What if we told you that one of our favorite places to grab a sweet treat at Disney World doesn’t even require a park ticket for you to visit?

Amorette’s Patisserie

It’s true! Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs is home to a wide variety of specialty desserts that are so rich and decadent your sweet tooth will be kicked for the day, AND you just might feel a little bit fancy after eating a treat you snagged from the shop. Now that the holiday season is in full swing at Disney World, there are some NEW festive sweet treats available at Amorette’s, and we’re headed to check them out. We usually love the holiday offerings that we get here, so we could hardly wait to get our hands on these new offerings.

This year, the holiday offerings at Amorette’s Patisserie are the Christmas Tree Puff for $8

…and the Holiday Sweets Petit Cake For $22.

Holiday Sweets Petit Cake

We’ll start with the Christmas Tree Puff, which is a pistachio cream puff that’s been layered with cranberry-cherry compote. Already, we were hoping that this would live up to expectations. That’s like, a seasonal charcuterie board just wrapped into a cream puff. Regardless of our hopes and dreams for this treat, can we talk about how cute it is?!

IT’S ADORABLE

As far as taste goes, it was good. It wasn’t great. It had some unique flavors, especially with the cream filling itself. While we did get a hint of the pistachio flavor, it almost tasted like amoretto. It wasn’t bad, though! We really enjoyed how tart the cranberry-cherry compote was, and how it paired with the sweet cream. However, we do think that there might have been a bit too much of it. It almost resembled cranberry sauce, if cranberry sauce had a jam-like consistency.

That’s a LOT of filling

Overall, we did enjoy this but think it would be best suited for those with a more adventurous palette, as pistachio and cranberry-flavored things are already controversial ENOUGH among the sweet treat community. If you love pistachio as well as cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving dinner, this is the treat for you.

Next up, we have the Holiday Sweets Petit Cake, which is layer upon layer of spice cake, cream cheese icing, apricot jam, apple compote, and Italian buttercream. Oh, good heavens. This is like our dream cake. Can we also talk about how BEAUTIFUL this cake is?!

This is the most stunning cake we’ve ever seen

Visually, this takes the cake as one of our favorite holiday sweets of the year. How does it measure up flavor-wise though? Well, we loved it. This is a mild spice cake, so it isn’t overwhelmingly spicy or anything. It’s like a gingerbread kind of spice! We loved the chunks of apple we got here and there, and the compote and jam added such a nice contrast in both flavor and texture from the spice cake. The buttercream was light, creamy, sweet, and added some extra moisture to the cake — but the cake is pretty moist already, so it just made it even better and more delicious.

So cute!

Our one complaint is that we expect the cookie decor on the outside to be actual cookies, but they were white chocolate. While we do love a little bit of white chocolate and fondant decor here and there, this would have been so much better with an actual cookie. Also, the entire outside of the cake was fondant. As we said, we like a little bit of fondant HERE. AND. THERE. Not the whole outside of a cake.

Uggggghhhh.

Is this cake ridiculously good? Yes. Should you spend $22 on it? That’s up to you and how much you like spice cake. We’d recommend this cake to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and delicious holiday sweet treat, and it definitely takes the CAKE (Get it?) as our favorite holiday treat from Amorette’s this year.
