It’s a busy time in Disney World, and with that comes lots of crowds and lots of lines.

This week we were surprised by a popular ride’s wait time, Disney World waterpark news, and the price of a tiny new souvenir. Check out all the unexpected Disney World news here!

Rise of the Resistance Wait Time

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has been one of the most popular rides in Disney World since it opened, and now that Disney World is in the midst of the busy holiday season, we’ve seen ride wait times increase accordingly. Still, you couldn’t prepare us for the 245 MINUTE WAIT TIME we saw for Rise of the Resistance on December 29th!

And no, we aren’t joking. For real, it was 245 minutes for the standby line! At that point in the day, all the Individual Lightning Lanes were sold out, so standby was the only option for people without a Lightning Lane. Would YOU wait four hours for Rise of the Resistance?!

Check out the 4 (!!) hour wait time for Rise of the Resistance!

Disney World Waterpark News

This week we learned that Blizzard Beach will be closing for refurbishment on January 2nd, 2022, and there is currently no reopening date on Disney World’s calendar. Blizzard Beach is one of two Disney World waterparks, and it reopened back in March 2021.

Blizzard Beach will continue to stay open from 10AM to 5PM through January 1st, 2022, so you still have a chance to visit before the big refurbishment!

Read more about Blizzard Beach closing for refurbishment here.

On the same date that Blizzard Beach closes, Disney World’s other waterpark, Typhoon Lagoon, will be reopening on January 2nd, 2o22! Typhoon Lagoon has been closed since March 2020.

$50 PopSocket

This week we found a new 50th anniversary PopSocket PopGrip for a cool $50, even though most PopSockets cost between $15 to $20. This PopSocket is decorated with a gold Cinderella Castle silhouette with the 50th logo, and it really does cost $50.

We found these new PopSockets at Island Mercantile at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and they were surprisingly selling out FAST in spite of the high price!

Would YOU buy a $50 Disney PopSocket?

New Joffrey’s 50th Anniversary Cups

This week we found brand new 50th anniversary coffee cups at the Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company in Disney Springs! One side of the cup features the 50th logo, while the other has the Joffrey’s logo.

The color looks great with our iced coffee!

They come only in the cold cups in sizes medium and large, but you can get any cold drink you like! We’ll be watching out for these cups to pop up in other areas of Disney World.
