Disney4me
It’s not uncommon for rides to randomly close in the Disney parks! Magic Kingdom Typically, when this happens, there’s a pretty valid reason. We often see outdoor attractions close in inclement weather, rides shut down for refurbishments, or even the occasional technical difficulties. But, there’s one Magic Kingdom ride that seems to be closed more often than many others! When we stopped by Tomorrowland recently, we found that the PeopleMover was unexpectedly closed. There weren’t any storm clouds in the sky or scheduled refurbishments, so we spoke to the Cast Members to see what was going on. It was closed! We were told that the ride randomly shut down and that they have since had trouble getting it to come back up. They thought it was likely that the PeopleMover would remain closed all day, so you may have to wait until your next visit to ride this popular attraction. It may not come back up today. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this happen…in fact, this ride closes a LOT. There have been many times when we were riding that it has stopped and the attraction lights have come on. And in the past few months, we’ve seen multiple evacuations! PeopleMover Evacuation But that’s not all of the PeopleMover drama! It actually went through a pretty lengthy refurbishment when the parks reopened, and it was closed for over a year. After such a long closure, it’s almost surprising that the ride breaks down as much as it does. So if this is a high priority for you, you might want to consider riding early in the day — then you may have a better chance of hopping on before it pitches a fit. Being evacuated from the PeopleMover Even if you’re on board when it breaks down, there’s a solid chance you could get evacuated (this is one of the more commonly evacuated rides). For some Disney fans, that’s a dream come true! But if you hope to ride it all the way through, we recommend hitting this one first thing in the morning if it’s on your must-do list.
