Planet Hollywood Like, a really sticky situation. That’s because according to WUSF Public Media, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has filed a lawsuit against the company last week. Their claim? Planet Hollywood is in breach of its contract with the department, failing to create new jobs at its Disney Springs’ location after receiving $288,000 in state incentives. Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs The funds were given to Planet Hollywood in 2011 as part of the “Quick Action Closing Fund Program”, which was instated by then-governor, Rick Scott. But the lawsuit alleges Planet Hollywood failed to add new jobs and file regular reports with the department leading to this breach of contract claim. And according to WUSF Public Media, “The lawsuit said the department terminated the agreement in 2016 and demanded repayment of the $288,000 but did not receive the money.” We’ll keep you updated any additional news we hear as this story starts heatin’ up!
