Disney4me
If you’ve been following along with our coverage of Hollywood Studios’ Rise of the Resistance since it’s grand opening back in December, then you know how tricky getting into a coveted boarding group for the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge major attraction has been at Disney World! Rise of the Resistance And with Disneyland’s Rise of the Resistance poised to open on January 17th, here’s what you’ll need to know to ensure your place in line at the west coast’s version of the ride! We know you’re excited about your first escape from the First Order when Rise of the Resistance officially opens in Disneyland next week. That’s why we want you to be prepared for what to expect! And while you probably don’t want to read any spoilers (if you do, that’s ok, too! Click here to read ’em!) you DO want to know about how you’ll be boarding the ride. Rise of the Resistance Sorry, folks — this isn’t going to be a walk-up and get-on situation. Similar to Disney World’s Rise of the Resistance, you will need a boarding pass to ride it, which means getting to Disneyland EARLY! Rise of the Resistance Don’t forget, as we shared a few weeks ago, Disneyland’s Rise of the Resistance will be doing a virtual queue system very similar to what we’ve seen already encountered at Disney World. Using the official Disneyland mobile app, you’ll be able to reserve your place in a boarding group to ride the new attraction after you have entered the Disneyland park. That means you can arrive at the park as early as you want, but the virtual queue system won’t be accessible until AFTER the park officially opens. (We do recommend getting there early though because then you’ll have a better chance at getting a boarding group — which fill up very QUICKLY!) Once you request and successfully join a boarding group, you’re free to roam and go wherever you like. You’ll receive a push notification when its time to return to Rise of the Resistance and you can also check the status of the boarding groups at anytime using the app. Rise of the Resistance If you don’t have the Disneyland app, there will be a few locations inside the park where you can join, but we HIGHLY recommend downloading the app, — and make sure you do so before heading to the park! Disney also has stated, “Admission into Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be subject to capacity, and having an assigned boarding group will not guarantee entrance to the attraction.” As you may remember, Disney World’s Rise of the Resistance experience quite a few hiccups in its early days and broke down frequently, causing delays and unfortunately disappointing some fans who were unable to ride it. Standby Line For Rise of the Resistance We’re hoping Rise of the Resistance’s grand opening in Disneyland goes a lot smoother and many folks are able to enjoy the new ride! Stay tuned, as we’ll be reporting live from Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge when Rise of the Resistance opens next Friday! Want to go ON Rise of the Resistance with us?
