The restaurants at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have undergone many wonderful changes in the past year. We know navigating these changes can be confusing — but don’t worry, beach happy, the DFB Team is here to review it all for you!

Our last visit to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort included drinks and appetizers at Banana Cabana, lunch at Sebastian’s Bistro, and dinner at Centertown Market.

Our most recent visit takes us back to Centertown Market for lunch! Let’s dive right in…

ATMOSPHERE

Centertown Market is Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort’s Quick-Service/Fast Casual option.

This beautiful location is reminiscent of an indoor street island market, complete with thatched roofs, Caribbean music, vivid colors, and gorgeous light fixtures.

You will also find stunning murals depicting a Caribbean Carnival.

‘Tis the SEA-son for outdoor eating, so we headed outside to the covered outdoor seating area which offers beautiful views of the Disney Skyliner and the entire Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Don’t miss out on our first look and pictures of this tropical paradise from earlier this year!

EATS

The lunch options at Centertown Market are very well-rounded. The menu also includes various new plant-based options!Disneys-Caribbean-Beach-Resort-Lunch-Cen

For today’s review, we chose to try the Cuban Sandwich, Plant-Based Market Burger, Chocolate Crème Tart, and Tropical Tart.

After making our choices, we proceeded to the central ordering location. At Centertown, you place your order at a central ordering station.

Once you place your order, you are given a pager. When your pager buzzes, you proceed to the conveniently labeled “Pick-Up” windows to receive your meal. This is different from dinner at Centertown Market, where a Cast Member brings your food to the table.

The first thing we tried was the Cuban Sandwich for $11.49. We’re big fans of Cuban sandwiches and know a good one when we see it!

This Cuban at Centertown Market seems to check-off all of the requirements of a traditional Cuban Sandwich. The pressed Cuban bread is stuffed with pulled pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. We were happy to see that it would be “pressed”, as this is how real Cuban Sandwiches should be prepared.

We had high hopes for this sandwich and, for the most part, were quite satisfied.Disneys-Caribbean-Beach-Resort-Lunch-Cen

The Cuban bread was buttery, flaky, and perfectly pressed. This sandwich is supposed to come with a side of crunchy Plantain and Yucca Chips but we opted for a side of fries instead. The fries were standard Disney Quick-Service fries — crunchy, salty, and warm.

The pulled pork was flavorful, soft, and plentiful. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the pork was! Through experience, we’ve come to realize that it’s the pork that will “make or break” a Cuban Sandwich. This one was really well seasoned and well cooked!

We’re BIG fans of cheese yet, sadly, this sandwich didn’t have nearly as much as we would have liked! There was a good bit of ham, but give us more CHEESE to fill out that bread! We also love a lot of mustard on a good Cuban, but ours was a bit light, so be sure to ask for extra if that’s your thing!

Overall, it was a delicious sandwich — mostly because of the amazing pork! It was definitely the standout ingredient of this dish.

Next up, we tried the Market Burger. This burger is served with a side of Plantain and Yucca Chips, but we chose a small side salad instead. This is Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort’s take on a plant-based burger. The Market Burger is described as a “grilled Plant-based burger served with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.” This burger is usually

We did some digging and decided to speak to a Cast Member when we realized there was no information on exactly what type of plant-based burger patty we were about to consume! A Cast Member confirmed that it is a Beyond Meat patty. The Beyond Meat burger patty has no GMOs, soy, or gluten. It is perfect for plant-based foodies!

We were given bountiful toppings. We counted at least 4 large pieces of lettuce, 2 pieces of tomato, 2 stacks of onions, and 2 giant sliced pickles! Disneys-Caribbean-Beach-Resort-Lunch-Cen

The Market Burger could have fooled us! It was juicy, tasty and even looked like a regular burger! Some more digging told us that the patty is “dyed” with red beet juice — giving it that authentic meat color. We noticed the patty had a slight coconut after-taste. Other than that, there’s not much else to say! It is a very straight-forward plant-based option.

The side salad which consists of a “spring mix” and green tomatoes topped with vinaigrette dressing was very simple. We liked the flavor of the vinaigrette and found there was enough of it on the salad.

Let’s keep PALM and carry on to some of the dessert options!

DESSERTS

We found two tart options on the lunch menu, and like any good foodies, we decided to try both!

The Tropical Tart is a tropical key lime and mango tart with passion fruit and vanilla Chantilly for $5.49.

This dessert was light, tasty, and not too sweet. The most prominent flavor is that of the key lime. The passion fruit, vanilla and mango tone down some of the acidity of the key lime —while still remaining “tart” enough for those looking for that unmistakable key lime “kick”!

The Chocolate Crème Tart for $5.49 is described as a chocolate creme tart topped with chocolate coffee Chantilly, San Farine biscuit, and finished with Caramel Crispies.

We were “happy as clams” when we dove into this one. It was decadent, rich, and delicious. This a definite must-have for chocolate lovers! The coffee added a nice touch to it, as did those amazing Caramel Crispies. We would have been content with a bowl of JUST the Caramel Crispies. They were that yummy!

OVERALL

The lunch dishes and desserts we tried at Centertown Market are great quick-service options for guests staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. However, it’s not necessarily worth swimming over to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to eat at Centertown Market unless you are staying there OR if you happen to jump off the Skyliner (Caribbean Beach is the central station and want a quick bite.

We hope to return soon and continue checking out other newer additions to the Centertown Market menu — hopefully, we will strike “foodie gold” at Disney’s Caribbean Beach soon!
