Disney4me
Frozen 2 is descending on Disney World faster than a Summer snowstorm in Arendelle! Kringla Bakeri og Kafe And where else to find all the best Frozen-inspired treats than in the Norway Pavilion in Epcot?! We already sampled the way too pretty Caramel Mousse, a Frozen Slush, the new Fall Cheesecake, and now we’re back with a new take on an old Frozen favorite! Kringla Bakeri og Kafe keeps giving us more and more fun Frozen treats! While grabbing goodies, we spied an oddly familiar-looking set of cupcakes in the case… Frozen 2 Mini Cupcakes This set of 4 Mini Spirit Cupcakes costs $7.49 and each one is themed to a different elemental spirit — water, fire, earth, and wind. But wait, we’re feeling déjà vu over here! Frozen Mini Cupcakes Back in 2016 when Frozen Ever After opened, Kringla Bakeri og Kafe became Frozen treat central. One popular treat was the Frozen Mini Cupcakes seen below. Mini Frozen Cupcakes We loved these cuties when we first reviewed them! Naturally, these lil cakes got a fresh makeover with the coming of Frozen 2! Let’s see if we loved them the same. Just like the originals, you get 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla mini cupcakes. First up was an icy blue vanilla “Water” cupcake accented with tiny white sprinkles. This was a perfectly fine mini vanilla cupcake, if not a bit on the plain side. Vanilla Cupcake Next, we tried a mini chocolate “Fire” cupcake with pink and purple buttercream piped in a cute fire pattern. The colors are super cute here and the cake was very moist and chocolatey! Chocolate Cupcake Next up, we have a vanilla mini cupcake with a swirl of white buttercream and a few Fall sprinkles on top. This cupcake represents “Wind” with the blowing leaves. The sprinkles gave a nice crunch to the bite. Vanilla Cupcake Last up we have a chocolate…well, a chocolate rock cupcake? Muffin? This cupcake represents “Earth” but it was a bit disappointing because NO frosting! The plain chocolate cake has a few candy rocks on top, but where is the frosting!?! If a cupcake has no buttercream is it even really a cupcake? Chocolate Cupcake So how does it stack up to the original set? Well, we prefer the original to the sequel, if you catch our drift! These were perfectly fine cupcakes (minus the frostingless one!) but the original had more variety and style to them. In the original set, one featured cookies and cream buttercream and another had a fruity strawberry buttercream. These are all relatively plain by comparison, unfortunately. If you’re looking for an easily shareable sweet, these would be a great pick for kids in your group, especially with the fun colors. But, if we’re in Kringla looking for a sweet Frozen treat, we’ll likely grab the Chocolate Mousse instead! Check out our review of the original Frozen Mini Cupcakes HERE!
