Disney4me
There’s a pretty big construction project coming to the roads near Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom The entrance and exit to Magic Kingdom are often extremely prone to traffic, so it’s good news that we spotted the acceptance of a permit for significant construction taking place on World Drive/Floridian Way, just outside the exit to Magic Kingdom! Take a look at what changes are coming to the roads in the area! Applications for the permit were filed a few months ago, but now the South Florida Water Management District has accepted the plans, so we should see this project start-up relatively soon. We want to be prepared so we’re checking out what all the construction will entail! The area in question is along Floridian Way between the Car Care Center and the Magic Kingdom Parking Lots. Construction Plans ©Google Maps The construction is going to slightly shift the alignment of World Drive (both northbound and southbound) and widen the roadway. There should also be two new ramps constructed to connect Floridian Way to Bear Island Road and Magic Kingdom Parking Lot Exit Road to the Car Care Center. Construction Plans ©Disney Now, the big pieces of this project come in the form of four new bridges carrying Floridian Way over the Magic Kingdom exit road! This means that the usual congestion that makes it difficult to head into and out of Grand Floridian Resort should be lessened significantly. Access to the Car Care Center will also be easier! Construction Plans ©Disney Now, this is definitely a massive project, so while we’re waiting for it to be completed we may see some effect on traffic patterns in the area that aren’t as positive so we’ll be sure to keep you updated! We’ll also be keeping a close lookout for any sign of the project starting so that we can let you know! We will also let you know if plans for this project change because as you probably know, things always have the potential to change! Headed to Magic Kingdom soon? Check out the latest updates!
