It’s only September, but Christmas in Disney World is already on our minds.

Christmas At Magic Kingdom 2019

We were checking out the Halloween treats around the parks today when we were suddenly bombarded by Christmas news — but we’re not complaining! We’ve got special holiday character dining and a beloved EPCOT festival to look forward to, but now let’s take a look at ALL of the holiday entertainment coming to Disney World this year!

Christmas officially hits Walt Disney World on November 6th and will stick around through December 30th. You can bet that during that time we’ll be seeing holiday decor, eating holiday treats, and buying holiday merch. But let’s talk about entertainment! For one, Santa Claus WILL be making pop-up, distanced appearances in all four parks AND in Disney Springs!

Cinderella Castle will also be getting a new festive look. This year, the usual Castle Dream Lights will be replaced with special projection effects to make the castle look like a whimsical Christmas sweater, a decorative piece with Christmas-y ornamentation, and MORE. You can get a preview in this video!

This holiday season will also bring a makeover to the new character offerings in the parks. Animal Kingdom will see festive flotillas, EPCOT will have holiday promenades, Hollywood Studios will have merry motorcades, and the character cavalcades in Magic Kingdom will have a holiday twist too. Get ready to see Gingerbread Men, Elves, Reindeer, AND the Toy Soldiers (these guys will march alongside Main Street Philharmonic)!

Of course, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is returning as well and with it comes some entertainment. You’ll be able to catch JOYFUL! belting out a variety of Christmas tunes in the World ShowPlace and the Voices of Liberty will be weaving harmonious carols over at the America Gardens Theatre stage during the festival. Do note that EPCOT’s annual Candlelight Processional has been canceled this year.

There’s even some entertainment OUT of the parks. Though the Christmas Tree Trail won’t be put together in all of its glory in Disney Springs, guests will be able to find the elaborately-decorated trees scattered throughout the complex. Plus, Town Center, West Side, and The Landing will all see SNOWFALLS periodically too!

So, ya see, there’s LOTS to look forward to this holiday season, even without Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Stay tuned for more updates!
