NEWS! Disney’s Shanghai and Hong Kong Parks Could Remain Closed For Two Months Due to Coronavirus

With the coronavirus outbreak, Disney is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety and health of their guests and Cast Members. In response to the public health crisis in China, Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland were both closed indefinitely.

Disney held their first quarter earning’s call yesterday and they revealed some more information on when both parks are expected to re-open.

According to the Orange County Register, Disney is currently expecting that Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland will remain closed for two months due to the spread of the coronavirus. As you may know, things can always change, especially in the world of Disney. So, if this timeline is adjusted, we will be sure to let you know.

Disney’s Chief Financial Officer, Christine McCarthy, spoke in the company’s earnings call yesterday and estimated that the loss of profits could total at least $175 million in the second quarter if both parks do in fact remain closed for two months.
