Disney4me
One of Hollywood Studios’ most iconic rides is the Tower of Terror! Tower of Terror Recently, this ride has seen some super high wait times. 150 minute waits for this ride are way more common than we want them to be. Apart from summer crowds, another reason the waits have been so high is because only half of the ride is working! Tower of Terror has a total of 4 elevators, but only 2 of them have been running. That means that the ride has only been operating at HALF its capacity, making wait times spike. Yesterday, we saw testing on the closed side of the ride. Yay!!! TESTING The closed side on Tower of Terror is moving! While this is a cause for happy dancing it does come with a caveat Cast Members tell us once this side opens, the other will go down for work pic.twitter.com/ssMSBgtz1E — Disney Food Blog (@DisneyFoodBlog) June 24, 2022 And today, we saw a glimpse of hope when both sides of the Tower of Terror, so all 4 elevators, were running! What’s this? People are riding on BOTH sides of Tower of Terror The wait is still 65 minutes though pic.twitter.com/eQGjFJxiB4 — Disney Food Blog (@DisneyFoodBlog) June 25, 2022 The wait time was still posted at 65 minutes, but that’s much less than we’ve seen this ride at in the past few months. We decided to hop in line to see how quickly it was moving! When we got into the lobby, guests were being divided into two sections to go into the different preshow rooms! In total, it took us about 45 minutes to get through the line and off the ride. Both sides are open! When we headed to the loading area, sure enough all of the elevators were open and running. We asked several Cast Members about the closures over the past few months and we have been told several times that once the left side was back up and running, the right side would close to get the same refurbishments done. We’ll be checking back every day to see if Tower or Terror closes the other side of the ride, but for now, go enjoy the lower wait times! Both sides are open! We’re glad to see this ride is operating like normal, and we’re happy to say goodbye to the 100 minute waits (for now). If you want to skip the line, you can always use Disney’s Genie+ service.
