Disney4me
Happy holidays, DFB friends! It’s the merriest time of the year, and Walt Disney World keeps finding ways of surprising us for the holidays — this time with SECRET holiday drinks at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort! Let’s investigate… Coronado Springs Entrance While visiting the beautiful Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, we found not 1, not 2, but 3 (!!!) secret holiday drinks. We love for our DFB readers to be in the know, so we’re ready to spill all of our newfound secrets! Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa Del Lago Holiday Gran Gin Tonic The first top-secret holiday drink we found is the Holiday Gran Gin Tonic at Three Bridges Bar & Grill. This holiday concoction is made with Tanqueray Gin, House-made Saffron-Orange Tonic, Soda Water, Cranberries, and Rosemary. It is $14.00. Holiday Gran Gin Tonic This drink blew us away when the Cast Member first brought it out, not only because of the look of it but also because of its strong scent. It smelled like a Christmas tree! In fact, the Cast Member told us that it would taste like one too. Huh? We had never tried a Christmas tree, so we weren’t sure what to expect. Holiday Gran Gin Tonic Well, friends, she was right. This cocktail tasted just like it smelled. It was pine-like, fragrant and very herbal. But even more surprising is that we LOVED it! Oh, Christmas tree… Holiday Gran Gin Tonic It is one of the most unique drinks we’ve ever tried in “the World”! Because it is very aromatic, we thought the flavor of it would be overpowering. However, the drink itself is light-bodied and not overpowering at all! The saffron-orange tonic is prevalent, yet balances out the gin. Holiday Gran Gin Tonic The star of the show is the rosemary, which gives this drink its unique, fragrant profile and flavor. This cocktail is great for Guests who are fans of trendy mixology and fashion cocktails — or for those looking for a BOLD twist on a classic favorite! Holiday Red Sangria We found a second “classified” holiday drink at Three Bridges Bar & Grill. The Holiday Red Sangria is made with Garnacha Wine, Magdala Naranjas del Mediterráneo Orange Liqueur, Orange, and Cinnamon. It is $13.00. Holiday Red Sangria This drink is their standard red sangria with cinnamon added to it. We didn’t think this would make a big difference, but it did. As soon as we took our first sip, we were immediately able to smell and taste the cinnamon, which offers a nice “twist” on a fruit-forward red sangria. Holiday Red Sangria The sangria is very rich, which you can tell by its opaque color. The orange flavor from the oranges and Magdala Naranjas del Mediterráneo Orange Liqueur creates a lovely, citrusy contrast against the cinnamon and red wine. Holiday Red Sangria We think the addition of the cinnamon was a nice touch, but it’s still a fairly simple drink which we believe will please most guests who don’t enjoy drinks with too many ingredients. If you like to keep it simple, love sangria, and want to savor every well-balanced ingredient in your cocktail of choice, this may be a great option for you! Barcelona Lounge Cranberry and Blood Orange Sangria In the gorgeous Gran Destino Tower, we found a third secret holiday drink — a cranberry and blood orange sangria. We discovered it in the Barcelona Lounge. However, a Cast Member spilled a little tea and informed us that this secret holiday drink is also available in the Dahlia Lounge located on the 16th floor. Cranberry Blood Orange Sangria This delectable libation was created with a Satinela Wine, Magdala Naranjas del Mediterráneo Orange Liqueur, Orange, and Cranberry Juice. It is $13.00. Cranberry Blood Orange Sangria This was our favorite drink of the day! The Satinela Wine is very similar to a Riesling. It is light, sweet, and refreshing. Cranberry Blood Orange Sangria The combination of the Magdala Naranjas del Mediterráneo Orange Liqueur, blood orange, and cranberry juice added some tartness to the sweet Satinela, but we still consider this a medium-sweet sangria. Cranberry Blood Orange Sangria Overall, this sangria was flavorful, refreshing, and light-bodied! Cheers to that, Barcelona Lounge! This drink definitely made us feel MERRY. Remember, these drinks likely won’t be printed on any menus, but you CAN get them…you just have to ask! We hope you’ve enjoyed this round-up of secret holiday drinks at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Stay tuned as we spy with our little eyes even more holiday goodies at Walt Disney World.
