Walt Disney World Gateway Things are constantly changing at Disney World, and February of 2021 will be no exception. From new treats and refurbishments to a brand NEW exhibit, here are some of the biggest changes coming in February! 1. New Treats Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away, and we’ve already started to see some special treats released for this holiday. But, a whole bunch of other ones (including some returning favorites) will be released in February. The Royal Majesty cake pop will be back in Magic Kingdom… Royal Majesty Cake Pop …and the Valentine Ice Cream Sandwich will be back at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If you’re looking for a special event to attend on Valentine’s Day, you can check out the (pricey) Chef’s Tasting Dinner being offered at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. There will also be some special cupcakes baking all throughout February at Sprinkles. Sprinkles Gideon’s Bakehouse also just released some new treats forFebruary. And these are . Eternal Flame Cookie Basically, February will bring with it some new treats and menu items, so be on the lookout for those. Read our FULL review of the new Gideon’s eats here! 2. Refurbishments During February, a number of things will also go under refurbishment. Over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, the Hippy Dippy pool will be closing for maintenance in mid-February. The Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will also undergo refurbishment that month. Extended Park Hours One of the most important things you’ll want to continually monitor as your trip to Disney World gets closer are those park hours. Park Hours can change, so it’s important that you know how long you can have at each of the parks to take full advantage of your day(s) there. So far, we’ve seen some hours extended in early February. Magic Kingdom Again, keep in mind that these are subject to change. Festival of the Arts Ending Another change that will come in February has to deal with EPCOT’s festivals. Currently, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts is going on. The Festival is only scheduled to run through February 22nd, however. After that, the schedule will close to make way for the Flower & Garden Festival, which will begin in March. Soul of Jazz + Black History Month Celebrations Recently, Disney announced that a NEW exhibit inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Soul will be coming to The American Adventure in EPCOT. The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure will take guests on a musical tour across America, including stops at New Orleans, Chicago, New York City, and more. Soul of Jazz The exhibit officially opened on February 1st, so guests can visit the American Adventure pavilion right now and check it out. Each of the jazz hubs featured in the exhibit have their own board on the walls discussing their spot in jazz history, and some of the famous musicians that brought jazz to these cities. You’ll even be able to see how jazz feeds into the music of some famous musicians like Beyonce and Lady Gaga. The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure So, if you’re looking for something new to experience in the parks, be sure to check out this exhibit. Click here to see more photos of the new Soul of Jazz exhibit! February is Black History Month and Disney is inviting guests to “Celebrate Soulfully” with all kinds of special events. During February, you’ll get to enjoy some musical performances on Motown Mondays, Jazz Thursdays, and Smooth Sundays at Disney Springs. There will also be four new art displays in Disney Springs inspired by Soul and created by emerging Black artists. Disney Springs If you’re looking for more new snacks, restaurants in Disney Springs will be offering special menu items, like treats inspired by Soul and The Princess and the Frog at Amorette’s Patisserie. After you eat all of those delicious treats, you can shop around the stores that will be highlighting products from Black designers, artists, and visionaries. NBA G League at Disney World And finally, during February, the NBA G League will begin playing its 2021 season at Disney World, in a bubble environment like the one that the NBA used in 2020.
