We Had One Burning Question Left About Disney World’s Newest Character Meal

Recommended Posts

If you’ve been waiting for the “hype” to die down about 1900 Park Fare reopening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort we can totally understand why. This beloved restaurant has recently reopened after 4 long years of waiting for its return with divisive changes from its former meals and characters.

Although we loved our initial meals here on its reopening day, we have to admit that we were left with a burning question. Did we really love it as much as we thought or were we just so happy to have it back in any capacity that we were thrilled with it regardless? Well, it seems like there was only one good way to put this to rest… a return visit!

So off we were to another meal at 1900 Park Fare! As soon as we stepped up to the doors it was like coming home again to be able to dine inside its spacious dining room. We were greeted by the restaurant’s cast members and ushered to our table almost immediately.

Welcome back!

However, should you have to wait there is a small waiting area between the check-in desk and stepping into the dining room for you to hang around and look at the artwork and themed wallpaper while you wait on your table.

Once we sat down at our table, we were shown a menu of specialty drinks which included non-alcoholic beverages, we placed our order and waited for its arrival. Since we had already tried a few of these out, we decided to try another off of the menu that piqued our interest as well — the Passion Fruit Daquiri.

Passion Fruit Daquiri

Since this is an alcoholic specialty drink it is a separate cost at $16. It tastes just like you would expect a boozy version of passion fruit juice to taste. It had a very forward taste of what you’ll get from the passion fruit in the POG juice that’s popular across Disney World for breakfast without the added orange and guava juice to really enhance that flavor. It was very sweet though, so expect for this one to be sweeter than just normal juice.

So delicious!

Then it was time to browse the buffet for our main course! Dinner here is served buffet style with lots of options between, salads…

… and even Tiana’s Gumbo!

There’s even a carving station of meats where we noticed a subtle change already in the menu! On this visit, our carved meat options were the juicy, tender Prime Rib AND the Spice Roasted Turkey!

This was different from our last meal here where Porchetta was at the carving station along with the prime rib. When we asked the chef about the change so soon in the menu, he mentioned to us that there’s actually a 3rd option that’s on rotation, too! On any given night you’ll have an option of porchetta, spice-roasted turkey, or ham in addition to the consistent prime rib (don’t panic, you’ll always have this option each night)!

The portions here are what you make of them and no one will bat an eye at you if you ask for a second cut (or take multiple plates back) for more carved meats.

Way too beige, right?

The desserts here were also the same, so we picked up a few of our favorites from the last visit including the Grand Floridian Financier, Lemon-Blueberry Cheesecake, and the chocolate cake.

We hope you saved room for desserts!

And you know our visit wouldn’t have been complete without a serving of the famous Strawberry Soup!

So you may be wondering about the characters and if they still were just as lovely as an experience as we had before? We’re happy to report that we were very pleased with their visits still!

Hey, Aladdin!

Each of the characters took their time to come around and speak to us with ample time for both conversation and photos before the wishing ceremony happened. Then, once the ceremony was over, the “wishmakers” all left the dining area and gave us plenty of time to eat from our plates and visit the buffet again (for desserts or seconds) before they were gearing up to make another round to visit around the dining room.

Tiana even showed off her wedding band!

Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations once again.
