This September, we could hear some BIG news from Disney.

Where will this news come from? From a HUGE Disney fan event: Destination D23, which will return to Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World from September 8th to the 10th, 2023. Destination D23 is an event hosted by the official Disney fan club, D23. We often hear exciting announcements, see sneak peeks at current Disney projects, and hear from special guests. We already have the schedule for this year’s event that can give us some insight into what we can look forward to.

First, let’s talk about what Destination D23 is.

This three-day event is full of Disney Legends, archivists, historians, Imagineers, Cast Members, and animators. We usually see panels and presentations about upcoming Disney projects. At Destination D23 in 2021, we learned a whole bunch of news like the return of Walt Disney Studios lot tours, the opening timeline for Disneyland Paris’ Avengers Campus, the D23 Expo lineup, and more.

This is also where we learned that Connections Cafe and Eatery would be coming to EPCOT — so we’re expecting to hear some pretty exciting announcements at the 2023 Destination D23. You can check out ALL the announcements we heard in 2021 here.

We do know that the 2023 event will celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company and that “fans will be among the first to hear exciting announcements and see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney — and relive favorite memories with behind-the-scenes stories, special guests, and so much more at this epic event.”

We could hear more about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the ongoing construction at EPCOT like Communicore Hall, and potentially, more about the new nighttime show celebrating the 100th Anniversary at EPCOT. While it’s not clear yet what will be shared during the event, we are already excited about it. Big announcements are sure to come!

If you don’t have tickets to Destination D23, you’re out of luck, though — the event has officially sold out. However, some presentations are usually live-streamed, and we’ll be back with that virtual schedule once Disney announces it. We’ll also be covering all the news from Destination D23, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
