Whether you’re heading there for the holidays or are already preparing for your 2024 vacation, you probably have plenty of things you need to cross off your to-do list before you get there. Not only that, but, depending on when you were last there, there are likely quite a few new things you haven’t seen yet — and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon!

We’re taking another look at recently filed permits for Disney World to get an idea of what sort of work may be going on around the property — here’s what we found this time around.

Disney World Hotels

Grand Floridian

It’s certainly no secret that the Grand Floridian is undergoing quite a bit of renovations, but Disney is still filing permits for more work to be done at this deluxe hotel! We found a few new filings that indicate more is coming — first, a “utility and infrastructure modifications” permit that looks like it matches up with a DVC building…

…and another for “general construction” at the Grand Floridian Trolley House.

More construction

It’s unclear what exactly the work will be for, but utility and infrastructure modifications make us think there will be a bit more than just painting going on here. We’ll keep an eye on any potential work that could impact your trip. Right now, you’ll find scaffolding and fencing up around much of the resort, so keep that in mind if you’ll be visiting soon.

Polynesian

The Polynesian Village Resort will soon be home to a brand new DVC addition, and we’ve had our eye on that progress for a while. But, a new permit has been filed that seems to match the Tonga building at this hotel.

The permit is for “general construction,” which, as we’ve mentioned before, can be anything from minor to major renovations. The contractor listed on the permit is Faden Builders, who we’ve seen work on other projects in Disney World before.

Pop Century and All-Star Sports

Each of these hotels is set to get a bit of love in the near future. A permit was filed for work to be done by an electrical contractor at Pop Century…

We’ll let you know if any of this work could impact your stay!

Magic Kingdom

Over in Magic Kingdom, we spotted a new permit for “general construction” at the Hall of Presidents!

We’re not sure what sort of work this might be, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates.

EPCOT

We also found a permit that matches up with a kiosk in the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOT. This one is to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction,” so it’s possible more work could be coming to this area soon too.

We’ll keep an eye on more permits that could mean change is on the way in Disney World, so be sure you stay tuned to DFB for more!
