Disney4me
The massive Epcot transformation is officially underway and that means we’re finding some changes to the World Showcase. World Showcase Lagoon Soon you can expect to see an overhaul to the United Kingdom Pavilion in Epcot and a new Ratatouille-inspired ride in the France Pavilion, but there are some cool changes in other pavilions that have already arrived. One example of that is the new Race Against the Sun exhibit in the Morocco Pavilion! Earlier this week, Disney announced that the Gallery of Arts and History in the Morocco Pavilion reopened with an all-new exhibit! This gallery is one of the many places on the World Showcase where guests can learn about other cultures and the new exhibit, Race Against the Sun: Ancient Technique to Modern Competition is an awesome way they can do so! Morocco Pavilion The exhibit is centered around two Moroccan competitions, Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles). You can also learn about the culture of the Saharan Berbers! Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney The Marathon of the Sands is a six-day ultramarathon that is right around the length of six regular marathons! Whew! AND the Marathon takes place through the Sahara Desert. And we thought the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon sounded hard! Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney The Rally of the Gazelles is an all-woman off-road race through the Sahara. Both of these events sound crazy extreme and the exhibit is a super cool and immersive way to see how they came about through years of tradition. Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney Plus, to go along with the opening of the gallery, there’s a new treat at Tangierine Cafe. Sellou is an almond and sesame seed-based snack that participants eat during their races to stay energized. Looks pretty tasty to us and it’ll probably help with that mid-park day schlump! Sellou ©Disney We aren’t too sure how long this new exhibit will be sticking around, so head over to the Morocco Pavilion and see what there is to learn!
