California Adventure On January 8, 2020, you will once again hear jubilant voices cry out, “Ducks score!” when the Anaheim “Mighty” Ducks bring Anaheim Ducks Day to California Adventure with a wide range of hockey-themed activities, reflecting how the hockey team continues to honor its longstanding ties to the Walt Disney Company. Founded by the Walt Disney Company in 1993, the Anaheim Ducks were originally named the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim after Disney’s 1992 film The Mighty Ducks. A popular hit at the time, the movie tells the tale of an underdog (or “underduck”) youth league team that, through friendship and determination, rose to win the state championship.
