Disney4me
‘Tis the season for all of the gingerbread houses to be on display at Disney World! Disney’s Beach Club Resort One of our favorite times of year at DFB is the holidays. Not just because of all of the new snack offerings (okay, maybe a little), but because of all of the gingerbread displays that go up in various Disney World resorts! This year, we need to give a round of applause to the imagineers who created the gingerbread displays. The ones we have seen so far are beautiful, creative, and… ahem, a Millennials dream. Well, at least one of them is and we NEED to share it with y’all. Every year, Disney’s Beach Club builds a gingerbread carousel — using a LOT of ingredients. A LOT of ingredients to make the Beach Club gingerbread carousel This year, the Beach Club resort’s iconic carousel theme is none other than DUCKTALES. That’s right, y’all. This display features horses themed to Donald Duck as well as his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie. It’s Ducktales-themed! Technically, the carousel is themed to the Ducktales World Showcase Adventure in EPCOT, which is a fun scavenger hunt game you can play in EPCOT with your phone! That’s why you’ll find Spaceship Earth on top of the carousel with the DuckTales logo. It’s inspired by EPCOT’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure You’ll find some familiar Ducktales faces throughout the gingerbread display, including Scrooge McDuck. See all those flags? Those are the flags of the countries that have pavilions at EPCOT. Cool, right? We spot Scrooge! You’ll also find that the carousel horses are inspired by individual countries in EPCOT’s World Showcase. We love this level of detail, especially considering that this whole thing is EDIBLE. Carousel horse inspired by the Mexico Pavilion Not only are we super excited about this years carousel, but we are also LOVING the re-themed rooms at this resort (and a little piece of us thinks that the two are related…). See Donald’s footprints? The re-themed rooms showcase Donald Duck in some very tasteful ways! We get to see his foot prints outlined on the rug, as well as some artwork of him and his nephews having a good time at the pool. While his presence isn’t in your face, we love the little nods and inclusions of him in the artwork. Donald Duck art in a refurbished Beach Club room We don’t think the theme of this years carousel is coincidental, and we honestly can’t get enough of it either. So we’ll just be over hear singing the DuckTales theme song and reliving our childhood — Woo-oo! Check back in with us at DFB for more gingerbread display updates!
