With the announcement of the proposed reopening dates for the Disneyland Resort, we are one more exciting step closer to reopening all of our Disney parks and experiences around the world. Throughout the past few weeks, we have reopened Shanghai Disneyland, Disney Springs and several Disney stores, and set dates for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts, with more announcements coming soon. We are purposefully taking baby steps during this very intentional phased approach. As one of the first major theme parks to close our operations and the last to reopen, we have been deliberate about keeping the health and safety of our cast, guests and local communities top of mind. And as we look forward to bringing our cast members back to work, and welcoming you back as cherished guests – we know it will take all of us working together responsibly to recapture the magic. We’re fortunate to be guided by a talented team of professionals who’ve helped us implement a variety of new health and safety measures reflecting the guidance of local health and government authorities. These are designed with both the cast and guests in mind for the unique environments of each of our parks, resorts and stores. While certain aspects of your visit may change, I assure you the quality of our storytelling, magic of our experiences and the caliber of our cast members has not. We recognize the trust that you have in the Disney brand, and we will continue to earn your trust every day. My confidence comes in part from all of the hard work our teams have been doing behind the scenes in the past few months… as well as by the early successes we have seen at Shanghai Disneyland, the first of our theme parks to reopen. Guest satisfaction has been extremely high, and we will continue to make sure that as we bring back experiences, our attention to promoting your safety, maintaining your trust and providing unique ways for you to come together with family and friends to create new memories remains high as well. Walt Disney once said that it takes people to make the dream a reality, and as we prepare ourselves to reopen his original park, I want you to know how eternally grateful I am for all of you who have made Disney parks, stores, hotels, cruise lines, guided tours and vacation properties part of your lives, as well as for the cast members, crew members, Imagineers, and employees who have brought them to life for the past 65 years. I know this has been a difficult year due to the impacts of COVID-19, but I can’t help but feel a great sense of hope and optimism. And like many of you, I look forward to hearing the laughter and seeing the joy of families making memories together… and I can’t wait to see you when the magic returns to all of our parks and resorts. Be well, Josh View the full article

Disneyland and Downtown Disney have been closed indefinitely due to the current health situation. Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle And while Disney World will begin reopening their parks beginning July 11th, Disneyland hadn’t announced their reopening date…until now. Today, it was announced that Disneyland Resort has proposed to begin a phased reopening. If approved, Downtown Disney will open July 9. Sixty-five years to the date after the historic opening of Disneyland park, we are planning to open our theme park gates once again on July 17, 2020, welcoming guests back to the Disneyland Resort. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products today announced proposed plans for a phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort. Pending state and local government approvals, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel plan to reopen on July 23, and Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park will plan to reopen on July 17. Additionally, Downtown Disney District will begin reopening on July 9. Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon. At this time, there will also be a temporary pause on new ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals. Additional details will be available soon. Please check Disneyland.com for the most current information. Once approved, the Disneyland Resort will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures. In addition, a Guest Experience Team will be available throughout the parks and Downtown Disney District to assist guests with questions regarding these new policies. Certain experiences that draw large group gatherings – such as parades and nighttime spectaculars – will return at a later date. While character meet and greets will be temporarily unavailable, characters will be in the parks in new ways to entertain and delight guests. Pending governmental approval, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are planned to reopen to guests and members starting on July 23. Plans to support physical distancing as well as increased cleaning measures, along with a number of other health and safety protocols, will be implemented as part of the phased reopening of the hotels and the Vacation Club. Downtown Disney District will begin reopening on July 9 in line with the state’s reopening guidelines, with its unique variety of shopping and dining experiences, including the flagship World of Disney store. With the health of guests and Disney cast members at the forefront of planning, several operational changes will be implemented based on guidance from health authorities to promote physical distancing and cleanliness throughout the Downtown Disney District. Additional information on enhanced health and safety measures and operational changes for reopening locations will be shared soon. These policies are under continuous review and are subject to change as the Disneyland Resort monitors conditions and receives guidance from health and government authorities. Disneyland holds a special place in the hearts of people around the world. It was created as a place where family members of all ages could have fun together – a place to “leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.” Sixty-five years later it still is. It’s time for magic – and we look forward to welcoming you back. View the full article

In recent weeks, we’ve seen how Disney World is changing LOADS about the theme parks and adapting to current state and national health standards. These changes are to keep their Cast Members and guests safe. One topic we’ve heard a LOT about from our readers has been the future of pin trading in Disney World. French Quarter Pin Board Pin trading is a close-contact activity between guests and Cast Members, so does this mean that pin trading as we know it will become a thing of the past at Disney World? Let’s take a look at what the concerns are surrounding pin trading and what might change moving forward. Pin trading is serious business for many Disney fans and collectors. There are countless pins available at the parks and resorts for folks to purchase. Special events like Epcot’s festivals or the holiday season will often have a series of limited edition pins for guests to collect. In short, a lot of people LOVE collecting and trading pins. 2020 Magic Kingdom Pin The act of pin trading typically involves a Cast Member wearing a lanyard or pouch covered in pins. The guest chooses which pin they would like, and then trades one of their pins in exchange. Some retail locations, front desks of resorts, and Guest Relations locations have pin boards or books from which guests can also select what they would like to trade for. Galaxy’s Edge Lanyard with Pin Disney understands the popularity of pin trading and collecting. It used to be that many pins, including limited edition ones, could only be purchased in the parks and resorts. Since Disney World and Disneyland closed their gates mid-March, specialty pins started to appear on shopDisney for folks to purchase. Cinderella 70th Anniversary Pin So, what is the main concern with pin trading in these current times? The act of trading pins means that you are touching an object that was just touched by someone else. If a Cast Member has a pin that was previously given to them by a different guest, and now YOU are touching that pin — there’s an obvious health and sanitation concern. Caribbean Beach Pin Trading Board In Disney Springs, one of the most common locations for pin trading is at World of Disney. When we spoke to Cast Members before the store reopened on May 27, we heard that there would most likely be some form of pin trading taking place, but modified from previous experiences. World of Disney See what shopping at Disney Springs is currently like! Disney announced that several merchandise experiences would be modified as more retail locations reopen. When it comes to pin trading, Guests can continue to trade through pin boards in select locations. For the time being, to promote physical distancing, Cast Members will NOT be wearing lanyards with pins. Disney’s Statement on Limited-Release Merchandise At this time, it’s unclear how long these measures will continue once the parks reopen. The only constant at Disney World is change and protocols could be updated or altered at any moment. For now, we know that pin trading is not COMPLETELY gone, but our pin trading experience will look different from before the park closures. Pin Trading Board What remains to be seen is how pin trading will be monitored or controlled. For example, you may not be able to touch a pin until a Cast Member sanitizes it for you, or we may see Cast Members putting on gloves before handling any pins. This is currently speculation and, until we see for ourselves what pin trading is like, we can only guess! (Currently, no pin trading is taking place, not even at the reopened Pin Traders location in Disney Springs) Pin Trading Mickey Disney is also probably aware that they cannot eliminate pin trading that takes place between two guests. Pin trading extends beyond just guests and Cast Members, and many folks love to swap pins if they see someone else wearing one that they may want to add to their collection. It seems likely Disney will have a calculated plan in place before the parks reopen. Pin Trading is quite popular with a significant enough number of guests that eliminating it entirely isn’t feasible, so a new method of distribution and trading that takes health concerns into consideration will have to be implemented. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more concerning the state of pins in the Disney Parks. Take a look at some of the other health and safety measures currently in place at Disney Springs What do you think the future of pin trading will look like at Disney World? Will you continue to pin trade in the immediate future? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: News! DisneyStyle has only been a part of the Disney Springs shopping scene since May 2018 when it first opened its doors. DisneyStyle But ever since, this charming spot has been super popular with guests looking to gear up with all sorts of Disney clothing and accessories, which is why we’re glad to see it back open as of today! As with other stores in Disney Springs, distancing markers are placed in front of the store if guests need to wait for a cast member to bring them in if the store reaches its limited guest capacity inside. Inside DisneyStyle And, also like the other Disney-owned stores now open in Disney Springs, DisneyStyle may utilize a virtual queue, if needed. DisneyStyle While perusing the Minnie Ears, t-shirts, hoodies, and more, you’ll also spot distancing markers as well as plexiglass in front of the cast members at the registers. We’ve been chauffeuring you around with us on what’s shaped up to be an EPIC reopening day at Disney Springs! Disney Springs Sign That’s because several spots have just reopened today at Disney Springs Marketplace and West Side! Now we’ve just spotted some activity at another one of our favorite shops to spend a lot of time (and money) at! The Art of Disney as well as the adjacent shop Wonderful World of Memories officially reopened today! The Art of Disney Since the two stores are joined, you must enter through The Art of Disney and exit through Wonderful World of Memories to visit either location! Wonderful World of Memories Not sure about you guys, but our bank accounts have taken quite the hit thanks to The Art of Disney. This is a one-stop-shop for signed limited edition prints and amazing artworks to add to our Disney gallery walls back home (yup — we might open our own museum someday with the collection we’ve amassed!). The Art of Disney Signs with important health and safety reminders are now located at each store… The Art of Disney …and some social distancing markers have been placed near the checkout. The Art of Disney There weren’t too many floor displays crowding the store today, but we did notice this rather enticing collection of BIG FIGS! The Art of Disney And we saw a Disney artist performing live sketches when we stopped by! The Art of Disney The Art of Disney on Demand was still available. This is a self-serve kiosk where you can scroll through virtual libraries of Disney art on a touchscreen to pick out the prints you’d like to buy! The Art of Disney Heading next door to Wonderful World of Memories, we saw they had plenty of Minnie ears and lots of hats onhand! Wonderful World of Memories We were told by a Cast Member they can still do personalization of hats, but can’t embroider backpacks right now. Here’s a glimpse of all the Mickey Ears they had to choose from today! Wonderful World of Memories There were barely any guests shopping with us in the store today, but we were told the store can utilize the same virtual queue system the other Disney owned properties are using on busier days. Wonderful World of Memories We’ve got a few more spots to hit before we finally throw in the towel, so sit tight while we scope out the rest of Disney Springs and see what other stores have reopened today! We’ve been working our way around the reopened restaurants in Disney Springs to check out what’s new! Paradiso 37 Outside View And we recently made our way over to Paradiso 37 to see what’s cookin’! This restaurant is known for its massive tequila bar and delicious tapas, so we were excited to dig in! Atmosphere Paradiso 37 manages to create a vibe that has a good balance between casual and upscale. And with outdoor seating with a view of the water, it’s a great spot to enjoy some apps and drinks when the weather is nice! Paradiso 37 Outdoor Bar As we’ve noticed at other Disney Springs locations, Paradiso 37 has implemented additional health and safety measures, including paper menus, gloves and masks for the servers, and increased sanitization. Paradiso 37 Paper Menu Paradiso 37 is offering a limited menu for the time being, but our server confirmed that other fan-favorite menu items will return in the future! Despite the reduced options, they still had a solid selection of eats and drinks. Paradiso 37 Drink Menu Though the restaurant is using paper napkins, we did receive regular silverware. Paradiso 37 Plate and Silverware Now that we’ve gotten settled, let’s dive into the exciting part — FOOD! (And drinks, of course!) Eats Since Paradiso 37 is known for its drink selection, we had to start off with a cocktail! We opted for the Volcano Eruption ($14), which is made with coconut rum, banana liquor coconut cream, pineapple juice, and topped with a grenadine “eruption.” Volcano Eruption And we were definitely happy with our selection! The drink was really sweet, refreshing, and pretty light. We also opted for the Beef Empanadas appetizer ($16), which are artisan pastries filled with savory beef and served with a side of sour cream. Beef Empanadas The empanadas were really good — although they admittedly weren’t the best we’d ever had. They weren’t at all spicy, which is good for those looking for a mild option. We thought they could have used more filling, but the crust was AMAZING! It had a great crunchy and buttery texture. Here’s a closer look at the inside of the empanada. We even spotted a Hidden Mickey in the crust! Can you find it?? Here’s a hint — look towards the top-right! Beef Empanada From the entree list, we chose the Seared Salmon Fillet ($31), which came with cilantro rice, roasted vegetables, and grilled lemon. Seared Salmon Fillet Our server mentioned that this was one of her favorite things on the menu, and we can see why! We really enjoyed the flavor of the salmon, and it was cooked well. Here’s a peek at the cross-section of the salmon! Seared Salmon Fillet And the sides were delicious as well! The veggies get two big thumbs up from us, and the cilantro flavor in the rice was relatively understated. Cilantro Rice, Roasted Vegetables, and Grilled Lemon And, of course, we had to cap off the meal with some dessert! We chose the Mini Ice Cream Cones ($13), which comes with four waffle cones with vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and cookies n’ cream ice cream flavors. Mini Ice Cream Cones The mini ice cream cones were good (and cute!), but they got really messy and they melted SUPER fast! So, unless you have a group to eat them with right away, you might end up with a bunch of melted ice cream. Mini Ice Cream Cones Our server noticed our struggle with the melted ice cream, so she brought out a spoon wrapped in a napkin to help us out! Nosh or Not? Paradiso 37 may be right for you if: You’re looking for a restaurant with an expansive tequila selection. You want to order several small plates to share with your party. The weather is nice and you want to take advantage of outdoor seating. You’re looking for a place with a fun atmosphere. You may want to skip Paradiso 37 if: You’re not a fan of Latin American cuisine. You’re looking for a menu with a ton a variety. Dessert is the most important part of your meal. Overall We had a couple of definite standouts at Paradiso 37! We really enjoyed the cocktail, empanadas, and salmon. And our server was on top of all of the new safety protocols. In fact, at the end of the meal, she sanitized the book, pen, and our credit card before returning it to us. Overall, we’d say the food was good, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun. But there are a to of incredible restaurants in Disney Springs and Paradiso 37, while good, just doesn’t hold up against most of them. Check out these Disney Springs deals, including All-Day Happy Hour at Paradiso 37! Have you dined at Paradiso 37? Share your experience with us in the comments! Since there wasn’t a wait today, we walked right in and up to the bakery case where social distancing markers have now been placed. Candy Cauldron Candy Cauldron isn’t making anything fresh right now, but they’re filling their cases with freshly-baked goods that are being delivered to them each day. They still had a decent selection of yummy treats to choose from although there isn’t as much of a variety! Candy Cauldron They’re also still selling their regular selection pre-packaged candies as well as their bulk candy offerings! Cotton candy, popcorn, cookies — you name it, they GOT IT! Candy Cauldron And if you want to dig into your confections right away, Candy Cauldron also provides hand sanitizer for its guests! We’ve been walking all over Disney Springs today trying to hit as many of the newly reopened spots as possible! Pin Traders So far, we’ve checked out Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories, Goofy’s Candy Company, as well as Dockside Margaritas (we even got a little thirsty on our journey and treated ourselves to a Watermelon Marg!)! But now we’re turning our attention to Pin Traders which has also just reopened in Disney Springs today! Pin Traders is THE place for Disney pin collectors to see and be seen! We were interested to see that the shop had flung open its doors since closing last March! Pin Traders Like most locations, you’ll find a new hand sanitizer station located near the entrance. Pin Traders The multi-sided building Pin Traders is housed in normally has many ways in and out, but as of today, there’s only one entrance and exit. The rest are closed off to guests for the time being. A Cast Member also told us Pin Traders can activate a virtual queue system if needed for busier days as we’ve seen at the other Disney shops and World of Disney, but there was no wait to get in today! Pin Traders And while the place with chock-full of its normal vast array of hats, Minnie ears, Pop vinyls, and of course, PINS, we were able to confirm that pin trading is NOT happening at Pin Traders at this time. Hmm… this makes the shop’s name a bit of a misnomer — for now! Pin Traders This is interesting because according to Disney, “We will continue to offer Guests the opportunity to pin trade with Cast Members through the use of pin boards in select locations. Cast pin trading with lanyards will not be available at this time to maintain physical distancing.” So, we will make sure to keep checking back and we will inform you if and when Pin Traders starts trading again. We’ll be back with our reporting of which other Disney Springs locations have reopened today, so stay tuned! Check out our review of TWO new summery drinks Starbucks is pourin’ up at Disney Springs here! Will you be heading to Disney Springs now that Pin Traders is open? Let us know in the comments below! It’s been a busy day so far at Disney Springs! Not only have a few of our favorite Disney stores reopened today, but also one of our most-beloved bars! Dockside’s Menu Just moments ago we told you guys Dockside Margaritas had reopened and since we’ve had a hankering for one of their signature drinks ever since they closed back in March, we promptly put in our order! Today, we’ll be trying their Watermelon Margarita for $16! This isn’t a seasonal special, but rather a summer-themed drink that lives on the permanent menu right now. We have seen it come and go quite a few times, so we thought we’d give it a try! This boozy mixture consists of Patrón Silver Tequila, Gran Marnier, watermelon and lime juices, and sweet-and-sour mix! Watermelon Margarita You can also get either a salt or sugar rim. The Cast Member who mixed ours up recommended the salt since this marg tends to run a little sweet, so we went with her pick! Watermelon Margarita The drink is super refreshing and a little dangerous since we couldn’t really taste much of the tequila! It’s a hot day so a lot of our ice had melted before we got to take our first sip! We were happy we went with the Cast Members suggestion to get the salt rim since it added a nice level of contrast to the fruity drink. Watermelon Margarita The lime’s citrusy and sour flavors came through strong — although not strong enough to make our lips pucker! The hint of watermelon was much more subtle, adding just a little sweetness to each sip! Overall, we enjoyed this drink and we’d definitely pick up this one again on a hot day at Disney Springs since it’s basically summer in a glass! Check out some of the non-boozy special summer drinks we’ve tried at Starbucks here! Will you be trying the Watermelon Margarita on your next visit to Disney Springs? It’s like a whole new world has opened up at Disney World today since May 20th when only a few Disney Springs spots reopened. Disney Springs And while we’ve been waiting for stores like Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories as well as Goofy’s Candy Company to reopen, we weren’t quite expecting to see this spot resume its margarita-making business so quickly! But sure enough, Dockside Margaritas has reopened at Disney Springs! Last month we ran into some Dockside Cast Members who were manning Disney Springs’ outdoor pop-up bar carts while the bars they worked at remained closed due to Governor Ron DeSantis’ orders. Dockside Margaritas But now that most of Florida has moved into phase two of the state’s recovery plan, bars are officially a GO! Disney Springs has given Dockside Margaritas the green light and they’re once again churnin’ out their delicious frozen beverages! Dockside Menu We noticed the ordering window has had a new plexiglass shield installed and several social distancing markers have been placed on the ground outside so guests can space themselves out while waiting for their margs! Dockside Margaritas We’ve just put our order in and we’ll be sharing all the new safety measures Dockside Margaritas has implemented since reopening (as well as a tasty review) in just a little bit, so stay tuned! Have you ever been to Dockside Margaritas before? Tell us what you like to order in the comments below! Are you ready for some classic confections like Mickey Krispy Treats, Cotton Candy, Caramel Apples, and more? Goofy’s Candy Company Then we’ve got just the place for ya… because as of today, Goofy’s Candy Company is now reopen to guests in the Disney Springs Marketplace! The bright and familiar primary colors — along with Goofy’s lovable mug — welcome you back, and it’s a cheerful sight! Goofy’s Candy Company Of course, there are some changes in place to promote safety, which you’ll notice right away with distancing markers placed outside the storefront where guests can wait to be invited in if the store has reached capacity inside. Goofy’s Candy Company We were informed that the store has a virtual queue system in place if needed, but it wasn’t used during our visit. Inside, you’ll spot similar signage in front of the bakery cases for safe distancing between guests. Goofy’s Candy Company You’ll also spot PLENTY of Disney snacking GOODIES once you look inside the cases! Bakery Case inside Goofy’s Candy Company Fudge, Cookies, Mickey Krispy Treats and Caramel Apples are joined by Cupcakes – including the adorable GOOFY Cupcake — all available in a wide variety of flavors. (We were informed that nothing is made in-house at the moment, with treats being delivered every day.) Now, something that Goofy’s Candy Company is rather famous for are Create-Your-Own Snacks, which give guests the opportunity to customize treats like Marshamallow Wands, Krispy Treats, and more with various toppings and candy drizzles. Goofy’s Candy Company Order Form At the moment, though, this signature Create-Your-Own offering is unavailable to guests. There are obviously LOTS of other treats in store, though, so don’t you fret! Cold, fruity, and refreshing Goofy’s Glaciers are still available for sipping, albeit in a limited assortment of flavors. Goofy’s Glaciers These included BRRR-Banana and Gwarshly Berry Blue during our visit. (Just a heads-up, though, that when we checked with a Cast Member, alcohol was not available — at least as of this morning — to make those Boozy Goofy’s Glaciers that hit the scene last summer. But we’ll be back soon and will definitely be keeping an eye out!) Goofy’s Glaciers Bulk Candy is also currently up for grabs. Bulk Candy And so is pre-packed candy, bags of good ol’ Cotton Candy, and more. Pre-packaged items Cotton Candy We even spied the Walker Shortbread Double Decker Character Bus Tins full of Walker Shortbread Cookies! Pre-packaged items Do you remember these from when we first spotted them in Epcot? It’s like seeing old friends. Double Decker Mickey Shortbread Bus Just like this one… Goofy — The Manager!
