Disney4me Posted November 24, 2023 Report Share Posted November 24, 2023 The holiday season has officially landed in EPCOT! 2023 Festival of the Holidays The Festival of the Holidays has kicked off with several food booths, multiple holiday storytellers, and a Candlelight Processional that’s star-studded. But sadly, one of last year’s big holiday offerings may not be returning to the park in 2023! In 2022, Disney introduced a special holiday overlay for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. It was the first time the ride had been transformed in any way, as it opened in May of that same year. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Last year, the overlay included a medley of holiday tunes instead of one of the six typical songs that make of the soundtrack of the ride. But this year, the overlay is likely not returning. There was no mention of the ride’s holiday shake-up online, but we snagged a virtual queue just in case EPCOT gave us a Christmas surprise. ©Disney However, when we arrived at the entrance of the ride, the Cast Members there told us that there are no plans for the overlay to return in 2023. Multiple employees confirmed that statement. We’ll be on the lookout just in case Disney switches up things last-minute, but as of right now, we’d advise you not to get your hopes up. Cosmic Rewind queue But even without this overlay, there will still be plenty of excitement in EPCOT this year!
