tea. Yuzu Chiffon Cake Matcha lovers will dig this one, because those flavors are VERY strong. But the more I ate, the more the other flavors balanced out and came through. It was a showstopper both in terms of looks and taste. Yuzu Chiffon Cake — Cross Section While it would have been wonderful to dig into one of Amorette’s large cakes, you guys weren’t there to help me. And so, I settled for the Petit version. Signature Mini Cake — In the Box The packaging really makes this something special. I could see splurging on a petit cake for a special occasion. (Like, you know, Thursday.) Signature Mini Cake — Box Opened I really wanted to see inside the Signature Cake for myself, so it won today. (I have a feeling I’ll be back for others.) The small version of the signature cake is enrobed in Fondant, but it’s Vanilla, rather than the Hibiscus Fondant that covers the larger version. The covering is pliable and delicious — not stiff or dry like I was afraid it would be. And I love the beautiful decoration, including the White Chocolate Rose Petal. The piping is the same design you’ll see throughout Amorette’s in the decor and touches. Signature Mini Cake — Top View A ribbon trims the base, and it’s secured with a Chocolate Seal bearing the shop’s initial. Signature Mini Cake — Side View But cut into it, and you see the real drama. There are those lovely layers of moist cake, mousse, and jelly filling. A thin layer of Buttercream helps the fondant to adhere to the cake. The large version of this cake has 11 layers, and this one looks to have about 9 or 10. Signature Mini Cake — Cross Section This petit cake was absolutely my favorite thing I tried. And don’t let its demure size fool you — it’s so rich, you’re gonna want to share. Overall Amorette’s did a good job at kicking things off during our first visit, and we look forward to returning to see how the shop continues to evolve. Besides, we still need to try Reflections in Memphis and that Dreamy Hot Chocolate! As we wrap up this first visit, we’ll go over a few housekeeping items. At this point, it looks like only non-alcoholic beverages are available on the Disney Dining Plan. Also, while there were a few large cakes on display when we visited, you’ll want to give Amorette’s 72 business hours advance notice when ordering a cake. To order, just call 407-934-3500. Cast Members let us know though that they hope to have online ordering available within the next six months or so. Will you be visiting Amorette’s during your next trip to Disney Springs? Invictus Games Orlando 2016 wrapped up last week after several days of competition in 10 sports at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Many of the athletes train year-round in their sport, but there are some K-9 heroes who work 365 days a year helping their humans to be the best they can be. Several Invictus Games competitors and their service dogs took a break to have a playful meet up with Mickey Mouse and Pluto at Shades of Green Resort here at Walt Disney World Resort on the last day of competition. I spoke with two competitors from Team U.S.A. who shared their stories of how their service dogs have impacted their lives. Take a look at this video to hear their inspiring stories. Recently I found myself very fortunate to rescue/adopt a sweet, sometimes tenacious, 1-year-old dog. Of course, I immediately started to try and think of names, and after seeking recommendations from family and friends, we landed on Bella, and on occasion, I shorten it to Belle. What can I say? Once a Disney fan … always a Disney fan. So it should be no surprise that when I heard the team in Adventureland Bazaar, one of our main shopping destinations in Adventureland at Disneyland park, was adding a special touch to the purchase of unique jungle themed plush, I couldn’t resist sharing their story. “There’s no monkeying around when it comes to having our guests choose a special plush friend or animal to take home with them,” said Angie Medina. “Our cast members take it one step further, asking our guests to select a name for the new addition to their family, encouraging them to take a special oath to protect and care for their new jungle friend and even providing them with a special certificate.” “I couldn’t help but give in and adopt one myself,” said Angie. “I chose a cuddly monkey and named him Bananas, of course.” I assure you, getting the chance to do this is not just for kids, it’s also for kids-at-heart. As you can see, some of my friends went a little “wild” when I told them about this exciting opportunity. What did they name them? Starting from left to right: Dmitry, Jack, Lily, Snitch, Sophia and Trace. Have you had the chance to take part in this special activity in Adventureland? View the full article

I’m already excited for one of my very favorite Disney World restaurants — the Flying Fish — to reopen from its current major refurbishment. Learn About: Flying Fish Cafe Boardwalk Restaurants Disney World Restaurants And now, we have more details regarding what some of the changes will be when this signature restaurant makes its debut as the Flying Fish (nope — “Cafe” will not be in the name moving forward). Flying Fish But first, let’s take a glimpse at concept art for the updated interior of the restaurant, which will have a new kitchen and dining room (as well as new options for private dining). The chandelier you see on top of the artwork “mimics a school of flying fish swimming overhead,” and golden-winged room panels are also being added to the main dining room. Looks like quite a change from the previous decor — a whimsical celebration of life on a turn-of-the-century Boardwalk! In fact, is anyone else getting a kind of Bluezoo vibe from this? ©Disney Chef Tim Majoras — who will be leading the Flying Fish team (of which he’s been a member since 2011) shared a glimpse of what to expect from the refreshed menu. New among the starters will be a Seared Yellow Fin Tuna served with compressed watermelon, avocado slices, crisp radishes, and pickled daikon complete with a small edible viola flower and drizzle of blood orange oil. ©Disney The new menu will have a focus on sustainable fish, with a Fruits of the Sea appetizer featuring Florida rock shrimp and clams, grouper cheek, and mussels along with a splash of brandy and lobster stock. This dish will be served over a celery root puree. Regarding beverages, the General Manager and Sommelier for Flying Fish, Stig Jacobsen, shares that there will be a more “in-depth wine list” thanks to expanded wine storage space. AbracadaBar Lounge And guess what? Now we FINALLY know what’s to become of the space that was once Seashore Sweets! The former ice cream and candy shop is transforming into the AbracadaBar lounge, billed as a “curious cocktail lounge.” (Sounds like we’ll finally NOT have to walk through a candy store in our signature dinner finery to get to the restrooms. ;-D) ©Disney As the story goes, “the lounge was once a secret stomping ground for famous touring magicians, local boardwalk illusionists and the loveliest magician’s assistants of the day. After every magic show, these prestidigitators would gather at the bar, where they’d conjure up new cocktails, swap magic tips and tricks, and often stay up all night attempting to “out-charm” each other with their extraordinary illusions. According to BoardWalk lore, it was on just such an evening that every single magician in the lounge vanished into thin air, never seen again… And after sitting vacant for nearly 70 years, the secret magician’s lounge is now back in the spotlight.” Rumor has it, according to the story, that the magic of the magicians lingers in the space and can still be experienced through sight, sound, and taste (via the signature cocktails in the lounge). Vintage props, tricks, “enchanted” magic show posters and mystifying mirrors have been left behind, just waiting to be discovered by modern-day Boardwalk visitors. So, it seems the Boardwalk touches will not be entirely lost after all! And I don’t know about you, but I think this sounds AMAZING!! It seems like it might feature interactive elements like Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto with an upscale, magical twist! No official opening date has been announced for AbracadaBar and the new Flying Fish, but according to Disney, menus and opening dates should be revealed soon. Look for a late summer date to be announced. ©Disney Again, I LOVE the Flying Fish, and was more than a bit hesitant when the refurbishment for this space was announced. I’m intrigued to see how it turns out! How about you? What do you think of the latest news regarding the Flying Fish’s refurbishment? Please let us know with a comment! Bringing kids on a Disney Parks vacation is such an exciting adventure for both the little ones and parents. With so much to see and do, it can be incredibly helpful to receive tips from other parents who have been there, done that! The Disney Parks Moms Panel is a great resource for advice and tips from real moms, dads and grandparents. Catherine from NC is planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort with her 2 1/2 -year-old daughter, and asked the Panel for their insight. Five different panelists weighed in and offered up tips for a smooth vacation that included everything from daytime naps at the resort and using the in-park Baby Care Centers, to character dining experiences and attractions that are perfect for even the youngest guests. We heard from Caroline from North Yorkshire, who is vacationing at Disneyland with her 15-month-old son. One of our Moms Panel Disneyland specialists, Kiki, recommends checking out height requirements in advance via the Disneyland mobile app to plan which attractions to visit. Kiki also suggested a few must-do attractions based on what her own children love. If you have any questions about your Disney Parks or Disney Cruise Line vacation, be sure to visit www.disneyparksmomspanel.com for a personalized response from our knowledgeable panel. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, Disney’s Animal Kingdom comes alive with an incredible array of evening entertainment, from live performers in the African village of Harambe to the all-new show “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic,” allowing guests to experience the park in a magical new light. As day transitions into night over the center of the park, a vivacious group of musicians and performers host a festive celebration of nature, the Discovery Island Carnivale, spreading from one end of the island to the other with lively music and dance, vibrant costumes, delectable food and drinks, and more. This exuberant gathering begins as a procession leading to the Discovery Island stage and continues well after dark with a joyous party featuring the Viva Gaia band and a spirited group of islanders. Throughout the evening, you’ll also want to be sure and catch the Discovery Island Sunset Serenatas, as another of the island’s musicians electrifies us with a virtuoso performance on the Paraguayan harp. His fingers dance on the strings, as he raises his instrument toward the treetops in celebration of the magic of nature. Like a beacon, the Tree of Life draws us to the heart of Discovery Island, and there, the animal spirits of the Tree reveal moments of wonder and enchantment, delighting those fortunate enough to have witnessed the spectacle and inspiring them to carry on the celebration. It’s true what they say on Discovery Island – the more you look, the more you see! And you’re invited to see just how much fun you can have, when Discovery Island Carnivale begins later this month. A new flavorful ice cream parlor called Ample Hills Creamery opened to Disney guests yesterday, May 15, at Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment, dining and shopping area. In keeping with the timeless charm of the 1930’s Atlantic coastal atmosphere surrounding Disney’s Boardwalk, Ample Hills Creamery is a whimsical take on the turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor. The bright, colorful shop is located next to ESPN Club, overlooking Crescent Lake. Inside the Creamery, ice cream aficionados can sample as many flavors as they’d like, including a variety of 16 signature ice cream flavors. On a recent visit to Disneyland Resort, Pilar Hamil, general manager of Disneyland Hotel invited my friend and fellow Disney Parks Blog author, Erin Glover, my coworker and friend, Karen McClintock, and I to join her for Classic Afternoon Tea, a new offering at Disneyland Hotel. You may not know this, but Pilar is a Tea Master, accredited by the International Tea Master’s Association, and she’s the only one at Disneyland Resort. Pilar’s love of tea began as a child, when her mother would serve tea and cookies for her and her siblings after school. While we were talking, we all agreed our love for tea began with taking a moment to sip some tea and spend time with loved ones. For me, it started with the ritual of after-dinner tea with my grandma and grandpa every night. Pilar’s love for tea and attention to detail shine through in the Classic Afternoon Tea, which she developed and brought to Disneyland Hotel. The cast of Steakhouse 55 has embraced her passion for afternoon tea through training led by Pilar about the story behind each delicious tea on the menu and proper steeping techniques. The impressive tea list includes 12 varieties, including white, green, black and herbal. Aperitifs, wines by the glass, ports and cordials are also available. Our group enjoyed the Classic Tea Party, which includes traditional scones with seasonal fruit preserves, Devonshire cream and lemon curd; tea sandwiches including cucumber and watercress, salmon gravlax, deviled cage-free egg salad, heirloom tomato and mozzarella. Desserts included chocolate covered strawberries, mini fruit tarts and assorted macarons ($50 per person). We followed Pilar’s advice and ate from the top to the bottom of the tower, starting with the lightly sweet scones, then the savory sandwiches and ending with the sweet desserts. Those with food allergies will be happy to know gluten-friendly options are also available. For $15 more per person, you can enjoy the Premium Tea Party, which includes sparkling wine, a salad with green goddess dressing and a decadent farewell truffle in addition to everything served in the Classic Tea Party. Young tea lovers will enjoy the Kids Tea Party, with a delicious chocolate chip scone and tea sandwiches including peanut butter and jelly, cucumber, and ham and cheese. Desserts include chocolate covered strawberries, mini fruit tarts and assorted macarons. Assorted loose-leaf teas, juices, milk and hot chocolate are included. Cost is $35 per child. Everything about Classic Afternoon Tea at Disneyland Hotel is extremely elegant. Delicious food is served on beautiful Wedgwood china – a classic design with simple, clean lines. Classical music fills Steakhouse 55, which really takes on a bright, beautiful look during the day. It’s a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else at Disneyland Resort. Reservations for Classic Afternoon Tea at Disneyland Hotel can be made by calling 714-781-DINE or by visiting Disneyland.com/dine. View the full article

My friends, the daily routine has just stepped up a notch… Learn About: The Daily Poutine Downtown Disney Disney World Restaurants … thanks to the arrival of The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs! The Daily Poutine is one of four new Disney owned-and-operated food kiosks joining Disney Springs. B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. and YeSake also opened on Sunday, May 15th, while AristoCrepes will make its debut on May 22nd. The Daily Poutine serves up the traditional Canadian dish of hot fries topped with gravy and cheese curds — along with a few twists on the classic. And though its arrival was only announced a few weeks ago, DFB Readers have been positively itching for a Poutine stand for ages! Until now, Poutine has only been available at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Epcot’s Canada Pavilion (and even there, the focus has been on non-traditional takes on the dish). The Daily Poutine sign So it’s with an extra bit of excitement that we bring you this review of The Daily Poutine! Atmosphere Check out the cute little brick building that is home to The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs! The Daily Poutine Located across from the new Amorette’s Patisserie (at the beginning of the new Town Center neighborhood right around the corner from the World of Disney and Lego stores in the Marketplace), it has an added bonus of a beautiful fountain structure right in front. Fountain in front of The Daily Poutine Colorful flowers surround the fountain, too. Flowers For a small spot, the start of the queue was placed right by the fountain. That may be because Disney figured this one might be a real hit. And judging by opening day lines, that looks to be the case… so far, anyway! The lines at The Daily Poutine And you’re about to see why… The Daily Poutine Eats Of course, it’s all in the name at The Daily Poutine, where the menu revolves around the traditional Canadian dish, Poutine! You’ll find four varieties listed on the menu: the Classic, along with Latin, Italian, and French variations. The Daily Poutine menu Drink options include draft beer; specifically Unibroue Blanche de Chambly Witbier — which I think some DFB Readers will be pleased to see — and Yuengling Traditional Lager). A Fireball Sangria, Watermelon Lemonade, and Coke Products round out the beverages. Let’s dig right into the Classic Poutine, thick-cut Fries topped with Beef Poutine Gravy and Cheddar Cheese Curds! Classic Poutine Well, my Canadian friends, I’ll let you make the final call, but I’m thinking this is the real deal! What I can tell you FOR SURE is that the thick white cheddar cheese curds and the rich brown gravy are pretty much making my life complete. I was pleased with the amount of each, which wasn’t stingy. Oh, and there are FRIES in there, too ;). No, in all seriousness, the fries are terrific — thick cut, hot and fresh. The closest comparison are the awesome chips served at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in Epcot’s UK Pavilion. But it’s not just the Classic version here at The Daily Poutine. We’ve still got three more versions to try! Three variations on the Classic Next up: the Latin Poutine, which pairs those same thick-cut fries with fried yucca, black beans, pulled pork, and queso fresco. Latin Poutine WOW, this is one substantial serving! Latin Poutine Well, actually, I could say that about each Poutine served here, but it’s the pulled pork and black beans that really amp this one up into a meal. SUPER filling, and I liked that drizzle of queso fresco on top (which is probably about the only thing that keeps this one remotely in the “Poutine” category ). The Italian Poutine is topped with mozzarella and Bolognese sauce. Italian Poutine You know, I enjoyed the sauce on this one, but compared to the others it’s just such a simple combo that I’d honestly recommend any of the others over the Italian Poutine. Maybe if there were LOTS more of that mozzarella melting and oozing all over the whole thing… Italian Poutine … but as it is, while it’s fine, it’s just not my favorite. Finally, the French Poutine is topped with mushroom cream sauce and Gruyere cheese. French Poutine And just like that, we’re back in business! The mushroom cream sauce and the Gruyere cheese come together to create a rich gravy that ends up as the closest to the Classic, while still giving you the chance to switch things up a bit. French Poutine The mushroom game is strong, though, so if you’re not a fan of mushrooms, I’d say stick with the Classic. Plus, I’d have to ask why there’s not more cheese?!? C’mon — it’s Gruyere! Everyone needs more Gruyere. Overall Okay, I’ll say it: The Daily Poutine gives some of my favorite long-established Counter Service restaurants in Disney Springs more than a run for their money. It’s worth going out of your way to grab some, though I’d stick with the Classic if I were you. At least until they step up the cheese situation on the other versions. Again, I’m eager to hear what our Canadian readers think of the whole thing once some of you have had a chance to try it! By the way, The Daily Poutine accepts the Disney Dining Plan. However, the lack of side and dessert options means that they are treating the Counter Service meal credits the same way that B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. is handling it: Plan participants get two non-alcoholic beverages with their choice of Poutine. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this one! So, chime in, won’t ya? Opening is set for late summer for Flying Fish restaurant at Disney’s Boardwalk – yes, “Cafe” goes away as part of the name, and diners will be welcomed to a sophisticated, interior that still pays homage to the golden era of seaside boardwalks. Chef Tim Majoras, who was has been on the Flying Fish team since 2011, takes the helm in the kitchen, and we met with him and some of his team at Disney’s Flavor Lab to see what’s cooking for the new menu. It’s still in the works, but we got a taste of his take on a starter of seared yellow fin tuna served with compressed watermelon (with a hint of Tahitian lime oil and fresh limes), paper-thin avocado slices, crisp radishes, pickled daikon and a small edible viola flower on top. A drizzle of blood orange oil is all it needs. Sustainable fish will be the star of the new menu, and Majoras’ new Fruits of the Sea appetizer features rock shrimp and clams from Florida, grouper cheek, mussels, a splash of Brandy and a rich lobster stock. The seafood is served over a generous dollop of velvety celery root puree with adds a depth of flavor to the dish. Simple flavors, a deft touch in the kitchen. Stig Jacobsen, general manager and sommelier at Flying Fish, says he is happy with expanded space for wine storage and is “finding gems” for a more in-depth wine list. The interior features an all-new kitchen and dining room (with expanded space for private dining events), sparkling architectural accents, like golden-winged room panels and an impressive chandelier that mimics a school of flying fish swimming overhead. Next door, the new AbracadaBar lounge opens, taking the spot formerly occupied by the candy and ice-cream shop. The new “curious cocktail lounge” combines the Golden Age of Magic with the magic of Disney storytelling, so look for whimsy in the design from the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) team, who create stories in true Disney fashion. According to WDI, the lounge was once a secret stomping ground for famous touring magicians, local boardwalk illusionists and the loveliest magician’s assistants of the day. After every magic show, these prestidigitators would gather at the bar, where they’d conjure up new cocktails, swap magic tips and tricks, and often stay up all night attempting to “out-charm” each other with their extraordinary illusions. According to BoardWalk lore, it was on just such an evening that every single magician in the lounge vanished into thin air, never seen again… And after sitting vacant for nearly 70 years, the secret magician’s lounge is now back in the spotlight. AbracadaBar guests will get a special peek into the sophisticated social club, and while it’s rumored that the magicians who frequented the lounge vanished without a trace decades ago, their magic still remains strongly intact, and can be seen, heard, and even savored in the bar’s signature cocktails. From its enchanted magic show posters and mystifying mirrors to vintage props and tricks left behind years ago, AbracadaBar promises to be just as surprising and magical as its name suggests. We’ll let you know opening dates and share menus soon. View the full article

SPRINKLES IS HERE!!! Learn About: Sprinkles Downtown Disney Disney World Restaurants Seeing as we’re HUGE cupcake fans here at the DFB, this latest Disney Springs opening is a definite cause for celebration! And if you love cupcakes as much as we do, then this is great news for you, too, since Sprinkles was designated the “world’s first cupcake bakery” by the Food Network (the first location opened in Beverly Hills in 2005). Of course, maybe you’ve already paid a visit to Sprinkles, which has locations in Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Nashville, among others. (Even though I prefer my beloved Magnolia cupcakes in the Village, I, myself, am intimately familiar with Sprinkles’ order-ahead policy and the employees at my local Sprinkles Cupcakes store pretty much know me by name.) You may have tried one of the signature cupcakes, a house-made cookie, or some slow-churned ice cream (some locations carry all three, though some offer solely cupcakes). Maybe you’ve even zipped by one and grabbed a cupcake from one of the famous Cupcake ATMs. But you’ve never been able to have one at Disney World… until NOW! Sprinkles at Disney Springs Join us in welcoming Sprinkles to Disney Springs! Atmosphere Sprinkles is located in the newly opened Town Center of Disney Springs, just around the corner from the Marketplace. You can easily identify Sprinkles by spotting a couple of things. First, the signature Sprinkles logo (which just happens to be…spots): Sprinkles Sign And second: the ever-present lines ! Sprinkles Entrance — And Opening Day Lines! Here is a quick glimpse at the Opening Day scene… but honestly, even if they don’t always look quite like this, I think it will be safe to expect at least some form of line at this popular place, which has earned quite a reputation over the years. (I can tell you I was every bit as pumped as these folks when I first heard the news that Sprinkles was coming to Disney Springs!) Lines inside Sprinkles on Opening Day Staying inside, the high ceilings keep those lines from feeling too clausterphobic, helping the overall space to still feel bright. And once you make it close to the front you can watch the busy — but pleasant — cast create some cupcake goodness. Inside Sprinkles Cast Member at the Register And while the Sprinkles logos and fonts may be familiar to you from locations in other cities, you can bet that there is at least one Disney-specific touch at this newest location . A Sprinkles-logo Mickey! Perhaps in some anticipation of the popularity of Sprinkles, there are oodles of tables and chairs outside offering some pretty cool views. Cupcakes with a View You can see Raglan Road in the background of this photo, providing a familiar landmark. Patio Seating Seating — Up Close Oh! There’s one more identifier that you may find handy, and that’s the famous Cupcake ATM — it’s the splash of pink on the right of the photo below. Sprinkles If you had trouble spotting it due to those lines , here’s a closeup! Cupcake ATM We’ll go through a little step-by-step later on, but right now we know what you’ve all been waiting for, because SO HAVE WE… Eats Sprinkles serves up all sorts of sweet treats including slow-churned Ice Cream (available in Sandwiches, Sundaes, Shakes, or in Cones or Cups), Cookies, and even specialty coffees (Red Velvet Mocha, anyone?). Menu — Click to Enlarge Back of Menu But its absolute claim to fame is CUPCAKES! Sprinkles Bakery Case While choices may vary, let’s take a look at the line up on Opening Day. Flavors include Vanilla, Chocolate Marshmallow, and Sprinkle (of course!). Just so you know — the cupcakes here (at least the ones with frosting) have a sweet, moist cake base and a thick, sugary frosting. No whipped cream anywhere near this place. The frosting is what I like to refer lovingly to as “lardy,” which means it’s thick, rich, buttery, and super-sweet. Perfection. Vanilla Cupcakes Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcakes Sprinkle Cupcakes Banana, Coconut, Dark Chocolate, and Vanilla Milk Chocolate join the Cupcake Party. Banana Cupcakes Coconut Cupcakes Dark Chocolate Cupcakes Vanilla Milk Chocolate Cupcakes Ready for more? Good, because they keep on comin’! Strawberry, Salty Caramel, Carrot, and Black and White join the lineup. Strawberry Cupcakes Salty Caramel Cupcakes Carrot Cupcakes Black and White Cupcakes And perhaps the most popular Sprinkles Cupcake: Red Velvet. This one is available in Gluten-Free, Sugar-Free, and Vegan versions, too. Red Velvet Cupcakes A small (no pun intended) variety of Mini Cupcakes are available as well, in case you’d like to sample a few different flavors at once. Minis The Disney Springs location will also start carrying Seasonal Cupcakes, too. Look for those to arrive starting June 2nd with the summer flavor, Key Lime Pie! Even Fido isn’t left out, thanks to Doggie Cupcakes ($2.50 a pup… I mean, a POP!). Don’t you love how Pluto is looking so longingly at his very own Sprinkles cupcake? Pluto and his own Doggie Cupcake We can relate, pal! Now, let’s check out some of those Cookies while we’re at it. Options include Peanut Butter, Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, and Salted Oatmeal Cornflake. Peanut Butter Cookies Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies Snickerdoodle and Salted Oatmeal Cornflake Cookies We also spotted some Fudge Brownies in the case. Fudge Brownies But now, it’s finally time to grab a beverage (or two) to go with our treats and settle in! Bottled Water Berghoff Root Beer Here’s a Sprinkles Cupcake Mickey of our own making :). Mickey’s head (the full-size cupcake) is the Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcake. The left ear is the Mini Black and White Cupcake, and the right ear is the Mini Red Velvet Cupcake. Sprinkles Cupcake Mickey! The Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcake is a Belgian Dark Chocolate cake base covered in bittersweet chocolate ganache. Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcake The marshmallow is a cream filling tucked inside, and while it’s soft, fluffy, and sweet, it’s the rich ganache that makes this one a standout for me (and you probably KNOW what a frosting fan I am by now, so that’s saying something!). Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcake Like every other Sprinkles cupcake I’ve ever tried, the cake base was moist and flavorful. Sprinkles cupcakes are the real deal, without a doubt. The mini version of the Black and White Cupcake offers a taste of that same Belgian Chocolate cake base, only with vanilla frosting (and some chocolate shavings, to boot!). It’s a nice choice when you’re in the mood for some simple and classic cupcake flavors. Mini Black and White Cupcake I just had to have the most popular one off the menu, the Red Velvet. This is one of my favorites of the bunch. (FYI, my favorite flavors are banana, vanilla (no sprinkles), red velvet, black and white, carrot, and seasonal flavors like lemon blueberry. I’m pretty excited to fall in love with that Salty Caramel though!) Mini Red Velvet Cupcake The frosting on this one is their yummy cream cheese frosting, and it’s amazing. Speaking of frosting, if there’s anything you know about me by now it’s that I’m a frosting fanatic. And Sprinkles offers…frosting shots! Yep, no joke. I’ve had ‘em and I love ‘em. Each one offers a little “condiment cup” of the frosting of your choice ($1.50 each), complete with a little wooden ice cream spoon for eating! ;-D We thought we’d give one of the Ice Cream Sundaes a go, too, since the options give you a chance to combine some Sprinkles slow-churned ice cream along with other treats like a cookie, a brownie, or hey… how about another cupcake ? We tried the Sprinkles Sundae, which is one scoop of ice cream with one Sprinkles Cupcake. Sprinkles Sundae Here’s our custom creation: a Strawberry Ice Cream Sundae with a Banana Cupcake. Sprinkles Sundae The cupcake is deconstructed so you can enjoy the flavors in layers, which is a nice touch. Sprinkles Sundae I found the flavor of the ice cream to be fresh and pure strawberry. The Sprinkles Sundae is a fun way to try two treats in one. We do have one more experience to show you, but this one involves a little How-To, because we grabbed it from the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM! Cupcake ATM They dispense most of the full-size cupcakes and cookies (and remember to have your credit or debit card ready, because the Cupcake ATM doesn’t accept cash). It’s a very user-friendly system, really. Just step right up, and follow the prompts on the screen to select your cupcake of choice. Cupcake ATM My apologies… the Florida sun and screens don’t play well together, but hopefully you can see my choice of a Vanilla Cupcake. Selecting a Vanilla Cupcake Follow the steps to make your payment, and with that, “Your purchase is on the way!” “Your purchase is on the way!” Next, move your eyes to the right… and be assured that the “door will automatically reopen if cupcakes remain inside.” Cupcake ATM Door But no worries at all here! It’s easy as pie to reach right in and grab your waiting cupcake. Cupcake waiting inside the door Voila! Cupcake in Sprinkles Box from the ATM I’d say a Madagascar Vanilla Bourbon cake topped with Vanilla frosting is a perfectly SWEET way to wrap up our first trip to Sprinkles in Disney Springs! Vanilla Cupcake from Cupcake ATM Wouldn’t you agree… or is there another flavor you’d choose to have waiting for you in that Cupcake ATM ? Overall If you’ve ever tried a Sprinkles Cupcake, then it’s not difficult to understand why the crowds have gathered for its opening day at Disney Springs! If you haven’t had a chance to try one, it’s TOTALLY worth stopping by the new location on your next trip to Disney World to see what all the fuss is about for yourself. Sprinkles is an absolute must-stop for cupcake lovers, and there will likely be at least one sweet treat or two that will appeal to every member of your party, since the Disney Springs location also carries Sprinkles ice cream and cookies as well as gluten-free and vegan treats. At this time, Sprinkles does not offer any discounts or accept the Disney Dining Plan… but stay tuned to the DFB, because we’ll be talking about a little something called the Sprinkles Perks program very soon! So get ready to stop by Sprinkles and find out why everyone is so glad that Sprinkles is finally here in Disney Springs! Pin it for later! Which Sprinkles creation would you most like to try? It’s a day over three years in the making — Town Center, the newest neighborhood at Disney Springs, is officially open! At 10 a.m. this morning, guests and Cast Members were invited to experience this brand-new, retail-focused area. With Spanish revival architecture, gorgeous landscaping and several new fountains and water features, this addition just may be the most beautiful at Disney Springs. If you’re like me and you love to shop and dine, I’m sure you’re wondering which anchor stores, boutique retailers and food and beverage offerings opened today. Below, in alphabetical order, is the list of newly-debuted Disney Springs venues: ALEX AND ANI American Threads Amorette’s Patisserie Daily Poutine D-Luxe Burger Edward Beiner Everything But Water francesca’s Johnston & Murphy kate spade new york Kipling L’Occitane En Provence Lucky Brand MAC Cosmetics Melissa Shoes Na Hoku Pandora Sephora Sperry Sprinkles Tommy Bahama UGG Under Armour Brand House UNOde50 Vera Bradley Volcom ZARA Yesake Along with these locations, the Lime Garage, adjacent to World of Disney and Town Center, also opened earlier today. The addition of nearly 2,000 parking spaces will give guests even more options, making the arrival experience easier and more efficient. (And just like the Orange Garage, this second structure will use the same smart technology to let guests know where available spots are and will, of course, continue to be complimentary!) Look for the new Disney Springs marquees to signify that you’re arrived. They anchor the property on both ends, and are a clear sign that you’ve made it to Disney Springs — Your Place to Be! Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for updates on Disney Springs openings through the summer; with more on the horizon, you’ll also want to follow @DisneySprings on Twitter and Instagram for the latest real-time news and updates. OK, who’s in the mood for a burger, fries and a shake? Learn About: D-Luxe Burger Downtown Disney Disney World Restaurants You, too? Then join us at Disney’s newest burger joint, D-Luxe Burger! Newly opened in the Town Center of Disney Springs (and by “newly” we mean TODAY!!!), D-Luxe Burger is a Disney owned and operated location specializing in gourmet burgers made with signature blend patties, freshly cut fries (with TONS of sauces), and artisanal gelato shakes — including “adult” versions. So, yes — it’s that classic combo, indeed. But there’s definitely more than a twist or two involved… Are you hungry yet? D-Luxe Burger sign Excellent… then let’s step into D-Luxe Burger and check things out! Atmosphere So, where exactly IS D-Luxe Burger? D-Luxe Burger Well, since literally EVERYTHING is brand new in the Town Center of Disney Springs, it’s a bit difficult to provide a well-known landmark. Perhaps this handy new Disney Springs Guide Map will help you (Just click to enlarge. D-Luxe Burger is Number 54 in the orange grouping on the map). New Disney Springs Map New Disney Springs Map Ever since Disney described the setting as “eclectically comfortable Florida ranch-inspired,” I’ve been wondering exactly what that means . And now we know! D-Luxe Burger The interior is rustic and homey (and yep, “eclectically comfortable,” as promised!). It reminds me of comfort food restaurants I’ve enjoyed in Dallas and Nashville, and gives a modern farmhouse feel. Inside D-Luxe Burger Inside D-Luxe Burger Be sure to look up and check out the sweet ceiling tiles, high beams, and cool lighting fixtures. Ceiling and Lighting Fixtures Ceiling and Lighting Fixtures Lighting Fixtures And of course, it’s filled with more than a touch or two of Disney whimsy and good ol’ storytelling! “Glowing Oak Ranch Est. 1850″ D-Luxe Burger atmosphere D-Luxe Burger atmosphere D-Luxe Burger atmosphere D-Luxe Burger atmosphere D-Luxe Burger atmosphere Indoor seating offers a mix of both tables and booths. Indoor Seating Indoor Seating And for those who need a little modern-day mixed in with their old-fashioned ranch settings, the “bar” seating has outlets and USB plug-ins. Bar seating Outlets with USB Plug-ins Oh, and just in case you were wondering… Nearest Restrooms sign The indoor fireplace is so cozy I think I’ll look forward to sitting near it even during a Florida August. (How many Hidden Mickeys can YOU spy in the wood pile?) Fireplace That said, the covered outdoor seating offers some lovely views of the springs that are the focal point of the new Town Center. Outdoor Seating Outdoor Seating Waterfront View Alright, Cowpokes! We’ve had our look around. Now it’s time to order up… Register set-up Kitchen … and hunker down ‘fer a bite or two! D-Luxe Burger packaging D-Luxe Burger is considered a counter-service restaurant, and does take the Disney Dining Plan with one quick service credit. Eats It’s all burgers, fries and shakes at D-Luxe Burger! And if you’re craving the traditional take, it can be all yours with an order of the Classic Cheeseburger, Fresh-Cut Fries, and a good ol’ Vanilla, Chocolate, or Strawberry Shake. D-Luxe Burger menu But a closer look at the menu reveals that there’s much more to it. Let’s start with the burgers: aside from the Classic, gourmet variations include the El Diablo Burger, Barbecue Burger, and the Southern Classic Burger. (All burgers are signature blend ground beef patties including brisket, angus, chuck, and shortrib. The El Diablo also includes chorizo in the blend). Burger Menu For guests not into red meat, the Cluck Burger (a ground chicken patty) and the Veggie Burger are options as well. And here are the options for the Lil’ Cowpokes in your party. Kids’ Meals Fresh-Cut Fries are served with your choice of dipping sauces: Garlic Ranch, Horseradish, Chipotle Mayo, 3 Mustard and Honey, Buffalo Blue Cheese, and Curry Ketchup. (Yes — we got them all!) French Fry and Dipping Sauce Menu You may choose to wash your meal down with a beer, hard soda, hard cider, or wine. Drink Menu Or, of course, Fountain Sodas or Iced Tea. Fountain Sodas And finally, we have the Shakes. You gotta respect a menu where the choices of Artisanal Gelato Shakes outnumber the entrees and sides altogether ! The requisite Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry have a few unexpected neighbors on the menu like S’mores, Cake, and Salted Caramel. Shakes and Floats menu Twists custom-made for grownups include a Vanilla Porter Shake, Godiva Chocolate and Strawberry Malt, and Smoked Bourbon Gelato Shake. And Floats also factor into the menu, with Orange, Root Beer and Cherry Coke varieties (along with alcoholic versions of the Root Beer and Orange). There’s just one dessert option (ok, NOT counting all those shakes, that is!), but when it’s Red Velvet Burger Macarons, do you really need more ? Dessert Menu Sooo… what did we get? D-Luxe Burger Packaging I’m glad you asked! We started with the Southern Classic Burger. Southern Classic Burger in packaging Like the other beef options, this one starts with the signature blend beef patty: a mix of brisket, angus, chuck, and short rib. Southern Classic Burger It’s topped with Fried-Green Tomatoes, Pimento Cheese, Lettuce, and Bacon. Southern Classic Burger Toppings In a word, it’s HUGE. In a few more words ;), the burger itself was cooked perfectly to a pink center. It was SUPER juicy and tender, with the highlight of the toppings being those fried-green tomatoes, wonderfully prepared to a golden brown. But that’s not the only one we tried… presenting, El Diablo!! El Diablo Burger This one is made with that same signature blend beef patty, but with the addition of spicy Chorizo sausage. Toppings include Fried Banana Peppers, Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Chipotle Mayo. El Diablo Toppings As you may have surmised by that list, this one is ABSOLUTELY for the Heat Seekers! It carries a great, spicy heat that we just loved. Of course, what’s a burger without FRENCH FRIES? Fresh-Cut Fries These fresh, thick, skin-on fries taste as good as they look… except they’re made even better with the six choices of Dipping Sauce! Going clockwise from the top left, we’ve got Chipotle Mayo, Curry Ketchup, Buffalo Blue Cheese, 3 Mustard and Honey, Garlic Ranch and Horseradish. French Fries with Dipping Sauces Honestly, there’s not a dud in the bunch — this is all about personal preference. So if you have trouble deciding, you may want to ask for more than one (there was no extra charge to try all six!). For further accompaniment , we couldn’t resist the Smoked Bourbon Gelato Shake. This was due to both the Cast Member recommendation as well as the BACON GARNISH! Smoked Bourbon Gelato Shake Bacon Garnish Coming in at 14 bucks, this is for sure a vacation splurge. But you may find the smooth, chocolately, sweet-and-salty blend with a NICE kick from the bourbon to be well worth it! We also grabbed a S’mores Shake. I loved the whipped cream in addition to the mini marshmallows on top! S’mores Shake You really can taste the difference with the choice of gelato over ice cream. It is unbelievably thick and creamy. S’mores Shake And finally, for that ONE dessert option we mentioned… the Red Velvet Burger Macaron. Red Velvet Burger Macaron This one is pretty underwhelming. The “looks like a burger but it’s really NOT! HA HA HA HA!” trend peaked about five years ago, so I was kind of shocked when this came out of the bag. Red Velvet Burger Macaron The taste was fine, but D-Luxe Burger has such a comfort food, southern-feel, simple-but-awesome flavor thing going on, they could have easily done an awesome house-made cobbler or something similar for their dessert option. I’m not sure I’d spend $5 on this again. Red Velvet Burger Macaron As a reminder — D-Luxe Burger does accept the Disney Dining Plan for Counter Service meals. But here’s the thing: there are SEVEN new eateries opening up in Disney Springs today alone. So sadly, we had to wrap up our first visit to D-Luxe Burger. But it won’t be the last… Overall I think it’s safe to say that D-Luxe Burger has started things off with a BANG in regards to eats here in the BRAND NEW Town Center of Disney Springs! The bulk of the area formerly known as Downtown Disney has long relied on outside vendors for its dining options. And while we look forward to welcoming more of those, I think we’ve been especially looking forward to seeing what the Disney owned and operated spots such as D-Luxe Burger would bring to the Disney Springs table. While we expected great theming — and the setting here at D-Luxe Burger certainly doesn’t disappoint — we’re happy to report that D-Luxe Burger delivers an A-Game when it comes to food as well…except that dessert option, but you can always indulge in a gelato shake instead. So we happily welcome you, D-Luxe Burger! And we also welcome the entire new Town Center of Disney Springs!! We’ll see you all back here real soon… Are you hoping to try D-Luxe Burger soon?
