Disney4me Posted December 26, 2019 Report Share Posted December 26, 2019 Disney is always looking for inventive new ways to interact with us — part of the reason we’re seriously addicted to traveling to the Disney Parks whenever our budget allows! Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge And now that Disney is conducting “playtests” of droids in Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we’re seriously hoping we have enough galactic credits to check ’em out! While some of Disney’s original artist concepts showed free-roaming droids in early renderings of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, such hasn’t been the case…until now. According to the Orange County Register, R2-D2 has been spotted in recent days roaming by the entrance to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disneyland, in trial runs of what Disney officials are hoping will become part of the regular “guest experience”. R2-D2 Droid Depot And quite frankly, we’re seriously HOPING it will be too! How cool would it be to see R2-D2 roll by as you munch on a Ronto Wrap? We’re thinking it’d be pretty EPIC! What could be better than a Ronto Wrap and free-roaming droids? At this time, it’s unclear how long R2-D2 will be roving around and so far he’s only been sighted at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. Could he be making his way to Disney World anytime soon? Will there be other droids roaming Batuu like BB-8 or D-O, our lastest robo-obsession now that we’ve seen Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?
