You Can’t Count on Genie+ Pricing in Disney World These Days

Let’s face it — Disney World can be consistently inconsistent.

Here at DFB, we’re on the lookout for daily changes at the parks, both enormous and subtle. The constant we’ve noticed is that the parks are always changing. This comes as no surprise, as this was ultimately a plan of Walt Disney’s when he opened his first park in Anaheim. Still, as cool as it is to see the parks change and evolve over time, these modifications and adjustments can create some challenges when it comes to trip planning.

When we took a glance at Genie+ prices at Disney World on October 30th, 2023, we were thrown for a mini-loop. Something was different — the pricing wasn’t consistent with what we’ve seen in the past!

On Monday, the Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom’s Genie+ service went for $27 each, while EPCOT cost $18 per person, Disney’s Hollywood Studios cost $22, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom cost $16.

The change comes for the last three parks, which have sat at those prices when Magic Kingdom and the Multiple Parks Genie+ prices were at a lower $25. Typically, when Magic Kingdom and the Multiple Parks Genie+ services are $27, EPCOT’s Genie+ service costs $19 per person, Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ costs $24, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s costs $17.

Ultimately, it looks like Genie+ users at the parks saved a buck or two at Disney World on Monday. Those savings really add up especially if you have a big family!

What this means in the long term is still unclear. It’s possible that Genie+ users just got lucky for one day, which would be a nice respite from the constant price increases for the Genie+ service. Sometimes there really is no pattern and some people just get lucky on certain days. It’s also possible that maybe Disney is starting to come down from the higher prices of the service and this is just the first example.

At this point, we’re still stuck in speculation but we’ll keep you in the know the second we learn anything concrete.
