Walt and Mickey The first month of 2023 zipped by thanks to tons of news, including the closure of an attraction as well as the start of Disney’s 100th Anniversary celebrations. February is here and has already brought its fair share of updates! The Disney100 celebration is now in full swing, bringing new merchandise and treats along with it. Plus with the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run on the way and construction underway over at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Magic Kingdom is busy. That’s why we’re here to keep you up to date! Keep reading to check out what’s been happening in Magic Kingdom recently. Magic Kingdom Food Updates Main Street Confectionery Valentine’s Day is in full bloom! If you want to buy sweets for your sweetheart, the Main Street Confectionery is the place to go. They have a variety of Valentine’s Day-themed snacks, like these Candied Mickey Apples covered in red and pink candies for $12.99 each. Candied apples We also spotted some tasty Mickey-shaped cereal treats for $6.49 each … Tons of toppings … as well as these chocolate-covered marshmallows for $5.49 each. A portable snack! Magic Kingdom Construction Updates TRON Lightcycle / Run We are counting down the days until the opening of this new ride! Here’s a view from the PeopleMover of the current state of the ride. That little blue sign points visitors over to the pathway that leads to Storybook Circus, so you’ll be able to access TRON from 2 different pathways. TRON Lightcycle / Run We also checked out what’s going on BEHIND the attraction… Behind the scenes …and discovered a big crane! Disney Cast Members are likely working on some construction or cleaning over here. One Cast Member told us that they have been hard at work cleaning off Space Mountain recently due to dust that’s kicked up by the construction on TRON. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Speaking of cranes … we spotted one over by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (previously Splash Mountain) too. What’s going on up there? We also saw new “Tiana’s Foods” signs as a hint of what’s to come! Tiana’s Foods sign Since we first spotted these signs, they’ve now added lanterns for a cozy New Orleans feel. New lanterns Space Mountain Not all of the goings-on have to do with new rides being built or current rides being torn down. Space Mountain was getting a nice pressure wash bath! Space Mountain preparing for pressure washing Some Cast Members nearby were also working on sprucing up the landscaping. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe This retail favorite currently has a temporary wall splitting the store in half, so don’t be surprised the next time you head in! Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe You can still visit to shop for Christmastime gifts and souvenirs, but there are fewer items available for now while Disney works on refurbishing part of the store. Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. Nearby, poor Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. was still missing its sign. Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. We still don’t know when it will return, but we’re keeping an eye out! Magic Kingdom Merchandise Updates Emporium Interested in some 100th Anniversary merch? The Emporium has these magnets for $14.99 each! 100th Anniversary Magnets You can also stop by this large shop for the new Stitch Spirit Jersey. The front has a tiny Stitch next to the Walt Disney World logo … Stitch Spirit Jersey … and on the back is a larger logo with Stitch trying desperately to claw his way back up!
