Disney4me
It might be Christmastime in Disneyland, but we’re not saying goodbye to pumpkin flavored treats just yet! (; A Christmas Fantasy Parade While we’ve been snacking on treats like the Raspberry Mascarpone Yule Log, Peppermint Churro, and the Caramel Pecan Brownie Parfait, we’re trying a twist on a classic dessert for the holidays in Disney California Adventure! The Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Funnel Cake is the like Halloween, Thanksgiving dinner, AND Christmas dessert combined into one treat at the Hungry Bear Restaurant. Hungry Bear Restaurant ©Disney Of course, Hungry Bear is the epitome of all things Funnel Cake in Walt’s original park. We’ve had SO many goodies here, including the still-dream-about-it-on-the-regular Churro funnel cake! And now they’ve introduced another seasonal situation! The huge funnel cake is topped with pumpkin pie cheesecake mousse, graham cracker streusel and crumbles, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. Sounds AMAZING, right?!? Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Funnel Cake The funnel cake is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a sweet and delicious batter, as per usual at HBR. Buuut, that’s kind where the dessert stopped making sense for us. While each separate part of the funnel cake tastes great on its own, the combination made the texture super weird. It was creamy, crunchy, sticky, and gooey somehow all at the same time?? Which, I guess, CAN be good with some things. But for us? It just wasn’t. TOO. MANY. INGREDIENTS. It’s basically a sugar overload of different holidays battling for dominance. Even though past funnel cakes (like the Dead-Cadent Funnel Cake) have balanced multiple ingredients, this one’s just kind of a mess tbh. However, it does taste like pumpkin, so die-hard pumpkin spice lovers would maybe like this. Emphasis on the maybe. Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Funnel Cake But, I know, if you’re like me, you’re totally NOT going to miss out on something called a “Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Funnel Cake” no matter what any old reviewer tells you (we’re very obstinate that way, you and I), so you can try it for yourself for $8.99. When you’re done, let us know what you thought! And then go out the other holiday treats in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure instead! Check out more Disneyland Food Reviews Here!!
