Disney4me
The holiday crowds have certainly arrived at Disney World this week! Crowds in Magic Kingdom The parks have been significantly busier lately, and it feels like the crowds start arriving earlier and earlier every year. That means you can expect wait times on your favorite rides to soar. Want to avoid some of those long lines? Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes are great ways to save some time, but it will cost you! Disney World is a popular place to spend New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. That means it’s busy and Genie+ prices typically are more expensive! Today, January 1st, 2024, Genie+ costs $35 for the multi-park option, $35 for Magic Kingdom, $25 for EPCOT, $30 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and $20 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This cost is per person, per day. ©Disney This is actually down a few dollars from what it’s been the rest of the holiday break. Genie+ was $39 for the multi-park option and Magic Kingdom from December 23rd through the 31st. Does that mean that crowds might be a bit lower today, too? We’ll have to wait and see, but we’ll be sure to update you! Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight With Disney Genie+, you can book Lightning Lanes for many rides in the Disney World parks, which means you’ll get to SKIP the standby line and save some time. Lightning Lane You can buy Genie+ starting at midnight on the day of your trip, and you can make your first Lightning Lane reservations starting at 7AM. Click here to see which rides you should book FIRST with Disney Genie+. Note that not all rides are included with Disney Genie+ — some of the most popular rides have Individual Lightning Lanes instead, which you must purchase a la carte. These rides include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios. TRON Lightcycle / Run To skip the line on any of those popular rides, you must pay a separate fee. Like with Genie+, the cost for those rides’ Lightning Lanes changes based on the day. Here’s a look at those costs today, January 1st, 2024: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: $12 TRON Lightcycle / Run: $20 Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: $17 Avatar Flight of Passage: SOLD OUT by 9:30AM EST Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: SOLD OUT by 9:30AM EST As you can see, some of these rides’ Lightning Lanes sell out QUICKLY. You can start making Individual Lightning Lane reservations at 7AM if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or at the time that the park opens if you’re staying off-site. If these rides are a top priority for you, we recommend buying those Lightning Lanes ASAP on the day of your trip so they don’t sell out before you make your reservation.
