We are expecting BIG things from the EPCOT transformation!

World Celebration

EPCOT has been in limbo with construction for YEARS, now. But it’s all set to be over this month (according to Disney). And little by little, we are seeing updates and changes appear around the park. We recently spotted a change that had us both excited and possibly a little startled…? At this point, we don’t know if we love it or hate it.

We’re always excited when we see things being completed in EPCOT. Each one means we’re getting closer and closer to the end. So when we noticed this new path aesthetic we were floored (pun intended)! We saw what appears to be a metal grate-style ground on the walking path where the construction walls were recently pushed back.

Only, it’s already kinda rusted? – which is hopefully on purpose and part of the old-school, Walt-approved aesthetic?

New walkway aesthetic

It’s no sparkling cement, but it is kind of cool-looking. However, we also noticed that anytime an ECV goes over it makes a startling noise. This is a little unnerving!

The aesthetic choice here is interesting. We’ll be curious to see what is behind the construction walls and if it brings this pre-rusted ground a bit more context. Then, maybe we can all decide how we really feel about it. You can find this new grated ground near Connections Cafe (Starbucks), so head over to check it out for yourself!

In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney updates.
