For many Disney World hotel guests, the hotel pool is one of the highlights of their trip! Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts From huge, feature-filled water playgrounds that are arguably comparable to water parks to small, quiet bastions of relaxation, there are plenty of options to choose from. But, even fun activities like Disney World hotel pools come with rules — and there are a few you should pay a bit more close attention to, or you’ll be caught off-guard! No Food & Drinks IN the Pool Okay, so this one may throw some people, as they’ll understandably respond with “But nearly every Disney World hotel has a pool bar!” And they’d be right, as hotels ranging from the value tiers like Pop Century… Petals Pool Bar …to the Deluxe Tier Grand Floridian feature pool bars with drinks and food menus. Beaches Pool Bar & Grill Obviously, those food and drink options can be enjoyed in the pool area, NOT in the pool. No, not even if you’re just sitting on the edge with your feet in the pool. However, there is one thing you won’t find at the pool bars. NO Glass Containers You won’t be bringing any of your drinks from the pool bars over to your chair in a glass cup or container, as real glass is BARRED from both the pools and the pool area for safety reasons. This couldn’t come into the pool area! Metal tumblers and plastic cups or containers are fine, though! Adult Supervision Children under the age of 12 must have adult supervision in the pool areas, including main and kiddie pools. So, sorry parents, but if your kids are 11 or under, you won’t be able to drop them off at the pool while heading out to enjoy an adult meal, etc. Fuentes del Morro Pool Now speaking of kids near the pool… Water Play Area Restrictions Any Disney hotel features adjacent water play areas, with fun theming and water features. However, these areas are reserved for kids who stand 48″ or under. So, no older kids, no teens, and no adults. Grand Floridian water play area. We know, we know, playing on these splash pads and playgrounds looks extremely fun; however, you’ll have to get your kicks somewhere else. You Can’t Pool Hop… with Some Exceptions So generally, Disney’s current rules don’t allow pool hopping to other resorts. Pool Rules at Disney’s Pop Century Resort However, there are a few exceptions: Guests at Port Orleans can use that hotel’s Doubloon Lagoon Pool, as well as Port Orleans — Riverside’s Ol’ Man Island and its large pool, spa, kiddie pool, a wading pool, and even a small water slide. Guests staying at any of Disney’s three All-Star Resorts (Sports, Music, or Movies) can visit any of the All-Star pools! At All-Star Music, there are the Calypso and Piano Pools, All-Star Movies has the Fantasia and Duck Pond Pools, and at All-Star Sports, you’ll find the Surfboard Bay and Grand Slam Pools. Finally, guests at Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts can bounce between the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove Pools, as well as quite possibly all of Disney World: Stormalong Bay. With its sand-bottom pool, pirate ship slide, and lazy river, this complex is closer to a miniature water park than it is simply a pool! Doubloon Lagoon Pool at Port Orleans Make sure to study up on these pool rules before your next Disney World trip to ensure you have the most possible fun in the sun at your hotel pool! If you’re heading to the Magic Kingdom this May, there are some major changes you need to be prepared for. Magic Kingdom From scheduling changes, new offerings, and special events to a new show and the return of an iconic attraction, Disney World’s first theme park has a very busy month ahead. Big Thunder Mountain Returns After a refurbishment that lasted well over a year, the legendary Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set to reopen on May 3rd. The ride, which has been closed since January 2025, is returning with “new magic,” including a fully refurbished track and a new sequence inspired by the Rainbow Caverns of Disneyland’s Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. In conjunction with its reopening, the ride will be added to the park’s Tier 1 Lightning Lane selections. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom Read more about the changes coming to Big Thunder Mountain HERE! An Early Closure The Magic Kingdom will be closing at 5:30 PM for a private event on May 13th, so if you’re planning to be at Walt Disney World that day, you’ll need different plans for nighttime entertainment and dining. Happily Ever After won’t be offered that night. The Toys are Back in Town The Diamond Horseshoe — one of the Magic Kingdom’s oldest and longest neglected eateries — is getting new life in May with the Toy Story-themed Jessie’s Roundup show during the Cool Kids Summer promotion. The show will feature allowing guests to join Jessie, Woody, and friends to craft, dance, and “yodel their hearts out.” The show will make the first live entertainment in the Diamond Horseshoe in over two decades. From the Magic Kingdom’s opening in 1971 through 2004, the restaurant — which has alternated between table service and quick service throughout its history — has hosted several incarnations of the Diamond Horseshoe Revue… and Goofy’s Country Dancin’ Jamboree. One of those things is certainly not like the other. The promotion begins May 26th. Diamond Horseshoe Early Entry Characters Also, during the Cool Kids Summer promotion, hotel guests eligible for Early Entry will be able to meet a rotating cast of Disney characters at each park — including the Magic Kingdom — before the park opens to the general public. Meaning that, at least some guests who usually rush to rides will instead try to knock out character meet & greets in the early morning. Judging by previous examples, there’s no list of which characters will be available in each park, but they WILL be different! Disney is encouraging guests to visit the different parks for Early Entry throughout their trip so they can take advantage of all the special meet and greets. Now, it’s important to note that this won’t take away from any of the regularly scheduled meet and greets in each park throughout regular park hours — it’s just in addition to what’s already scheduled. Early entry sign! After Hours Events The Magic Kingdom will play host to 4 After Hours Events during May, on May 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. The events allow guests to enjoy beloved attractions with lower wait times, and exclusively experience the Disney Enchantment fireworks spectacular, and enjoy snacks, included in the cost of this ticketed event. After Hours If you’re headed to the “Most Magical Place on Earth” this May, be prepared for some major Magic Kingdom changes. If you’re a frequent flyer with budget airlines, we have some pretty big news. ©Spirit Airlines According to ABC News, Spirit Airlines could be headed for liquidation. The popular budget airline hasn’t formally commented on the rumors, saying the company “[does not] comment on market rumors and speculation.” Despite this, reports are saying the airline could “go out of business overnight.” Earlier this week, reports started circulating that Spirit Airlines is “navigating financial restructuring” that could lead to the airline’s closure. Bloomberg shared that the airline could start selling off its assets in the next few days, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation. Spirit Airlines at Orlando Airport Despite the concerns, Katy Nastro, a travel expert with the airfare monitoring site Going, said there is “no way of knowing when and if an airline will liquidate, leaving customers stranded.” She also noted it isn’t a secret that the airline has been struggling for a few years after the pandemic. ©Spirit Airlines It is important to note that it’s pretty rare to see an airline liquidate, but Ben Mutzabaugh, senior managing editor for aviation at The Points Guy, said, “There’s not much more corrective action they can do — they are up against the wall.” He said if the liquidation does occur, that’s a good sign the airline will be going out of business. In the past, when airlines have liquidated in this way, they have essentially shut down “overnight,” according to a CBS reporter. ©Spirit Airlines If this does happen, other airlines already have plans in place for what’s called “rescue fares.” These tickets are discounted tickets that will offer people a one-way ticket home if Spirit were to actually shut down. While we can’t be sure what will happen just yet, if you’re flying with Spirit Airlines anytime soon, it will be a good idea to have a plan in place to get you home if needed. Spirit Airlines Spirit Airlines is continuing to operate normally, with flights taking off as scheduled and the company continuing to accept new bookings. The airline has filed for bankruptcy twice in recent years, once in August 2025 and earlier in November 2024. Many are listing rising fuel costs as an additional issue for the airline, as well as other budget airlines. Frontier Plane at the Orlando Airport The airline is Florida-based, so this could also mean issues for travelers headed to the beach or to theme parks this summer. So what do you do if you have a Spirit ticket booked right now? Katy Nastro says if their airline does liquidate, you should “not cancel outright, because then you forfeit your right to a refund if there’s still some money left over to be able to do so.” Experts also shared that those most likely to get their money back are the ones who booked with a credit card. Spirit Airlines We will be sure to monitor these changes closely. Be sure to keep following DFB for more travel news, updates, and more. This week, we got some HUGE news about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Yes, the Muppets are taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and now we know when folks will be able to ride the new attraction, from early previews to the roller coaster’s official opening date of May 26th. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets However, we also got a lot more DETAILS about the ride, including a first look, as well as a complete song list of what you’ll hear while you’re on the ride. Now, of course, Disney fans have some BIG opinions about this news, so let’s see what some of y’all had to say! So the biggest news we recently got about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets was the list of songs you’ll hear on the ride: “Song 2” by The Electric Mayhem (made famous by Blur) “Born To Be Wild” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken (made famous by Steppenwolf) “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson Now, fans immediately commented that Disney might have missed out on a huge opportunity by not including an Aerosmith song, considering the ride’s roots. On Facebook, Nick commented, “Think this is a good list of songs, but I wouldn’t have at least put an Aerosmith song on there. That wasn’t featured on the original Ride instead of walking on sunshine.” [sic] ©Disney On Reddit, user dogsaybark wrote: “I only wish they had given us at least one Muppetafied Aerosmith track. Common! [sic] Respect history!“ Other fans didn’t seem to mind the ride getting rid of Aerosmith altogether. On Reddit, user drksolrsing wrote, “While I will miss the Aerosmith aesthetic, I think this will be a fun coaster.” ©Disney Now, we don’t know for sure that EVERY little bit of Aerosmith has been scrubbed for the ride. For all we know, there are a few surprise Easter eggs in the ride that point back to its Aerosmith roots. Other Redditors loved the songs chosen for the ride. User JackPhlash wrote, “Went a little deep with Def Leppard and I’m here for it.” Redditor crackerfactorywheel commented, “The list of songs feels kinda random but I’m not mad about it.” ©Disney On Instagram, @minnie.and.megs commented, “I’m the most excited for walking on sunshine .” [sic] Funny thing, a lot of folks recognized Love Rollercoaster as the song you hear in Final Destination during the scene with the log truck (and if you just cringed, you know what we’re talking about). Instagram user eli17345 commented, “Love Rollercoaster nooooooooooooooooo that’s like going behind a truck with logs.” ©Warner Bros. Some Redditors are just not impressed with any of the songs. PowSuperMum commented, “This playlist is so mid. If I wanted to hear these songs I’d go to the grocery store.” MasterManMike wrote, “I really hate that there isn’t a single muppet original song here… and that only TWO of the 5 songs are solely performed by muppets.” ©Disney Meanwhile, Redditor SkyYellow_SuneBlue wrote, “Aggressively mediocre song choices…” It seems like Disney fans are split on how they feel about the ride so far. Of course, we won’t know for sure how hard these songs will slap until we ride the attraction when it opens. So we’ll see how it goes, and we expect that Disney has probably thrown in some surprises on the ride that we don’t know about yet. Stay tuned to DFB to stay updated! Oh, we are SO ready to make a splash! Blizzard Beach In case you didn’t know, we are totally obsessed with Disney World hotel perks. We love booking our Lightning Lanes early and getting those hard-to-snag dining reservations before the rest of the public, let alone all the free transportation and how close everything is to the parks. One perk we’re absolutely obsessed with is free tickets to the water parks! After patiently waiting, Disney has finally confirmed the Free Water Park Entry perk will return in 2027! Everybody, grab those goggles! Blizzard Beach On their website, Disney shared, “This benefit will also be available for Guests staying at an eligible Resort hotel in summer 2027, excluding the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Stay tuned for more information and dates.” In 2026, the perk is only available from May 26th to September 8th, 2026, so we’re eager to see if that stays the same for next year. Pineapple Upside-down Cone at Typhoon Lagoon This hotel perk is a great way to start your vacation off in a strong way at no extra cost to you! When the perk begins, it will give Disney hotel guests free admission to one of Disney World’s water parks on the day they check in to the resort. As it currently operates, you cannot move your free admission to any other day of your visit, so it’s use it or lose it! Typhoon Lagoon This perk started in 2025 and allowed all guests for the year to have a free water park ticket on the day of their check-in to a Disney World hotel. In 2026, they changed it to only be during the summer months. Blizzard Beach This is such a great way to kick off your Disney World vacation. You likely aren’t going to buy a whole park pass for the first day of your trip, so the water park tickets let everyone registered in the room go to the water parks for free. If one water park is open, your ticket will be valid there, but if both water parks are open, you can choose one to visit. Typhoon Lagoon You can head to Blizzard Beach… Blizzard Beach …or Typhoon Lagoon! Stitch at Typhoon Lagoon Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? No one accidentally ends up shopping for Loungefly Minnie ears. This is a highly specific spiral. It starts with something innocent like, “I’m just going to look for one cute pair,” and ends with seven browser tabs open, a strong opinion about sherpa, and the sudden belief that you absolutely need holiday ears in April because “planning ahead is smart.” We know. We support the delusion. ALL the ears And Amazon, naturally, is more than happy to enable it. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. If your Disney accessory philosophy is somewhere between “subtle but cute” and “please let my headwear have a full personality,” there are some genuinely fun Loungefly Minnie ear headbands floating around Amazon right now. Some are classic, some are seasonal, some are aggressively adorable, and at least one looks like it was designed for someone who fully intends to become the main character of a resort day. Here are the Loungefly Minnie ears currently tempting our wallets and absolutely refusing to mind their own business. Loungefly Disney Minnie Floral Rock The Dots Headband This pair feels like Minnie got dressed for brunch, ordered something with edible flowers on it, and somehow still looked effortless. The Floral Rock the Dots ears are a nice choice for anyone who wants the classic polka-dot Minnie energy but with a softer, prettier twist. ©Amazon It is still recognizable, still Disney, but less “theme park uniform” and more “I planned a cute outfit around this and I’m not sorry.” view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Mickey and Minnie Holiday Ear Headband Holiday ears can go one of two ways. Either they’re charming and festive, or they look like your head lost a fight with a craft store. This pair lands on the charming side. The Mickey and Minnie Holiday headband has a very storybook Christmas feel to it, which makes it great for anyone already mentally booking their November or December park outfits. ©Amazon Bonus points for the extra detail work and the removable bow situation, which gives this one a little more flair than your average “red and green, call it a day” accessory. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Pastel Ghost Minnie and Mickey Ears Headband These are for the people who want Halloween, but make it adorable. The pastel ghost vibe is very much spooky season with a sugar coating, which means these ears can pull double duty for Disney Halloween fans and anyone whose aesthetic lives permanently in the neighborhood of “cute but a little haunted.” ©Entertainment Earth They also have that glow-in-the-dark detail, which is the sort of nonsense we pretend we’re above right up until we become fully obsessed with it. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Minnie Mouse Vacation Style Headband This pair sounds exactly like what it is: vacation Minnie, relaxed but still camera-ready. These are the ears for pool-day people, cruise people, people who say “resort core” with a straight face, and frankly, people who have earned the right to wear something playful while holding an overpriced frozen drink. ©Amazon They look like sunshine, they feel breezy, and they give off strong “I packed this specifically for a matching vacation photo” energy. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Minnie Pastel Color Block Dots Headband If you like your Disney accessories a little softer and a little less shouty, this is your pair. The pastel color block approach keeps the Minnie-dot concept intact, but it lightens the whole thing up in a way that feels especially easy to wear. ©Amazon These are the ears for the person who wants something sweet, cheerful, and versatile enough to work with more than one outfit, because some of us are trying to make responsible decisions while being wildly irresponsible on Amazon. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Mickey and Minnie Ornament Headband These are unapologetically festive. Not “winter adjacent.” Not “holiday inspired.” Festive. If your ideal December outfit looks like a Christmas tree got promoted to management, these are probably your ears. ©Amazon The ornament design leans hard into the seasonal fun, which makes them perfect for Mickey’s Very Merry energy, holiday parties, or anyone who firmly believes subtlety is for other people. view ON AMAZON Loungefly x Disney Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Valentine’s Ears Headband Valentine’s ears can be tricky because they either go sweet or they go full elementary-school-card-box. This pair lands closer to sweet, with a playful little romantic theme that works well for February trips, date nights in the parks, or anyone who simply enjoys pink and red without needing a calendar-based excuse. ©Amazon They’re cute, flirty, and exactly the kind of thing that makes you say, “These are seasonal, yes, but love is timeless,” while clicking Add to Cart like a poet with Prime shipping. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Minnie Mouse Rocks the Dots Classic Sherpa Ear Headband Sherpa ears are such a funny concept because they are both cozy and deeply impractical in the most charming way possible. These are not trying to be sleek. These are trying to be soft, cute, and just a little extra. The sherpa texture gives the classic Minnie look a fluffier, more loungey vibe, which makes them stand out from the usual faux-leather parade. ©Amazon They feel especially right for cooler weather, cozy outfits, or anyone who wants their Disney accessories to look like they could also star in a holiday rom-com. Just maybe, don’t wear them to a meet and greet with Cruella, because you know how she feels about polka dots and fur. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Parks Minnie Ear Headband Mickey And Friends Castle Icons Purple For the Disney parks icon collectors, this one has a little more “commemorative treasure” energy. The purple D100 design taps into anniversary nostalgia and park-symbol love in a way that feels a bit more specific than your average Minnie ear. ©Amazon This is the pair for people who notice castle details, get emotionally attached to anniversary merch, and would absolutely describe a shade of purple as “regal.” Which, to be fair, this one earns view ON AMAZON The dangerous thing about Loungefly ears is that they are rarely content to let you buy just one pair. There is always a floral pair for spring, a pastel pair for your soft-girl era, a spooky pair for Halloween, a holiday pair for December, and some random wildcard that suddenly becomes essential because your brain whispered, “This would be cute with a denim jacket.” Rude, honestly. We love Ears!! Still, if you’re going to indulge the obsession, Amazon has a pretty fun lineup of Loungefly Minnie ears in the mix right now. Whether your style is classic polka dots, candy-colored pastels, holiday chaos, or cozy sherpa nonsense, there’s something here ready to climb directly into your cart and start acting like it pays rent. And really, that’s the magic of Disney shopping. Sometimes it’s not about need. Sometimes it’s about looking at a pair of pastel ghost ears and saying, with complete sincerity, “Yes. These belong in my life.” We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

‘Round these parts, there’s a village of mischief and nonsense that we have to keep in line! What’s going on within these hallowed walls? Yes siree I’m talking about the Tiny Train Town in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT. This itty bitty city has been filled with crime for years, and we visit it often to keep tabs on its happenings. As the mayor, it’s my job to report those findings back to you guys! Our first stop is the town’s premier wedding chapel, where a police officer has arrived on scene. One of the weddings last weekend got a bit too rowdy and they had to shut down the party. Seriously guys, why did you think the combination of an Elvis impersonator, live peacocks, and free shots of Fireball was a GOOD idea?! The wedding chapel! All the trains seemed to be in working order during this visit, but there was a more sinister problem lurking at one of the depots. There was an IMPOSTOR among the conductors! The man pictured below had knocked the regular conductor out cold, hid his body in a cabin in the woods, and stolen the uniform. He’d been working this depot all alone for a week, and no one had noticed. We’re getting to the bottom of whatever he was plotting, but we have a feeling it has to do with the town’s underground peacock smuggling ring. (Unrelated to the wedding peacocks, those are owned legally by the people who run the wedding chapel.) Hmmm… I caught up with the group of retired men who play in the local chess club. We rallied for a while to get them a chess board, then the town started an entire club for them. Now, they claim that chess has gone “too commercial” and they’re debating taking up Mahjong instead. Who’s going to tell them that Mahjong is trendy now? Nose goes! Hey guys! Last but not least, there’s a property for sale if you’d like to move to the Tiny Train Town! It’s an old gas station off the rail line. It may give off horror movie murder location vibes, but I promise…it’s just as bare and scary on the inside. Yeah, there’s really no redeeming this one. I think it’s going to be on the market for a while — that poor real estate agent. He just stands outside holding a sign like a guy advertising a car wash. Gotta keep an eye out! That’s a wrap on this visit’s updates, but we’ll keep you in the loop with more shenanigans as they ensue. Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest! See More Tiny Train Town Updates Here! Staying hydrated at Disney World isn’t optional. You’ve gotta stay hydrated! Between the Florida sun beating down on you from the moment you step off the tram and the sheer amount of walking a full park day demands, a good water bottle is genuinely one of the most important things you can pack. We spent time testing six popular options in 90-degree heat to find out which ones actually hold up and which ones might leave you with lukewarm water by lunchtime. Here’s the breakdown. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The One That Checked Every Box We Didn’t Know We Had Stanley IceFlow The thing about planning a Disney park bag is that you don’t always know what’s going to bother you until it does. A lid you can’t clean properly, a handle that sticks out awkwardly, a bottle that’s either too big to carry or too small to last the day. The Stanley IceFlow Flip Straw 2.0 Bottle (24 oz) somehow solves all of those problems at once, and it’s the one that came out on top after testing. The lid and sipper It’s slimmer than the YETI but substantial enough to actually keep your water cold. The handle folds flat on both sides so it doesn’t dig into your bag, and the lid completely disassembles for real cleaning. (That last feature is harder to find than you’d think, especially if you’ve ever tried to scrub out the narrow drinking spout on an Owala.) It kept ice for hours even in direct sun, and the size is that sweet spot where you’re not running back to a refill station every hour. This one’s worth every penny, and it sits right in the middle price-wise between the Hydro Flask and the YETI. view ON amazon The One That’s Almost Impossible to Fault Owala Rapunzel Water Bottle Park bags are stressful. You’re packing for every scenario, and the last thing you want is a bottle that leaks when it’s jostling around in your bag or sloshing against your back on a ride. That’s where the Owala Disney Princess FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle earns its spot. The inside! It’s got a push-to-open lid with a second locking layer so it’s truly spill-proof, and it doesn’t sweat on the outside even on the hottest days. The FreeSip design lets you drink two different ways: sip upright through the straw or tilt it back to drink from the wide-mouth opening, which is genuinely useful depending on what you’re doing. It kept ice cold for several hours and held up perfectly after being dropped more than once. It’s slim, easy to clean, and comes in multiple Disney Princess colorways that look great without being over the top. The only real reason this one didn’t take the top spot is that the Stanley’s lid situation is just that good. view ON amazon The One That Takes No Shortcuts Our Yeti! There’s a certain kind of park guest who wants the best insulation available, full stop, and is willing to carry a slightly heavier bottle to get it. If that’s you, the YETI Rambler 26 oz Water Bottle is the pick. It’s pretty bulky It’s bulkier than the Stanley or the Hydro Flask, and the handle is fixed rather than folding flat, which might bother people who care about a clean, streamlined look. But the vacuum insulation is noticeably stronger. The bulk actually helps keep the water colder when the bottle’s sitting in the sun outside your bag rather than tucked inside it. It also comes with a spare straw (useful for swapping between cleans) and includes a registered warranty, which is a nice touch at this price point. If you’re planning to ride a lot of rides where drinks need to stay lidded, this one handles that without question. view ON amazon The One That Gets Out of Its Own Way The Hydro Flask! There’s a lot to be said for a bottle that’s just easy. No overthinking the opening, no fumbling with the lid when you’re mid-walk, no worrying about whether it fits in the cup holder of your rental car. The Hydro Flask 24 oz Wide Mouth Bottle with Flex Straw Cap does the basics really well. The top flipped open It’s slim enough to fit almost any bag pocket or cup holder and holds cold water for over six hours in 90-plus degree heat, even sitting on the outside of a bag in direct sun, which is a solid result. The lid is the easiest of anything tested here to open and close with one hand. The one honest critique is that the straw design makes it harder to sip at an angle, so you’ll want your face directly above it to get a full drink rather than tilting back naturally. Not a dealbreaker, but it’s worth knowing before you buy. You’re paying a bit for the name recognition with this one, but the performance is real. view ON amazon The One for the Matching-Set Person (You Know Who You Are) Stanley Vitalize Shaker Bottle If you’ve ever looked at the Stanley Vitalize Backpack and thought, “I need the matching water bottle to go with that,” the Stanley Vitalize Shaker Bottle 20 oz exists, and it looks exactly how you’d hope. The color and build quality are peak Stanley, and it fits perfectly in the backpack’s cupholder pocket. The bottle and backpack! That said, as a Disney park water bottle, this one doesn’t compete with the others on this list. It’s designed for protein shakes and electrolyte powders, not for all-day hydration. The rounded interior and removable strainer take up space that should be holding water, the opening is wider than ideal, and it had only kept things cold for about two to three hours before the temperature started climbing. By hour five, it was room temperature. If you use a shaker bottle regularly and just want something that matches your bag, it’s a fun pickup. But if you’re debating between this and any other bottle on this list for actual park use, go with one of the others. view ON amazon The Subtle Disney Flex That Hides How Much Water It Holds Not everyone wants a Stanley or a YETI. Sometimes you just want something that brings a little Disney magic into your park bag without being over the top. The Simple Modern Disney Mickey Mouse Summit Water Bottle with Straw Lid does that really well, and it holds more water than it looks like from the outside. The Simple Modern! It comes with an extra silicone straw tube, the flip-top works cleanly, and it does a decent job keeping water cold. Where it slots below the top performers is in how it handles extended exposure to heat. Around the four-hour mark in upper-80-degree weather, there was a noticeable temperature change in the water. You might find yourself dumping it out in favor of colder water from a refill station sooner than you would with the Stanley or YETI. It’s still a solid pick and a totally worthwhile buy, especially at its price point. Just go in knowing it’s built more for style and value than for maximum insulation. view ON amazon A good water bottle makes a real difference over the course of a full Disney day, and the right one depends entirely on what matters most to you: insulation performance, lid design, Disney theming, or just how it fits in your bag. Any of the top picks on this list will serve you well. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

We love Vivoli il Gelato for their housemade gelato with fun flavor combos. We recently loved their new Golden Oreo Tiramisu, so when we saw they had another new menu item, we had to try it! Guinness Gelato This Guinness Gelato was a limited-time offering, but you can look for it on your next visit! This Guinness Gelato is $7.25. It’s vanilla or chocolate gelato with Guinness beer. We opted for the chocolate version! You can get this at both Vivoli il Gelato locations, their brick-and-mortar storefront, or their gelato cart at Disney Springs. Guinness Gelato The first bite was a little shocking because it’s very alcohol-forward. It has a strong beer aftertaste, which was very on-brand for St. Patrick’s Day, but it wasn’t what we were expecting. But once you get a few bites in, it mellows out a bit! The chocolate gelato was so yummy – it was smooth and creamy with a great chocolate flavor! We would’ve loved this if the gelato were more prominent. Guinness Gelato We’d recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, little taste of alcohol without committing to a full drink. This would be great on a hot Florida day! You can find it seasonally at Vivoli il Gelato at Disney Springs. Guinness Gelato We loved trying all of the new seasonal items at Disney Springs. Stay tuned to All Ears for more Disney food reviews! We’ve been raving about this Magic Kingdom snack for YEARS, and it’s still going as strong as ever! Waffle from Sleepy Hollow! There are TONS of iconic snacks around Magic Kingdom. From savory options like the rotating flavors at the Spring Roll Wagon to sweet treats like the giant cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern, we could literally spend our entire day just eating our way through the park (and we often do exactly that)! And, as experienced Disney World snackers, we feel it’s our duty to check in and make sure you aren’t missing out on one of our all-time favorite eats in Magic Kingdom! Tucked into a quaint corner of Liberty Square is the small-but-mighty quick service restaurant, Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. It can be easy to miss since it’s a bit nestled away, and people passing by are often making a beeline to get to a nearby attraction like Haunted Mansion or Cinderella Castle. But trust us, if you skip this spot, you are seriously missing out! Sleepy Hollow Refreshments The menu here is typically centered around waffles and funnel cakes with various toppings, with a few other items rotating through as well. But we’re here to talk about one specific waffle that has held a special place in our heart (and stomach) for years — the Waffle with Fruit & Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread. Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream Everything about this treat is a winner from literally top to bottom! The waffle has a thin, crispy edge that gives way to a soft bite in the center. Even though it’s more delicate than the denser Mickey Waffles you’ll find elsewhere around the parks, this waffle is still seriously filling. Which is great because it makes this a shareable snack! The Waffle is Delicate, But Still Filling! It’s topped with a chocolate-hazelnut spread (think Nutella), bananas, berries, and whipped cream. We typically get a pretty generous portion of fruit with it, which is perfect for balancing out the other rich, sweet flavors. Our only nitpick is that sometimes we’d prefer a bit more chocolate-hazelnut spread than what we end up with, but we’ve always been able to make it work by spreading it out as needed! SO Good! This snack hits all the big wins for us — it’s a perfect mix of flavors, filling enough to either share or have as a full meal, and a great deal at under $10! Oh yeah, and to top it all off, it’s also eligible as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan! With all those major pros going for it, is it any surprise that the Waffle with Fruit & Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread has earned a spot on our must-try snack list for years? Sleepy Hollow Menu If you’re a big fan of the menu at Sleepy Hollow like us, another spot to add to your snack tour on your next trip to Disney World is the Funnel Cake Stand in EPCOT. Much like Sleepy Hollow, it’s a smaller spot that sometimes doesn’t get its flowers compared to the TONS of other heavy hitters in the park. But, also like Sleepy Hollow, they’ve got some seriously incredible topped funnel cakes, which regularly rotate out for the different EPCOT festivals and seasons. If you’re already a Sleepy Hollow convert, swing by the Funnel Cake Stand the next time you’re in EPCOT to try the latest flavor they’ve got on deck! Bananas Foster Funnel Cake We’re always on the lookout for the best snacks in Disney World, which includes both trying brand new additions and retesting old favorites, so be sure to check out our DFB Guides for the alllll of the info you need to get the most out of your Disney World dining experiences! The post-trip slump is real, and anyone who has come home from Disney World knows that feeling of walking through your front door and immediately missing the magic. ©Amazon The good news is that you don’t have to wait for your next trip to surround yourself with a little Disney charm. There are some genuinely great finds on Amazon right now that let you carry that park energy into your everyday life without spending a fortune, and we rounded up seven of our favorites right here. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Your Entryway Has Been Crying Out for This ©Amazon Nobody wants to stand at the front door rummaging through a bag for their keys, especially after a long day. A little organization goes a long way, and it is even better when it doubles as decor. The AIRPOP Mouse Wooden Mail Organizer is a wall-mounted key holder and shelf shaped like Mickey’s iconic silhouette, crafted from solid pine wood with sturdy metal hooks. It holds keys, mail, sunglasses, leashes, and more, and it looks genuinely cute doing it. It is one of those things that makes a great housewarming gift, too, if you know a Disney-loving friend who just moved. view ON amazon The Night Light That Actually Sparks Joy ©Amazon Overhead lighting is harsh, and sometimes you just want something soft and fun for a cozy evening at home. The Disney Mickey Mouse Color-Changing Squishy Light is a silicone Mickey-shaped lamp that cycles through 13 LED colors, including a dimmable white. You tap it to switch modes, and it runs on either USB-C or three AAA batteries, so it works on a nightstand, a shelf, or basically anywhere you want a mood boost. It is one of those small items that makes a room feel a little more magical without being over the top. view ON amazon The Pin Collector in Your Life Will Lose Their Mind ©Amazon If you have been collecting Disney pins and they are still sitting in a bag or a drawer somewhere, that is a problem worth solving. The BENECREAT Castle Pin Board is a lightweight cork board shaped like a castle that lets you display pins, brooches, earrings, postcards, and more. It hangs on the wall with a rope or sits on a desktop, and it turns your collection into actual wall art. Honestly, it is the kind of display piece that sparks conversations. view ON amazon Your Kitchen Counter Deserves Some Whimsy ©Amazon Not everything has to be a souvenir from the parks to feel like a Disney moment. The Silver Buffalo Alice in Wonderland Glass Cookie Jar features hand-painted flowers and mushrooms pulled straight from Wonderland, and it looks like something you would actually want sitting on a shelf. It is made from high-quality glass, the lid keeps contents fresh, and it works just as well for candy as it does for spices or little trinkets. It is a subtle, stylish nod to a Disney classic that doesn’t scream “gift shop.” view ON amazon A Piece of Park History ©Amazon Fans of design and architecture will appreciate this one. These Classic Castle Patent Prints are inspired by the original design patent artwork for Cinderella Castle, and they look like something out of a well-curated gallery wall. They are the kind of art that Disney fans will immediately recognize and admire while blending naturally into any home. view ON amazon A Fairytale Detail That Costs Almost Nothing ©Amazon Sometimes one small decorative piece transforms a whole shelf or tabletop. The SHOWLOUE Cinderella Glass Slipper is a clear glass replica of the iconic shoe, complete with a bow detail and a smooth finish. At just over five inches, it sits perfectly on a nightstand, mantle, or party table, and it doubles as a candy holder or cake topper if you want to get creative with it. view ON amazon The Wall Art That Nails the Vibe ©Amazon Soft, dreamy, and unmistakably Disney, this Pastel Castle Painting is an 8×12-inch print of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, rendered in muted pastel tones. It would fit perfectly in a nursery, a home office, or anywhere you want a quiet reminder of the parks without being loud about it. It’s the kind of piece that feels personal rather than mass-produced. view ON amazon You don’t have to be in the parks to feel connected to the magic. Whether you are decorating a new space, hunting for a gift, or just treating yourself after a long week, these finds prove that a little Disney at home goes a long way. Okay, so when you go to Disney World as much as we do, you’re bound to have some regrets. And let me tell you, we have a LOT of regrets. Daisy and Donald We’ve had trips where we’ve had to learn things the hard way (for example, we’ve learned what shoes NOT to wear to Disney World). We’ve had instances where we didn’t make those dining reservations we really wanted and missed out on eating at certain restaurants. However, one of our biggest regrets revolves around “wet stuff.” Let’s talk about it. Okay, it’s inevitable. EVERYONE knows that Florida weather is MOODY, and sudden rainstorms happen ALL the time, and your odds of getting caught in one are 99.9%. It’s okay, it happens ALL the time. Rainy day in Disney World But…here’s the thing. Long after the rainstorm, it stays with you because everything is now soaked, including your socks, shoes, pants, undergarments, park bag…EVERYTHING. And there is nothing fun about walking around in wet clothes with a wet bag for the rest of the day. It’s downright awful. Rainy day in Animal Kingdom So if you don’t want to walk around in drenched clothes all day, you might want to pack an extra pair of clothes, just in case. Even if you’re wearing t-shirts and quick-dry shorts, you’re still going to have to deal with wet socks, so at least stash a pair of dry socks away in your day bag. Stash some dry socks in your day bag Now, a lot of the DFB team swear by sturdy sandals during the summer, like Chacos or Tevas. Then you don’t have to worry about the wet sock situation that will literally ruin your day. But if sandals are just not your thing, pack those extra socks in some Ziploc bags so they stay dry even if your bag gets wet. Then you can store the wet socks in the Ziploc bag so they won’t get stuff in your bag wet! Disney World musts includes plastic storage bags Speaking of Ziploc bags, just bring extras. We keep at least three or four in our park bag at ALL times. First, they’re great for storing your phones and tablets in if a rainstorm suddenly hits. But also…well…you can also put leftover snacks in them (or snacks you buy now, but plan on eating later). Ziploc bags are something you don’t know you need, but trust us, YOU DO. Plastic Bags However, you might just want to invest in a waterproof day bag before your trip. Or at least spray down your bag with a waterproofing spray. So don’t be a victim of “wet stuff,” like we’ve been. All it takes is a little foresight and preparation. We’ll also keep you updated with our best tips and tricks for visiting Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 Things I Regret Impulse Buying in Magic Kingdom Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If you’ve followed us for a while, then you’ll know that we’re huge fans of The Polite Pig at Disney Springs. It’s a quick-service barbecue restaurant with such high-quality meats that it’s earned a Michelin Guide Recommended nod. Limited-time Creamed Corn So when we saw that they had a new limited-time menu item just for this month, we had to stop by and try it. Did we get weird looks for exclusively ordering a side of creamed corn and nothing else? Yes. But are we embarrassed? Never! The Creamed Corn is $6 at The Polite Pig. It’s sweet creamed, roasted corn with salty bacon bits. This is only available until the end of April at Disney Springs. Creamed Corn The corn itself is very unique. It’s roasted on the grill, and not only can you see the char marks, but it also has a strong smoky flavor. It’s well-balanced by the creamy, tangy sauce. We loved the bacon in this – while it’s described as bacon bits, they’re more chunky, and we loved the crunchy texture they added. The bacon was extra salty, so combined with the heavy seasoning of the corn, this was very flavorful. Creamed Corn We’d recommend this to anyone who likes creamed corn or barbecue. It had a very smoky, barbecue-forward flavor that would pair well with most of The Polite Pig’s meat options. We love their Butcher’s Board with a variety of their barbecue meats, and we’re trying them together on our next visit! Creamed Corn We loved trying this new limited-time side at The Polite Pig. Some HUGE changes are coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, and it’s going to change your entire experience in that part of the park. Millennium Falcon The timeline for Batuu is shifting to include ALL timelines in the Star Wars universe, including the timeline in the original trilogy of movies. That means you’ll soon be able to see characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Darth Vader in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Princess Leia will also be coming to the land, too, and now we have a first look at her! We previously got a first look at Han Solo, who will also be hanging around the Millennium Falcon. Other characters include Luke Skywalker, who will be roaming Batuu, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader, who will be walking around the outpost with Stormtroopers to hunt down any remaining Jedi. Chewbacca in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge These changes will be coming to Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on April 29th, so if you’re interested in seeing these characters, mark your calendars! Also, remember that the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride will also be changing on May 22nd with a new mission and new scenes, plus a new role for the Engineer! Disney World can be expensive, so nothing is worse than regretting an impulse purchase you made. Magic Kingdom Our DFB team members are in the parks every day, and with that experience comes a lot of lessons learned. Our team is sharing some stories of the times they made an impulse purchase they later found themselves regretting, so learn from our mistakes — don’t do this on your trip to Magic Kingdom! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Dreaded Park Poncho First up on the list may surprise you, but we’ve had MANY members of our team regret buying a Poncho from the parks, both when it did end up raining and when it didn’t. Here’s the thing: Disney World ponchos aren’t known for their great quality. Will they get the job done? Sure, in a way, but they’re also very likely to rip and tear, and then you just spent all this money on something you can’t reuse. Not to mention that many people feel suffocated in them on hot, humid days in the parks (which, let’s be honest, is a large part of the year). Instead, we recommend buying a poncho online or at a store back home before your trip! Rain at Magic Kingdom Get our favorite poncho on Amazon! Frogg Toggs Poncho Our favorite ponchos to take to the parks are the FROGG TOGG ponchos. They have a little bag that will carry your wet poncho, and they are super good quality. On top of that, they are way cheaper than the ones in the parks! view ON AMAZON Balloons That Beat You Up Second, we have something that many people love, but when you think about it, they’re just not practical — BALLOONS! Balloons can be found in 3 out of 4 of the Disney World parks, plus Disney Springs, but you’ll never find them in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as they can be a danger to the animals’ health. Main Street USA These are adorable, especially with all their different designs, but if you’re trying to carry them around all day, you soon realize how annoying they are. If you don’t have anything to tie it to, like a stroller, you’re going to have nowhere to put it on rides, and that’s just a disaster. If you do have a stroller and tie it to it, your balloon will, in fact, hit you or someone else while you’re walking (obviously, I’m salty from my own experience). If you’re going to grab one, we recommend buying it at the end of the day and then keeping it in your hotel room for the duration of your trip. If you do buy a balloon, just know that you can ask for it to be deflated at the Disney Store at MCO so you can take it home with you! Then you can get it inflated again once you are home. Balloons The $4 Bottled Water This goes for all Disney World parks, but buying a bottle of water is something we’ve only done a handful of times and regret it no matter what. Staying hydrated is extremely important, but there are also FREE cups of water you can get at each quick service location, and that’s what we recommend using to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Bottled Beverages Bring a reusable water bottle from home, and boom, you’re golden! Some of this water can taste a bit yucky, so we like to use the water bottle refill stations located around the parks. We have found that the water from those locations tends to taste a bit better. Water Bottle Refill Station By TRON A Churro Listen, I know that eating a churro on the Hub grass and staring at Cinderella’s Castle sounds magical, but you take one bite of that thing, and you’ll understand this regret. For some reason, the Disney World churros are not nearly as good as the ones in Disneyland, so don’t make the mistake of grabbing this snack thinking it’s iconic. Churro Snack Cart There are SO MANY other snack choices that we recommend over this (the Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern, we’re looking at you!). You can grab our DFB Magic Kingdom Snacks Guide for a full list of our favorite snacks here. These days, there’s construction going on all OVER Disney World. Wilderness Lodge in Disney World There are projects underway in all four parks to add new lands (like Villains Land and Tropical Americas), update attractions (like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster), and just conduct general maintenance. But we can’t forget about construction at the resorts! Recently, a new permit was filed for construction at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The permit filed is an amendment to a notice of commencement. The permit was filed by Disney Vacation Club and has an address listed at the Wilderness Lodge. Under the description of work, the permit says “general construction.” Wilderness Lodge Hotel The address listed is just the main address for the resort, so it’s not specific enough to know if this construction will be on the exterior of the building or inside at one of the hotel’s offerings. The work will be done by Aim Strategic Group, LLC. According to IAAPA, “Aim Construction is a new commercial construction company that focuses on small-scale jobs with corporations and construction managers who want to empower women in the industry.” Wilderness Lodge Lobby We’ll be keeping an eye out at this hotel to see if there are any construction changes in the coming months, and we’ll let you know what happens. We do know that the boat dock at this hotel will be closed, with boat transportation suspended from April 13th through May 1st. That project will include general maintenance. Boat dock construction at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge The hotel just completed a major refurbishment project last year, and we’ve finally seen the space unobstructed by scaffolding and construction equipment. It’s an absolutely stunning resort, so it’s refreshing to have unimpeded views as you walk the scenic pathways. Some hotel rooms are really just glorified suitcase parking spots. You drop your bags, charge your phone, maybe do a little panicked outlet math, and pass out. Hotel Orchid Singapore is not really giving that energy. Hotel Orchid Singapore This hotel, tucked into Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar neighborhood, sits in a very convenient part of the city with Tanjong Pagar, Chinatown, Maxwell, and Shenton Way MRT stations all nearby. In other words, it’s in a part of town that makes you feel a little more organized and worldly than you actually are, which is always a nice bonus on vacation. Our stay here wasn’t so much a dramatic “best hotel ever!!!” situation as it was a pleasantly solid, deeply practical, very comfortable “yes, I would be happy to come back to this room after a long day” kind of stay. And honestly? That matters. A lot. Especially in a city where you may spend most of the day out exploring and just want your hotel room to feel clean, roomy, and easy to exist in when you return. Hotel Orchid Singapore Location That Makes Life Easier One of the first things Hotel Orchid has going for it is location. Tanjong Pagar is a useful home base if you want a downtown stay that doesn’t feel stranded from the rest of Singapore. It has nearby MRT access, and is also accessible to area landmarks like Maxwell Food Centre, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and Sri Mariamman Temple. So if you want to build a stay around easy transit plus lots of nearby food and city wandering, this is a pretty smart spot to plant yourself. Hotel Orchid Singapore That convenience matters because a hotel can have all the fluffy towels in the world, but if getting anywhere feels like a side quest designed by a chaos goblin, the magic fades quickly. Hotel Orchid avoids that problem nicely. But if you’re looking to book a stay here for the easy access to the cruise port, this is not your spot. It’s actually quite a ways from the port. Let’s Talk About the Room The big headline from our room was simple: it was spacious. Like, genuinely spacious. Not “the website said spacious and then we laughed in person” spacious. Actually spacious. Hotel Orchid Singapore It’s about 344 square feet, and includes a writing desk, mini fridge, coffee and tea setup, bathrobes, slippers, Smart TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a spacious bathroom with a separate bath and walk-in shower. There are also floor-to-ceiling bay windows and a seating area, which helps explain why these rooms feel less cramped than many city hotel rooms tend to. Hotel Orchid Singapore In real life, that translated to a room that felt easy to live in for a few days. We had enough space to spread out, enough room to move around without doing awkward suitcase sidesteps, and enough breathing room that the whole stay felt calmer. It was also very clean, which is one of those hotel qualities that should be standard but still deserves applause when it’s done well. The Beds: Firm, but Not Shockingly So Now, let’s have a quick little honesty moment about the beds. They were a bit firm. Our bed But before anyone gasps into a decorative pillow, that’s not exactly unusual for this part of the world. If you’ve traveled in Asia before, you probably already know the bed situation can lean firmer than what some American travelers are used to. So yes, we noticed it, but it didn’t feel wildly out of step with regional norms. The hotel lists Serta mattresses in its rooms, so this isn’t a case of sleeping directly on a sheet of plywood disguised as hospitality. It just leans toward the firmer side of the spectrum. Hotel Orchid Singapore For some travelers, that’ll be totally fine. For others, it may be one of those “good to know before you flop” details. A Bathroom With Actual Elbow Room Can we all agree that a spacious hotel bathroom is one of travel’s most underrated luxuries? Not glamorous enough to be the lead in a movie, but absolutely the backbone of the operation. Hotel Orchid Singapore Hotel Orchid’s spacious bathrooms are equipped with a separate bath and a walk-in shower in its Deluxe and Executive rooms. The bathroom felt roomy, functional, and easy to use without constantly knocking into something or balancing toiletries like you’re playing a tiny porcelain game of Tetris. Essential kits This was another area where the hotel just felt practical in the best way. It wasn’t trying to reinvent the hotel bathroom. It just gave us enough space, a clean setup, and the kind of layout that makes getting ready in the morning less annoying. Sometimes that’s all a traveler really wants. The Little Extras We Appreciated Some hotel amenities live in the category of “fine, technically useful.” Others whisper directly to your tired soul. For us, the robes and slippers were very much in the second category. Hotel Orchid Singapore Hotel Orchid includes bathrobes and slippers in its room amenities, along with toiletries, hairdryer, ironing facilities, coffee and tea-making amenities, and universal sockets in the rooms. That last one is particularly handy when you are traveling internationally and would prefer not to turn “charging my phone” into a dramatic electrical event. Hotel Orchid Singapore And yes, we loved the robes and slippers. There is just something about putting on a hotel robe that instantly convinces your brain you have become a calmer, more successful person. Breakfast Was a Real Perk Here The hotel also offers a breakfast buffet daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The breakfast spread includes Western and Asian dishes, plus bread, pastries, salad, fruit, yogurt, and made-to-order eggs, along with juices, tea, and coffee. And from our experience, this was not a sad little continental lineup with one bruised apple and a tray of eggs having a bad morning. Coffee Time There was a wide variety, which we appreciated, especially when everyone in your group wants something slightly different. It also had coffee machines where you could make lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso-adjacent beverages, which made breakfast feel a little more civilized and a little less like survival mode. For a hotel breakfast, it felt substantial and genuinely useful, not just included for the sake of being able to put “breakfast available” on a website. Helpful Staff Can Make or Break a Stay One of the best things we can say about Hotel Orchid is that the staff was super helpful and accommodating. Hotel Orchid Singapore That kind of thing can be hard to quantify in bullet points, but it absolutely shapes how a hotel feels. You can have a pretty room and a convenient address, but if the people side of the experience is cold or frustrating, the whole stay loses some shine. We didn’t have that issue here. The service helped the hotel feel welcoming instead of transactional, and that goes a long way when you’re far from home. A Few Useful Details to Know If you’re planning a stay here, a few practical notes are worth keeping in your back pocket. Hotel Orchid has check-in at 2 PM and check-out at 12 PM, with early check-in and late check-out subject to availability. The hotel also offers complimentary luggage storage, which is especially nice if your flight timing is rude and inconvenient, as flights often are. There’s also a 50-meter outdoor swimming pool and a gym, both operating daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. Hotel Orchid Singapore Those aren’t flashy details, but they’re the kind of details that travelers actually care about once the trip stops being theoretical and becomes very real and very full of bags. Final Thoughts Hotel Orchid Singapore may not be the sort of hotel that arrives with a lot of theatrical fanfare, but it does something just as valuable: it makes staying there easy. Hotel Orchid Singapore The room was clean and impressively spacious. The bathroom had room to breathe. The robes and slippers were a lovely little quality-of-life win. The breakfast buffet had enough variety to feel worthwhile, and the coffee machines were a beautiful act of mercy. The beds were firm, yes, but not unexpectedly so for the region. And the staff was genuinely helpful, which helped tie the whole stay together. Hotel Orchid Singapore If you’re looking for a Singapore hotel that feels comfortable, practical, and well-located without making you feel like you’re paying extra for smoke and mirrors, Hotel Orchid is worth a look. It’s not trying to be a grand opera. It’s just quietly competent in all the ways that matter, and sometimes that’s exactly the hotel you want. Disney World has seen lots of closures lately, which is why we love a good reopening! If you’re not sure what to do at Disney World this summer, an underrated spot is reopening in May. Typhoon Lagoon We love the Disney World water parks because we can get Disney magic while beating the heat without planning a full theme park day. Typhoon Lagoon, which abruptly closed in February, is finally reopening on May 12th! It’s themed to be a tropical paradise that just survived a typhoon. Typhoon Lagoon will finally reopen on May 12th! Typhoon Lagoon If you’re staying in a Disney World resort this summer, you can’t miss out on Typhoon Lagoon. Disney is running a promotion where Disney resort guests will receive a free water park ticket for their arrival day from May 26th to September 8th.
