Animal Kingdom this Holiday Season!

This year, the park is getting in on the holiday action with new offerings, decor, and treats! We’ve seen Peppermint soft-serve, and the Christmas lion paw cookie, but if you’re getting just ONE thing at Animal Kingdom during the holidays, make it this!

In addition to all the holiday decor we spotted in DinoLand U.S.A., we found a new seasonal treat! Dino-Bite Snacks is offering the Double-Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich.

Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich

This massive treat features vanilla ice cream that is served between Double Chocolate Cookies and then rolled in Peppermint Candy Bits. To sweeten the deal, one of the cookies is dipped in red-swirled white chocolate.

Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich

This masterpiece was absolutely FANTASTIC! The cookies were soft and chewy, and worked harmoniously with the ice cream that was rolled in the candy cane crunch. It wasn’t overpoweringly peppermint-y, and that’s the KEY FACTOR. I’m totally cool with peppermint when it’s well balanced by rich chocolate and vanilla.

DFB Tip: PEPPERMINT = ACCENT FLAVOR, y’all. If peppermint is your main flavor, you’re either eating toothpaste or gum. And that’s no good. DON’T SWALLOW TOOTHPASTE OR GUM. (OK, you can eat candy canes. But who wants to eat like 50 candy canes in a row? Not me. But I WOULD eat 50 of these little beauties in a row. And HOW!)

If you only have one thing while visiting Animal Kingdom this holiday season, make it this! It can be yours for $6.99 or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
