This is the Magic Kingdom treat that quietly steals the spotlight. Cold Brew Float While everyone rushes for the newest snacks, this under-the-radar float is delivering one of the most satisfying pick-me-ups in the park right now. If you’re juggling long park days, heat, and early mornings, this is exactly the kind of snack that pulls double duty. Here’s why Auntie Gravity’s Cold Brew Float deserves a spot on your must-try list. Coffee and Ice Cream Done Right Let’s start with the obvious win here. This float combines Joffrey’s Cold Brew coffee with soft-serve ice cream, and somehow it just works perfectly. The Salted Caramel version is the standout, blending bold coffee flavor with a sweet and slightly salty finish that feels balanced instead of overwhelming. Cold Brew Float What makes it even better is the customization factor. If salted caramel isn’t your thing, you can swap in classic vanilla or chocolate soft serve. That flexibility makes this a safe pick for just about any coffee fan, whether you like your drinks rich and dessert-like or a little more traditional. The Perfect Midday Reset Magic Kingdom days can be long, especially when the Florida heat starts to hit hard in the afternoon. This float is one of the best ways to cool down while also getting a caffeine boost. It’s refreshing, energizing, and filling enough to hold you over until your next meal. Cold Brew Float Timing matters here. Grabbing one before hopping in line for nearby rides like Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a smart move. You’ll stay cool and caffeinated while waiting, which can make a big difference during peak crowd times. A Hidden Gem in Tomorrowland Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies doesn’t always get the same attention as other snack spots in Magic Kingdom, but that’s part of the appeal. Lines are often shorter, and the menu has some surprisingly fun options beyond the usual park staples. Lump of Coal in Your Stocking The Cold Brew Float feels like one of those insider picks that we come back for again and again. It’s quick to grab, easy to enjoy on the go, and located right in the middle of Tomorrowland, making it a convenient stop during a busy park loop. If You Love This, Try These Next If this float hits the spot, there are a few other Disney treats you’ll probably want to check out. The Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew is one of our favorites for a stronger, more classic coffee flavor without the ice cream. It’s a great alternative when you want something a little lighter. Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew For another dessert-style coffee float, you’ll want to keep an eye out for other seasonal cold brew floats that pop up throughout the year. Disney has really been leaning into creative coffee offerings lately, and this float feels like part of that trend in the best way. Happy “Root Beer” Float Worth It for the Price and Portion Disney snacks can be hit or miss when it comes to value, but this one lands on the right side. You’re getting both a drink and a dessert in one cup, which makes it feel more substantial than your average snack. Cold Brew Float It’s also easy to share if you’re not looking for a full treat on your own. That said, once you try it, you might not want to split it. The Bottom Line Auntie Gravity’s Cold Brew Float feels like one of those rare Disney snacks that checks every box. It’s refreshing, customizable, and genuinely delicious, with just enough caffeine to keep you going through a full park day. If you’re a coffee fan visiting Magic Kingdom, skipping this would be a mistake. Until then, be sure to stay tuned with us for even more right here at DFB. When you’re soaking up the magic at Disney Parks, there’s a good chance the sunshine is working some magic of its own. From thrilling attractions to Disney Resort hotels, solar energy plays a bigger role than you might think. In the spirit of Earth Month and Disney Planet Possible, we’re taking a closer look at how renewable energy is helping power the magic at Disney Parks around the world. Powering the Magic at Disney Parks and Beyond Walt Disney World Disneyland Resort Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Shanghai Disney Resort Tokyo Disney Resort Disneyland Paris Disney Cruise Line Walt Disney World At Walt Disney World in Florida, on a sunny day in spring or summer, together four solar projects now can produce up to 100% of the daytime power needs of the entire resort – spread across four theme parks, two water parks, dozens of hotels, and more. The newest solar facility, a 74,500-kilowatt, 484-acre site in Levy County, Florida, is now supplying clean electricity to Walt Disney World. Built and operated by Bronson Solar in collaboration with Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, this site helps diversify energy sources across multiple locations, so the magic doesn’t rely on sunshine from just one place. This new facility joins Walt Disney World’s fan-favorite “Hidden Mickey” solar array, a 5,000-kilowatt installation shaped like Mickey Mouse near EPCOT, along with other large solar projects across Florida. Together, these installations show how Disney has steadily grown its use of solar energy over time, turning Florida sunshine into clean power that supports resort operations every day. Solar Energy Adds Up to Some Pretty Magical Numbers So, what does all that solar energy really mean at Walt Disney World? Let’s break it down: Here’s what that approximate level of solar energy adds up to over the course of an average year: Reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions by more than 140,000 metric tons Removing nearly 33,000 gasoline-powered cars from the road each year Powering 19,000 homes’ energy use for one year Charging 15 billion smartphones Growing 2 million tree seedlings for 10 years Recycling the equivalent of 7,000 garbage trucks of waste instead of landfilling Powering the monorail for 34 years Equivalencies calculated using the U.S. EPA greenhouse gas equivalencies calculator. Disneyland Resort At Disneyland Resort, renewable energy and electrification initiatives are helping reduce operational emissions across the resort. Circle D Ranch, home to the resort’s horses and the first zero waste certified facility at The Walt Disney Company, is now powered by renewable electricity thanks to a new onsite solar and battery storage system. The resort is also expanding clean transportation infrastructure with a new EV charging depot featuring 20 Level 2 chargers and a DC fast charger to support the transition to zeroemission vehicles. Today, one in six operational fleet vehicles at Disneyland Resort is electric, helping avoid approximately 50,000 gallons of gasoline each year. In addition, through participation in the Anaheim Public Utilities Green Power Program, the resort now sources 60% of its electricity from renewable energy resources. And over at Disney California Adventure, Radiator Springs Racers is powered by 1,400 solar panels, bringing clean energy to a fan-favorite attraction. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Hong Kong Disneyland Resort recently completed phase two of Hong Kong’s first and largest solar car park canopy, located in a backstage cast member parking area. The project spans 80 parking spaces and features nearly 400 bifacial solar panels, a first for the resort. By capturing sunlight from both above and below, these panels increase energy generation by nearly 10%, producing more than 200,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year while providing shaded parking for cast members. Shanghai Disney Resort As of late 2025, all applicable backstage rooftops and facades across Shanghai Disney Resort have installed solar panels. Together, these installations have generated approximately 5.2 GWh of green electricity, which is equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by more than 2,500 metric tons — supporting more sustainable day-to-day operations. Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo Disney Resort has installed solar panels at 10 rooftop locations, with total capacity exceeding 1,500 kW, and will continue to expand its solar power generation through planned annual installations. Disneyland Paris In 2024, Disneyland Paris reached a major milestone with the completion of Europe’s largest solar canopy plant. Built through a multiyear collaboration with Urbasolar Group, the solar canopies now cover more than 11,200 guest parking spaces and feature over 80,000 panels across 20 hectares. Since becoming fully operational in December 2023, the plant produces 36 GWh of electricity each year — equivalent to the energy use of a town of more than 17,400 people — while helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Val d’Europe region by approximately 890 metric tons of CO₂ annually. Disney Cruise Line – Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Disney Cruise Line has long been committed to protecting the natural beauty of The Bahamas, including prioritizing reducing emissions at its island destinations. On-site solar panel arrays at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point help generate power for these destinations. From all of us here at Disney, thanks for being part of a future powered by imagination, innovation, and a little extra sunshine. There are Disney World splurges that feel glamorous in theory and then mostly just leave your wallet lying face-down in the street. And then there are Disney World splurges that actually make your vacation easier, calmer, and dramatically less sticky. ©Disney Enter: the poolside cabanas at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Yes, a cabana is absolutely an “extra.” It is shade. It is lounging. It is saying, “I would like my pool day to have a headquarters, a fan, cold drinks, and fewer chaotic towel-based life decisions.” But at the Swan and Dolphin, this is not just a random luxury add-on. It is one of those sneaky upgrades that can make a resort day feel like a real vacation instead of a sweaty intermission between park marathons. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin And if you’re already staying at the Swan or Dolphin? This might be the one splurge that makes you feel like you cracked the code. Your Pool Day, But With Main Character Energy The Swan and Dolphin’s private cabanas come with a pretty loaded setup: a personal pool server, HDTV, two large floats, a mini-fridge stocked with soda and bottled water, a personal safe, lemon-infused water, a seasonal fruit bowl, a couch, coffee table, lounge chairs, and a ceiling fan. In other words, this is not just “some chairs with ambition.” It is a full-on poolside base camp. That matters more than it sounds. Cabana Bar Because a normal pool day can get real feral, real fast. Somebody needs sunscreen. Somebody’s phone is overheating. Somebody wants fries. Somebody else wants to “just run back to the room for a second,” which at a large resort is the kind of phrase that can eat 45 minutes alive. A cabana cuts down on that nonsense. You’ve got shade, seating, drinks, snacks, storage, and a place to regroup when the Florida sun starts acting like it has a personal beef with your family. Pool Bar This is especially useful at the Swan and Dolphin because the whole pool area is robust. The resort has a grotto pool with waterfalls and a waterslide, lap pools, a spring pool, a relaxation pool, whirlpools, a kiddie pool, a white-sand beach, and seasonal poolside entertainment. It is a great setup, but it is also the kind of setup where having a home base suddenly sounds very, very smart. Here’s How You Can Earn Hotel Points By Dining At Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resorts! Pick Your Vibe The biggest thing to know is that not all of these cabanas are aiming for the same mood. The Grotto Cabanas are on the Dolphin side, facing the grotto waterfall. This is the more energetic, more “vacation soundtrack playing somewhere in the distance,” more family-action side of the equation. The grotto area is the one with the big tropical-waterfall energy, and the resort also notes weekend DJs poolside at the grotto, weather permitting. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin The Swan Cabanas are on the Swan side, facing the lap pool. Translation: this is the calmer choice. Still pretty. Still poolside. Still excellent for lounging. But with less of that “small child just discovered gravity near the slide” atmosphere. Pool at Swan and Dolphin So if you’re traveling with kids who want to be in the splashy thick of it, the Grotto side makes more sense. If you’re traveling with adults, older kids, or anyone who would like their pool day served with a side of relative peace, the Swan side is the move. Basically, one is “let’s make memories,” and the other is “please let me hear my own thoughts.” This Is the BEST Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort News We’ve Heard All Year Who Should Actually Splurge on This? This is where the cabana starts to make a lot more sense than it might on first glance. If you are already staying at the Swan or Dolphin and planning a full resort day, this is a solid treat-yourself move. These hotels are famous for being a little less expensive than many Disney deluxe resorts while still giving you a location near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, plus access to Disney-resort-style perks. So if you saved a little on the room itself, this can be a very satisfying place to put some of that “look at us being fancy” energy. Mobile Order from your pool chair! If you are a family with kids, the cabana works beautifully as a command center. You’ve got a shaded retreat, stocked drinks, a safe place for valuables, and a clear place for everyone to reconvene before somebody melts down in the most theatrical way possible. The Grotto side is especially appealing here because it keeps you close to the splashier action. Pool at Swan and Dolphin If you are a grown-up traveler who wants a pool day without fighting for chairs or baking like a theme-park rotisserie chicken, this might be one of the best uses of your vacation budget. The Swan-side cabanas, in particular, look tailor-made for adults who want their leisure with a little elbow room and a little dignity intact. Pool Area And if you are the kind of traveler who knows that one afternoon of real rest can save your entire trip? Buddy, this is your moment. DATES Announced for the 2026 Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic The Food-and-Drinks Bonus One of the best parts of this setup is that you are not stranded in some decorative sun box with nothing but vibes. Food and beverages can be ordered from your server from 11AM to 6PM. Guests using the Grotto-side cabanas check in at Cabana Bar, while Swan-side cabanas check in at Splash Bar. Cabana Bar and Beach Club On the Dolphin side, Cabana Bar and Beach Club is open daily for lunch and dinner and serves things like flatbreads, fish tacos, burgers, cocktails, and frozen drinks. On the Swan side, Splash Pool Bar and Grill is the nearby option and serves poolside salads, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks, though it is listed as seasonal. Pool Bar That means your pool day can remain gloriously horizontal. No change of clothes. No hunting down lunch. No wandering around in flip-flops trying to negotiate with a hangry group. Just press the vacation button and let the snacks come to you. Pool Bar A small but important note: the resort says outside food and beverages are not permitted at the pools or on the pool decks. So no, this is not the place for your rogue grocery-store cooler era. What It’s Like to Rent a Cabana at Disney’s Aulani Resort When It’s Worth It, and When It Isn’t A cabana is worth the splurge when you are going to use it like a base, not just glance at it between cannonballs. Book it on a non-park day. Book it on an arrival day when you want to ease into vacation mode. Book it on a rest day between early entry rope drops and your sixth mobile order of the trip. Book it when you know you’ll be at the pool for hours, not 47 minutes. Pool at Swan and Dolphin It is probably not worth it if your family treats pool time like a quick cameo before dinner, or if everybody in your group plans to scatter to different activities all afternoon. This is a splurge for loungers, snackers, nappers, cocktail sippers, slide watchers, and people who understand the spiritual value of a ceiling fan in Central Florida. Pool at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Be aware: advance reservations are required, and the cancellation policy includes a 50% charge if you do not cancel at least 24 hours ahead. If the weather fully shuts down pool operations for your reservation period, that changes the equation, but otherwise, this is not a “we’ll decide later” sort of add-on. The Best Waterproof Phone Cases for Disney World Rain, Water Rides, and Pool Days The Real Luxury Here The real luxury is not the TV. It’s not even the fruit bowl, although we love a fruit bowl pretending to be wellness while we order cocktails. It’s the breathing room. Cabana A cabana at the Swan and Dolphin gives your trip a pause button. It gives your group a place to gather without hovering over random chairs. It gives adults a buffer from the busiest parts of the pool scene and gives families a useful little headquarters in the middle of a very active resort. It turns a basic pool day into an actual experience. Pool atmo And at Disney World, where even fun can start to feel like a competitive sport, that kind of ease is worth a lot. So yes, $375 is a splurge. But if your idea of a better vacation includes shade, snacks, serenity, and not having to defend a lounge chair with your life, this might just be the Disney World upgrade that earns every penny. Today is a BIG day at Disneyland! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland If you hadn’t heard, a soon-to-be Disney legend is getting recognized at Disneyland in one of the biggest ways that you can. We got the awesome opportunity to check it out and watch the unveiling unfold in real time. We covered it all so that we can take you along for the experience! Today is the day that Disney will be unveiling a new window on Main Street, U.S.A., honoring one of Disney Imagineering’s best, Kim Irvine. As you know, receiving a window on Main Street is one of the park’s most meaningful honors, reserved for individuals whose work has helped shape the park and its stories in lasting ways. We’re so excited! The unveiling happened early in the morning, before the park opened. Ms. Irvine’s window is located just above Crystal Arts on Main Street, U.S.A. Keep an eye out for it on your next trip to Disneyland! The ceremony kicked off with Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino, welcoming us to the event. Kim Irvine’s window just above Crystal Arts Iconic Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald then gave a speech about Kim and her tenure as an Imagineer at The Walt Disney Company. Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald! And then, in true Disney fashion, the Dapper Dans were there to welcome Kim to the stage, joined by a VERY special guest — Madade Leota! Keep in mind that this character’s appearance was ONLY for this event, given Kim’s connection to Madame Leota. Any of the character moments from this morning are only shared in the context of the ceremony. Dapper Dans with Madame Leota! Finally, it was time for Kim to take the stage so her window could be unveiled… Imagineer Kim Irvine …and the window is simply GORGEOUS! We love the nods to the Haunted Mansion and Leota Toombs. The window reads, “Summoning the spirits of creativity on windows, doors, and regions beyond!” Kim Irvine’s window on Main Street, U.S.A. After more than five decades with Walt Disney Imagineering, Kim retired in 2025 – very appropriately during the 70th anniversary year of Disneyland Park, her main area of focus, energy, and passion. As Executive Creative Director of the Walt Disney Imagineering Anaheim office, Kim oversaw the concept design, color styling, exterior, and interior design for most Disneyland projects. Imagineer Kim Irvine A Southern California native, this prolific Imagineer grew up with Disney as a living experience in her own home. “I was born and bred Disney”, explains Kim, “It has always been part of my life. Both of my parents were accomplished artists and taught my sister and I [sic] to draw, paint, and sculpt from a very young age. I owe all my artistic talent to them. My father, Harvey Toombs, was one of Walt’s animators, starting in the early 40’s. It was there that he met my mother, Leota, while working together on a project.” Kim’s mother was Imagineer and Disney Legend Leota Toombs, who, among her many accomplishments, left an indelible mark on the classic Haunted Mansion attraction as the face of Madame Leota in the Séance Circle and the face and voice of the “Ghostess” (unofficially known as “Little Leota”) at the attraction’s exit. Madame Leota This year is a big one for Kim Irvine. First, she gets this window on Main Street. Then, in August later this year, Kim Irvine will officially be named a Disney Legend at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, as Disney takes the time to recognize her many contributions to Disneyland Park. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event The D23 Expo is the “Ultimate Disney Fan Experience” that takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center and at Honda Center. This year it will be happening from August 14th to 16th, 2026. It’s the event every hardcore Disney fan needs to experience. Tickets are currently on sale! D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event We’re so happy for Kim Irvine and her getting recognized with this honor! This is very deserved, as she has been a staple for Disney Imagineering and Disney as a whole since she started. For more Disney news and updates, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog. After I left Universal Epic Universe for the first time, I found out that I MISSED some key things! Epic Universe The park is pretty massive, and there are five different themed portals to explore, so it makes sense that it’s a challenge (a near-impossible one) to get everything done in one day. And for many of our team members, we discovered that we’d missed out on some fun experiences at Epic Universe after we’d already left. We’re sharing our list with you so you don’t make the same mistakes! You May Not Need a Power-Up Band to Play When you visit Super Nintendo World, you’ll see Power-Up Bands EVERYWHERE. They’re wristbands that can be used to play the interactive games around the land, and they can even link to the Universal Orlando app to keep track of your scores and achievements. Honestly, they’re a lot of fun! But you may not need one to enjoy all the interactive features. Our band For example, the walk-through tunnel where you run into the Bob-Ombs doesn’t require you to have a Power-Up Band. You can experience being a Mini Mario without it! And if you want to go play the Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown, only ONE person needs a Power-Up Band. You have to complete three missions to go inside, but if your friend has a band and has hit that landmark, then you can join them. Learn More About Super Nintendo World Here! Some Merch Is Portal-Exclusive You may think that you can just save all your shopping for the end of the day and grab that super-cool souvenir you saw at the shops in Celestial Park, but you should know before you leave that some merchandise is portal-exclusive. And unfortunately, once it’s closing time, they shut the entrances to the portals, and you can’t go back into one you visited earlier. The Manor Storehouse Spots where you’re likely to see portal-exclusive merchandise include the gift shops at ride exits or any specialty stores, like sweets shops and places that sell collectibles. If you see something and you really want it, get it RIGHT THEN. And if you don’t want to carry the bags around, you’ve got a few options. At many stores, you can pay to ship your merchandise to your home or your Universal Orlando hotel. You could also rent a locker in the park to hold your bags until the end of the day. Click Here to See One of the Coolest Souvenirs in Epic Universe The Celestial Park Shops Stay Open Late Remember how I just said not to save all your shopping until the end of the day? Well, don’t save all of it, but you can save your Celestial Park shopping until the end of the day. The merchandise stores at the front entrance of Epic Universe in Celestial Park typically stay open an hour after the park closes to let you do some perusing after hours. Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets Here, you’ll find more generic park merchandise, with each portal represented in some way. This is also a great spot to stop for sweets or cliché souvenirs like keychains, t-shirts, plushes, and more. They’ve got all the basics, so if you’re not particular about what you want to buy, shopping at one of these stores should do the trick. See the Epic Universe Collection on Amazon Here! There’s a Hidden Spell in the Wizarding World One of the best parts about visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is doing a bit of magic! We’ve loved wandering the Ministry of Magic and trying out all the new spells in the land, but if you’re following the map, you might miss one. There’s a HIDDEN spell in the window next to Bar Moonshine that most people don’t know about. Included Map for locating interactive Wand spells The window doesn’t have a golden indicator on the ground like the other spell locations do, and it’s not listed on the map, but if you point your wand and cast “Revelio” (that’s with a wand motion shaped like a capital ‘R’), you can make a Demiguise appear! Do this spell for your family and friends, and they’ll think you’re ACTUALLY magical. See Our Food Reviews From the Wizarding World Here! Dark Universe Is Better…After Dark Dark Universe was perhaps the most highly anticipated land in Epic Universe, and it is, in a word, EPIC. The theming really feels like you’re walking through some of the Universal Monster tales, and the experiences offered are eerie to match. But if you’re visiting this land during the daytime, you really need to make a point to come back at night. Dark Universe in Epic Universe There are quite a few special effects in Dark Universe that are just MUCH better after the sun goes down. From lightning to fog to the well glowing red to flashing lights in the manor windows, you’ll uncover so much more of the story once it’s dark outside. Trust us, this is a must-do. A Definitive Ranking of Everything To Do in Dark Universe There Are Exclusive Coca-Cola Beverages! If you’re a fan of Universal’s refillable mug program, buckle up! Refillable Coca-Cola Freestyle mugs are back in Epic Universe, and they’re even BETTER than the other parks because of one thing…exclusive sodas. My ol’ reliable refillable mug! Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe all have exclusive sodas that you can only try in those lands. The three flavors are called Celestial Spritz, Dragon Splash, and Screaming Berry. This was honestly just a super fun surprise, and it was a blast to try them all! Get All the Refillable Mug Details Here! How to Come Back ASAP Of course, the big thing I wanted to know before I’d even left the park was how to come back as soon as possible! Even though I had a great day, I felt like I could’ve spent hours more exploring every nook and cranny of this incredible new space. If you want to visit in 2026, you can purchase single-day tickets to Epic Universe or do a multi-day ticket with a Park-to-Park option added on. Isle of Berk Also, based on a recent survey, it seems that Universal is considering annual pass options for Epic Universe. There were a few different variations presented in the survey, but we’ve got our fingers crossed for that news! Ultimately, I had a spectacular time on my first visit to Epic Universe, and now I know SO much better than I did the first time. Use these tricks and be a pro! Happy National Tea Day! It’s the perfect day to enjoy a warm cup of tea and a freshly baked scone. If you’re looking for a delicious scone recipe – you’re in luck. We’re sharing the Orange-Cranberry Scone recipe from The Garden View Lounge — Tea Experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with you today. The chefs provided both the traditional and plant-based versions of the recipe. I had the pleasure of testing and eating both, and have a few tips to share: Freezing the scones for at least 30 minutes is important for achieving a high rise and flaky texture, so plan ahead for chilling time. Scones can be cut into 2-inch circles. Make sure to press the cookie cutter straight down so that scones rise properly. Use the juice from the zested orange as the liquid in the soaked fruit. Let’s get to the recipe! Orange Cranberry Scone Recipe Orange Cranberry Scone Recipe Makes 12 scones Ingredients Soaked Fruit zest of 1 orange 1/2 cup dried apricot, chopped 1/2 cup dried cranberries 3 tablespoons orange liqueur or orange juice Cranberry-Orange Scones 3 tablespoons heavy cream 3 tablespoons crème fraîche 6 tablespoons sugar 2 cups cake flour 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup butter, at room temperature soaked fruit 1 egg, beaten 2 teaspoons water Instructions Soaked Fruit Combine orange zest, dried apricots, dried cranberries, and orange liqueur in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Cranberry-Orange Scones Whisk heavy cream, crème fraîche, and sugar together in a small bowl and set aside. Sift cake flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda together in the bowl of an electric mixer. Cut room temperature butter into small cubes and add to flour mixture. Mix with paddle attachment on low speed until coarse crumbs form. Add reserved cream mixture and mix on low speed until a rough dough forms and flour is no longer crumbly. Add Soaked Fruit with any remaining liquid and gently mix until dough is soft and starts to pull away from sides of the bowl. Do not overmix. Place dough on a floured cutting board and shape into a 6×8-inch rectangle that is 1-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch squares and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes before preheating oven. Preheat oven to 400°F. Set scones out of freezer while oven is preheating. Combine beaten egg and water in a small bowl. Brush on top of scones. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown. Always use caution when handling sharp objects and hot contents. Please supervise children who are helping or nearby. This recipe has been converted from a larger quantity in the restaurant kitchens. The flavor profile may vary from the restaurant’s version. Plant-Based Cranberry-Orange Scone Recipe Plant-Based Cranberry-Orange Scone Recipe Makes 12 scones Ingredients Soaked Fruit zest of 1 orange 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots 1/2 cup dried cranberries 3 tablespoons orange liqueur or orange juice Cranberry-Orange Scones 3 tablespoons rice milk 3 tablespoons applesauce 6 tablespoons sugar 3 cups gluten-free flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup plant-based butter substitute, at room temperature soaked fruit Instructions Soaked Fruit Combine orange zest, dried apricots, dried cranberries, and orange liqueur in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Cranberry-Orange Scones Whisk rice milk, applesauce, and sugar together in a small bowl and set aside. Sift gluten-free flour, baking powder, and baking soda together in the bowl of an electric mixer. Cut plant-based butter substitute into small cubes and add to flour mixture. Mix with paddle attachment on low speed until coarse crumbs form. Add rice milk mixture and mix on low speed until a rough dough forms and flour is no longer crumbly. Add Soaked Fruit with any remaining liquid and gently mix until dough is soft and starts to pull away from sides of the bowl. Do not overmix. Place dough on a cutting board dusted with gluten-free flour and shape into a 6×8-inch rectangle that is 1-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch squares and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes before preheating oven. Preheat oven to 400°F. Set scones out of freezer while oven is preheating. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown. Cook’s Note: This recipe calls for gluten-free flour. To ensure a gluten-friendly recipe, make sure all ingredients are gluten-free. Always use caution when handling sharp objects and hot contents. The international Disney Parks have some truly unique attractions! Aquatopia One of the most interesting parks to visit is Tokyo DisneySea, which has some incredibly creative and original attractions and lands. One of those rides is located in Port Discovery, and we just learned that it will be closing permanently. Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that Aquatopia will be closing permanently on September 14th, 2026. This ride has passengers boarding three-seater vehicles that spin and twirl on a water course, and Disney describes it as “an attraction where guests can enjoy the unpredictable movements of an automated water vehicle.” Aquatopia entrance Before its closure, the ride is getting a summer overlay. The regular version of the ride will be open for the last time from April 22nd-June 30th. After that, it will become the Aquatopia “Get Soaked” Version for the remainder of its tenure. This is part of the Summer Cool-off at Tokyo Disney Resort, where many rides have “Get Soaked” versions to help guests cool off during the hottest part of the year. The ride So, for those who love this attraction, you only have a few more weeks to enjoy its regular version, and a few more months to ride it at all. The ride is currently closed temporarily and will reopen on April 22nd for that last classic run. Bye, Aquatopia! Of course, there are lots of other unique attractions to enjoy in Tokyo DisneySea. The park is themed to myths and legends of the sea, and is made of 8 “ports of call.” Here, you’ll find attractions themed to popular Disney IPs like The Little Mermaid, Frozen, Peter Pan, Tangled, Aladdin, Indiana Jones, and more. But the park is also home to many original attractions. There has been SO much resort construction around Walt Disney World recently. With areas closed for refurbishment and amenities getting refreshed. However, one of those areas is finally open, and we are so excited! Fort Wilderness Resort Let’s jump into everything we know about the all-new pool area now open at Fort Wilderness! Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is located just a short boat ride from Wilderness Lodge. Unlike the grandeur of the Lodge, guests at Fort Wilderness can expect a more laid-back traditional camping vibe. With tent camping, RVs, and the new DVC Cabins. Fort Wilderness As such, the theming of this resort is simpler than what you would typically find around the Disney Resorts, but that doesn’t make it any less charming and magical. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area is still undergoing some refurbishment, but recently a new pool area opened! Meadow Swimmin’ Pool! This simple pool area is surrounded by the woods, with boulders circling the water, really immersing guests into the feeling that they are out exploring the wilderness. Wagon! This pool area has plenty of seating and even a super fun nod to the former River Country that you can see displayed on this fun wagon sitting next to the water! New Pool! Overall, this new pool area is just the beginning of the refurbishment coming to Fort Wilderness, including an updated lobby! Plus, the all-new Disney Lakeshore Lodge is currently being built right next to the resort. If you want a little more excitement from the pool area when staying at Fort Wilderness, just hop on over to the original pool area for even more touches of theming and a corkscrew slide! Meadow Swimmin’ Pool And if you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge, don’t forget to take advantage of all the fun and unique offerings you can only find there! Like horseback riding, archery, or kayaking. And of course, visit the incredible Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue This Disney resort is truly like no other and allows you to immerse yourself in nature and find a little pocket of quiet amid your busy Disney Vacation! Traveling to and from Disney World is something the entire DFB team has become well-versed in! We have made Disney vacation planning our entire career for over 15 years, so we definitely know our way around the resort. Mears Connect To start off your vacation, you have to start by getting to the Disney World resort! For me, that typically starts at the Orlando International Airport before hopping on a Mears Connect Bus to head to my resort. I’ve never had many issues with this…until it took me 3 hours to get to my Disney World hotel. I’m sharing everything that went wrong right here! If you didn’t know, there are lots of ways to get from the airport to Disney World! You can get a ride share, you can rent a car, and you can also book a spot on a Mears Connection transportation option. This is a shared shuttle option that runs between the airport and Disney World. You can book a ticket for the shuttle at very affordable prices, select a time to hop on, and head to your resort. It normally operates pretty quickly. During my last trip? Not so much. Mears Connect at Orlando International Airport This time, when I showed up after our on-time flight (so no delays), there was a huge line to take me to Fort Wilderness Resort, where I was staying. I waited roughly 45 minutes for a bus to arrive, and during that time, I was given no updates from the Mears employees. Once the bus finally arrived, we were walking to the line to get on, and an employee asked us which resort I was staying at. Follow the signs at MCO! When I said Fort Wilderness, they asked me to step to the side. They told me that it would be too many stops for the bus to take, and I would need to wait for the next bus. This was especially confusing because I was in line for the Fort Wilderness bus! When I asked how long the wait would be, they shared it would be another 45 minutes. Self Check In When I said that I had already waited 45 minutes, she had me and my family move to the side. Finally, another bus pulled up that was going to different Disney hotels, and the employee put us on this bus. The relief I felt was palpable! She told us we would be the first stop and that the bus would head straight to Fort Wilderness. There is also a bathroom on board the Mears Connect Buses After a long drive to the hotels, it turns out we weren’t first — we were the LAST hotel. Not only did it take us a very long time to get to Fort Wilderness, but the TVs were also broken on our bus, so that was an additional bummer. From the time we arrived at the check-in counter to the time we got to our hotel, it took 3 hours. Mears Connect bus While I normally have a good experience with Mears, I won’t deny that this was a very long, very stressful experience. I also wasn’t alone, and there was a toddler in my group, so that definitely added to the situation. That being said, this could have just been a fluke! We’ve even had bad experiences in Disney World, so we won’t write off the Mears Connect Buses just yet. Inside a Mears Connect bus This was just a great reminder that things can (and most likely will) go wrong at least once on your Disney trip, so pack your patience pants. Being able to roll with the punches is the best way to enjoy your Disney trip. This is also a great reminder to budget for extra time, errors, and more in your schedule. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, stories, and more. 3 Things I Wish I’d Known Before Waiting 3 Hours for Airport Transportation to Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being built as we speak, and we just got MORE details about this brand-new hotel! Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Lakeshore Lodge is located in the former home of Disney’s River County water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We have been keeping a close eye on the construction progress, but Disney just announced that this Disney Vacation Club Resort will officially open in summer 2027! Disney has officially announced that this hotel will be opening in summer 2027! While we knew it would open in 2027, the summer timeline is new — an official opening date has still not yet been shared. A-frames under construction at Lakeshore Lodge Disney also shared some updated concept art of the new hotel, and we’re even more excited for this resort to join the lineup! ©Disney We already knew that this hotel was going to be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” Previously released concept art featured Bambi, Flower, and Thumper from Disney’s Bambi, and a sign on the entrance that read, “The Wonders of Nature are Endless,” along with a silhouette that looked like Pocahontas. Now, with the new details, we are getting even more excited about this new hotel! Previous Concept Art ©Disney Originally, Disney had announced a hotel called Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge for the same space, but then stopped discussing the hotel. Now, Disney’s Lakeside Lodge will be opening instead. When Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge was announced, it was expected to have more than 900 rooms, which could give us an idea of how many to expect at Lakeshore Lodge. In case you didn’t know it, April 21st is National Tea Day, and you know what? We take tea VERY seriously here at DFB. Afternoon Tea Service Now that Garden View Tea Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has reopened with a new look AND a new menu, we can’t tell you just how impressed we were with the afternoon tea service there (and you can bet, we’ll be going back for it AGAIN AND AGAIN). The teas are delicious, the Alice in Wonderland-themed foods are WONDER-ful (see what we did there?), and the service is impeccable. So let’s talk about our afternoon tea experience. Now, if you want to read our full review of the afternoon tea service at Garden View Tea Lounge, you can do that here. But right now, we just want to talk about some of the highlights of our afternoon tea. To start, afternoon tea is $79 per adult and $49 per child (aged 3 to 9). The menu It feels SO special. The atmosphere makes the entire service feel lavish. Then you’ve got some amazing service. Cast Members are so knowledgeable about the teas and can really help you pick which ones to try out. After they bring out some rose-scented towels to wash your hands, they’ll also bring out the teas so you can smell them and then offer you their best recommendations on which ones you might enjoy. Twinings Loose Leaf Teas So what do you get with the tea? You get a choice of Twinings Loose Leaf tea selections, and an Afternoon Tea Tower piled high with Alice in Wonderland-inspired small bites and treats. Tea Experience in the Garden View Tea Room Before all that, though, you get Cranberry-Orange Scones with Whipped Butter, Orange Marmalade, and Devonshire Cream. The Devonshire cream is SO creamy and heavenly, but even just the butter and orange marmalade are delicious! Orange Cranberry Scones So what were our favorite small bites on the tower? Well, we loved them all! But we really loved the Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart, both because it tastes, but the presentation is A+! You also get the Footman’s Feast (a Wonderland Salmon Crisp with a salmon rillette on a miso brown butter crisp), Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich (a traditional egg salad on beet bread), and Caterpillar Cucumber Roll (a combination of butterfly pea-infused cream cheese and cucumbers on pumpernickel). Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart Okay, let’s talk about the sweet bites on the tower because, honestly, they were all big hits with us, too. The Matcha Mad Hatter is a sponge cake with apricot jam and yuzu buttercream, and how could we not love it? LOOK AT IT. This is probably our favorite because of the presentation, but also the unique flavors it brought to the tower. Other sweet treats include the Tea Party Tart (a vanilla tart, coffee custard, and chantilly cream), the Flamingo Croquet Choux (choux filled with passion fruit cream and raspberry crunch), and Painting the Rose, which is an Earl Grey-flavored teacake painted tableside. Matcha Mad Hatter You can even pay a little extra and indulge in something like Seasonal Cheese Selection, which you KNOW we had to get, because if you know us, we LOVE US SOME CHEESE. Seasonal Cheese Selection Okay, so the most IMPORTANT thing you need to know about is the tea, because this is, after all, an afternoon tea service. There are so many delicious teas available, and you’ll be sure to find the perfect one with the help of your server. Our faves were the Orangery of Lady Grey Tea… Orangery of Lady Grey Tea at the Tea Experience at the Grand Floridian Resort …the Exotic Mango & Ginger Tea… Exotic Mango & Ginger Tea …and Lemongrass & Peppermint Tea, which is an herbal tea. All three were perfectly brewed and tasted lovely. Lemongrass & Peppermint Tea But that’s not all. You can also get some non-alcoholic tea-based drinks, like the Curiosi-TEA Refresher, which is made with herbal tea, meaning it’s good for the kids (especially as it doesn’t have caffeine). Curiosi-TEA But, wait! There’s more! You can also get some delicious tea-based cocktails. We tried a few, but our favorite was the Mar-TEA-Ni, and seriously, what’s not to love? It has such a great combination of flavors. Isn’t it nice that you can enjoy afternoon tea with something a little boozy, too? Mar-TEA-ni Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our experience at the Garden View Tea Lounge, and we think if you’re looking to do something a little different in Disney World, this could be a great option. Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet? EPCOT Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and this latest one has us pretty darn excited, especially since the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is coming up! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we recently spotted one that has us pretty excited — especially since EPCOT’s biggest festival of the year will be here before we know it! EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Disney recently filed a permit for work at the World Showplace Pavilion in EPCOT. This space has historically been used for large events, EPCOT festivals, and the occasional emergency bathroom, but we haven’t seen it open in quite a while. The permit is for general construction with Shaw Contract Flooring listed as the contractor performing the work. While that may not be super exciting in and of itself, it’s what this work could mean that has us grinning. ©arcGIS While Disney hasn’t confirmed anything, the work being done at the World Showplace Pavilion could mean that we might see this space reopen for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Occasionally, this space has been used as a food booth, like we saw at the 2020 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, but before that, it was used for Culinary Demonstrations and Seminars! We haven’t seen these return since the parks reopened following the pandemic-related shutdown, but this could be a sign that Disney is bringing them back — which would be SO exciting. World Showplace Pavilion Of course, this may just be general maintenance, as the World Showplace is also used for private events such as corporate functions and banquets. Still, we’re hopeful this means something new might be coming to the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival instead! World Showplace Recognized as the Original Disney Food Festival, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival began in 1995 with 25 Marketplaces situated around World Showcase. Featuring incredible special events and delicious Marketplace Food Booths around the park, this annual event is a can’t-miss part of the Disney calendar! While dates for the 2026 festival have yet to be announced, we are pretty sure we know when it will be. Set Up for a Culinary Demo For the last several years, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has begun sometime in the latter part of summer, stretched through the fall, and ended in the middle of November just before the Thanksgiving Holiday. If Disney follows the same pattern in 2026, this year’s festival would last from August 27 through November 21st. Of course, this hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it may help you start to plan your visit. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival In the meantime, we’ll be on the hunt for new updates from Disney World and more — so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news! Lightning Lane is Disney’s skip-the-line service that guests can purchase, but there are actually times when you shouldn’t purchase it! Toy Story Mania Planning a trip to Walt Disney World comes with a LOT of decisions, and one of the biggest right now is whether or not Lightning Lanes are worth it. These paid skip-the-line options can save you serious time in standby queues, but they’re not always the right choice for every traveler or every park day. In fact, there are some situations where buying Lightning Lanes may not make much sense at all. Here are five times you may want to think twice before hitting that “purchase” button. 1. If You’re on a Strict Budget If you’re visiting Disney World on a tight budget, Lightning Lane passes may not be the best use of your money. These add-ons can quickly add up, especially for families, and when you factor in the cost per person per day, it can significantly increase the total price of your vacation. If your priority is sticking to a spending limit, you may find more value in allocating those funds toward dining experiences, souvenirs, or even an extra park day instead. With smart planning, utilizing Early Theme Park Entry, hitting big attractions in the morning, and taking advantage of lower wait times during parades or fireworks, you can still experience a lot without paying extra. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure 2. If You’re Staying Off Property If you’re staying off Disney property, purchasing Lightning Lanes can be a bit trickier. Guests who stay off-site can only book their selections three days in advance, compared to the earlier 7-day booking window available to Disney Resort guests. This delay can leave you with fewer ride options, especially for the most popular attractions, which tend to book up quickly. By the time your booking window opens, you may find that the rides you wanted most are no longer available at convenient times or at all. Cinderella Castle 3. If You’re Heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney’s Animal Kingdom is often considered the park where Lightning Lanes are the least necessary. Compared to the other parks, there are fewer rides overall (especially in 2026 when a whole land is under construction), which means fewer attractions where Lightning Lane access would even apply. Aside from a couple of major headliners, many wait times here are manageable, especially if you arrive early or plan your day strategically. Because of this, you may find that you can experience most of what the park has to offer without needing to pay for faster access. I’ve Tried Every Lightning Lane Hack in Disney World and I’m Sharing the 2 That Work Every Time Disney’s Animal Kingdom 4. If You Want a Relaxed Vacation If your goal is to have a laid-back, low-stress Disney vacation, Lightning Lanes might actually work against you. Using them effectively requires frequent phone use, constant time management, and sticking to a schedule throughout the day. For some guests, this adds pressure rather than convenience, making the experience feel more like a checklist than a vacation. If you’d rather wander the parks, enjoy spontaneous moments, and take things as they come, skipping Lightning Lanes can help you stay present and unplugged. Prince Charming Regal Carousel 5. If You Have a Long Vacation If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Disney World for an extended trip, you may not need Lightning Lanes at all. Having multiple days in each park gives you the luxury of time — something many guests don’t have. Instead of trying to fit everything into a single day, you can spread out your experiences, revisit attractions, and catch anything you missed without feeling rushed. This flexibility often makes paying extra for shorter wait times less necessary. EPCOT With all of that said, every Disney day is unpredictable. Crowd levels fluctuate, ride downtimes happen, and what works for one group may not work for another. While some guests feel perfectly satisfied skipping Lightning Lanes, others see it as a must-have to maximize their limited time. If your budget is strict, it’s worth considering whether the convenience is truly necessary for your travel style or if a more relaxed, cost-conscious approach will suit you just fine. Hollywood Studios Everyone’s Disney World trip will look different, and only you will know what is best for your travel party. We hope this helps you make decisions for your vacation! And with many experiences included — dining, live entertainment, youth programming, island activities, and more — once onboard, families can simply relax and focus on making memories together. Whether enjoying southern cuisine and jazz music at Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder or stepping into the heroic tale of Hercules in the Walt Disney Theater on the Disney Destiny, guests can immerse themselves in their favorite Disney stories no matter where they are sailing in the world. Because on a Disney cruise, there’s magic for parents, too. One of the most important parts of a theme park trip is the food you eat! There is nothing worse than waiting to try a new food item or snack, and it being disappointing. That’s why we’re here! We make sure to try all the new snacks so you can get the best food on your vacation! Universal Orlando Recently, our team stopped by the London section of Universal Studios to try a brand new snack. Let’s dive into the review! Our team recently went to the London Taxi Hut to try a brand new item! This is a small stand located outside the entrance to Diagon Alley and serves the iconic (and delicious) Jacket Potatoes! However, they recently added another classic British food. London Taxi Hut Our team stopped by and grabbed the brand new Sausage Roll for $13.99, and we were shocked by how much we enjoyed this snack! It was savory, and the spices were incredible. so delicious!! The outside crust was very crunchy and slightly greasy (but in a good way!), and it was the perfect amount of salty without being too overpowering. Look at that crust! This is perfect for a late afternoon snack or even a meal if you want to pair it with a jacket potato. Overall, this was great, and we would definitely grab it again. So yummy! However, after eating something so savory, if you’re in the mood for something sweet, slip into Diagon Alley to try some of our other Wizarding World favorite sweet treats! You could grab a delicious ice cream from Florean Fortescue’s in so many fun flavors like Earl Grey & Vanilla, Strawberry & Peanut Butter, or Chocolate Chili! Huckleberry ice cream Or a refreshing Frozen Butterbeer! Whatever your mood, there is always something great to grab in the Wizarding World! There is a special kind of magic that happens when a child steps onto a stage for the first time. As they spend weeks learning choreography, music and remembering lines, they discover sometimes surprising, and often wonderful new versions of themselves. Parents, community members and educators in Brevard County saw this magic in-person as students from Endeavour Elementary staged a spot-on performance of 101 Dalmatians KIDS on March 19. Brought to life with hands-on support from Disney Cruise Line and made possible by Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect, an initiative of Disney Theatrical Group, the performance was the grand finale for the young performers who have spent months preparing for their moment in the spotlight at the Rockledge High School auditorium. As the young cast took their final bows, a sea of Disney VoluntEARS from Disney Cruise Line cheered from the audience. Captain Mickey Mouse made a surprise appearance during the curtain call, inviting the budding stars to visit the Disney Wish for an exclusive performance of Seas the Adventure. In a touching tribute to the hard work of the cast and faculty, performers and educators were presented with handcrafted flowers created by crew members onboard the Disney Destiny. The Journey to Center Stage As one of the first schools in the nation to be part of the pilot Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect program, Endeavour Elementary School students, parents, and educators brought the power of Disney storytelling to life with the support of a unique cast of characters: Disney Cruise Line cast and crew members. To celebrate the launch of the Disney Destiny, the latest vessel in their celebrated Wish-class of ships, Disney Cruise Line introduced “Discover Your Destiny.” Sailing out of Port Everglades on 4- and 5-night Bahamian sailings, the Disney Destiny is a heroes- and villains-themed ship, that celebrates iconic characters and stories of Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel. “Discover Your Destiny” was designed to open doors for students and educators in our port communities by helping them explore the incredible power of storytelling through the creative arts. Through ongoing mentorship and behind-the-scenes access, Disney Cruise Line has been a part of this adventure from the very beginning. Students met with DCL entertainment crew members to hear firsthand what it’s like to turn a passion for performing into a professional career. Disney VoluntEARS and entertainment experts joined students at Endeavour Elementary to help assemble the props, spots, and tails needed for their canine cast. And before the public curtain rose, students hosted a special preview performance for DCL crew members getting a taste of what it’s like to perform for a global audience. “It was a really cool opportunity to be able to connect with the kids to emphasize that you can make a career out of the arts,” said Claire, a Disney Cruise Line Costume Production Manager. Bringing Stories to Life with Disney Musicals in Schools This collaboration is made possible through Disney Musicals in Schools, a program that ignites a passion for storytelling by building lasting theater programs in public elementary schools. By providing free performance rights, materials, and professional development for teachers, the program helps schools across the country launch brand-new musical theater programs — ensuring the next generation of artists has a place to grow. “What these students and educators accomplished is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the opportunity to tell stories through the arts,” said Lisa Mitchell, Director of Education & Audience Engagement at Disney Theatrical Group. “Programs like Disney Musicals in Schools help make arts education accessible and impactful for students across the country, and we’re incredibly grateful to Disney Cruise Line for going above and beyond to make this experience unforgettable for the Endeavour Elementary community.” Endeavour Elementary was selected as one of over 70 elementary schools nationwide to participate in the inaugural launch of Stage Connect, an innovative online teacher training platform that removes geographic barriers. This expansion of the Disney Musicals in Schools program provides free online training that empowers teachers with the tools and resources to produce a Disney KIDS musical. “Disney has inspired our students well beyond what we as educators could have ever imagined,” said Catherine Murphy, Principal of Endeavour Elementary School. “The Disney Musicals in Schools’ programing has been incredible. And Disney Cruise Line’s partnership has brought it to the next level.” Impacting the Region “Discover Your Destiny” reflects Disney Cruise Line’s deep commitment to the communities we call home. Beyond Brevard County, Disney Cruise Line is challenging students in Broward County, Fla., to think like Walt Disney Imagineers and executives by presenting business-case solutions to panelists from various departments across Disney Cruise Line. In The Bahamas, Disney Cruise Line is working with the Shirley Bass Foundation to help students apply artistic skills to the vibrant traditions of Junkanoo and educators layer the arts into their cultural storytelling. A Heroic Future As Disney Cruise Line continues to celebrate the Disney Destiny, a ship inspired by the legacies of heroes and villains, we are reminded that every great story starts with a spark of inspiration. Whether these students eventually find themselves on a Broadway stage or a Disney ship, we are honored to help them navigate toward a bright future. This is just the beginning of their journey — one that we’re sure will be filled with many more opportunities to shine in the “spotlight”. Want to Learn More?
