As we look forward to reopening Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park tomorrow, our cast members are also preparing for the reopening of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15. For guests with upcoming Disney Park Pass reservations to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we wanted to share an update about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which will once again be using virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app. If you’ve joined the Resistance before, you will want to note a few changes to the process beginning July 15. Most importantly – as availability allows – guests will have an opportunity at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. to request to join the virtual queue. This means there is no need to arrive early to the park to check the virtual queue. Whether it’s your first trip to Batuu or you have joined the fight against the First Order before, there are a few important details to know before you arrive: First, make sure you have the My Disney Experience app. Once you enter the park, log in to your account at one of the distribution times (10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.). Once you have logged in, select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” on the home screen. You will be able to view the current status and next steps for joining the virtual queue. The app will indicate when there is no availability for a specific distribution time. Some guests may join backup groups. As long as your My Disney Experience account is linked to park tickets for you and the others in your group, you can enroll everyone in the virtual queue at the same time. In order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance, each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.Make sure push notifications are turned on for My Disney Experience so you will be alerted if your group is called to return. You’ll have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Please note that joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. If you have any questions or need assistance with joining the virtual queue, cast members at Guest Experience Team locations throughout the park are available to assist. While you wait for your virtual queue group to be called, you can enjoy other experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios including our newest addition, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World Resort, and we know many of our guests are familiar with using virtual queue to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure. For other attractions at Walt Disney World Resort, we plan to use our regular standby queues to manage capacity and to maintain physical distancing. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the magic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Walt Disney World Resort! View the full article

Have you been following along with the story of the FuelRod chargers? We’ve got some interesting updates to the saga! FuelRod Station Once upon a time, there was a portable charger called FuelRod that charged guests a one-time fee of $30 and promised guests Free Unlimited Swapping when visiting locations like Walt Disney World or Disneyland. FuelRod decided to change the policy and implement a $3 charge every time a guest decided to swap out their charger. This caused a user to file a Class Action Lawsuit claiming that FuelRod used false advertising given the promise that users could always swap their chargers for free. Disney FuelRod locations temporarily lifted the charge, but now they’re BACK with an entirely different FuelRod policy! With the new policy, Users who purchased a FuelRod prior to October 26th, 2019 are granted a Founders Status. The status implies that users can continue to exchange their chargers for free! That also means that customers who bought a charger after October 26th are still required to pay the $3 exchange fee. Swapping Fee Sticker Ok, now FuelRod decided on a new policy. But, how do customers with a Founders Status go about swapping for free? Here we go! First, the Founders will complete this questionnaire here. Once you are verified, you must download the FuelRod app and create an account using the SAME email address you used in the questionnaire. When you need to make a swap, hop along to a FuelRod station, and fire up the app. FuelRod will give you a scannable QR code that you will use to confirm your Founder Status and will pop out a new FuelRod. FuelRod Station without swap fee sticker Keep an eye out for our updates! We will definitely keep you informed FuelRod policies continues to change. Want alternative charging options? Check out our guide here! What do you think of the new FuelRod policy? Let us know your thoughts below! Our tastebuds were doing cartwheels last night when Disney World FINALLY released the full lineup of Taste of EPCOT Internation Food and Wine booths and menus! Epcot Food and Wine Festival And now, Disney has added a new Taste of Epcot digital guide feature to the My Disney Experience app! With Taste of Epcot starting in just a few days (it opens the same day of EPCOT’s grand reopening on July 15th and will run all the way through the FALL!), we were up all night studying the menus of the 20 returning marketplace festival booths! And now, Disney World has made our research and planning even easier by launching this new Food and Wine digital feature! Screenshot From the My Disney Experience App Under normal circumstances, EPCOT offers guests a printed booklet of their Food and Wine festival food, entertainment, and shopping location information. While we don’t know if this new digital Food and Wine guide will be replacing physical copies of the guides or not, we’ll be sure to let you know if paper copies are still available once the big day arrives! Screenshot From the My Disney Experience App For now, you can use the My Disney Experience app to explore all of this year’s offerings! We also love how they’ve used characters from Ratatouille as a nod to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — which last we heard, is still on for its 2020 summer debut! Screenshot From the My Disney Experience App We can’t wait to explore the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival next week. Not only will it be the longest Epcot festival to date, but Disney has also shared it will be a sort of hybrid Food and Wine Festival with elements of Flower and Garden Festival mixed in! Disney World has implemented lots of new precautions to keep guests and Cast Members safe now that the parks are reopening. One of the biggest changes has to do with physical distancing. All parties are asked to maintain six feet of space between themselves and other guests at all times. Characters Greeting If you’re a pin collector, you might think this new safety regulation would make pin trading a thing of the past at Disney World. But we’re here to tell ya — that’s not the case! In fact, we’ve seen pin trading happening at a few places INSIDE the theme parks recently between guests and Cast Members! Before the closures, pin trading typically involved Cast Members wearing lanyards or pouches covered in pins that were available for trade. Some retail locations, front desks of resorts, and Guest Relations locations also had pinboards or books for guests to look through. Guests would pick out which pin they wanted, and then trade one of their pins in exchange. Pin Trading Board We stopped by Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom to ask if there was any new info regarding pin trading. Previously, we’d heard from Cast Members when Pin Traders reopened in Disney Springs that there would most likely be some form of pin trading taking place, but that it would be modified from previous experiences. Guest Relations The Guest Relations Cast Members informed us they didn’t have any pins for trading just yet, but they did have plenty of free celebration buttons to choose from. First Visit Celebration Buttons But, as we were exploring some of the gift shops at Magic Kingdom, we spotted a real live pinboard at Fantasy Faire’s cash register! Guests can still pick out which pin they’d like to trade, and the Cast Member will remove it from the board and give it to you! You’ll drop the pin you’re trading into a container and they’ll clean it before placing it on the board. Pin Board Today at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, our friend Instagram user @MichaelDoesDisney spotted a new sign clearly detailing step by step the pin-trading experience we had yesterday at Fantasy Faire. And yesterday, one of our team members who was in Disney’s Animal Kingdom spotted a whole pin trading experience next to Primeval Whirl in Dino Land, U.S.A.! Pin Trading Experience This was the largest board we’ve since the closures and the Cast Members asked us to help spread the word! Pin Board We also swung by Animal Kingdom’s Pin Station to see if they had begun pin trading yet. For now, the Cast Member told us they’re still working on a plan so we’ll continue to monitor them and let you know when it returns! Pin Station at Animal Kingdom In fact, we’ll keep updating this post and let you know about any additional pin trading locations we can find, but for now, you can get the scoop on Disney World’s 2020 pin trading event which will be happening online! Find out which newly-reopened Disney World resort hotel has pin trading here! Are you a pin collector? Let us know if you’re excited to see pin trading returning to the parks in the comments below! A LOT has changed in Disney World over the past few months, and we’re finally back in the parks to experience it. Magic Kingdom One of the biggest changes has to do with HOW we get into the parks. A park ticket alone doesn’t cut it anymore. Instead, entry requires valid admission AND a Disney Park Pass reservation to help limit capacity. Which led us to wonder — what if we want a mid-day break? Can you LEAVE a reopened Disney Park and return the same day? We’ve got answers! During the Annual Passholder Preview in Magic Kingdom, we reached out to a Guest Experience Cast Member to learn a little bit more about the Disney Park Pass and theme park entry procedures. As it turns out, YES! You can leave and come back to the same park in the same day with no problem. Magic Kingdom Keep in mind that you WILL have to go through temperature and security screening each time you reenter the park, but otherwise you won’t have an issue. Mid-day breaks, here we come! Walt Disney World has started a phased reopening with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom this week. Gaiters at Chapel Hats in Disney Springs Disney released guidelines set by the CDC for acceptable forms of face-coverings that are required for entry. One policy is that that masks should “be secured with ties or ear loops.” This caused some confusion as Neck Gaiters, a popular face covering that slips over your mouth and nose, don’t have earloops and are not secured with ties. Disney didn’t explicitly mention a policy regarding the face coverings until now. Today, Disney has officially updated the website to state that Gaiters and open-chin triangle bandanas are NOT acceptable forms of face coverings. ©Disney There have been many new health and safety measures implemented since the theme park’s closure in March. Every guest is required to wear a mask throughout the day with the exception of swimming, dining, and in the relaxation zones. Walt Disney World has PLENTY of transportation options, from buses to the monorail to the Skyliner and everything in between! Disney Skyliner But when Walt Disney World officially reopens Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th and Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th, not EVERY type of vehicle will be available. When Epcot officially reopens on July 15th, there’s going to be a brand new hybrid food festival, the Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Epcot We’ve FINALLY gotten menus for the 20 signature marketplaces that will be spaced out around the theme park, but we know that no festival is complete without merchandise! When Walt Disney World closed in mid-March due to the global health crisis, Epcot was in the middle of the 2020 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Disney World But if you missed your chance at all of that super cute Orange Bird merch, don’t sweat it because it’s coming back, baby!! Orange Bird Minnie Ears The sweet and spunky Florida mascot will be back with headwear, clothing, and drinkware at Epcot. Back during Flower & Garden, we spotted Orange Bird Minnie Ears, pitchers, juice glasses, and leggings. While Disney hasn’t elaborated on what exactly will be reappearing, we’re sure some of these items will still be in stock! Flower and Garden Orange Bird Merchandise If that little guy isn’t your scene, Minnie’s Flower Cart collection is also making a comeback. We loved the sweet pink and blue Minnie’s Flower Cart spirit jersey, phone case, and dishware. Flower and Garden Minnie Spirit Jersey We’re also absolutely buzzing about the return of the Spike’s Sweet as can Bee Collection. This buzzy little bee has long been around at Flower & Garden for the fest, and he got his own line this year with his nemesis Donald Duck, which featured his likeness on Tervis Tumblers, ornaments, bags, accessories, and more. Spike The Bee Tumbler If drinkware isn’t your thing and you’re looking to snuggle with a lil’ something, the Flower & Garden Wishables are coming back! The blind bags feature Figment Topiary, Butterfly, Minnie, or Fruishi Wishables. But if you’re not the gambling type, there’s a Mickey Mouse in a little gardening outfit that is an open chase edition. Mickey Wishables This is just the RETURNING merchandise coming to Epcot, but Disney has teased that new items will be coming.
