Disney4me
The holidays are here at Disney World, which means a bunch of NEW treats have arrived. Christmas tree in Disney Springs We’ve been trying a lot of the new snacks to tell you if they’re worth your time and money on your Disney vacation this holiday season. We saw exclusive party treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. We also tried some of the items found at the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread house this year. There are so many holiday snacks available and now there are two more on our radar! We headed to one of our favorite places for seasonal treats at Disney Springs, Swirls on the Water. There are TWO new holiday items we tried at this stand, which has a menu mostly comprised of DOLE Whips and soft serve. Swirls on the Water First, we were excited to try the Christmas Tree Sundae. This is a pistachio soft-serve in a waffle cone bowl with whipped cream, sprinkles, and candy Christmas lights. It looked beautiful in the display. Christmas Tree Sundae Although this treat was cute on the outside, we were slightly disappointed in the execution of it. Our reporter, who LOVES pistachio, did not love this. We felt that pistachio tasted too articifical in flavoring and the chocolate sauce was too rich. The chocolate sauce actually tasted like a sweet hot chocolate flavor to us, which alone was great. But we felt like there were too many flavors in the treat and they were not working well together. It looks sad We also felt like this is one of those cases of “Instagram vs Reality” snacks. Our festive tree turned into a tree straight from The Grinch’s Who-ville. However, if you are looking for a dessert that is very rich, this one might be for you. It is $6.49 and we think you could split this as a small dessert. Maybe she’s beautiful on the inside Next, we tried the Frozen Hot Chocolate Float for $6.79. This float has Frozen Hot Cocoa topped with salted caramel soft serve, caramel, and white chocolate pearls. Frozen Hot Chocolate Float We wish we had good news, but we don’t. Our reporter felt that it was overly sweet. The caramel soft-serve on its own was so sweet and to put even more caramel on top of it was too much. It was creamy and we thought the pearl sprinkles on top added some texture. However, overall we thought the salted caramel flavor was too strong. SO MUCH CARAMEL If you love overly sweet desserts or strong caramel flavoring, this treat is one you might enjoy! However, for us, it’s a skip due to the flavoring.
