City Works’ Ribbon Cutting Ceremony This Afternoon The ribbon has officially been cut and the giant novelty scissors have been safely tucked away…for now! We’re heading IN to check out Disney World’s newest premium sports bar and restaurant — the City Works Eatery and Pour House! The City Works Eatery and Pour House restaurant chain currently operates nine locations, and now they’ve just opened their tenth location right here in Disney World! Don’t have time to go in? Just swing by their outdoor bar to snag a quick brew on-the-go! City Works Outdoor Bar Atmosphere The inside of the new City Works at Disney Springs looks and feels a lot like the City Works we’ve previewed before (we previewed one of their locations when we heard the restaurant was coming to Disney World which you can read more about HERE!). City Works in Disney Springs And like the other City Works we’ve seen, this place also has one of the biggest tv walls we’ve EVER seen (we’re talkin’ a 168″ big boy surrounded by four additional 110″ high-def screens AND twelve more 65″ TVs!). City Works City Works will be THE SPOT to watch all your favorite upcoming live sporting events like the NCAA tournament and Major League Baseball games this spring, so plan on getting there early to stake out your spot! Oh, and check out all those DRAFT TAPS underneath those TVs! We gotta admit, this is ONE glorious wall! No wonder it’s the main focal point of City Works — this feature wall has got it goin’ on! City Works Drinks But back to the main reason we’re here — to talk about City Works Eatery & Pour House’s menu — which is QUITE extensive! You’ll find a bar menu that’s several pages long and includes craft beers, macro lagers, frozen drinks as well as wine available on tap! City Works Beer Menu Meanwhile, you’ll also find the beers-on-tap displayed on the walls of the restaurant. This side is categorized into Wheats, Belgians, Ciders, Stouts and Porters, Macro-Brews, Cider and Seltzer, and Wines. The Wall of BEER! Meanwhile, the other massive wall has Pale Ales and IPAs, Fruits and Sours, Independent Lagers, Strong and Double Imperial IPAs, and a Rotating category. City Works is proud to feature local Florida breweries on its menu and 30-40% of its draft beer taps are Florida micro beers! The OTHER Wall of BEER! City Works also has Happy Hour specials Monday through Friday from 3 PM – 6 PM! Enjoy $2 off well drinks, local craft beers and glasses of wine, and $7 bar bites! There’s also drink specials available from 10 PM-midnight. Happy Hours! Eats We’ve eaten at City Works twice in our hometown. While we quite enjoyed ourselves the first time, we didn’t have the best experience when we ate there the second time. So honestly, we didn’t really know what to expect at this new location. If you’re craving some American-style food to go with your beer and sports, then you’ll be in good company at City Works! City Works The restaurant offers appetizers, burgers, salads, entrees, desserts, and more! We’ve noticed many of the plates are designed to be shared. First up, we tried the Chicken Tinga Tacos for $16! They’re made with house-smoked pulled chicken, avocado mash, pickled red onion, grilled corn, micro cilantro, queso fresco, white corn tortillas, corn, and black bean salad. Chicken Tinga Tacos These tasted so fresh and light, yet had a nice spiciness to them. We also enjoyed the corn salad they came with as it was rather citrusy, which made it pair well with the spicy tinga chicken! Chicken Tinga Tacos We also ordered the Duck Nachos for $18. These, which are known as a City Works specialty, feature pulled confit duck, pepper jack cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, smoked tomatoes, red onion, white beans, avocado, micro cilantro, queso fresco, and wonton chips. Duck Nachos We enjoyed the flavors on these, too. The melted pepper jack cheese sauce is sooooo good. And we liked that the chips are wontons instead of regular nacho chips. The duck confit was good as there was a slight kick from the jalapeño. But if you don’t like it hot, you can just remove those and you’ll likely find that the rest of the dish is pretty mild. Duck Nachos The last entrée we ordered was the Nashville Hot Chicken Wrap with Fries for $17. The wrap is made with buttermilk breaded crispy chicken breast, hot cayenne pepper mop, romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, ranch dressing, and a flour tortilla. It also comes with a side of fries that’s been tossed in parsley and olive oil! Nashville Hot Chicken Wrap with Fries The mop is truly HOT HOT HOT. The chef even came out to warn us that other tables who had ordered them thought they were too spicy — but the wrap couldn’t truly be called Nashville hot chicken without a bit of a kick — so, know, you get what you pay for, literally! We personally weren’t too overwhelmed by the spice and we enjoyed our side of fries! Nashville Hot Chicken Wrap with Fries For dessert, we tried the S’mores Dip for $10! This sweet treat is made with Hershey’s chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. S’mores Dip The dessert wasn’t our favorite (we’ve had their Peanut Butter Snickers Pie and it was WAAAAY better). There was a ton of marshmallows but very little chocolate. It’d be much better if they’d cut the marshmallow in half and layered the chocolate inside, but even then, it still would be pretty basic! Honestly, it reminds us of the $40 Gibsons S’more Baked Alaska from the Boathouse. It sounds good on the menu, but unfortunately, it’s kind of a letdown and both s’mores dishes totally something we could make at home cheaper. S’mores Dip For some reason, it’s hard to find a good s’mores dessert in Disney Springs. To put it simply, the s’mores dip was underwhelming and didn’t blow us away. Moving on! Don’t forget to check out City Works’ Rock N Roll Weekend Brunch! We’ve heard Jon Bun Jovi will be making a special cameo appearance — the cinnamon roll, not the famous musician! Rock N Roll Brunch Read all about the Rock N’ Roll Brunch here! As we mentioned earlier, we’ve been to City Works in our hometown a few times. Here’s what else we’ve tried as the menu options are likely very similar to what you’ll find at Disney Springs. We found the Pretzel Bites ($11) served with gouda cheese sauce to be pillowy carb heaven. These were easy to eat and hard to share! We’re happy to see that they are on the Disney Springs City Works menu as well. Pretzel Bites with Gouda Cheese Sauce The Cheese Curds ($11) with smoked tomato coulis were another enjoyable option. I mean it’s fried cheese, so you know we were totally on board. Sadly, we weren’t the biggest fans of the sauce due to the “smoked” flavors. So maybe skip the sauce but go for the cheese. Always go for the cheese! Cheese Curds with Smoked Tomato Coulis Known as a sharable on the City Works menu, we also have all the details on the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’ll cost ya $14 and it’s made with pulled Buffalo chicken, bleu cheese cream, and housemade giardiniera (marinated vegetables). This is a gluten-free option that we found to be nice, creamy, and flavorful without an overwhelming amount of spice. Buffalo Chicken Dip Now, to tell ya about the burgs. Back in our hometown, we tried the Smokehouse Burger for $20.00. It’s made with house-smoked BBQ pulled pork shoulder, smoked provolone, BBQ bacon onion relish, Carolina mustard BBQ sauce, and crispy buttermilk onion strings. This burger was super savory and was definitely on the heavier, messier side. Smokehouse Burger We also tried out the Filet Mignon Sliders for $21. Served on pretzel rolls, these little babies are snuggled up with some horseradish cream and caramelized onions. Filet Mignon Sliders There’s also the City Works Pork Chop for $26. This savory dish is topped with a potato purée, chipotle maple glaze, cinnamon-spiced apples, crispy buttermilk onion rings. Sadly, ours was slightly over-cooked and a bit tough for our liking. Pork Chop at City Works Annnd we couldn’t wrap up this review without telling you about the Peanut Butter Snickers Pie for $10. All we can say about this cloud of goodness is YUM. Y’all. We are very happy that this guy made it onto the menu. I mean it’s made with Oreo cookie crust, peanut butter mousse, whipped cream, Snickers, and even has a chocolate and caramel sauce. Pass on City Works IF: You’re not into watching sports and prefer a quieter, more relaxing dining experience You don’t like 168″ TVs You want to eat more international fare (there’s plenty of other options in Disney Springs if you just want to grab a great beer and City Works before or after you eat somewhere else, tho!) Overall We think City Works is a good new addition to Disney Springs, and we expect this will be a hopping joint over by the NBA Experience — another one new destination for sports lovers that recently opened in Disney World! It’s fun for those looking to kick back and relax with some above-average bar food! Swing by City Works today and see it for yourself!
