Disney4me
Disney World is full of secret menus and snack hacks! Galaxy’s Edge From hacks we create ourselves, to incredible secret menu items, we are always on the hunt for new hidden treasures around Disney World. That’s why when we heard of a potential secret menu at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we had to check it out for ourselves! Here’s the deal with drinks at Oga’s: all of the drinks come pre-mixed. Basically, your bartender just pours them in a glass along with any additional garnishes. Well, word on the “streets” had been recently circulating that some guests had been able to order up secret blended concoctions of the pre-mixed menu items. This would be similar to how you can order combos from the pre-made moonshine at the Shine Bar at Disney Springs’ Homecomin’. Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios We had seen a drink floating around called The Sith which is a Jedi Mind Trick and a Jet Juice combined. We asked our server if this combo was possible and he was quick to tell us NO. They can not mix the drinks in odd combinations for you. And it makes sense why. Remember when the Milk Stand first opened and we discovered the oh-so-Instagrammable parfait where we layered the green and the blue milks in a cup? We couldn’t order it from the stand this way. They were only allowed to pour just blue milk or just green milk. Same deal here. They can only serve the drinks as described on the menu. Milk Hack! Remember a few years back when the rumor spread like wildfire that if you yelled “Andy’s coming!” to a Toy Story character in the parks they’d drop to the ground on the spot? The chance experience of one person turned into seemingly a bajillion people trying it and likely just as many frustrated Cast Members secretly begging them to stop. Basically just because the internet says it exists and you can do it…doesn’t mean you always can. Same thing here (with a caveat). Can you order a “Sith” or any other “secret” combo of Oga’s drinks? Not directly. Can you order both a Jet Juice and a Jedi Mind Trick and pour them into one cup? Sure. But this isn’t exactly “new.” You could walk up to any bar at Disney World, order two drinks and dump them in the same cup. It’s not often done because you’re basically paying for two drinks just to make one “new” one. And in the case of Oga’s drinks, they don’t exactly come cheap — the drinks are each $15 a pop. So that “special” drink now cost us $30. Yikes. Better be a killer drink then. Oga’s Cantina Drinks and Coasters For the sake of putting this one to bed, we decided to order it. Our Cast Member confirmed we could order both if we really wanted to do it, but, again, he couldn’t serve them poured together (especially not for the price of just one drink). Not So Secret Menu Drink The Jedi Mind Trick is made with Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum, Bols Blue Curaçao, White Grape Juice, Lime Juice, and Grapefruit Bitters. Jedi Mind Trick Jet Juice is a mixture of Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, Cedilla Açaí Liqueur, White Grape Juice, and Lemon Juice. Jet Juice Together, these two drinks make…well, swamp water. Although red and blue typically make purple when mixed together, this drink turned into a grey, unappetizing mess. The Sith (A.K.A. Swamp Water) We wish we could say it tasted good, but there was just WAY too much going on. We thought a more fitting name than “The Sith” would be “The Bottom of Darth Vader’s Boot.” It ended up tasting mostly like the Jedi Mind Trick rather than Jet Juice, but the combination was not our favorite. When we took our drink in a to-go cup outside, you could see this hot mess in all its glory. “The Bottom of Darth Vader’s Boot” Secret Drink It looks like dirty mop water, guys. In the end, this is not worth the money. To create this “secret” drink, you’d have to pay $30 to mix the two drinks when they are better off on their own. These drinks were created individually for a reason. Just because you can dump booze together in a cup and drink it combined…doesn’t mean you should. It’s just too much going on in bad way. Cast Members really heavily discouraged creating your own secret menu drinks since it is not officially from the lounge, so you’ll want to stick to the published menu. Oga’s Cantina has some unique drinks on its own, and there are plenty to choose from! We’re glad to have cracked the code on the secret menu (or lack thereof) here at Oga’s, and we’ll update you on any other (real!) secret menus around Disney World! In the meantime, we’ll be enjoying the drinks that are on the actual menu from this (and other) Disney World watering holes. PSST!
