Disney4me
Can you smell something baking up? We do! Grand Floridian Gingerbread House One of the most MASSIVE of Disney Holiday treat traditions has been found in the lobby of Grand Floridian Resort for over 20 years. Every year this structural confection appears in the lobby of the Grand Floridian and it’s so big it even features its own snack stand inside the house! The construction is always a huge effort and we saw the first steps go into place today at the resort! The base elements for the house are in the lobby now! There’s no gingerbread or candy to be seen… yet! But we’re getting excited just seeing the size and shape of the gingerbread house. Gingerbread House Construction Construction went up overnight last night and guests this morning were treated to a view of the in-progress construction of the homiest gingerbread house around. A large portion of the lobby is roped off while construction takes place. Gingerbread House Construction If last year is any indication, and if the construction teams are on-time with their build, we should see gingerbread start to appear on the house tomorrow! The process of decking the halls of this structure with candy and cookies typically takes about 3 days so hopefully, we’ll see the completed product before the end of this week. Gingerbread House Construction The much-anticipated Gingerbread Shop that operates out of the back of the house will likely open around November 13 so get ready for some original and delicious gingerbread treats!
