If you’re lucky enough to be frequenting the stomping ground of Mickey Mouse this week, you might be interested to know what iconic attractions and locations won’t be open while you’re there. Here’s our weekly report of everything closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios!

Refurbishments in Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

Once again we have the sad reality of not being able to ride the Walt Disney World Railroad in its signature loop around the Magic Kingdom. You’ll find the Fantasyland and Frontierland stations closed, but the Main Street Station is at least open for a visit! Swing by to take a pic with one of the iconic steam engines and pass some of the many minutes that we have to wait for this attraction to reopen.

The Railroad has been closed for a while and will remain closed for the foreseeable future as we haven’t gotten any news of its reopening. We DO know that it closed to allow for construction on TRON Lightcycle Run which we expect to be completed by Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021.

Though not an official closure, you also might miss out on Big Top Souvenirs, at least early this week. The retail location closed last week due to unforeseen circumstances and will be reopening as soon as possible. That means you could be grabbing those silly souvenirs this week, but we’re not completely sure.

Thankfully, Pete’s Silly Sideshow next door has reopened, but we’ll keep you posted on when Big Top opens its door once again.

Refurbishments in Epcot

Impressions de France

Palais du Cinema remains closed in the World Showcase in Epcot to get ready for the reopening as a two-show venue. On January 17, you’ll be able to swing by the France Pavilion for the return of Impressions de France and for the debut of the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along!

The shows will run in a rotation, so we don’t have to say goodbye to Impressions de France and we still get to see the new show!

Canada Circle-Vision Theater

O’ Canada closed a while ago to prepare for a new Canada Far & Wide show at the Canada Circle-Vision Theater.

This week, the closure continues BUT Canada Far & Wide will also be opening on January 17th so that’ll be a BIG day in Epcot!

And that’s all the closures in Disney World this week! So far, there are no refurbishments reported in Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom and we’ll be sure to let you know if there are any changes!
