Figment fans are going to be running to EPCOT to get a brand-new souvenir…but is it worth it? Figment Bubble Machine A new bubble machine has just landed at EPCOT, and it comes in the form of the beloved purple dragon who’s all about imagination! If you head over to EPCOT, you’ll find the new Figment Bubble Machine at merchandise carts around the park. Figment Bubble Machine The bubble machine has some cool features, including lighting up and playing music. You can probably guess what song he plays — that catchy “Imagination” song that everyone sings from the ride. Come to think of it, some of you might dread it (but it couldn’t be us — we love Figment!). He’s so cute! Look, it’s hard to pass up on anything Figment, but is it worth buying? Well, Figment puts out a lot of bubbles, but he runs out of juice very quickly. We think we’re being generous by saying you get about five minutes out of it before needing a refill. BUBBLES! It’s a really cute bubble machine, but it just takes a lot of refills, with little time to pop out all those bubbles. It’s not as big as those popular Ariel and Buzz bubble wands that every kiddo has around Disney World. Regardless, it’s a super cute souvenir with some fun features; we understand why you wouldn’t be able to pass up on it. Figment with Figment The bubble machine comes with about half the size of a refill. After that, you’ll have to purchase refills for around two dollars each. You can also bring your own bubble soap if you know you’re going to be obsessed with him. Are you grabbing one? We’re going to let you make your park reservation, because we’re sure you’re already planning your next EPCOT visit to grab one of these. Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means. Overcast skies after Hurricane Milton We’re not talking about the heat and humidity that will make a summer Disney World trip make you feel like you’re stuck in a sauna that’s been turned up too high. We’re not even talking about those random rainstorms that do nothing more than just make it feel even MORE hot and humid. Nope, we’re talking about hurricane season, which starts from June and goes through November. Well, the 2026 hurricane season will be here before you know it, and the forecasts from the National Hurricane Center will look a little different. This year, the NOAA’s National Hurricane Center (NHC) is implementing some new tools to help with forecasting hurricanes, including a new hurricane track forecast cone map. These cone graphics give a better understanding of a hurricane’s path. The improved cone graphic was tested last year, and helped to enable “inland communities to better understand and prepare for the danger posed by tropical cyclone winds.” ©NHC Here’s what the new cone does: Combines all land-based tropical storm and hurricane watches and warnings for the continental U.S., Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Uses single shading for the entire 5-day forecast. The legend has symbols for areas where a hurricane watch and tropical storm warning are both in effect (the pink and blue lines) You will also be able to see full and intermediate Tropical Cyclone Advisories on hurricanes.gov. Visitors leaving Magic Kingdom and EPCOT at the Transportation and Ticket Center during a hurricane So, for example, if you were headed to Disney World, or ARE in Disney World during hurricane season, this cone could give you a good idea if you need to cancel or reschedule your trip, or if you’re already in Disney World, hunker down in your hotel and prepare for possible theme park closures. This could also alert you to the possibility of itinerary changes if you’re sailing on Disney Cruise Line in areas that may be affected. Disney Wish at Castaway Cay The NHC has also introduced a new experimental version of its Tropical Cyclone Forecast Cone. This cone shows where the hurricane is likely to go, based on past calculations. It will be available on the NHC website for full and intermediate advisories. The NHC has also developed new storm surge products for Hawaii (which could help you if you’re planning to visit Disney’s Aulani Resort). These new tools will: Give probability-based forecasts of water and storm surge levels up to three days before a hurricane arrives Figure in storm track, wind intensity, and wind radii in forecasts Offer this information publicly to all Hawaiian islands Disney’s Aulani Resort The NHC hopes these new tools will help keep those in the potential paths of hurricanes more informed and safe. We’ll be keeping an eye on hurricane season and how it affects Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Trader Sam’s We recently stopped by Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Trader Sam — the famous Head Salesman of Jungle Cruise fame — has collected artifacts from all over the globe in his travels and has brought them to his “happy hideaway” in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Disney details abound all over Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto — a 51-seat bar which also features interactive elements from special effects throughout the room and zany antics from the bartenders in response to the ordering of certain libations (many of which are served in highly collectible souvenir tiki glasses)! So many details everywhere Until 8PM, this restaurant is available to the whole family. Only those 21 and over are allowed admittance afterward. The spot is extremely popular, and Advance Dining Reservations are not available here, so you may want to read up on the Walk-Up Waitlist option for the in-demand tiki bar before you go! Entrance But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The food menu here is inspired by South Pacific and Polynesian eats like Kalua Pork Tacos, Sushi, Dumplings, Spicy Honey Pork Wings, and more. Trader Sam’s menu As far as drinks go, this is a tiki bar, so you can expect to find classic tiki drinks — with a Disney twist, of course. The Uh-Oa! is a crowd favorite, along with the Zombie and Hippopoto-Mai-Tai. You can also find non-alcoholic specialty drinks, beer, and wine. Inside the menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks Starting with drinks, we picked up the Polynesian Pearl for $24.50. This is made with RumChata Cream Liqueur, Grand Marnier Liqueur, and Cinnamon with Tropical Juices. The Pearl is yours to keep — and if you’re lucky, you might get a black pearl, just like we did on this visit! Polynesian Pearl — Black Pearl! This is a FANTASTIC tiki drink, and was our reporter’s favorite of this visit — and maybe their favorite drink they’ve had at Disney World, period. If you like piña coladas, you’ll most likely enjoy this. Though it’s not frozen, the creamy coconut flavor was very reminiscent of one. It was not overly strong, though the alcohol flavor was present. There is a little spice to it thanks to the cinnamon. It’s fruity, creamy, and you get to keep the pearl! We also grabbed the Krakatoa Punch for $19.50. This drink is made with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Pyrat XO Reserve Rum, Orgeat (Almond), Sam’s Gorilla Grog, and Hibiscus Grenadine. Krakatoa Punch The spiced rum has a really nice kick that kind of sits on your tongue for a little after you drink it. We couldn’t really taste the hibiscus grenadine. We were searching for a floral, pomegranate flavor, but it never really reached past the rum, for better or worse. The presentation is really cute with a glow cube to simulate a bubbling volcano, too! There were some eats on our mind, too, of course. Eats First up, we tried the Kahuna Tuna Sushi Roll for $19. This is essentially a basic tuna sushi roll you might expect at your local spot. Kahuna Tuna Sushi Roll The tuna on top tasted fresh, was smooth to bite through, and was pretty flavorful. The rice was unfortunately dry and at some points a little hard. It wasn’t a huge portion, only eight small pieces of sushi, so not a lot of value for the price. It wasn’t unlike the sushi you would get at the grocery store. The vegetables inside were fresh with a nice snap. It also comes with ginger, wasabi, and a ramekin of soy sauce. These were all very standard. Sushi And, we also had the Kalua Pork Tacos for $11.50. These were very flavorful, with a fresh jalapeño slice garnish on top. There was quite a bit of pork in each of the three tacos. The slaw is fresh and chilled, adding a really nice crunch. The creamy sauce has a little kick, but it is also sweet. The flour tortillas are not dry and taste fresh, though they’re most likely prepackaged. The tacos are served with a slice of lime to squeeze over the top, which we recommend. We would definitely get these again, as they’re a pretty good value — especially compared to the sushi. Kalua Pork Tacos So, is Trader Sam’s worth a visit on your next Disney World trip? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit… If you want the most “I can’t believe this is real” bar experience on property, this is the one. It’s an intimate tiki hideaway packed with shrunken-head decor, corny-in-the-best-way Skipper banter, and drink orders that trigger in-bar effects (aka your cocktail arrives and suddenly the room has opinions). Disney basically begs you to arrive early, and they mean it. If you’re doing a monorail evening or an adults-first resort hop. It’s a perfect stop because it feels like a whole attraction without needing a park ticket. It’s tucked at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, so you can roll in, soak up the vibe, and pretend you’re a glamorous explorer whose biggest problem is “do we order the pineapple drink or the other pineapple drink?” If you like cocktails and small plates, the menu is built for “snack dinner” or “pre-dinner warmup that accidentally becomes dinner.” Think sushi roll, dumplings, lettuce cups, flatbread, and tacos, plus fun non-alcoholic options too. You should skip this Disney World spot… If you hate waiting, This place is TINY. Like, “about 50 people” tiny. That’s why it’s magical, and also why it’s frequently a whole situation to get in, especially at night. If you’re trying to keep things budget-friendly, this place is a danger. Drinks are specialty, snacks are shareable, and it’s incredibly easy to turn “just one” into “well, now we need an appetizer to keep it company.” (Also: Dining Plan meals are not accepted.) If you’re counting on it as a late-night family hangout. There is an 8:00 PM cutoff for under-21s inside. The outdoor terrace is still an option, but the full “indoor show” experience becomes adults-only after 8. Overall If you’re a fan of tropical drinks, Trader Sam’s is not to be missed. Plus, you really can’t beat the atmosphere. It’s a step above your average tiki bar, thanks to the interactive elements and bartender shenanigans. While the food isn’t worth a visit on its own, it is decently tasty and is a great spot for pre-dinner snacks. It’s also a great spot for some late-night vibes, especially if you’re staying at the Polynesian or want something to do after leaving Magic Kingdom! Okay, so you know we have a lot of favorite snacks in Disney World, and it’s hard to just pick one as the #1 fave, but let’s just say that Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwich is very close to being at the top of that list. Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwich There’s just something about the spicy gingerbread flavors, mixed with salty caramel and sweet buttercream, that just makes us so happy. It’s a popular snack for a reason. There’s just one big problem: it tends to be seasonal, and you can usually only get it around the holidays. Well, we’ve got some AMAZING news. For a VERY limited time, this cookie sandwich is BACK in Disney World. Now, usually, this special snack is ONLY available at Karamel-Kuche in EPCOT, but for this weekend only, you don’t even need a park ticket to get your hands on it. That’s because Disney Springs is celebrating National Caramel Day by offering the Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwich for this weekend only at Goofy’s Candy Company and Disney’s Candy Cauldron. We LOVE this snack But that’s not all. If you drop by the Town Center Market Stalls today and tomorrow, you can snap some fun photos at a special National Caramel Day photo op with a backdrop that features Karamel-Kuche and some fun caramel-related props. How fun! Also, Werthers is giving out FREE caramel samples. Best Caramel Day EVER! ©Disney If you’re still craving caramel after all that, head back to Goofy’s Candy Company and grab the Werther’s Original Caramel Butter Bar. It’s a fave of ours, too! Traveling to Disney World can feel like an Olympic sport with Mickey-shaped obstacles. You’re hauling chargers, snacks, sweatshirts, lip balm, a boarding pass, and at least one very important pair of mouse ears, all while speed-walking through the airport like your life depends on it and mentally debating if you have time to stop for an iced coffee. Let’s take a flight! So when a former flight attendant recommended this travel bag as a go-to carry-on, I was intrigued. A bag that’s supposed to be roomy, comfortable, airline-friendly, and not cost a small fortune? That’s the kind of promise that usually makes me squint suspiciously. But after testing it out at Orlando International Airport, I have to admit, this one actually understood the assignment. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Check out this Snoffic Travel Backpack Let’s start with the obvious: finding a good carry-on is weirdly hard. Some bags look cute but hold approximately three socks and a granola bar. Others are technically “travel bags” but feel like you’re lugging around a cinder block with straps. And if you’re trying to avoid checked bag fees? The pressure is on. That’s why this backpack stood out. It’s designed to work as a personal item or carry-on, which is music to the ears of anyone flying to Orlando and trying to keep things simple. It’s also marketed as TSA-friendly, water-resistant, and built for comfort, which are three phrases I like to hear when I’m about to enter the chaotic gladiator arena known as the airport security line. Snoffic Carry On Backpack Right out of the box, the Snoffic Travel Backpack felt surprisingly solid. Not flimsy. Not sad. Not “this zipper is going to betray me at baggage check.” The material felt sturdy, with a water-resistant finish that made me feel a little less nervous about rogue coffee drips, mystery airport moisture, or whatever else the travel gods decide to throw at me. It also has wide, padded shoulder straps, which matter more than people realize. A travel bag can hold the secrets of the universe, but if it digs into your shoulders after ten minutes, it has failed the mission. This one was comfortable to wear, and the chest buckle helped distribute the weight a little better when the bag was fully packed. Love that for my back. Here’s the back Another detail I appreciated? The handles. You’ve got the standard top handle, but there’s also a side handle, which means you can carry it like a duffel when needed. That may sound minor, but in the airport, every little convenience feels like a tiny miracle wrapped in nylon. Now let’s talk capacity, because this bag is giving “looks normal, secretly a TARDIS.” It’s deceptively spacious. I packed for a short Disney World trip and still had room to keep things organized instead of tossing everything into one giant fabric abyss. Clothes, toiletries, tech, travel essentials, and yes, even mouse ears all fit without turning the backpack into a lumpy little nightmare. Snoffic Carry-On Backpack The compartments are a big part of what makes this bag work. Instead of digging through your belongings like a raccoon in a snack drawer, you can actually keep things where they belong. That means less frantic gate-area rummaging and fewer moments where you accidentally pull out something deeply unhelpful when all you wanted was your charger. And then came the real test: Orlando International Airport. If a bag can survive MCO, it deserves a medal and maybe a refreshing beverage. This airport sees a huge number of Disney-bound travelers, which means it’s often bustling, crowded, and full of people hauling enough vacation gear to populate a small village. So yes, this felt like the right place to put the Snoffic Travel Backpack through its paces. Another way to hold it Security was easy enough, and the bag’s TSA-friendly design definitely helped streamline the process. No awkward fumbling. No dramatic repacking performance in front of strangers. No holding up the line while silently bargaining with the universe. Already a win. But the biggest moment came once I boarded the plane, because there is one question that matters more than almost anything else with a travel bag: Will it actually fit under the seat? So much room! I slid it under the seat in front of me and held my breath a little. Then, victory. It fit. No wrestling match. No panicked shoving. No, trying to compress the laws of physics with sheer determination. Even packed pretty full, it slid right into place, which is exactly what you want if you’re trying to travel light and skip extra baggage fees. That under-seat fit is the kind of thing that can make or break a travel bag, especially if you’re flying a budget airline or just don’t want to fool with overhead bin drama. The Snoffic bag passed that test beautifully, and honestly, that alone makes it worth a look. Carry-on Backpack For the price, this backpack really punches above its weight. It’s comfortable, durable, roomy, and practical without looking like you stole it from a mountaineering expedition. It handled the airport, held a surprising amount, and made the whole travel day feel a little less chaotic, which is no small feat. So if you’re heading to Disney World, trying to avoid baggage fees, or just need a carry-on that won’t make you regret every life choice by Gate 42, the Snoffic Travel Backpack might be the travel upgrade you didn’t know you needed. Sometimes the hype is just hype. And sometimes a former flight attendant hands you a recommendation that actually earns its spot in your packing lineup. This bag? Yeah, I’d fly with it again. view ON AMAZON We’re always looking out for those essentials you’ll need on your next Disney trip, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! There are two kinds of Disney World shoe conversations. The first is the hopeful, innocent kind. The kind where someone says, “I think I can just wear the cute sandals I already own,” as though Disney World is a quaint little sidewalk situation and not a full-contact endurance event disguised as a vacation. One of our favorite shoes! The second kind is this one. Yes, we are here. Again. Writing about the same shoes. Again. Because despite all our collective yearning for some hot new under-the-radar miracle sneaker that costs twelve dollars and cures foot pain with the power of vibes alone, these are still the pairs people keep buying for Disney World. These are the shoes that show up in packing lists, park bags, airport outfits, and suspiciously smug post-trip reviews from people whose feet are not currently filing a lawsuit. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. And honestly? We get it. Because when you’re walking mile after mile in the Florida heat, standing in long lines, power-waddling to your Lightning Lane, and trying to pretend your calves aren’t screaming halfway through EPCOT, your shoes stop being a fashion choice and start becoming a survival tool. HOKA Rincon 4 Womens Shoes The bad news is that these are not cheap. These are not your “grab ’em at the last minute and hope for the best” shoes. These are the shoes you buy when you’ve accepted that your feet deserve luxury, even if your snack budget has to take a small emotional hit in the process. So yes, your feet may thank you. Your wallet may need a moment. Your stomach may be furious if this means fewer DOLE Whips. That’s between you, your budget, and whatever spreadsheet keeps your vacation dreams from turning into financial performance art. What shoes do you wear in the parks? Here are the shoes everyone will be wearing to Disney World this summer, whether your bank account likes it or not. HOKA Women’s Clifton 10 If Disney World had an official sneaker of “I came to walk 23,000 steps and still be capable of standing in line for fireworks,” it would probably be a HOKA. The Clifton 10 is one of those shoes that has graduated from trendy running shoe to full-blown park legend. These are plush, neutral shoes made for everyday running and walking, with a breathable upper, lightweight cushioning, and multiple width options. In other words, this thing was built for people who know they’re going to be on their feet all day and would prefer not to feel like they’ve been personally victimized by pavement. Did we mention they have fun colors? And let’s be real, this is peak Disney adult logic. We will absolutely spend real money on a shoe that looks vaguely orthopedic-adjacent if it means we can make it from rope drop to nighttime spectacular without having to sit down on a curb and reevaluate every life choice that led us here. The Clifton 10 is for the person who wants cushion. Not a whisper of comfort. Not a polite nod toward support. Cushion. Plush. Bounce. It’s the shoe equivalent of saying, “No, actually, my feet will be receiving VIP treatment today.” We love our Hokas Is it the cheapest option? Not even a little. Is it beloved for a reason? Unfortunately for our wallets, yes. view ON AMAZON Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 The Brooks Ghost 17 is for the person who wants comfort but maybe doesn’t want to look like they’re wearing moon boots to Magic Kingdom. The Ghost 17 is a longtime favorite with balanced support, added cushioning in the heel and forefoot, and a fit designed for everyday running and walking. Translation: it’s dependable, comfortable, and less flashy than some of the chunkier max-cushion shoes out there. Brooks Ghost 17 This is the sneaker for people who want something supportive without making their shoes the main character of the outfit. It’s giving practical. It’s giving “I did my research.” It’s giving “I would like my arches protected, but I still want to look normal in vacation photos.” And frankly, that’s a strong lane. Brooks If the HOKA Clifton is the dramatic diva of the Disney shoe world, the Brooks Ghost is the reliable best friend who shows up on time, brings sunscreen, and never lets the group spiral. You may not write poetry about it, but you will appreciate it somewhere around hour nine when your feet still feel reasonably attached to your body. This is also a great option for the person who wants a solid park sneaker but isn’t necessarily chasing the ultra-plush, super-stacked feel of some other popular walking shoes. It’s comfort without the theatrical flourish. view ON AMAZON On Women’s Cloudswift Sneakers Then there are the On Cloudswift sneakers, for the Disney person who wants supportive shoes but would prefer not to look like they’re wearing two foam bricks with laces. If HOKAs are the chunky-cushion stars of the park shoe world, the Cloudswift is the sleeker, cooler cousin. The Cloudswift is designed as an everyday running shoe with CloudTec cushioning, a dual-density midsole, and Helion foam for soft landings and a responsive feel. It’s built for city streets, which honestly makes it a pretty natural fit for Disney World’s endless concrete and marathon-level step counts. On Cloudswift Sneakers The big appeal here is that the Cloudswift offers premium support without the ultra-plush, max-cushion feel some parkgoers want. It’s lightweight, polished, and feels a little more streamlined, which makes it a solid choice for anyone who wants comfort without going full marshmallow mode. These are not cheap shoes, but for plenty of Disney fans, that’s the trade-off: spend more now, and maybe avoid your feet staging a full rebellion by dinner. And yes, once again, the expensive shoes are being annoyingly good at their jobs. view ON AMAZON Birkenstock Arizona Now we enter the sandal division. And yes, I know. Sandals at Disney World can feel like a risky choice. One wrong move and you’re out here collecting blisters like limited-edition pins. But the Birkenstock Arizona has been around forever for a reason. Birkenstock calls it an icon of timeless design and legendary comfort, with its original contoured footbed, and notes that the Arizona line has been defining the style since 1973. ©Amazon If you are a Birkenstock person, you are a Birkenstock person. There is no casual middle ground. You have either fully entered the cork-footbed covenant, or you look at these and think, “Those are expensive hippie planks.” Both reactions are valid. But for the converted, these are a Disney World power move. They’re supportive, easy to style, and ideal for the person who would rather not be trapped in sneakers all day in the middle of summer. They also manage to say, “I care about comfort,” while still looking like you made an actual outfit choice and didn’t just surrender to athletic necessity. ©Amazon That said, let me be crystal clear: Disney World is not the place to break in your Birks for the first time. That is clown behavior. That is chaos with a cork sole. If you’re bringing these to the parks, they need to already know your feet on a first-name basis. For the right person, though? These are absolutely a park staple. Especially for resort days, Disney Springs, travel days, or anyone who wants support without a full sneaker commitment. view ON AMAZON Clarks Women’s Arla Kaylie Flip-Flop And now we arrive at the shoe that says, “Yes, I want a flip-flop, but I also want dignity, cushioning, and a fighting chance.” The Clarks Arla Kaylie is not your sad little gas-station flip-flop that gives up halfway through the morning and leaves your feet begging for mercy by lunchtime. Multiple retailer listings describe it with Cushion Soft or OrthoLite cushioning, a lightweight midsole, and a soft toe post, with some versions also noting that it’s machine washable. ©Amazon Now, would I personally recommend this as the only pair you pack for a long, park-heavy trip? That depends on your feet, your tolerance for thong sandals, and your willingness to gamble with destiny. But as part of a rotation? For shorter park days, travel days, pool days, or evenings when your dogs are barking and need a different shoe situation? Absolutely. This is the grown-up flip-flop. The one that has a job, a 401(k), and opinions about arch support. view ON AMAZON So…Which One Should You Actually Buy? That depends on what kind of Disney walker you are. If you want plush, pillowy sneaker energy and you don’t care that everyone and their cousin is also wearing them, go for the HOKA Clifton 10. If you want a more understated sneaker that still brings the comfort, the Brooks Ghost 17 is a very solid choice. If you’re a sandal loyalist and already know Birkenstock’s work for you, the Birkenstock Arizona is still one of the most popular comfort sandals in the game. And if you want a lighter, easier flip-flop option that doesn’t immediately disintegrate into regret, the Clarks Arla Kaylie makes a compelling case. The truth is, these shoes keep coming up because Disney World is not subtle. It is hot, it is huge, and it is extremely committed to making you walk everywhere. You can try to outsmart that with cheap shoes if you want. Plenty of people do. Some of them are probably reading this while soaking their feet in a hotel ice bucket. Brooks Ghost 17s Could you spend less? Sure. Could you also end up limping through World Showcase, wondering whether one more snack is worth the walk back to the Skyliner? Also sure. Sometimes the boring answer is the right answer. Sometimes the same shoes keep getting recommended because they keep doing the job. Annoying? Maybe. Useful? Absolutely. So yes, here we are again. Writing about the shoes everyone wears to Disney World. And next time? We probably will be, too. Because your feet are dramatic. And honestly, they’ve earned it. We’ve got some bad news in the aviation industry, an area that seems to have had a bit of a rough start to this year. United Airlines Wait times for TSA have been hours long across the country and have only just begun returning to normal, and large storms have caused many disruptions in operations throughout the year so far. Now, some aspects of flying could get more expensive as gas prices continue to rise. If you’re flying with United Airlines soon, you need to know that for now, you’ll be paying more for checked bags. According to CNBC, United Airlines became the second airline carrier in the past week to raise checked bag prices in order to combat rising gas prices. United Airlines will now charge an additional $10 per checked bag, making it $45 to check a first bag on most domestic itineraries if paid in advance, and $50 if paid at the airport. ©United Airlines These changes went into effect on April 3rd and are for flights in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Latin America. The last time United raised its bag prices was back in February 2024, along with many other airlines. At this time, the other airline that increased bag prices this week was JetBlue, which upped its prices to at least $4 per bag, and as high as $9 per bag, depending on when they add it on. ©JetBlue While it’s expected to see other airlines follow suit, it’s also important to note that there are some factors that can help you avoid these higher baggage fees. Many airline credit cards give passengers a free checked bag when flying domestically, and elite frequent fliers also often get free bags, along with those flying first class. In their price hike statement, United added, “United Chase credit card holders, MileagePlus Premier members, active military members and customers traveling in premium cabins can still check a bag for free, and customers in most markets will still enjoy a $5 discount if they prepay for their bags online 24 hours before their flight.” United Airlines Looking for more recent travel news? Grabbing a dining reservation for your Disney World vacation can be a struggle, but this one tip can help! The Cake Bake Shop in Disney World As a former Cast Member, I know how frustrating it can feel for guests when they can’t find a dining reservation at their favorite restaurant. So I would love to take some stress out of your dining reservations and tell you about this one tip that you can use on your next Disney World vacation. While most restaurants in Disney World can only be booked through My Disney Experience or the Disney World website 60 days in advance, some non-Disney-owned restaurants can be booked through other avenues. A great resource for this is the website/app OpenTable! The BOATHOUSE OpenTable is a popular third-party reservation service for areas around the country, and some outside-owned restaurants in Disney World are available to book through the service. We’ve found that occasionally, when these restaurants are out of availability in Disney’s system, they still have time slots open for that very same day on OpenTable. Summer House on the Lake So which Disney World restaurants can you find on OpenTable? First, there are a LOT of Disney Springs restaurants, which include Summer House on the Lake, Jaleo, The Boathouse, City Works, Wolfgang Puck, The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, Frontera Cocina, STK, Planet Hollywood, Raglan Road, Terralina Crafted Italian, Paddlefish, Wine Bar George, and Morimoto Asia. Morimoto Asia If you’re heading to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, you can book several spots through OpenTable as well. These include Bourbon Steak, Todd English’s bluezoo, Rosa Mexicano, Amare, Il Mulino, and Kimonos. Bourbon Steak Outside of those, there are several other assorted restaurants on OpenTable. You’ll find the very popular The Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk, as well as dining locations at the Four Seasons Orlando, JW Marriott, and a few of the Disney Springs area hotels’ restaurants. Breakfast at the Cake Bake Shop Not only is OpenTable a great resource for snagging dining reservations, but it’s also a great way to get the quick guide to these Disney World restaurants. Each restaurant’s page on OpenTable includes the restaurant’s rating, popular menu items, price range, and details like the hours of operation and the address. ©OpenTable So the next time you’re trying to decide where to dine in Disney World, and you’re running out of options on My Disney Experience, try downloading OpenTable and checking out what’s available! We hope this helps take some stress out of grabbing those dining reservations. For more Disney tips, be sure to follow us at DFB! Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for having some of the best dining options out of the four theme parks, but Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge can’t be forgotten either! Who’s ready to eat some new food? There are so many great spots to eat here, but one of our ultimate favorites is Sanaa. Now, we will say that most of the restaurants here are more suited for adventurous eaters, so picky eaters may have a little more trouble finding something they like, but if you’re looking for some unique eats and aren’t opposed to spice, there are three new menu items you’ve gotta check out! Sanaa is known for having a tasty cuisine that’s a combination of Indian and African flavors. There are three new menu offerings on the menu, and we took a bite of the Tandoori-spiced Chicken Sandwich for $21 first. This is Tandoori-spiced Chicken in Warm Naan with Preserved Lemon Crema, Sweet Peppers, House-made Pickle, and Fresh Coriander. Tandoori-spiced Chicken Sandwich Our server warned us this was going to be a spicy sandwich, and while they weren’t wrong, we felt it was all balanced very well. The chicken itself was spiced and seasoned beautifully and was perfectly juicy. The lemon crema and the fresh coriander help to balance it out with its cooler sensation. We loved the house-made chips too, as they were also perfectly seasoned. We actually chose to use the Cucumber Raita from one of our other dishes to dip them into and loved it, so we recommend asking for a side of it! A delicious sandwich! Next up was the Lamb Kefta Naanwich for $22, which is Seasonal Ground Lamb topped with Pickled Onions and Fresh Herbs on Onion Kulcha with Mango Chutney, Cucumber Raita, and Red Chile Sambal. Lamb Kefta Naanwich This is also a spicier sandwich, but we do feel this one was also balanced very well. The naan was perfectly chewy and tender, and we feel it was the perfect bread for this sandwich, as it held everything together while letting the other ingredients shine. The lamb is beautifully cooked, super tender, and spiced very well. We really loved that the pickled onions helped cut through the rich flavor of the lamb a bit, and we loved the way the arugula basically melted into the sandwich and added a bit of a peppery touch. Cucumber Raita, Red Chile Sambal, and Peach Chutney come with this dish for the chips. The Red Chile Sambal was the spiciest, the Peach Chutney had a pleasant, slight burn, and the Cucumber Raita cooled everything down wonderfully. Another delicious sandwich! Finally, we grabbed the Crowned Crane Black Sesame Entremet for $11, which is Black Sesame Mousse, Chai Tea Caramel, Ras el Hanout Pineapple, and Raspberry. Crowned Crane Black Sesame Entremet This was rich and creamy, and we loved the black sesame flavor of the custard, complete with a nutty finish of the entremet. You’ll want to pick up pieces of the dried raspberry and the pineapple in each bite, and we loved the way the raspberry added a different, crunchy texture and added a bit of tartness. We do think this is a bit of a more adventurous dessert, so we recommend making sure you’re open to both the taste and texture of the black sesame entremet before you grab it! It’s unique, and we love that! Looking for more recent reviews? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! Tomorrow is a big day for Harry Potter fans, and we know that a lot of people who celebrate will be spending their Easter holiday sitting in front of the TV, potentially with other Potterheads. ©HBO The new HBO TV adaption of the series came out with its first trailer at the end of March, sparking much conversation and, in some cases, debates, among fans. The series itself will premiere this Christmas on HBO Max, so we’ve still got many months to go. However, to hold us over, there’s a documentary-style sneak peek that premieres TOMORROW, and we just know it’ll be a big hit. Variety has reported that, premiering on HBO Max on April 5th, is none other than “Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic.” This goes through the making of season 1, which is currently still being filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the U.K. You know what that means — behind the scenes means sneak peeks of what we’ll see IN the first season, and potentially beyond! ©HBO The trailer for the behind-the-scenes special features multiple different creators on the show working in their respective departments. We see camera operators catching students walking through the woods and castle, production designer Mara LePere-Schloop designing a small model as well as a large-scale set, and actors Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall) and Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape) discussing seeing some of the sets for the first time. In the trailer, LePere Schloop says, “To be able to build at a scale like this, it’s just a designer’s dream. We’re trying to get in the joy and playfulness of what it means to be a magical kid. To play in a sandbox that’s this big, it’s incredible. We’re adding a level of world-building beyond what the audience is familiar with.” ©HBO The trailer closes out with John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore) growing emotional as he says, “You wait forever to do something that means that much to people.” You’ll need to have HBO Max to stream the special, as well as the new series when it releases this December. Wanna drink “around the world” in EPCOT on your next Disney trip? Well, you need to read this FIRST. Grand Marnier Orange Slush Drinking around the world is a popular challenge for folks doing bachelor/bachelorette trips, 21st birthdays, or just traveling with other adults. If done right, it can be accomplished, but you have to be careful about how you tackle it. Today, we’re sharing the full guide to drinking around EPCOT’s World Showcase! The Rules of Alcohol Before we dive into the tips, tricks, and recommendations, there are some basic rules we’ve got to go over when you’re planning to consume alcohol in Disney World (or, well, anywhere public). First, and most important, is that you need to drink responsibly. Don’t overindulge, don’t go past your limit, and stop if you need to. Remember that EPCOT is still a family park. Italian Margarita For your own personal health, one thing you’ve got to remember while drinking in Disney World is that hydration is SO important. You’re already walking thousands of steps a day, and it’s probably pretty hot when you’re visiting. If you don’t hydrate, you’ll find yourself feeling ill very quickly. A good rule of thumb is to drink a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage. Choza de Margarita And of course, another big rule to keep in mind is you need to EAT in between your drinks! You can’t go all day with just alcohol in your stomach, and eating frequently will help keep you going toward your goal. Jambon Beurre Last but not least, make sure to be on your best behavior. Remember that there are other guests in the park, especially children, and treat Cast Members with kindness. Be mindful of your personal alcohol limit, and cut yourself off if necessary, especially before Disney security has to. You don’t want to be that guy! And of course, don’t drink and drive. If you drove to EPCOT and can’t drive after, order a rideshare or take Disney transportation. 4 Rules You’re Accidentally Breaking in EPCOT Most Popular Drinks/Stops in Each Country Starting in Mexico, the most popular stops here are either La Cava del Tequila or Choza de Margarita. La Cava del Tequila is known for handmade, handcrafted drinks and is famous for its Avocado Margarita. For the frozen, pre-made beverages with a shorter wait time, go to Choza de Margarita. Avocado Margarita Next up, we’ve got Norway. Here, the Viking Coffee is a popular choice at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. They also serve Nordic Draft Beer here. And while you’re there, make sure to grab some pastries! Viking Coffee In the China Pavilion, the most common beverage stop is Joy of Tea, where you can order the Tipsy Ducks in Love (with Bourbon, black tea, coffee, cream, and chocolate) or the Dragon Butterfly (which has Butterfly Pea Flower Gin, vodka, green tea, lemonade, soda water, hibiscus, and dragon fruit syrups with blueberry popping boba). Basically, most of the drinks here have some sort of tea base — very fitting for the culture! Tipsy Ducks in Love If you’d like, after that, you can stop at the African Outpost. The only place to order here is Refreshment Outpost, which has seasonal beverage offerings depending on the season and whether or not there’s a festival happening in EPCOT. Boyd & Blair Blood Orange Cosmo The next “true” country is Germany, which means it’s time for beer! The Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen – Germany is a popular choice in this pavilion, and you can order it at Sommerfest or at the beer stand in the courtyard. Germany Beer Stand In Italy, the go-to spot is either Tutto Italia for wine, spritz, bellini, or the Italian Sangria, OR you can stop by Gelateria Toscana to grab the Italian Margarita or one of their alcoholic gelato creations. A dessert and a drink in one! Italian Sangria Up next is the American Adventure. Here, you’re probably looking for a beer, cider, or ale, and there are a few options. There’s an outdoor bar by Regal Eagle Smokehouse, or you could go to Block & Hans to grab something like the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale or the Orange Blossom Pilsner. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale Once you get to Japan, there’s a small little stand at the edge of the pavilion called Kabuki Cafe. Here, we love the Sake Mist, which you can order in Blood Orange, Coconut Pineapple, or Blackberry. It’s basically alcoholic shaved ice, and it’s perfect for a hot day! Another fan-favorite spot is the small Garden House stand in the courtyard, where you can get the popular Violet Sake or Tokyo Sunset. Garden House After that, you’ve got Morocco, where you’ll likely make a quick pit stop at Oasis Sips & Sweets to grab the Opici Family Sangria, the Blood Orange Mimosa, or the Frozen Citrus-Pomegranate Slushy. You might even go more unique and get the Frozen Mint Tea. If you’re interested in sitting down, you could take a food break as well and get a table and some small plates at Spice Road Table — it has a full bar. Spice Road Table We’re getting toward the end, so hang in there, because our next stop is FRANCE! Honestly, the typical choice here is Les Vins des Chefs de France, a stand across from the restaurant of the same name. People love the Orange Slush (with Grand Marnier, rum, Grey Goose Orange, and orange juice) and the Citron Slush (with Grey Goose Citron, Vodka, and lemonade) here. Les Vins des Chefs de France Slushes The United Kingdom has one spot that’s beloved above the rest, and fans get HYPED about visiting there — the Rose & Crown Pub has a fun atmosphere and a wide variety of cocktails, flights, scotch whiskey, and pub blends. Many people love the Snake Bite Imperial Pint, which is a blend of cider and Harp Lager. Rose & Crown Pub Finally, we come to the end of our journey with Canada, where the most popular spot to stop is, oddly, the popcorn cart. There, you’ll find the Ottawa Apple, made with Crown Royal Whisky, Maple, Apple Infusion, and Cranberry Juice. It’s a great end to your journey! Canada Popcorn Cart Those are some of the most popular drinks, bars, and stops, but what about the hidden gems? For More Drink Recommendations in World Showcase, Click Here! Hidden Gems You’re definitely not required to stop at any of the spots we mentioned above or order any of those drinks. In fact, sometimes you have a better experience when you avoid those choices! There are a few spots around World Showcase that are less popular and make for a better experience with drinking around the world. Wine in France Our first recommendation is the hidden Sangria Bar in Morocco. To find this spot, you’ll need to go off the beaten pathway, back into the bazaar. Near Jasmine’s meet-and-greet, there’s a little stand that sells sangria, as well as beer and hard cider, roasted chickpeas, mixed dates and nuts, and marinated olives. Its official name is the Morocco Snack and Beverage Cart — sexy, we know. It doesn’t seem to have set or regular hours, so you may just have to “happen” upon it and see if it’s open during your visit. White Sangria Another little-known spot is Weinkeller in the Germany Pavilion. This is a shop that sells bottles of wine and other souvenirs, but there’s also a hidden bar in the back of the store! Here, you can purchase wine by the glass, beers, and liqueurs, including the Mozart Chocolate Liqueur. Weinkeller In Japan, there’s a small Sake Bar tucked away upstairs between Teppan Edo and Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. Not many folks know about it, and it’s most often visited by people dining at the restaurants. You don’t need a reservation to stop by, though! Teppan Edo Sake Bar Along these lines, three gift shops in EPCOT have hidden “bars” inside them, where you can buy something simple like a glass of wine. France has Les Vins de France toward the back of the pavilion, and Italy has a small order counter inside Enoteca Castello. Canada has a spot called Trading Post Refreshments in the back of its only gift shop. Enoteca Castello So if you’re looking to drink “off the beaten path” in the park, those should be some of your go-tos Best Value Disney World Lounges for 2026 Tips and Best Practices Looking for some insider tips? Let’s go! We recommend sharing drinks if you’re not used to drinking at this level — remember, there are 11 countries in total, and 12 if you count African Outpost. A great way to share drinks or to get smaller “tastes” is by purchasing flights with friends. The Citrus Blossom Beverage Flight If you’re visiting EPCOT during a festival, don’t forget to take a look at the booth menus! Often, these booths have more interesting beverage options in smaller (and more affordable) portions. Instead of getting full pours, you can go for 6-oz drinks and hurt a lot less at the end of the day. Opening Bites Beer Flight at the Festival of the Arts Not a drinker, but traveling with people who are? Mocktails may not be the way to go. Sometimes they’re overpriced and underwhelming in EPCOT, so instead, consider “snacking around the world” as your alternative. You can keep your drinking friends fed, as well! School Bread Also, it’s important to note that if you purchase a sealed alcoholic beverage in a gift shop, you may not be allowed to open it inside the park. We ran into this issue with the new canned drinks in the Japan Pavilion. There, you’ll need to buy them at Garden House instead of Mitsukoshi if you want to consume them during your visit. When in doubt, ask the Cast Members. Mitsukoshi Don’t forget to pace yourself when doing this challenge. Stop and enjoy each country. See the entertainment, do a ride, grab a meal. Don’t rush. If you don’t feel like you can continue, it’s okay to stop. In fact, you can even go into your EPCOT day deciding to skip a few countries if you’re not interested in what they have to offer. Remember, you don’t HAVE to drink around the world in EPCOT, even if other members of your party are! Only attempt this challenge if you really want to, and when you do attempt it, be responsible. If you’ve been sleeping on MagicBand+, now is genuinely the worst time to keep doing that. MagicBand+ Disney has been quietly dropping some of its most exciting wearable designs in recent months, and a handful of them are already sitting in that dangerous territory between “still available” and “completely gone forever.” Whether you’re heading to the parks soon or just want to make sure your collection stays current, these four designs are worth grabbing before the rest of the internet catches on. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Calling All Zootopia Fans! ©Disney Picking a MagicBand can feel overwhelming when everything starts to blend together on the rack. If you want something that stands out without feeling overly loud, a character-driven design with a fresh color palette makes a big difference. The Zootopia MagicBand+ hits that sweet spot. With Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde featured on a pastel strap and the “Where anyone can be anything” motto on the tappable icon, it feels playful without being over the top. Plus, like all MagicBand+ options, it reacts to park interactions with lighting effects and gesture recognition, which adds a fun extra layer to your day in the parks. Take a look at it before your next park day. view ON Disney store To Infinity and Beyond! ©Disney Limited-release items at Disney World have a habit of vanishing quickly, especially when they celebrate something as big as a milestone anniversary. Waiting until you arrive can mean missing out entirely. This Toy Story 30th Anniversary MagicBand+ is exactly the kind of collectible fans rush for. It features Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, and even the Green Army Men on a festive plaid strap, along with a “30 Years” Alien icon. It is both a functional park tool and a keepsake tied to a major Disney Pixar celebration, which is why demand is so high. If you want to secure one ahead of time, you can grab it here. view ON disney store You’ll be Painting all the Colors of the Wind ©Disney Anniversary designs are always popular, but some films don’t get as much merchandise love, which makes those items even more sought after when they finally arrive. That scarcity can catch fans off guard. The Pocahontas 30th Anniversary MagicBand+ leans into that. The strap features Pocahontas alongside anniversary branding, while the tappable icon uses a compass design that feels true to the story. It is subtle, elegant, and a meaningful nod to a film that does not always get the spotlight. Add in the interactive MagicBand+ features, and you have something that feels both personal and practical. You might want to check availability before your trip right here. view ON disney store Dig a bit Deeper for this One ©Disney With Tiana’s presence continuing to grow in the parks, themed merchandise tied to her story is getting harder to keep in stock. Guests are actively looking for ways to match their park outfits or celebrate her story during their visit. This Tiana MagicBand+ is perfect for that. The design highlights Tiana and her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace, with a water lily icon that ties everything together. It feels polished and cohesive, and like the others, it lights up and reacts during select park moments. It is a great pick if you want something that feels both stylish and connected to what you will experience in the parks. You can check it out here before it’s gone. view ON disney store MagicBand+ designs are more than just accessories. Spread throughout Disney World, you’ll find a wide variety of little snack stands. Peevy’s Polar Pipeline There are dozens upon dozens of these spots, and sometimes they house hidden gems, like a fan favorite snack or a unique beverage. One such snack stand is Peevy’s Polar Pipeline in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’ve probably walked right past it on prior visits, but we recently stopped by to give it a review! The menu here is fairly limited, with a few different slush options, as well as some alcoholic versions. You can also buy bottled drinks and ice cream novelties. Menu We started out with the Minute Maid Lemonade for $6.29, which is served frozen in a cup. This was surprisingly light and had a very moderate lemon flavor. Minute Maid Lemonade The lemon isn’t particularly strong, so you might miss some of the signature tartness of regular lemonade. The texture is very ICEE-like, making it almost fluffy so that it melts easily when you’re outside on a warm day. The paper straw we were given wasn’t great for consuming this treat, so we’d recommend bringing a reusable one. Refreshing! Our other item of choice was a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich for $6.29. This is your classic chocolate Mickey-shaped sandwich filled with cookies and cream ice cream. Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich Like usual, the cookies were soft and easy to eat while the ice cream itself was smooth and creamy. Delicious cookies and cream flavor — honestly, this is an unsung hero of the Disney World snack carts, and we think it deserves more hype! YUM So, should you visit Peevy’s Polar Pipeline? This is a great spot to stop if you need something cold to help you chill out on a hot day or if you’re particularly interested in their alcoholic slushy options. It’s not usually too busy because it’s tucked away in Echo Lake, so it’s a decent snack stop. For more snack reviews and Disney World updates, subscribe to our newsletter and our YouTube channel. Over at all three of Universal Orlando‘s parks, you’ll find a section dedicated to Harry Potter. Inside those spots, you’ll find butterbeer and butterbeer snacks galore — there are often so many, it’s a little hard to pick what to get! Butterbeer Shortbread Bar Now, this gets easier if you’re often visiting the parks, or going on a longer trip, since you can often try more of the treats. Even then, though, we think it’s important that you know which ones are at the high of your list. The last thing you want is to spend money on a treat you don’t end up liking! That’s why, when we heard that there was a new Butterbeer shortbread treat in Universal Studios, we knew we had to go try it out ASAP. You’ll find the Butterbeer Shortbread Bar for $8 at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. This treat was introduced for Butterbeer Season across Universal Orlando, which takes place from March 1st through May 31st — yes, that means that you’ve only got about two more months to grab this treat, unless Universal decides to keep it around. Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley This bar is definitely pretty greasy and buttery, but for good reason! The main flavor here comes from the salted caramel in between the shortbread, but thanks to the salt in there, it’s not overly sweet, even when combined with the shortbread. However, that does mean that the flavor here is more salted caramel and a slight butterscotch flavor rather than Butterbeer itself. It didn’t bother us too much, but if you’re specifically looking for Butterbeer flavor, you may be a little disappointed. Butterbeer Shortbread Bar The chocolate drizzle on top really brings it all together, but we do warn you that the Butterbeer fondant piece on top is really just for show, as it’s fondant. Yes, you can eat it, but it’s not the best tasting! It was soft to bite into and a little flaky, but not overly so, making it a great walking-around treat. We’re big fans! If you’re a big fan of the Caramel Butter Bar at Karamell-Küche in EPCOT, you’ll likely like this a lot, especially because it’s less greasy! We think both of the treats are both solid, so we wouldn’t put one over the other, unless that grease factor is a big deal for you. Caramel Butter Bar Looking for more recent reviews? When it comes to great dining, we once might have suggested that you don’t miss Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Of course, that was back before it was a pre-fixe menu for both lunch and dinner (and we really miss what lunch used to be like there). Dessert at Be Our Guest Now, we’re not as much fans of this restaurant as we once were, although if you want to see inside Beast’s castle, you HAVE to dine here. The truth is, we haven’t always felt like the high cost of the meal is worth the experience to do that. Well, we recently revisited Be Our Guest Restaurant to see if our minds could be changed. So let’s find out! Atmosphere As we mentioned, this is the only way to get inside Beast’s castle. The restaurant serves French-inspired food and drinks in a setting straight out of the Beauty and the Beast film. Let’s eat in Beast’s castle Once inside, you’ll be taken to one of three themed dining rooms: The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, or The Rose Gallery. Each room has a beautiful design that you’ll want to explore each to find all the hidden Beauty and the Beast details. Be sure to explore for details You’ll even get to see Beast’s enchanted rose! The enchanted rose Oh, and did we mention that Beast will put in an appearance just to say hello from time to time? The Beast at Be Our Guest Restaurant But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Be Our Guest offers a prix fixe menu for both lunch and dinner that costs $72 per adult and $43 per child. Adults get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert, while kids get to choose one appetizer, one entree with two sides, and one dessert. Let’s look at the adults’ menu. Current appetizers include soups, like Blue Crab Bisque and French Onion soup. Appetizers Entrees include French classics like Steak Frites, Filet Mignon, and more. Entrees You can also add enhancements to your meal for an additional cost, like bacon, shrimp, and fondue. Desserts include a Blooming Rose, a Creme Brulee Tart, and a plant-based version of the Grey Stuff. Enhancements and dessert To drink, you can order a variety of specialty cocktails… Specialty Cocktails …champagne, beer, wine… Champagne, beer, and wine …and specialty non-alcoholic drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up The Handsome Brute, which has to be Gaston-coded, right? For $17.50, you get a cocktail made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Chambord Liqueur, Pomegranate Juice, and Lemon Juice, garnished with a Sugared Rim and Raspberries. Unlike Gaston, this drink is very balanced. You get a wonderful raspberry flavor that pairs well with the vodka. The pomegranate and lemon juices add a nice level of tartness. The Handsome Brute The sugar on the rim adds a nice sweetness. We also like that the rim is only half-sugared, so you can choose how you want to take each sip. A handsome brute, indeed. Eats For our appetizer, we chose the French Onion Soup au Gratin, made with a Rich Beef Broth, Sherry Wine, and Swiss Cheese. We almost ALWAYS get this appetizer because it’s just basically LAYER AFTER LAYER OF CHEESE, and you know how we feel about cheese. French onion soup au gratin The soup is hot and bubbling when it arrives, and the flavors just mesh so well together: the onion-y broth, the cheese, and the hint of acidity from the wine. If you love cheese as much as we do, this is the ONLY appetizer you need to order. LOOK at that cheese pull For our entrée, we chose the Dry-Aged Duroc Pork Chop, which is not our usual order here. It’s served with Garlic Confit Mashed Potatoes, Root Vegetables, and Whole-Grain Mustard Sauce. So we’ll admit that this surprised us! We ended up with a perfectly cooked pork chop and smooth and creamy mashed potatoes with just the right amount of garlic. The root vegetables added a nice balance, and we loved getting that onion flavor from the leeks. Dry-Aged Duroc Pork Chop The star of the show (or should we say the BELLE of the ball?) is the mustard sauce, though. It’s creamy with just enough mustard to add flavor when dipping the pork chop into it. We also dipped some leftover bread from the bread service in the sauce because we weren’t going to leave ANY of it behind. That sauce, though For dessert, we chose the Crème Brûlée Tart, made with orange custard, passion fruit meringue, and chantilly cream. Well, this is where the meal fell apart. At the time, this had replaced the Dessert Trio, and it just does NOT compare. The cream in the tart was not set properly, and it was goopy. There is a nice citrus taste to it, and we have to say the crust and meringue are tasty. But this one is a nope from us. Creme Brulee Tart The good news is that this was actually recently replaced again since we visited Be Our Guest. The Dessert Trio is back on the menu, and we believe it’s a much better choice. Dessert Trio at Be Our Guest (2024) Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… Want the BEST in Disney theming when you dine. This restaurant makes you feel like you’ve stepped right into the story of Beauty and the Beast. Every little detail is meant to bring back the vibes of the movie, and you’ll feel like Belle is going to pop up at any time and start singing. The themed rooms are epic in different ways. This is Disney theming at its finest. You’ve got kids in your group or just HUGE Beauty and the Beast fans. Kids are going to LOVE this restaurant because of the theming and the ability to see the enchanted rose from the movie. You can even order the Grey Stuff for dessert, and Beast comes out to greet you. If you want to impress your family and make them feel like royalty, this is where to do it. You want French Onion Soup. If you’ve been thinking about French Onion Soup with gobs of cheese on top, this is where you need to be. Maybe the rest of the menu isn’t always consistent, but the French Onion Soup here will never let you down, and it’s one of the few places in Disney World you can get it. You should skip this Disney World spot if… Want photos with Belle and Beast. You won’t find Belle here…like at all. And although you will see Beast, this is not a meet and greet type of situation. He’ll pop into the dining room during your meal, but you can’t get personal photos with him or any of the other characters from Beauty and the Beast. Don’t like Prix Fixe meals. This restaurant is pricey, and yes, you get three courses, but honestly, it’s a lot of food, and you’re locked down into ordering all three courses. That means you probably won’t eat all of what you’re served, so you can still have some room by the time dessert arrives. That also means that this meal will take time out of what might already be a busy Magic Kingdom day. You want a 5-star meal. If you’re expecting this to be Michelin-star type dining, well, it’s not. Now, we’re not saying this is the worst restaurant in Disney World, but at the same time, it certainly isn’t the best either. This is not fine dining, regardless of how the atmosphere says it is. We’ve found that the food can be inconsistent here, so save your money for something a little more fine dining. Overall Be Our Guest might seem like a special restaurant, but the food isn’t always consistent with the atmosphere. And although you do get to see Beast here, you don’t get a chance to have a meet-and-greet opportunity with him to take photos. The food here isn’t always consistent, although we will always order the French Onion Soup for as long as it’s on the menu. This is an experience, especially at $72 per person, but you’ll have to decide if the experience is worth it, especially as it will take time out of your Magic Kingdom day. There are a lot of things that can unravel a Disney World day with shocking speed. A missed Lightning Lane. A hangry child. A grown adult who suddenly realizes they’ve been standing in direct Florida sun for four straight hours dressed like they’re auditioning for “Cute Mom at EPCOT.” But one of the sneakiest vacation villains of all? Sunscreen drama. ©Disney Because in theory, sunscreen is simple. In reality, it is an Olympic event. Especially if you are trying to apply it to a squirming toddler who has chosen this exact moment to discover free will, upper-body strength, and the ability to vanish from a stroller like a tiny caffeinated magician. Everybody’s hot. Everybody’s sticky. Somebody is crying because their Mickey bar broke. Somebody else is crying because the first person is crying. You are desperately trying to prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage while your child is attempting a prison break toward the nearest popcorn cart. So yes, I never thought I’d become the kind of person who gets genuinely emotional over a better sunscreen setup. And yet, here we are. Because these three products? They made my Disney park bag so much smarter, my reapplication routine so much easier, and my overall day approximately ten times less feral. Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator The Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator is for parents who are one minor inconvenience away from a villain monologue. Let’s start with the one that feels the most delightfully extra until you use it once and suddenly become its unpaid publicist. Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator The Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator is a refillable applicator designed to make sunscreen less messy and easier for kids to use on their own. It’s child-friendly, refillable, mess-free, and holds 100 mL, which is about 3.4 fluid ounces, making it a travel-friendly size for tossing in a park bag. And that, my friends, is where the magic lives. Because traditional sunscreen application with kids often looks like this: you squeeze too much into your palm, your child recoils like you’re holding molten lava, half of it ends up on the stroller buckle, and now everyone is greasy and furious. Solar Buddies takes that whole sticky little circus and calms it down. The roller and sponge design helps spread sunscreen without turning your hands into an oil slick, and it also gives older kids a little independence, which can be huge when they’re in that “I DO IT” phase of life. Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator Honestly, this feels like the kind of thing you buy thinking, “This is probably unnecessary,” and then halfway through your Magic Kingdom day, you’re clutching it like it personally saved your family vacation. This is especially great for body sunscreen touch-ups when you do not have the emotional bandwidth for a full sunscreen wrestling match in the middle of Fantasyland. view ON AMAZON Pipette Baby Mineral Sunscreen Stick The Pipette Baby Mineral Sunscreen Stick is the sensitive-skin MVP. Now let’s talk about the product that says, “I came prepared for cheeks, noses, ears, and all the other little spots that somehow get missed until it is too late.” The Pipette Baby Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 is made with 100% mineral, non-nano zinc oxide, offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection, is water-resistant, and comes in a portable, twist-up stick format that the brand pitches as mess-free and easy for face and body. Pipette also positions it as baby-safe and suitable for sensitive skin. ©Amazon And if you’ve ever had a kid scream because sunscreen got too close to their eyes, you already understand why a stick format can feel like a gift from the heavens. This is the one I’d keep within immediate reach for the high-risk zones: noses, cheeks, ears, shoulders, and that one random strip of forehead your hat somehow didn’t cover. It’s compact, easy to swipe on, and a lot less chaotic than trying to do a delicate face sunscreen application with lotion while your child is twisting like a cat being lowered into a bathtub. Pipette Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Also, mineral sunscreen tends to be a popular choice for families with sensitive skin, so for a lot of parents, this kind of product just makes logistical sense. It’s not glamorous. It’s not flashy. It’s just one of those very satisfying practical items that makes you feel like you deserve a tiny medal and maybe an iced coffee. view ON AMAZON Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick The Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick is for the adult who wants to reapply without looking like a grease puff. Now for the grown-up park bag hero. The Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+ is a clear, broad-spectrum sunscreen stick that the brand says can be reapplied anytime, anywhere, over or under makeup, with a lightweight and invisible finish for all skin types. That “over or under makeup” part is what makes this one so good for Disney days. Because adults need sunscreen reapplication too, but there is a very specific form of suffering that occurs when you’ve finally achieved a decent park face, maybe even a little concealer, maybe even a brave summer brow, and now it’s 1:30 PM and you know you absolutely should reapply sunscreen but you also don’t want to smear your whole face into a humid little tragedy. This is where a clear sunscreen stick earns its keep. ©Amazon It’s quick. It’s portable. It doesn’t require you to dump lotion into your palm in the middle of a queue while juggling a phone, a resort refill mug, and the vague remains of your dignity. For the adult in the family who wants easy face reapplication without a whole skincare reset, this is the one that makes the most sense. It’s also the kind of product that feels a little fancy in your park bag, which I support fully. Disney World is a place where we will spend twenty minutes debating mobile order windows for chicken nuggets. You are allowed one elegant sunscreen moment. view ON AMAZON Why These Actually Matter in Disney World Here’s the thing: a Disney World day is long. Like, suspiciously long. You can start in the parks bright-eyed and optimistic, and by midafternoon, you’re sweaty, overstimulated, slightly sunblasted, and wondering whether your family has always made this much noise. That is exactly why sunscreen products that are easy to reapply matter so much. Tree of Life Sunscreen is not the thing you slap on once in the hotel room at 7:15 AM and then emotionally hope for the best. If you’re spending all day in the parks, you need a reapplication plan. And the easier that plan is, the more likely it is to happen without a family mutiny. That’s what these products do well. They take sunscreen from “Ugh, we have to deal with this again?” to “Okay, fine, we can handle this in under two minutes.” That is not a small win on vacation. That is operational excellence.
