Disney4me
Hey, everybody! It’s time for another roundup of What’s New at Animal Kingdom! Pandora It sure was WILD celebrating the holidays at Animal Kingdom in a new way this season, but now that Christmas is over, things are starting to return to normal! Join us for a walk through the park to see what’s been happening since our last visit! It’s a gorgeous day for a trek around Animal Kingdom, so enough monkeying around! Let’s get going! It’s Turk! Food Update in Animal Kingdom Multiple Locations While the Merry Menagerie puppets have flown the coop, the Merry Menagerie Popcorn Buckets have stayed behind! We also saw other styles of refillable holiday popcorn buckets still hanging around — like these Mickey Elf Popcorn Buckets at the Mahinidi Popcorn and Snack Stand in Africa! Holiday Popcorn Buckets at Mahinidi Discovery Island Pizzafari Meanwhile, on Discovery Island, the Merry Menagerie Cupcake was no longer available at Pizzafari, but the Simba Cupcake for $5.99 has decided to stick around! He’s a timeless classic, after all! We first saw him appear waaaay back in 2014, and then return in 2019 for The Lion King’s 25th anniversary! Looks like he’ll still be roaring in the 20s — at least for a little while! Pizzafari Read our review of the Simba Cupcake here! Creature Comforts We also saw that the Lotus Blossom Cupcake for $5.99 has returned. This one’s available at Creature Comforts and Restaurantosaurus! It’s soooo pretty and reminds us of the Rivers of Light floats! Lotus Blossom Cupcake Smiling Crocodile and Terra Treats Now that the holiday crowds have come and gone, we bid farewell to the seasonally-open spots Smiling Crocodile and Terra Treats! We’ll see you guys again once to park gets busy again, but for now, we’ll dampen our sadness with shorter wait times and not shuffling around the park in a sea of humanity! Smiling Crocodile Isle of Java Over at Isle of Java, the seasonal drinks are still prowling around on its menu. If you didn’t get your fill of them during the holiday season, hurry over there before they disappear! Isle of Java Eight Spoon Cafe And since we hadn’t stopped by the Eight Spoon Cafe for one of our favorite snacks (and best value for a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) in a while, we had to grab a Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork for $6.79! Eight Spoon Cafe’s Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork This thing is seriously legit! So noodly and cheesy and porky. There’s nothing about it we don’t absolutely LOVE and obsess over when we close our eyes at night! Eight Spoon Cafe’s Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork Read our full review of Eight Spoon’s mac and cheese HERE! Africa Harambe Fruit Market At the Harambe Fruit Market, we saw they’ve upgraded their Corn on the Cob sign — a tasty treat which is also DDP snack credit eligible for you folks rockin’ the 2020 Disney Dining Plan! New Sign Harambe Fruit Market Tamu Tamu Refreshments And at Tamu Tamu Refreshments, we noticed they too are now serving the Colossal Cinnamon Roll! Speaking of most-bang-for-your-DDP-snack-credit, this thing is HUGE! You can find ‘em at various other locations throughout the park including Creature Comforts and Kusafiri Bakery as well! Colossal Cinnamon Roll Find out more about the Colossal Cinnamon Roll here! Zuri’s Sweets At Zuri’s Sweets, their bakery case has returned to its regularly-scheduled treats and is no longer serving seasonal items. Bakery Case at Zuri’s Sweets Asia Caravan Road And just like Smiling Crocodile and Terra Treats, Caravan Road has closed. We’ll let you know when we see these guys open back up! Caravan Road Anandapur Ice Cream Truck If you’re a fan of the Forbidden Mountain Cone, you’ll be happy to know it’s still available at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck! Anandapur Ice Cream Truck Click here to read our review of the Forbidden Mountain Cone here! Dinoland Dino Bites And at Dino Bites, it looks like the Double Chocolate Peppermint Sandwich isn’t extinct yet which is SUPER-exciting since it was one of our favorite holiday goodies! But unfortunately, the Chips and Queso they were serving as part of Animal Kingdom’s Tasting Sampler is no longer available. Dino Bites Read our review of the Double Chocolate Peppermint Sandwich here! Merchandise Update in Animal Kingdom Riverside Depot We scoped out this new Space Mountain Puzzle for $22.99. We love the retro attraction poster it features! Space Mountain Puzzle And now that Christmas has ended, Disney World is moving on to Valentine’s Day!
