Disney4me
These snacks have us devotin’ full time to floatin’! Journey of the Little Mermaid Can you believe The Little Mermaid movie is 30 years old? Neither can we!!! But it sure is. In fact, yesterday was Ariel’s “birthday” and we’re ready to celebrate! You can sit down for a Little Mermaid-inspired meal at Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot for a more formal celebration OR swim over to Magic Kingdom for a ride on Journey of the Little Mermaid and try some limited-time undersea snacks. There are TWO special offerings at Prince Eric’s Village Market for the anniversary of The Little Mermaid. Both of these eats have some awesome themes that really make us think of Princess Ariel! Plus, get this, there’s a sweet option and a savory option! Dinglehopper Noodles Dream Big, Little Mermaid Look at how CUTE these are!!! Dinglehopper Noodles and Dream Big, Little Mermaid First off, there’s this clam-azing Dream Big, Little Mermaid dessert made with hibiscus-flavored cake, raspberry marmalade, lemon buttercream, and an edible chocolate pearl. This option is available for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit. Dream Big, Little Mermaid We can’t get over how cute this is. It looks just like a little clam you’d find on the ocean floor! The flavors in this dessert go together SO well. The cake itself is really lightly flavored with some floral notes and the lemon buttercream is a fab balance of sweet and tart. Our only complaint? It could use MORE of that raspberry jelly which really rounds out the flavors. Dream Big, Little Mermaid It’s a smaller portion so don’t feel too shellfish if you keep it all to yourself. Too much? Okay, okay, we’ll clam up. This is a good option if you’re not a chocolate person and looking for a lighter option. Dream Big, Little Mermaid If you tend to prefer a more savory snack, look no further than the Dinglehopper Noodles! This dish is a pretty spot-on (if a little more noodle-y) representation of Ariel’s hair, complete with Dinglehopper. Dinglehopper Noodles This dish is available for $6.49 or as a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit and features fresh pasta salad with herb vinaigrette, radishes, chives, and an edible flower. Look at this stuff! Isn’t it neat? Dinglehopper Noodles We REALLY liked this. The noodles are covered in olive oil and chive and they definitely hit the spot as a more light and refreshing snack. If you’ve got a small stomach, this could even function as a light meal to tide you over before a big or late dinner! So when you beeline for Prince Eric’s to grab that Mermaid Donut, maybe take a glance at one of these guys instead (or get all three if you’re REALLY hungry).
